It had been two weeks since Tourit and Tenshi left the South Capital. They were travelling to discover the true story about the Atorantikku royal jewels. Tenshi should've been so excited finding out the history of this culture, but all she felt was nauseous. It had been going on for a few days. Her husband had been helping her through this sickness. Why did she feel like this? After another attack of vomiting, she cleaned up and walked out to the streets with Tourit, just wanting to spend a nice day with him. Her mind was completely distracted, however, trying to guess what it was.
Tenshi had gotten used to the greasier food of Earth, so she wasn't getting sick from that anymore... The weather had been perfect, and there wasn't too much pollution in this city... she didn't have any other symptoms of illness, so it couldn't be that... She walked down the sidewalk until she froze, letting go of Tourit... two weeks... at the hotel... no.... no no NO! It... can't be... was she... she was a week late, so... could it be?
Looking at her husband, she kept herself from hyperventilating.
"T...Tourit, my love... Why don't we stop at the local pharmacy... I... have to buy something from there... NOW!" She said, beginning to freak out inside.
“Whoah, uh, ok…” Tourit said, confused and a little startled. He felt reassurance by the cool air that hit him as the pharmacy doors slid open. “Well, I’ll let you run off to get what ya need.” Tourit said whilst eyeing a colorful assortment of candies in one of the aisles. “Hope she’s ok…Its rare for her to act worried like this…”
Tenshi quickly walked to the proper aisle. Quickly looking through the tests, she found one that was the most accurate. "Hope this works with other species besides earthlings." She ripped open the box, pulling the test and running into the restroom. This was it... she didn't know whether to be excited or downright terrified... "MA'AM! You need to pay for that! MA'AM!" A worker said, seeing the very overdressed woman running into the bathroom. Like heck he was chasing her into the bathroom when she was using a pregnancy test! He picked the box from the ground. Looking around the store, he spotted a similarly dressed man. "Excuse me! That woman with you? You'll need to pay for this!" He held the box in front of Tourit's face, not knowing that he was naïve to what Tenshi was panicking about.
“Oh, um… Tourit looked around the store, and didn’t spot his wife anywhere. “Well, I guess I gotta.” Tourit took out some of his Earth money and handed it to the man. “No, not here dingus, at the register.” “Right, I knew that.” The man scanned the box as a number appeared on a screen. “So, you and the missus trying to have a child then?” The prince’s face went a little red. “What? Well, not particularly…Wait, why are you asking? Don’t you think it’s a little rude to ask such a random question to a complete stranger?” Tourit felt a little invaded having some random person ask him a private question. “Well, it’s not exactly random when your wife is buying a pregnancy test.” Tourit looked at the box with a blank expression, and reading it confirmed what the man had said. “That’ll be 5.98.” Tourit handed over a five and a one, and quietly walked over to a bench near the restrooms and sat down. “Oh man…I’m not ready to be a father…Oh no….Oh no….” He thought to himself as his head sunk down to his lap.
Tenshi had used the test... now all there was to do was wait... She didn't want to stand in a bathroom to find out about one of the most important questions about her life. She saw a bench outside, so she walked to sit and wait. She paled as she spotted Tourit, sitting there. Nervously, she sat next to her husband. "S...so I guess you know..." Was all she could say that moment. Letting out a deep breath, she sat next to him looking down at the ground. The silence was agonizing as the test still blinked saying analyzing. "I don't get it! We only did it once... Are... are we ready... Am I ready?!" Tenshi knew that if she was pregnant, it wouldn't be any normal baby. This child would be the future heir of their kingdoms. "Do... you want a child now? I... don't know!!!" She held the test, it still analyzing. "JUST TELL US, YOU PIECE OF PLASTIC TRASH!!!" She yelled, panicking. Some items slightly rose from the ground from her anger.
Tourit sighed. It wasn’t very uplifting to see his wife as panicky as he was. He knew that he would have a child eventually, but he didn’t think it would happen so soon. Still, he knew that at least one of them had to try to bring light to this. “Listen, Tenshi.” He said, putting his arm over his beloved’s shoulder. “I don’t know if we are ready for a child either. But one thing I do know is that I am going to love them. I’m going to love our little prince or princess, and protect them with my life.” He hugged his wife close. “Tenshi…simply knowing you has made my life so full and amazing. You’re an incredible woman, and I know that you will be an incredible mother too.”
Tenshi looked at her husband, giving a small smile as the items lowered. He was a true treasure... She began thinking, and understood. "Thank you Tourit. Our child will be blessed having you as a father... like I am to have you as a husband." She kissed his cheek, looking at the test. It said it was done... after a second the word was shown on the test... it was positive. Tenshi dropped the test on the floor. "It... it's... truly positive." She was stunned, but after a moment, she let everything Tourit said go through her head. They would love their child, and this heir will be protected by an incredible man. "We're truly going to be parents, Tourit!" She took his hands, holding them for a second before wrapping her arms around Tourit. "We are going to be parents! And this child will have the most incredible father anyone could imagine." Tenshi touched her forehead with his. Their new adventure was already beginning. They had only just married, and now they had a family on the way.
Tourit’s heart skipped a beat. Was he really ready to be a father? His wife wrapping her arms around him helped comfort him, and convinced him that he was. He softly kissed his wife on the lips. “Guess that means we will have to start thinking of names then, huh?”
