Power Level:23,163 It was cold.
Verst liked the cold, it deterred visitors.
He expected company however, he had planned to hollow out an area for his base today, and he didn't plan on making it quiet. He head to the area he had designated, moved into the small alcove that would be his entrance and started throwing blast attacks in a cone, creating an increasingly expanding area under this small mountain he'd turn into his home and operations center on Earth. He had hoped to gain a few more minions before this time came but as he continued hollowing out a space he realized he hadn't really tried. The future always was a better place to do things, especially if he had somewhere to keep his minions, along with a place to hide his ship.
The cold blew onto Verst's back, barely affecting him, merely coating his armor in a thin layer of snow which was rattled off by each blast of warmth and air from the cave ahead. The roof of the now expansive cave rumbled, cracked and occasionally parts would fall to the floor but it was stable enough. A large dark area now loomed in front of him the darkness appealed to Verst, so many possibilities.
However, the earth rumbled beneath him, almost angry at his goals it shook and reverberated for a few miles.
Now to wait for those who ask questions...

Thread PL: 41 864 Heavy weights active! Sensed PL: 10 466 Gira had been training in the frozen wastes, trying to build up her tolerance to the cold. It... wasn't working out so well. Her joints felt so stiff in the cold. It made it harder to move around. Combined with her weights, it was much more difficult than normal to move. Gira's training was interrupted when she felt a bunch of vibrations from the nearby mountains. Feeling the area out with her ki sensing ability, she felt a rather large power nearby. It was only half of hers, so she believed she could handle it if they turned violent. Gira didn't want to get violent. As much as she loved a good fight, she preferred one that was friendly. For that reason, she hoped that this power was a friend. Or at least, not a foe. Deciding to check it out, Gira rocketed into the sky, making her way to where she felt the power. Touching down at the entrance to a large cave, Gira stepped through, coming face to face with an Arcosian! That was a surprise. She didn't see many of those around here. In fact, she hadn't seen an Arcosian since Brace. That was awhile ago too. That one was... nice enough, she supposed. But he wasn't very kind to humans. The half-Saiyan decided to introduce herself and see what was going on here before she moved on to judgement. She waved to the Arcosian as she entered, greeting him. "Hey, I'm Gira. What brings you all the way up here?"

Here comes the first visitor Verst thought as he heard footsteps echo into the cave.
He looked up to meet the gaze of the small hybrid, the darkness partially hid Verst apart from the occasional glints off his armour, from the light reflecting off the surrounding snow. "Gira, eh?" Verst pondered. The first question was not an unexpected one but less likely than planned. "I'm here to build my base." Verst said calmly. "I assume you are here to interrupt that or are you just being inquisitive?"
Verst flew slowly out of the darkness, revealing himself to Gira, he was shorter than her in his current form, however his eyes showed age and determination. A light blue mask covered his lower face concealing most of his emotions, which rarely showed themselves.
He flew around Gira, landing in the snow. He gave a small bow and proclaimed "My name is Verst, and this soon shall be my land. If you wish to help me, you are welcome, if not you may leave. But if you try to stop me, I'm not going to back down from a fight." His hands moved to his hips, as he pushed his chest forward partially.

Cloud's BP: 3500
Cloud's teeth began to chatter as he moved through the frozen land. This is what he gets for trying to find a place to rest but not having a damn map, thought Cloud. He didn't where he was and he didn't have the energy to even fly. His feet was wearing out each step of the way and the winds only became more cold and gruesome for the hybrid to withstand.
He had to find shelter, and FAST.
If he didn't he'll soon pass out with no one to save him. He began running faster and faster, but he didn't see anything. Then he heard a loud explosion that shook the Earth, sending shockwaves upon shockwaves. The explosions just kept coming. They sounded like ki blasts. He couldn't sense ki but he certainly can hear! He followed the sounds by gathering all his strength and went flying into the air. The cold was not easy on Cloud's body but he managed. It took awhile for Cloud to arrive but when he did he found a cave. It seemed good enough but he then saw two figures one looked like human, actually, he was quite unsure since saiyans look very similar to humans except for their tails but some don't have them.
However, the other one was an arcosian. Cloud's heart skipped a beat and he nearly screamed. He tried to hide behind some rock and snow. He tried to listen in about what they were saying. The arcosian talked about claiming the land and fighting. At least that's what Cloud got, he would barely hear. Most of the time, Cloud's a stranger on aliens and such but he wasn't an idiot. He KNEW arcosians shouldn't be messed with and are extremely powerful. But then he realized they could sense ki.
He tried to stealthily leave them be. He'd rather pass out in snow and frost then die by an arcosian. He hoped his power level was too low for them to even sense it. He began tip toeing away as gently as he could.

Gira watched the Arcosian carefully as he introduced himself, stating what he was doing here. He was building a base? A base for what? When someone made a base, they normally had a purpose for doing so. "Base" could mean "base of operations," so Gira had to be sure that these operations weren't a threat to earth before she decided whether she would help or hinder the man. Should it come to a fight, Gira had to be careful. While the energy she felt now was something she could handle, she knew that Arcosians could transform and get much stronger. With a casual shrug, the tailless half-Saiyan answered his question.
"I like to fight, but I don't know why you're here. You say that you're building a base. Can I ask why? If i'm gonna help, I want to make sure i'm not helping someone do something evil. Not to say your kind is inherently evil. No, i've met a... nice Arcosian before." She crossed her arms and looked at Verst without a hint of fear. "I just want to be sure. From what i've seen and heard, the galaxy is a dangerous place right now." Gira almost hoped that this turned into a battle. She had faced Saiyans, Majins, and demons in battle, but she never faced off against a race as strong as an Arcosian before.

"This land is unclaimed, it is a waste of ice and snow. I wish for it to bring forth it's potential." Verst looked around at the nearby mountains surrounded by a formless tundra. The snow was deep, he had yet to feel the ground beneath his feet just snow. "The people here are fearful of the cold, the dark and they rely on outside help. I wish to provide somewhere they can be warm, help each other and grow their own food. They will know peace and they will live in warmth. I will create peace for all." Verst's eyes met Gira's in an intense stare.
His head snapped as he heard the sound of snow crunching by the cave. "HEY! Show yourself!" Verst shouted to the unknown person. He waited patiently, cautiously watching the area "I don't want to harm you!" He continued.

Cloud was stunned when the arcosian shouted out. Shit! He heard me! He heard me! I'm dead! thought Cloud. The arcosian wasn't going to hurt him? Yeah right! His whole talk of making this place helpful must be a bunch of lies. He could never trust an arcosian even for a second. But, if he ran now, the arcosian will see him, and possibly kill him. So it'll be better to just show himself and try to act cool. Some may think Cloud was being over reactive, but he's never heard of a nice arcosian and he'll probably never see one.
Cloud walked towards both the girl and arcosian.
"U-uh-um, Hello! I'm just a traveler-r, and I s-simply wish for a place to r..rest. yeah"
So much for playing it cool... Usually, Cloud's pretty cocky about how strong he is compared to others (mostly because he couldn't sense ki yet...) but he knew arcosians were strong and he didn't want to dare to fight one of them.

Gira listened to Verst as he explained what he was here to do. It was a little idealistic, but Gira herself was idealistic at times. "That's all you want? Just a place for people to live in peace?" Gira looked like she was thinking for a moment. 'If what he says is true, I can get behind that.' Gira was about to reply to Verst when he called out someone behind them. Gira turned and looked towards where Verst was shouting. A young, black-haired boy revealed himself to the pair. He seemed a little shaken. The half-Saiyan felt sorry for him.
She approached Cloud. "A traveler? What are you doing in a place like this?" The hybrid asked the question, but she didn't believe he was a simple traveler. Reaching out with her sixth sense, Gira felt Cloud's power. He was quite strong. Though she wondered why he seemed so afraid. Gira didn't intend to hurt him, though she didn't know about Verst. He didn't seem so bad, though. However, she could understand why he might feel a little frightened. Verst's race didn't really have the best track record. Gira preferred to judge people on their merits, though. She'd give anyone a chance.

"Yes that's all I want, for people to have a common goal, it's been too long since I've been somewhere I belong. I want a place for any and everyone to belong." Verst said back to Gira. "There's shelter in that cave Traveller, or you should warm yourself with your ki." Verst said to the unidentified man. "What's your name traveller?" Verst inquired
He awaited their response as small bits of snow started to fall. "It shall take some time before my base is complete, as well as money but it'll get there." Verst lowered his guard and his face mask revealing his lower face. His eyes glazed over as he started focusing on the vision of his future. A base with hundreds of people all milling around, ships flying in and out; Trade happening in the markets it felt good knowing that people would probably welcome him. But his other plans wold remain unknown.

Cloud was pleasantly surprised by the arcosian's response and him lowering his guard. He was sure he could lower his guard. The arcosian seemed like one of those people who tried to help Earth and humans. Once again, he still wondered why people like him do what they do. Humans were greedy, selfish, and untrustworthy. He could go on and on about all their faults. Speaking of humans, he looked at the girl, well, he assumed she was a human.
"Well I'm kinda both a traveler and fighter. I was looking for a place to train but wandered here and now I just need a place to stay." Cloud of course had a grudge against humans and saiyans so he was not fond of the girl wether or not she was human or saiyan, but he had to not lash out in front of the arcosian. He then turned to the arcosian and stated,
"My name's Cloud and thanks for offering me a place to stay." Cloud was annoyed at how he was acting. Usually he would never be this nice and instead be the arrogant person he usually was but he tried to keep a straight face. He wanted to actually fight the arcosian just to see if he was actually stronger but resisted.
He went inside the cave awkwardly which was pleasantly warm. After a while, the cold wasn't harsh as it was before since he got used to it. He then began to eavesdrop on the two expecting something to happen.

Gira listened as Cloud explained his situation. He was a traveler looking for a place to stay and train, then? The "train" part really caught her attention. She'd have to come back to that at some point. She had helped train a couple of less experienced fighters. She liked helping them along, watching them get stronger. It brought her back to those days not so long ago when she was learning how to fight for real. When Cloud introduced himself, Gira waved to him. "I'm Gira. Nice to meet you." She looked over to Verst next.
"Well, I can't really help with money, but i'm pretty strong. I can help with the time it would take. What are your plans for this base? Is it gonna be, like, a city? With houses and stores and stuff?" Gira looked around at the cave, envisioning what this base might look like once it was finished. It was certainly an interesting idea and one she could get behind. This place seemed incredibly inhospitable to normal people. Even when Gira was warming herself with her ki, it was still incredibly uncomfortable. It wasn't so bad in this cave, though. Provided the base went deep enough, normal people could live here with little issue.
Then was the question of transportation. Unless the denizens would be okay with sticking to a single spot or if they could all somehow fly, the would need to clear a way for air and land vehicles to get in and out of the base. But she was getting ahead of herself. Verst hadn't even given him a solid yes or no yet. Gira looked over at Cloud again. "So, are you gonna offer your help too? The more hands on deck, the better." She smiled at him. "You seem really strong, too. I'm sure your help would be very valuable."

Verst took a note of Cloud's name. "You're welcome to stay and train here with me if you like, as long as you help build the base at least partially." Verst nodded towards Cloud before paying attention towards Gira's questions; Verst contemplated them. "Well ideally most of the houses will be built into the walls until the area's clear enough for free standing buildings. There will have to be plans for an openable roof for planes etc. as well as attaching it to the main road network. I called it a base as it will also form a small Ki powered force to help around the area, and harbor refugees."
Verst looked again to Cloud "Any help is welcome, the pay will be almost nothing but the progress will be huge the more the better." Verst again thought about how to convince more helpers to assist him.

Cloud was confused what to say, he was being asked to help build a base for HUMANS! Humans were greedy weaklings and they didn't deserve an entire base dedicated to helping them. The fact people help humans is completely insane! Cloud's opinion of the two in front of him was greatly lowered, but it was already low to begin with. He was great at keeping his emotions in check (but that was mostly Cloud's arrogance talking) so he tried to not sound furious and stated, "Sorry, but I have some friends I need to help in Ginger Town. I don't think I'll have time to help you." However, his voice came out slightly angry and very annoyed. but Cloud was too cocky to realize that.
This was obviously a lie but he had to get out of the situation he was in currently.. Besides, like he said before, he got used to the cold so he was sure he could make it out of the frozen land he currently was in. The girl and arcosian were both nice so he was sure he could manipulate their emotions. "My friends really need me, sorry." That also came out slightly angry.

Gira looked over at Cloud as he gave his response. His tone seemed a little off. Was that anger she sensed? The hybrid had no clue why the boy would be angry. She wondered if it had something to do with his friends? Gira was an innocent girl, so she wasn't really suspicious of Cloud's motives or his story. "Oh, don't worry about it. Hope things go okay with your friends." Gira very much preferred to take people at their word. Unless she had a real reason to distrust someone, she normally assumed that they were telling the truth. This probably made her susceptible to manipulation, but she hadn't really been the victim of such a thing. At least, not yet. Her best friend and "sister," Kaci had acted as the one to protect Gira from things like manipulation, but as the teen half-Saiyan branched out more than she ever had, she also left Kaci's protection.
This would likely result in Gira getting hurt, but it hadn't happened yet and Gira assumed it never would, so it would seem she would have to learn the hard way. The teen turned next to Verst. "Looks like it's gonna just be the two of us, then. Looking forward to it." She smiled at the Arcosian, then turned back to Cloud. "So, what's up with your friends? I hope it's nothing too serious." The teen hybrid was always the concerned type, asking questions about things in peoples' lives. This habit was especially strong with friends. She didn't really consider Cloud a friend, but he seemed nice enough, so she found herself concerned about how things were going in his life. Especially since it seemed a friend or friends of his might be in trouble with something.
Whatever it was, Gira interpreted it as the reason for Cloud's mood going south. As Gira conversed with these two, she noticed that she was getting hungry. She had an apple in her gi that she had been saving for later, so she dug in her top and pulled it out, taking a big bite of the juicy red sphere. The hybrid munched on her snack as she awaited Cloud's response.

Verst appreciated Gira's help. What Verst didn't appreciate was Cloud's apparent disdain for work. Verst was almost a master of reading body language after his many accounts of intimidation, Verst agreed with himself that Cloud must be hiding something. "I know Ginger Town... Who needs your help there, I'm sure that there's enough people there to help each other." Verst lied but he did it with confidence. "What's with your tone? Are you hiding something? All I ask is that you do some digging and I'll help train you. If not get out of here."
He turned to Gira and gave her a small head nod in approval. "Well if it is just us we just need to make this cave bigger, then alert people to it etc. etc. and hope the people here can assist with building and bringing materials." Verst said his eyes glazing over as he imagined the city, bustling with life cars and people moving round the streets like clockwork, ships leaving out of a mechanical hatch in the ceiling. It was glorious.
