The Halley Temple- It was said to be packed with priceless artifacts hidden away skilled thieves from dozens of millennia ago. Soy had been searching after the elusive shrine for so long, and had given up hope of finding it years ago. The tricky thing about finding the spacial sanctum was that it was located on a desolate comet, of all things. The treasure hunting brenchian speculated that the temple might have been part of a much larger planet that was destroyed, leaving it alone on a rock floating through space. And now, the ambiguous, arcane comet had began to orbit slowly around the dirtied asteroid planet known as Raiti-Zarco.
The howling comet above brought plenty of new hustle and bustle to Raiti-Zarco. Rumor spread about the treasure concealed deep within it's old walls- and the fact that some passing starships noticed a stone building jutting out of it was... odd. Further investigating some dated reports from her historian mother's records matched up with past records of the obscure treasure- Soy was convinced that this was the travelling asteroid that housed unimaginable treasures. Yet, plenty before Soy had tried to head off to the comet to attain it's hidden loot, but not a single soul had returned from it's darkened, ebony walls.
Until now.
"I-I'm telling you! That comet is accursed!" A voice echoed as Soy made her way through the plaza of one of Raiti-Zarco's small, dirty towns. The aged treasure hunter raised a brow, setting down several bags of groceries while making her way to the sounds of collected voices. Plenty of aliens, Herans, Kabochan, and even a few other Brenchians had come to investigate a battered ship that landed in the center of the town. A panicked white haired Earthling female dressed in blue and bronze garbs was housed inside the vessel, shaking as she continued her tale. "If there's any fortune in that... thing... it's impossible to attain. I tried, but me and my partner-- we..."
She trailed off, causing Soy's expression to sink to placid disappointment. Soy didn't see anyone else with her, so her "partner's" fate was safe to assume. "That temple has a life of it's own, I swear. If you go there, you'll perish too!" She proclaimed, pointing a finger to the distant rock in the skies above... Soy, though... She was only even more interested in what lay inside the inky black space rock now. "...Oh, grow up you little pansy." The yellow brenchian muttered to herself. She had heard of the horrors of war from her father, and had even been in a few battles herself over her hunting career. Earthlings had no spine, really.
"Well-- what's in there? Pah! You must have at least SEEN the loot!" A Heran snapped while Soy squeezed through the crowd. The fragile little Earthling remained silent, terrified uncertainty taking over her facial features. "Well?" The blue man snapped, slamming a hand down on the ship. "I don't care who or what's in there, that gold is all MINE!" The man yelled. He would have continued if it weren't for a mighty tug at the back of his tattered shirt. "Lighten up and bugger off, you fanny." Soy snapped, pointing a finger to the man. The heran's features twisted, though Soy was quick to raise her goggles off her eyes and pull the earthling girl in front of her to her feet. "Yo, there's a bar right down the block. I'm sure you can get your marbles together there." Soy pointed back. "It should be quiet at this hour."
The girl nodded, quickly heading off. Before anyone could give chase for any more information, the yellow brench cleared her throat, rallying the gathered crowd. "If you all want that loot, we can all head up there as a giant group or some shit." She spoke, causing several members of the crowd to smile. Soy narrowed her eyes- she knew that greedy grin all too well. "...And if you think you can take it all for yourself, you just have to get to it first. Capiche?" She pointed to the crowd again. "And you'll have to beat me there first- the only ACTUAL treasure hunter out of you knockers." Standing tall, Soy stared up at the black rock high above the group... Soy wasn't sure if she was be able to do this alone, with her own weakness as a Brenchian, though the hunter more than likely had the most experience out of everyone here. Turning back to the group, the Brenchian could only watch as several of the greedy goons began to stow off for the comet with a sigh. The human from earlier seemed awfully shaken, even for a species as fragile as them. Just what was up there...?

Being on the run was, to put it lightly, TERRIBLE. Sure every now she could find somewhere a bit out of the way and with a bit of work set up a reasonable disguise and a fake identity for a bit and sort-of settle in but as soon as they got a hint of her location it meant uprooting immediately, grabbing everything she could and jetting off somewhere new and far. Worst of all was that as she could not generally use her true identity outside of interacting with those she truly trusted it meant finding any sort of well paying work quite difficult. And that meant not being able to afford a proper space ship. Which meant not having any sort of ‘home’ no place to truly feel safe and no guaranteed way off-world. Worse yet was that any time she got close it was usually all ruined by their arrival and the need to get a ride off-world as quickly as possible which was generally not cheap at all. It was for that very reason that she was in such dire straits now, her trip off of Earth had been VERY expensive and the bastard hadn’t even dropped her off where she wanted! She was SUPPOSED to be hiding out on Shikk right now, sure the world belonged to the Saiyans but dammit if she was going to pay as much as he’d been asking she might as well end up somewhere NICE, somewhere with beaches. Instead the bastard had dropped her off on RAITI of all places, perhaps the literal exact opposite of Shikk, comparable only to the sandy hellhole that is Konats. With little money she was trapped here for the foreseeable future, but at least with Raiti being the sort of place it was she was unlikely to have to give a name for any work she did, even if that work ended up putting her in contact with distasteful people. As luck would have it though she’d heard that someone was trying to organize some sort of treasure expedition. Ordinarily such work would be beneath her but times were hard and her strength would make her an invaluable asset on such a mission, enough to possibly force the issue on a larger cut! Arriving a bit late to the party her hood pulled up to hide herself just a bit Quinzi was surprised as she heard a familiar boisterous voice, and with a bit of pushing to get herself near to the front she matched the voice to the equally familiar face. “Do you have room for one more?” Quinzi asked taking a step closer to the Brechian and pulling back her hood to give the wild haired woman a grin.

When it raided, it poured. Both figuratively, and literally. Clad in vibrant atire, sword at her hip, and a keytar slung across her back, a konatsian woman trudged her way down one of the streets of the many smaller towns of the unsavory asteroid. And even despite the town’s size, it still showed the hallmarks of a seedy inner city, with large electric billboards casting their light down, showing a variety of advertisements, and the din of the crowd and what passed for law enforcement here offering their ambient sound to the air. Normally Kasio would have reveled in the metropolitan environment, but she was down on her luck and low on funds, after her little juke box debacle the other day. She’d only had enough money to cover food and lodging ‘till the end of the week. And without a new job of some sort, she was going to find herself living skinny. Not that the concept was foreign to her, but she always preferred not to be in poverty. But to add to her troubles, the sound of distant thunder rolled by, and the soft pitter patter of light rainfall began to fill the air around her. Precipitation like this was hardly new to the asteroid, with the mist that seeped out from it’s core, light showers like this were a common occurrence. As such, the street designs typically took this into account by including awnings to catch and guide the rainfall away from the heads of the citizens who kept to the side walks. Shuffling over closer to the protection of the rain shields before noticing a small gathering of people dispersing up ahead. Usually gatherings like that meant a fight broke out, a tall tale was being spun, or an open casting call for work was taking place- or any number of those options at once. And given her recent poverty status, Kasio could scarcely afford to just ignore what was going on. From the looks of things, it appeared that some ship had touched down in the center of a plaza up ahead and that may have contributed to all the hubbub. Two notable individuals seemed to remain behind to talk to one another, while the other onlookers and hanger ons departed with varying expressions of dismay. The first being a largely built Brenchian woman with uniquely yellow skin, and a similarly curious arcosian with a green hue to her own skin tone was the second. Perhaps they knew each other, she thought, as she began to slowly approach the two. As she finally came into their general vicinity she sidled up near them, she began to instinctively size the two up as best she could. She knew very little about their species each, most of which tended to stay in the Arcosian Empire territories last she knew. Which made things all the more curious for her as to what would bring the typically proud arcosians and one of their vassals to this dark corner of the galaxy. Granted, if she only knew the truth behind the situation that was unfolding before her. “ Well, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say we had us a couple of tourists, eh? So, what brings you two to our dark corner of the galaxy? It’s not every day someone visits us way out here, let alone at this end of the rock, so colour me confused.” Her eyes flitted back between the two when she finally spoke, her tone calm, and cadence slow, as she wondered just what could have caught their interest. After all, it sure couldn’t have been for vacation- that’s just not something you did on Raiti-Zacro.

[ Thread PL: 9623] [ Heavy Weights Active] [ Weighted PL: 2405.75]
Raiti-Zacro, it was the proverbial flaming alleyway dumpster of the galaxy. A hive of morally defunct scum and villains as well as a hidey-hole for the pathetically downtrodden that were once paragons of justice. Truly it was a deplorable place... Yet it was not where knowledge went to die. In fact it was more along the lines of the opposite; it was where certain kinds of knowledge went to thrive. Rumors, legends, blackmail. Things that were meant to be kept secret, but inevitably spread around thanks to those that shouldn't be trusted to memorize a shopping list let alone respect that knowledge was power. For this reason, Ford appreciated the unique level of heedless stupidity that residents of Raiti-Zacro seemed to have; many of them were laughably easy to trick or work around in order to get worthwhile truths and information out of. Since his arrival, Ford had memorized the patterns of many gangster, snitches and mercenaries, and from monitoring many of them he had overheard something that was substantially more interesting than what he had uncovered so far, something that had come by Kanassa approximately two thousand years ago... In the sky above, upon an ancient comet there was the ancient Halley Temple, a mysterious monolith that was situated upon that ever moving chunk of rock. Besides its existence there was only one fact about it that could not properly be disputed. Whatever was in there could not be obtained. To Ford, it was just another mystery to be debunked, more knowledge for him to have that many more would not even get the chance to make an attempt at. 'Excellent.' The synthetic infiltrator had been among the crowd, scoping out the potential competition. Long gone was his Saiyan disguise in the late Creis Thunderhead. Now, he had assumed the form of a blond Brenchian gentleman. Everything about it was developed and designed by Ford himself from several components each cherry picked then meshed together. Effectively it was made out of the many hundreds and thousands of people he had seen since his activation, the disguise was thereby unique and arguably far superior to simply snatching some poor sap's identity for a joyride. As for a personality? Ford decided to go with an aloof smooth-talker. It wouldn't be too far from his own similarly cold (yet situationally passionate) personality so he could easily make it work with minimal effort. "Yo!" He called as he stepped forward and towards the trio of ladies that had begun to converse, noting that they eerily stood out from the rest of the rabble... Unrelated to whatever gaudy outfits any of them may be wearing of course. "Unlike those nimrods that buggered off just now, I don't see any shame in asking for help. Or in this case, offering. Safety in numbers and all that." The new voice that was produced for this character was as silky smooth as the personality that Ford thought up. He spoke in a manner that exuded confidence, yet he did not give way to arrogance. "You can call me Zutoh. Zutoh Zenryn." Ford greeted with a casual nudge of his glasses. "I suggest any small-talk be made on the way up there or we'll likely be dealing with corpses along with whatever else there is in that floating death-trap."

Soy let out a sigh, hands on her hips as she watched the dispersed crowd murmurr and bumble about. A few began to take off in their ships to the comet, which was now glowing a light red color due to it's entrance into the atmosphere. Hopefully it wouldn't crash onto the planet, though. That would be most defiantly bad. The yellow Brenchian pulled out her worn down spaceship's keys, and was about to take off as well to the comet temple, if it weren't for a familiar voice chiming in. Turning around just as a certain changeling lowered her hood, Soy was in for a rather pleasant surprise.
"Yo, Quinzi. It's been ages since I've seen you last!" Soy spoke back to her old friend with a toothy grin, though it quickly faded to a frown. She was somewhat aware of the green arcosian's... predicament, to say the very least. "...You're free to come aboard. How's the galaxy been treating you?" The hunter with the wild hair questioned, brow raised. Shaking her head soon after, she'd point a thumb back towards the distant space rock above. "Let's shove off soon. I'm not going to let some nobody beat me to that supposed treasure up there."
However, as luck would have it, yet another person made herself known- this one an enigma to Soy. Her neon clothing colors of choice were... questionable, at first glance. After questioning what they were doing on the asteroid, a blunt response from Soy would be had. "...I live here." She spoke, slumping over with a frown. Not the best place to live, but her little desolate corner of the asteroid was a home she begrudgingly lived in. Judging by her tone, it would be evident that she wasn't too happy with it also.
Aha! Yet another stranger. Just brilliant. Soy sighed, rubbing her nose at first. She really wasn't in the mood for more questions- not when there were many other people trying to get the temple's loot as they spoke. But, oddly enough, the fellow Brenchain, this one of a blue hue, offered his aid as well in the search. After some introductions, Soy would nod in response to his final remark. Time was limited if they didn't want to be beat to the supposed treasure. Though, to be honest, Soy didn't care about the loot anymore. Just a little fun for once would be nice. "Help accepted. I'm Soy- veteran treasure hunter."
With a quick press of a button on her keys, Soy's hunkered down spaceship flew over, landing on the ground. The Brenchian leaped in, leaving the cockpit glass open just in case any other flightless somebodies needed a lift. Eyeing the Konatsian, Soy would tilt her head. "I'm not sure who you are, but nobody comes to Raiti without a reason. If you're here for the goods, then you're welcome to hitch a ride with us." She shrugged. "Besides, there's finally something to do on this sorry rock. I wouldn't let that opportunity pass if I were you."

“It treats me about as well as it always has” Quinzi said with an exhasperated sigh, Soy being one of the few people she felt safe enough to keep some semblance of cotact with would know well enough how bad it was that Quinzi at least considered her treatment. “I am unfortunately stuck here for the time being, but at least I am stuck somewhere with someone I can trus. Perhaps whatever we find can go some ways to me finally purchasing a personal vehicle. I believe I am quite done relying on strangers” Quinzi said with a scowl as the memory of the fool who had dropped her here rose up again. Perhaps if she was lucky she’d run into him again and teach him why one should never cross an Arcosian. Unfortunately in the brief time they had been talking and not moving on two others had arrived and decided to join up with them, it took quite a lot for Qunzi not to cringe at the thought of working with these two unknown factors. The pink haired woman was at least correct in her assumption that Quinzi was not native (and Quinzi had mixed feelings on if she was pleased with that) “as Soy said she lives here, I am simply visiting her” Quinzi said and then promptly joined Soy inside her ship hoping that her departure from the conversation and the pressing interest in moving on to the hunt would cover any questions on her identity.
