Jack was back. A ghastly effigy of rags, with a gaseous dark figure beneath an elongated cowl, levitated in a vast thicket of a corn field. Smiling happily with sharpened elongated teeth, the spirit let out a happy chuckle as he seemed to take a deep breath of the mortal world. The nightmare of his eternal hangover in the depths of hell had been replaced by a feeling of sloshed bliss, he was in very high spirits. The act of escaping hell this time, had been a matter of luck. He had been wandering the plains of the outlands and noticed this cornfield in the distance. Upon its entry, Jack looked behind him to find the plains of the afterlife no longer behind his back, and the sky above him was dark and full of stars.Jack floated around for quite a bit aimlessly giggling in a stupor. His cackles, unbeknownst to himself, sounded horrid and echoed across the cornfield into the nearby village. Happily, the ghost discarded his hooded rages, showing his bare form. His entity was dark and wispy with a tail that came from his midsection down. He began to float across the cornfield, his form causing plants to rustle. Jack hadn't a plan for what he would do next, for now he seemed to be happy that he just didn't feel hung over any more.Meanwhile, a farmer by the name of Salisbury was working late into the evening. Thick and a bonafide country-man, he wore a straw hat and overalls. Torchlight lit the back porch of his meager farm house, and he was shucking corn stocks and placing them into a wagon by his porch as he whistled merrily. He heard the sound of rustling and laughter coming from his corn field, and he stopped whistling for a moment. As his whistling stopped there was silence, and farmer Salisbury removed his hat and scratched at his head and began to whistle yet again. Then, yet another sound of laughter rang through the air. The man stopped his tune again."What in tarnation?" Salisbury rang as he stood up and straightened his hat back onto his head. He grabbed a shotgun from his porch and began making a move towards the cornfield. "You damn kids better get out of there!" he yelled as he angrily walked towards his cornfield. He quickly rushed towards the rustling, passing through many rows of corn. After he had searched for several moments he found nothing."Damn kids..." Mr. Salisbury repeated as he began to walk away from the cornfield. He then froze as he felt a chill against his back and the sound of another giggle right behind his neck. Slowly the man turned around to meet the face of Jack, who grinned and waved at the man."Hello buddy!" Jack said with a wave at the farmer and a smile. "Got anything good to drink?""G-g-ghost!" Salisbury yelled as he took a wild shot from his gun into the air before dropping his rifle and turning tail. As he fled, his straw hat fell off of his head. Jack himself was confused, moving to pick up the rifle and the hat, placing the hat on his head."Hey Mishter, you forgot your... shtuff!" Jack yelled back, followed by another involuntary drunken giggle. "I'll hold onto it for you,"-Several minutes later, farmer Salisbury came running into the nearby settlement of Gingertown. Most folks had fallen asleep in their beds."GHOST! WE ARE IN DANGER!" the farmer cried. "THERE IS A GHOST IN MY CROP, COME TO KILL US ALL!"13,200 pl (x12 active). No weights. Zeni Reward.
