Ais was fast asleep in his bed on his spaceship floating through deep space. His father had died recently and he had taken on his role as King. Though that title meant little now. The land they once held was gone and almost the entirety of their army had been decimated. Still, Ais had big plans. He would rebuild their military might to be stronger than ever, then he would get their land back and take the entire planet while he was at it. The young lord's sleep was interrupted by the voice of his father's former bodyguard, Cello.
"Lord Ais! Please, my lord! Wake up!" The blue Frost Demon opened his eyes and groaned groggily.
"Whoever that is, i'm going to throw you into the deepest reaches of space while I have my morning coffee." He sat up and rubbed his eyes sleepily.
"Forgive me, my lord. But you must wake up. It's a coup, my lord. The men are on their way now to kill you." The Namekian had his sword drawn. So he was serious then. Ais sighed and got out of bed, donning his bio armor.
"Why aren't you with them, Cello? I'm certain they're not after you." Ais looked up at the significantly taller Namekian.
"I can't betray you, my lord. I owe you and your father everything." He said with a nervous smile. He wasn't good at opening up like that.
"Indeed." Ais replied simply, but gave him a small smile to show that he appreciated the sentiment. Then he heard it; footsteps. Shouting too. "Here they come. Are you ready, Cello?"
"Actually, my lord... I was hoping I could get you to surrender. You are far stronger than they are individually, but they outnumber us by a lot. I fear that fighting will mean your death and I won't be able to stop it."
"You doubt my power?" Ais glanced over at his green-skinned compatriot.
"Not at all. More so I doubt my own power. Please, my lord. If we surrender, we can get stronger and exact revenge. I am with you until the end. No matter what that end is. Exile or death, I will be at your side. So please. Just surrender." Ais was looking like he was actually considering it for a moment. They were outnumbered 15 to 1. Individually, Ais and his bodyguard could take them out easily. But they were a force to be reckoned with when united.
"Very well, Cello. I'll trust you on this one." Just as Ais agreed, the men burst into his room, palms extended and aimed at him. Ais scowled at the assembled soldiers. "To what do I owe the... pleasure?" The head of the group spoke. It seemed he was chosen as the leader.
"I am Arbus, Lord Ais. I am here to take over this ship. Surrender or die. It's that simple." He looked over at Cello. "You can still join us, Cello. You don't have to share his fate."
"I'm sorry, Arbus. My place is with the son of King Kuul. He is going to surrender though, so you can lower your palms." He imposed himself between the men and Ais. Arbus appeared surprised at this.
"Really? You're going to surrender?" He looked at his former lord skeptically. The frost demon looked each man in the eye.
"Yes. I surrender." He said in almost a hiss.
"You heard him. Allow us exile. We will not fight you." Cello sheathed his sword on his back.
"But where will you go? Back home? You'll be slaughtered immediately." He took a single step closer, prompting Cello to do the same.
"Take us to Namek. It is my home. You'll never hear from us again." The Namekian remained strong throughout the whole ordeal, never breaking eye contact and speaking with confidence and strength. Arbus thought about it for a moment, then waved down the men, making them lower their guard.
"Okay, Cello. You've convinced me. There need not be bloodshed." After that, they were led to the brig, where they were held prisoner during the journey to Namek. A couple of weeks later, they were being herded outside onto the blue grass of the little planet. Given nothing for their journey than what they had on their backs, they were abandoned at the landing zone. Ais looked back to where they took off.
"Ungrateful bums! Space swine! When I get off this godforsaken rock, i'm going to find you and tear you apart limb from limb, mark my words!" The Arcosian shouted at the sky and fumed, then began stomping through the blue grass of Planet Namek's fields. Cello, was beside him, keeping an eye out for any of his fellows.
"Yes, Lord Ais." The Namekian was trying to block out his lord's anger and find a solution to their problem. That was his normal role. He wouldn't admit it, but Ais wouldn't be able to dress himself in the morning without him. He was happy to be with him, though. He was no traitor, so when the elite soldiers came to him and asked for his help to overthrow Ais, he had to decline and protect him instead. Betrayal sure stung. He joined King Kuul, Ais's father, to get away from things like this. But here he was. Betrayed again. "My lord, we should look for a village. My people are kind. We can find refuge."
"Seriously, Cello? I don't need help from these Namekians. I can solve this problem myself." Ais was too proud to admit it, but he was happy Cello was with him. It seemed that loyalty to one's Lord only mattered to him. He heard Namekians were honorable folk. Perhaps the surprise wasn't warranted. Still, having a former Warrior-caste Namekian at his side was a relief. He could handle whatever came their way, of course, but backup was always a good thing. Cello had proven himself time and again over the years under his father's command and in the short time the Namekian was under his command. He would remember Cello's loyalty when the galaxy was under his heel.
As the pair came over a cliff, Cello pointed out a small grouping of buildings below. It was a Namekian village. Ais grinned to himself. Home sweet home. "Stay here and stand guard, Cello. I shall return shortly." He left his bodyguard behind on purpose so that he wouldn't have to kill his own kind. That was what Ais intended to do after all, and the Arcosian knew that Cello would do it if he ordered it, but Ais felt like he owed him a little for saving his life and all that.
As the frost demon approached the village, the farmers turned to look at him, then an elderly man that Ais surmised was a man of authority, took a break from playing with the children to meet him on the outskirts.
"I know not your face, stranger. State your business." This Namekian was elderly, leaning on a cane for support. Ais almost felt bad that he had to kill him.
"I'm here to commandeer your village as a base of operations. It's a little tacky, but once I clear those buildings, I can get something a little more stylish." The elder gripped his cane tighter.
"W-What? Listen, leave in peace now and we won't call our warrio--" The old man didn't even get to finish his sentence before Ais extended his index finger at him and fired a thin blue beam of ki through his heart. The old man gasped, purple blood coming from his mouth as he staggered backwards and fell to the ground, much to the shock of the villagers.
"You're annoying." Ais scowled at the elder's body. The farmers and children were quick to run from the village, but three young, strong Namekians flew quickly to meet the invader. One of them checked to see if the old man was still alive. He wasn't of course. Ais made sure of that.
"H-How dare you?" The Namekian trembled in anger. Ais gave them a smile.
"He was beginning to grow tiresome. As are you. I'd follow the example of the rest of your friends and scurry off before you end up like him." The Namekian that checked the elder's vitals was the first to attack. He lunged at Ais, his fist drawn back.
"You bastard!" Ais caught his fist, chuckling as he began to trade blows with the warrior. The Arcosian was stronger, but once the other two joined in, the battle started to turn against him. He could handle one of them. Maybe even two. But three sets of punches were difficult to dodge and he was beginning to get pushed back. Ais flew into the sky to put some distance between them.
"You... are really starting to tick me off. You want to play games? That's fine. Just know that I play to win!" He braced himself and focused, a blue and black aura surrouinding his body as he began to groan with effort. The groan eventually grew to a full-blown scream as a light enveloped the Arcosians body. His bio armor was disintegrated as the metamorphosis was completed. The Arcosian grew slightly in height and his blue skin turned white. His horns retreated into his head, leaving only his blue crystal dome. Ais smirked and got into his battle stance. "Come at me with your full power."
The Namekians froze for a moment. Finally, one of them got the courage to step forward and flew at the Arcosian with an angry battle cry. He didn't get far, however, since Ais extended his finger and fired his Execution Beam through the young Namekian's leg. The boy screamed in pain as the beam pierced his limb. Ais fired another at his other leg. Then another. Then another. Eventually, he could't keep airborne and fell to the ground. The other two looked frightened, but charged Ais all at once. With a confident smirk on his face, Ais dodged and deflected all of their blows, striking one on the side of the neck, snapping it like a twig with a big "CRACK!" The other attacked blindly and wildly with a long and angry cry, but Ais kicked him in the stomach, breaking his ribs and then fired an Execution Beam right through his heart.
The cruel demon landed, calmly walking over to the young warrior he injured earlier. He was on the ground, bleeding out from several wounds Ais gave him. He tried to crawl away, but Ais stepped on his leg, eliciting a loud cry from the Namekian. Ais used his foot to flip him over on his back, the aimed his index finger at him. "You know... I might like it here." With that, Ais finished the warrior off with his Execution Beam Finisher. Ais cleared the bodies as well as the buildings with a large ki blast to prepare it for when he eventually makes his base. Afterwards, he retrieved Cello from the cliff and the two set to work making camp. Ais looked out at the rest of the planet that he could see. Perhaps this was just the start of a new empire. Not only would he follow in his father's footsteps, he would outdo him. Soon, all would know and fear the name "Ais."
"Lord Ais! Please, my lord! Wake up!" The blue Frost Demon opened his eyes and groaned groggily.
"Whoever that is, i'm going to throw you into the deepest reaches of space while I have my morning coffee." He sat up and rubbed his eyes sleepily.
