A certain hybrid rested beneath a familiar tree. Beside a thin road, the tree stood awkwardly before an open field. The hybrid "warrior" Celmaru Waterfield was slumped atop the tree's roots; contemplating nothing in particular. Thoughts wandered aimlessly, each providing ceaseless torment and worry alike. Despite what Phae had suggested, he remained away from her. Disregarding what Taveon and Aelron had noted, he continued to ignore them and their claims, pleas, etc. Between stubborn idiocy and ignorant claims of content conditions, the hybrid sat once again; alone. Solitude. Relief, yet what horror it brings on its own. A palm was guided to meet his gaze. Lazily shuffling to stare upon his hand, a thin, wispy string of Ki twirled about. The string intensified, expanding and erupting outwards; a gauntlet soon took its place. The claws of the gauntlet concealed seemingly innocent fingers. Almost symbolic, the hybrid thought. "Bah." The palm was slumped onto the earth beneath him, the gauntlet dissipating. What use had this been? It had only been since he aggravated Articho that Celmaru was able to complete the "set" of "armor" he somehow was able to create himself. Everything felt inconsistent; unpredictable and horrendously wrong. The hybrid felt too ashamed to face his family, never in hell to console anyone else either, most likely. Aggression against the Earth and yet some persistently pathetic reasoning to keep it alive; was he a hypocrite? A moron? Perhaps even some unfathomably unrealistic, idealistic child? What was he doing? Why was he trying? Everything failed whenever he tried, those around him likely despised him for what failing outcries he made, the actions he took; the mistakes he couldn't control.
'What kind of shit-stain am I, I wonder.'
Oh boy here we go with the edge. :V Defrosch

[ Thread PL: 78,483] [ UT] Liquid Ki - Mist Active! Ki suppressed to 10000]
Like any other day, the sun would shine and the birds would sing. The grass would slowly grow, and the children of the world would laugh and play. In ginger town it was no different. Within the open field there was a small basketball court that sat next to the thin dirt road. Youngsters of many species- no older than twelve- had gathered together to play a game of basketball! Several adults were present, either parents, team coaches or even a combination of both. "Alright, good job, everyone! Keep it up!"
Among the coaches, was Defrosch. He held out his hand for a high-five chain for four of the kids; two girls and two boys. A Saiyan, Susheian, Majin and Human respectively. they were all wearing black shirts with a teal circle on the back with a number inside it. Defrosch himself was wearing a black sleeveless vest but instead of a number he had the letter C embroidered in the teal circle on the back. "You lot go have lunch. We'll be back on the court in fourty-five minutes." The Arcosian gave a warm smile as he directed the four youths towards a snack table that was being looked after by several other adults. "Aw yeah!! Thank you Mister Defrosch!!" The Saiyan girl bumped her fists together and immediately yanked the Majin and Human boys along by the hands leaving the Susheian girl to chuckle awkwardly, looking between her coach and the snack-table. "I donno how she has so much energy, its scary, but also awesome!" Defrosch shrugged slightly in response. "Heh, just be glad shes on your team eh, Ebii? Go join em before they don't leave any apple juice for you~!"With a gasp, the kid would immediately zoom off to the snack table, leaving Defrosch to his own break. A few moments ago he could sense a familiar energy; that of Celmaru come to rest nearby, just a few paces down the road. 'Couldn't hurt to have a chat for a bit-'The Arcosian moved along, he raised an eyebrow as he heard the hybrid-Saiyan's indignant sigh. There was a swell of ki coming from him for a moment; but it was as if Celmaru just wasn't into it. Something wasn't right. "Yo. Could practically hear you sighing from just up the road. You okay?"

The cries of children were suddenly audible from down the road. Thoughts of his own children invaded the hybrid's mind. What was he to even do with them? Phae had been constantly looking after them; what had he done thus far? Celmaru shut his eyes tightly, brows further pressing them in a desperate, albeit pathetic attempt to shut the noise out. For a brief moment, it appeared as if the sound did indeed vanish; yet it only dimmed, soon to be replaced by another. A seemingly familiar Ki approached him. 'Don't, don't --'Defrosch had attempted to speak to him. 'Dammit.'The hybrid's cranium lazily rolled to face the arcosian. Previously furrowed brows shifted upwards, yet went a bit too far ; the outer brow soon ceased, with the inner brow rising unnecessarily. Celmaru swiftly rammed his brows back down. A palm swept across his facial features, swiping away imperfections, albeit fruitlessly. "Everything's fine. Just --"Another weakness."Just go back to whatever you were doing."Pathetic.Afterthoughts, doubts; there they were again. The hybrid thought he was rid of them, especially so since Phae had nose-dived into his life. Why now must they return? Super Saiyan Two, the children, his non-existent social life, those damned ancestors; what the hell is next? Aelron suggested therapy, both physical and mental. Like hell he needs that. Celmaru soon waved a dismissive palm at Defrosch...albeit after a moment of staring at the ground. A rapid blink returned the hybrid from his thoughts as he did so. Defrosch didn't need to involve himself with all this...or that. Defrosch

Defrosch's tongue clicked. It was like looking into a weird Saiyan hybrid shaped mirror that reflected a past version of himself. 'I'll take that as noooo...' The Arcosian stretched, casually holding his hands behind his head with his elbows pointing upwards. "Hey, I am still technically doing what I was doing earlier, except I'm here. See, the thing is I'm on whats called a break. Sounds like you should give yourself one of those every once in a while." He paused awkwardly, almost jumping as he heard the excited cheers of the kids that were playing around nearby. One voice roared above the lot of them; it was the Saiyan girl, her energy was seemingly never-ending. The source of the excitement was the troop being entertained by the Majin lad's magical tricks. "Before you ask; don’t worry, it’s normal. The Majin boy, Illius, he asks his pop to teach him magic tricks, and he sometimes makes a show out of it for his friends. As you can probably tell, his biggest fan is the loudest. Thats Lerya." Of course, the Human boy and Susheian girl were still excited, from here one could almost mistake their eyes sparkling from awe! "Ebii and Stewart dig it too, of course. Heh~" A sense of pride came over the Arcosian. Among others, he had worked with these kids for a while now, and he was glad that they ended up as such a great team, despite some rocky beginnings. Be it due to their long gone anger issues, self doubt, maybe even their lack or loss of self confidence. That was when the Arcosian got an idea. "Say, Celmaru." He looked over to the downtrodden hybrid. "Ever play basketball before?" Celmaru Waterfield doot

A break. Wasn't that to be expected? Wouldn't ever be that simple. The hybrid shot his eyes aside, seemingly refusing to answer, albeit eventually doing so. "I'd say I had enough of one after roughly six years of wandering the wilderness. Even then, I was trying to handle something that wasn't even a threat in the end. That was plenty of my life well spent, wasn't it?"The hybrid's tone sounded almost entirely bitter. A forceful exhale escaped his nostrils. How ridiculous of him. Yet, the shrieks of the children brought up further memory. This time, a rather recent predicament invaded Celmaru's mind. The responsibility of a legitimate adult, a conundrum that would last two decades, at least; children. Excitement emanated from the group of children nearby, with echoes of eternally damned outcries of pseudo-horror wailing in the night...simply raging within the hybrid's mind. There was love to be had for the little devils, yet one responsibility stood atop the other, some even toppling onto Phae. The comment on Defrosch's front startled the hybrid back into reality. "...!"There was an evident flinch as the arcosian spoke of the children. "G-Great."How nice of him to take the time to handle other children. Unfortunately, the blare of infants still rang throughout the hybrid's mind. The hybrid sat up somewhat, grasping a thick branch as he did so. Soon slumping over, Celmaru took a brief glance at the nearby court. How gleeful they all seemed. Then, the inquiry regarding basketball came up. A bit of an odd question to ask, isn't it? Unfortunately, that didn't truly apply to the inquiry; the hybrid was married to what was seemingly seaweed. "No. I, er...haven't."It was nigh-blasphemous, given how active Saiyans supposedly are. A sport, of all things, ignored! "Last I tried any sport some teenagers dumped old jelly from a Majin's shop on me. There was a whole barrel of it.""...Other times I was just booed off the court, or the sand lot -- whatever the hell they're called."
"I think the only reason I'm even in shape is because my Father did constant training with me, forcefully enacted or not."Another thought occurred. "Either way, I'm not going to risk harming any children over my ineptitude."
"So no, and no thank you."The hybrid then mumbled s oftly, his canine teeth jabbing at one another briefly.
"I'd sooner meet Phae's Mother."
Holy balls I almost went past my personal month-to-post deadline. Hopefully this will be sufficient for now. Gotta work for the slam jam, Eddo. :V Defrosch

"Yeah. Because you're alive." Defrosch cut in sternly. "There is little sense in aiming for some perceived ideal of perfection. So what if you faff about for a while? Who honestly cares? We make mistakes. Some more readily apparent than others, some with more lasting impact than others. But do you know what else we do?" He paused, as if awaiting Celmaru's response. "We learn, because we are more than our mistakes."Defrosch shrugged, watching as the kids continued playing around. A few members of the other teams had joined in and now they were all playing a game of tag. There was merriment and laughter, confusion and chaos all haphazardly wrapped up in a parcel of innocence. Much like Celmaru and Defrosch, these children also made mistakes, had their own shortcomings. Yet even still, they learned to live beyond them. Speaking of mistakes, it seemed Celmaru had his fair share of bullies. "That sucks dude, yikes... I can only hope those dunderheads grew up and stopped acting like that by now. Even if they didn't, they still have time. Maybe." At the mention of Celmaru's father and his allegedly forceful training regimen, Defrosch cringed. It was all too familiar, his own father; Sleete acted similarly. However, after his time on Earth, Defrosch had some faith in that man now. Perhaps he was even ready to forgive him. "We're not all that different then, you and I, eh?"Of course, Celmaru had to dig himself a bit further into the pity trench. "Never said I'd put you against the kids now did I? Nah dude, you'd playing against me. I can match your current strength, if you're so worried about that."The Arcosian hero flinched when Celmaru mentioned he'd rather meet Phae's mother. "... You're lucky neither of them are around to hear you say that." Celmaru Waterfield , there shall be slam, and also jam. soon™

With Defrosch cutting in, the hybrid took pause. The idea of a desperately searching for the ideal sort of perfection, as redundant as it may be, was admittedly akin to what he'd been doing. Yet, Celmaru was practically compared to such a damned thing. Alas, he was only Human; of course he'd be Human. Then there was the subject of mistakes. Wasn't there an infinite amount of tripe to spew on that matter. "Yes, and because I'm such an emotionally driven, utterly broken bastard, Zucceta, Bing Gan, and the Premier surely cannot ever tolerate my existence; much like everyone else. You say we learn because we're greater than our mistakes. Have you considered that I believe my birth, followed by my existence, is very much a grave mistake?"With what glare there was, the hybrid's gaze soon shifted away to stare at the foliage before him. "Can't really learn to exist better can I?"Celmaru's tone became flat, further wallowing in his pity-party. Besides the self-loathing, there was plenty more of that to pass out. Whilst Defrosch responded to the topic of past bullies, the hybrid remained silent. They all heard of Saiyans; reacting the same way Humanity did to those that were different than them. They wanted the difference to be rid of itself. Surely they did. Then...the suggestion of a lacking difference. A blank gaze fell over the hybrid's eyes. "Yes of course, some humanoid dumbass with mixed genetics and a purebred arcosian from Kami-knows where, if not Arcose, aren't so different. Wonderful."Sarcasm emanated from the final word. Regardless, it was partially relieving that the kids wouldn't be involved. That would just be further regret, surely. Yet it was to be only against Defrocsh? The hybrid exhaled harshly out his nostrils. Fine; perhaps he was indeed feeling just that kind today. Celmaru lurched forward, guiding himself upward to stand. Fists briefly tensed before relaxing. A rather unmotivated look glanced upon the arcosian. "...Let's hope I don't break the ball by tapping it too roughly."
Well, the slam and the jam will happen eventually TM. This took too long, I apologize Defrosch

Celmaru's glare would be met with Defrosch's unblinking disinterest. The Arcosian saw a lack of outward aggression in the hybrid's eyes, thereby explaining the way his words were going; towards himself. Celmaru was no more angry at Defrosch than he was at the tree next to them, or a ladybug that fluttered by than he was angry at himself. This guy needed help. Maybe professional help. First, regular help would have to be attempted, just to see if anyone could get through to him. "Wait, why d'you care about what they think? If you say you don't then why did you mention them specifically?" Defrosch raised an eyebrow, partially intrigued as to why those three were name-dropped and otherwise concluding Celmaru had another encounter with them beyond that meeting on the Lookout. For whatever daft reason, Celmaru seemingly believed that he was hated by all that knew him. That was a load of crap, if Phae alone was any indication. "Say what you want, but I don't hate you." It was obvious in his tone that Defrosch readily believed that Celmaru could 'exist better', as the hybrid so elegantly put it. Snark in response to the comment detailing a lack of difference between the two was expected. Nearly welcomed in fact, and made doubly more satisfying when Celmaru only spoke of what made them different on a surface level. Oh, he was going to learn today. "You'll understand at some point." Defrosch simply shrugged in response, a sly expression creeping across his face as he floated back towards the basketball court, signalling for Celmaru to wait. "S'cuse me, one sec." The children were still being looked after by other coaches at the moment, Defrosch approached one of them; an adult Namekian that was quite muscular a bit on the short side, and asked a favor. "Yo, Gilni, I'm gonna have a quick game with a buddy of mine, think you can keep these kiddos entertained for a bit longer?" To which Gilni gave a short nod. "Cheers dude." Defrosch picked up a spare basketball on the way back to Celmaru, twirling it around on a finger, before tossing it over to the tip of his tail, where it continued to spin. "Should I match your strength or do you wanna match mine? I'm good for either." Celmaru Waterfield Jam, With A Chance Of Slam™ is increasing

"I have my reasons. Nothing for you to bother with, regardless."The hybrid didn't desire to bother with details. The memory alone, specifically as to why he would mention those three, was sickening. Yet, the changeling moved onwards, stating that he didn't despise him; for whatever reason that may be. The hybrid only grunted in a disblieving dismissal. That tone of his only held the urge for Celmaru to dismiss such a statement even further. As if such an ideal sort of immediate neutrality was readily available for him. With such a firm reply a short time later, however, left the hybrid apprehensively curious. What ludicrous scheme was he plotting behind such an expression? Bah, no matter. Perhaps he hoped to prove him wrong in some humiliating fashion. Who knows; it may very well be plausible that Celmaru could avoid such a fate. Gazing upon the arcosian as he floated towards the court, the hybrid trudged along. Finding himself crossing the street with a reluctant stride, Celmaru hastily swept his eyes along those nearby. The children and a Namekian, of course, were of note as Defrosch spoke to them. Odd; Celmaru had only seen rather large, bulkier Namekians before. Reminding himself that he was signaled to wait, the hybrid stood upright, albeit awkwardly so. It appeared forced, of all things. A moment passed; now with Defrosch twirling a ball about on his finger...then his tail. Oh how wonderfully amusing that was, truly. Then a rather standard inquiry was brought upon Celmaru. With that dangling before them both, the hybrid began to suppress his Ki to a rather minuscule level. Eventually, it drooped far below the changeling; perhaps even to a lesser point than most amateur martial artists! "We're not destroying anything. Leave it at something below a few thousand."
The hybrid then murmured.
"Don't trust myself anyway."
Kerblammo we did it...after a month. I didn't even mean for it to take this long Defrosch I swear. ;-; Ki Suppression active! PL is currently 500!

"I think you know for certain I've got a habit of meddling sometimes~" Defrosch smirked as he further suppressed the potency of his ki to the same level as Celmaru had done. The smirk stayed as the Arcosian transferred the spinning ball back from the tip of his tail back to the tip of one of his fingers. He let it slow down and caught it in both hands. Gilni, the Namekian from earlier wandered over, nodding to both Celmaru and Defrosch. "I'll be the one to throw the ball into play, if that is okay with you both?" Of course, Defrosch had no issue with this, so he waited for a moment to get Celmaru's input. Should the Hybrbid's response be be positive (or if he hesitated, whichever of the two happened first) Gilni would then receive the basketball from Defrosch. Gesturing to the center of the court with the tilt of his head, Defrosch stood on one side of the center circle, waiting for Celmaru. Gilni followed suit, but stood on the line that divided the court, and just a bit outside of the circle, ready to bring the ball into play when the two were ready. While Defrosch didn't exactly hear what Celmaru muttered to himself, he could easily theorize that it was something self deprecating or negative given the Hybrid's disposition. 'He didn't seem like someone particularly enthusiastic about fighting every other time I've met him, and he doesn't strike me as the type to be completely allergic to regular mundane activities, so what was his deal..?' Defrosch idly assessed the situation thus far. When Celmaru was ready, the ball would be thrown upwards. Defrosch's eyes locked onto Celmaru's as the ball came down, now ready for either of them to snatch up and start running to the hoops on their opponent's side of the court. It was time to slam.
Defrosch kept his wits about him, but he wanted to see how Celmaru would go about this; so he was effectively giving the dreary and sullen Hybrid the first move in a similar manner that a teacher would a potential student.
