In this thread, i'll be detailing a totally non-canon crazy idea I had where Basil is struck with the Evil Containment Wave and sealed inside a video game that just freshly hit the Earth's markets; Pocket Fighters: Aloha!. In this totally non-canon and just for laughs thread, the Nuzlocke will be from the viewpoint of Basil. Finding his powers and fighting prowess are moot in this strange new world, he will find out soon into the journey that if his team of strange creatures is bested and he has none left to rely on, the cycle resets and continues. Will Basil be able to do it? Can he find it in his silly, drunken, conniving heart to actually make...friends? Or will they become pawns to serve the means to an end for his own freedom?

POCKET FIGHTERS: ALOHA!
''More like friggin' Pocket Mooks.''
Da Mooks and Mookettes
Pokey - Male - Naive - Good endurance - LV 8 - Oblivious
Pokey is the first companion of Basil's and is considered his starter fighter. Wields the Quick Claw.
True Name: None Yet
Chitters - Female - Naughty - Likes to thrash about - LV8 - Gluttony
Captured through a creative tandem effort of Basil's wacky creativity and Pokey's body-slamming Tackle attack.
True Name: None Yet
None....yet.

Also crippling Basil in his journey of freedom are a set of binding rules; if these rules are broken, his current cycle is rendered null and he must repeat the cycle anew.
1. The first Pocket Fighter (Mook) he sees is the only one eligible for capture. If he already owns that Fighter, he can try once more to encounter a new kind of Fighter in that same area. If it is again a duplicate of a Fighter he already has on his team, he must either capture it anyway or have nothing.
2. Once a Fighter is knocked out, they will dematerialize and have their data permanently deleted from the video game (death).
3. Nicknames: Granting a Fighter a True Name (nickname) is the only way to bring out their full potential, a potential realized through a bond with its Coach. Every Fighter requires a True Name. (If anyone wants to claim a catch with their own nickname, simply post and i'll tag it. First come first serve! S'only fair. )
4. Battle Points: Battle Points, or BP, is what allows teams of Pocket Fighters to grow together even if only one battles. As per standard Basil luck, his copy was a bootleg. Each Pocket Fighter's connection to the Battle Point network is severed; they are on their own, and their victories and feats are theirs alone. (No XP Share)
5. Zone System: Zone System refers to the areas of the game that are split into multiple areas that are very large; when entering large portions of these areas, Basil may find himself granted the ability to recruit another Pocket Fighter to his cause. (In S/M, there are HUGE routes. As EGG did, my inspiration for this as well as several others on-site, I will note when this effect kicks in.)
6. Revival. Once a Pocket Fighter perishes in this digital world, their existence breaks down into shimmering flecks of data which scatter into the sky. While an item called ''Revival'' exists and can be found or bought, the blessed bootleg Basil is sealed into seeks to teach him a lesson in humility. When Basil touches such an item, it will immediately break down into useless, digital dust. (No Revivals, found or bought)
7. Alternate Starter: To be frank, when Basil arrived he was given the same treatment as every other wannabe Coach. He had his pick of one of three starting partners. However, Basil being Basil led to these individuals to nearly revoke the offer. Picking a disgustingly cute little seal looking thing, it ran away within the first few hours to seek out a different Coach. Basil was forced to improvise. (A personal rule of mine. You can have a starter, and ONLY a starter, until you catch a replacement that you want. You then bank or release the starter as if it had fainted. After your new ''starter'' is established, then you can catch others.)

''Pah! Ya fink yer da firs' one 'ta try and best da almighty Basil!?''
Punctuating his words with a punch to the gut, the monk keeled over loosing a glob of spittle with a few flecks of blood. The little imp's last energy attack had washed over him like a burning storm; the Palooka Bazooka, he'd called it. Burns, bruises, scratches, and softened, broken flesh giving way to shattered bone littered the Earthling's body. This...creature, had bested his Master, and now it appeared he would suffer the same fate.
But he had one option.
A technique considered so pure yet so foul at the same time; the ability to truly give your life for a higher power, a deeper meaning, and a greater good. It was called the Evil Containment Wave; when the darkness pitted against you was so great that it made more of an impact to lock it away rather than die a futile death. However, the technique required a container; a container that this junior exorcist didn't have access to. The city block had mostly been cleared, but a boy no older than ten stood on the street corner watching the exchange distracted from his brand-spankin' new several thousand zeni handheld. Snugly fitted into the cartridge slot of this shiny, sparkling, fresh off the shelf TenBao 3 was none other than its super-hyped debut game, Pocket Fighters: Alola. The cartridge looked...different, somehow. It was shoddily decorated with a mockery drawing of the game's actual box art and signed with initials.
Brilliance struck the monk.
Whirling his hands in a confusing but forceful formation, even now he began to feel his life leave his body. Having confidently tanked everything this nerd threw at him so far, Basil stood defiantly before the storm. That would prove to be a mistake. A flash of light enveloped his body as he began whipping about along with the wind as if he weighed less than paper, and was flung straight at the boy who promptly used his TenBao 3 as a shield. Screaming and kicking, Basil was sucked into the device but not before relishing in the satisfaction of that dweebus collapsing. Woo! Another win for Basil! When will humans ever learn!?

Shortly after, things went black. He couldn't remember much.
