A dark, heavy magic hung in the air. It was thick, like a poisonous smog, making it harder to maneuver through the ruins of the Kashvarr's fortress. This place had once been a place of mystery and grand power, but due to Plato's actions, it was a ghost town. Whatever vile plots had been invented in the depths behind these stones had been lost for the rest of time. Breech hovered above the castle's remains, his eyes scanning the rubble of the front entrance critically. It was once coated in a magic of some kind; an enchantment, perhaps. Maybe it used to prevent the unwanted from coming in. If a Kashvarrian wizard were here, perhaps he would be able to shed light on the truth behind it.
As the Good Doctor descended from the sky, streams of data ran across his eyes. He was checking his personal logs, looking for any information he had on this group. He hadn't been able to find much hard truth on them. Most of his information on the Kashvarr was simply rumor and heresay. The only concrete thing about them was their immense knowledge of the magical arts.
Breech caught a glimpse of something in the debris. The mysterious shining item was hidden beneath a crumbled support beam. With a quick burst of Ki to eliminate the stones, Breech revealed the item. It was a strange box, coated in gold. It glimmered brightly in the early morning sunlight. His Magic Detection Suite was blaring intensely; this thing was caked in magic. Whatever lay inside was not supposed to come out. "Such a curious trap..." He tossed the box to a nearby camera drone, which buzzed back to home base to inspect the enchanted box.
His attention turned back to castle. Though it was in ruin, it was not entirely toppled. Parts of the inner sanctum still lay untouched. Perhaps with some digging, he could find something of true use. Breech's body let loose a pocket of steam from beneath his right ear, causing him to sigh. It was getting harder to keep the heat from his Resillium Core from escaping. Even with his power output being limited, the energy he was creating simply couldn't be expelled fast enough. He'd need to find a workaround soon.
The Lifeless Inventor touched a finger to his right ear, clicking on his long-range communications device. "I hope you're in the mood for some excavation, Son of Sithis. This fortress is teeming with magic. Perhaps we can find something useful inside. Care to join me?"
