So, I was thinking recently... why don't we try to have a Discord channel? I think it has a couple of key advantages over the Shoutbox and Cbox...
So my question is... would you guys care to try and EXPERIMENT with this and see how it goes?
- Different Tabs - We can have different tabs, allowing us to be able to split up conversations. Like, the important IC stuff (Shoutbox) being in one tab, while the Cbox (general OOC talk) can be in another.
- Easier to Tag and Talk in Private - A thing I have been seeing a decent amount of is stuff like @soandso to talk to them. In Discord, it would tag them so that when they log on, they can see 'hey I got a message' or it is highlighted against the tide of surging messages, so they know who they are talking to. Plus, if you just want to talk to someone else, you can go into private messaging by just clicking on the name. normally, I have to refresh the page, find the username, click on their profile and send the message. This can remove a button press, which is just a little time saver for people like me.
- You don't need to open a website to see previous messages - Instead, all you have to do is just... scroll up! It can load the last 500+ messages completely fine, AND...
- YOU CAN EDIT WHAT YOU SAY - No longer will have to saty *Say* when we make a mistake. We can just edit it!
- Moderators can be tagged - If we make a group of moderators, people needing mechanics help can also be tagged. This way questions can be aske in their own tab, or moderators can be tagged properly.
So my question is... would you guys care to try and EXPERIMENT with this and see how it goes?
