[Thread PL= 21,514 ] Verst had despised his time in the cities, Children pointing and making faces at his apparent strange appearance. Several times the local security forces known as the 'police' had been called, Verst had disposed of them easy enough, but they were annoying and so, he set out to make a base and lair of his own until he could afford some hirelings to do his bidding. Or possibly binding some unwilling participants to his will.
The north of this planet was cold, and much to Verst's liking, the cold irritated him the least of any climate on this variable planet. He was flying around looking for a suitable place, when he finally found a small enclosed alcove in a mountain that would suit his needs, he landed and started walking towards it.

The sky was cloudy, and it was mid-day. The floor of the plains were covered in snow, and the cold weather combined with the chili wind was a formidable opponent indeed. Not so formidable against Maxxie however, Who seemed to be getting along well despite these harsh conditions. Of course, her attire did make it easier; a dark blue T-Shirt with a long-sleeved dark blue sweatshirt over that, with a dark blue fur coat over that, a dark blue beanie on top of her head along with her coat's hoodie over that, dark blue gloves, dark blue cargo pants, dark blue socks, and dark blue fur boots that cover those socks. One could tell that she really loved dark blue, or perhaps she just wanted her outfit to match colors.
Right now Maxxie was meditating, sitting down with her legs crossed and holding her hands together, placing them on top of her crossed legs. She had her eyes closed, her head facing the snowy ground. No one would be able to see it if they were looking at her from a standing point, as her hood would guard it. She wasn't making any humming noises whatsoever, remaining silent while maintaining this position. The female was currently in deep thought. Her dark purple ki-aura could be seen glowing around herm getting bigger and bigger the deeper she was in thought.
Maxxie meditated within a small enclosed alcove that sat at the bottom of a mountain. It wasn't occupied previously, so she decided to take a break there after having delivered a package to one of the towns in the North that Matthew asked her to. The human was already used to being in the area at that point, whereas in the beginning the cold used to bother her greatly.
Maxxie could hear footsteps coming towards her, but she kept meditating anyway, waiting until the person got too close. She wanted to mind her own business if it was just someone walking near the alcove, not intending to actually go inside.
The cold seemed to surround him as he continued walking, still mostly unaffected by the weather he pushed on, closing in on the alcove, his mask filling with condensation from his breath. He strode insistent that the cold would not slow him.
Images started flowing through his mind of what his base might look like; A strong vice like door camouflaged with the snow. Then a long metallic and angular corridor, to another door. This one heavily reinforced and locked with a voice recognition and fingerprint scanner. Then opening to a large glass elevator, that revealed a huge base, spaceships being built, raiders and soldiers being trained. It almost looked like Verst's version of heaven.
He couldn't contain a small chuckle under his breath as he imagined leading his small army into cities and towns causing havoc, smiting 'heroes' that come his way. "Soon" he thought.
As he got closer to the alcove he started to see a figure inside, apparently meditating...
"HELLO!? WHO ARE YOU?" Verst shouted to avoid his voice being carried away by the wind.

Maxxie's head shot up, her eyes wide open and her body quickly getting up into a standing position as she heard a shout that startled her. Her aura stayed glowing as she readied two orbs of energy from her palms that she would launch if this intruder meant her harm. The human warrior's forearms were in front of her and slightly bent upwards at this point, showing the stranger that all she needed to do was point them forward and that it wouldn't take too long. She now stood in an average posture.
"Just a passerby trying to have some peace and quiet. Though I suppose that I have gotten enough of that for now. Anyway, if you do not wish to harm me, then I won't try to do so to you. My apologies if my starting aggression frightens you, but you sure did frighten me with that unnecessarily loud shout. Even the wind couldn't carry it away fast enough," Maxxie spoke. At first she had a serious expression on her face, but at the end of her last sentence, a small smile began to form. She really didn't want to fight at this time.
From the looks of the stranger, Maxxie suspected that he was an Arcosian. She only ever met two others, and they were quite nice to her, one of them still being in contact with her to this day. Though a lot of people she has talked to generally talk bad about the race, claiming that they have been terrorizing the planet for centuries. Maxxie didn't like to judge a person by their species however, as she would rather just look at a person as an individual.
"A Passerby who should keep passing by..." Verst's relaxed and chuckling face, turned stone cold a glare locked eyes with Maxxie, They appeared Human. 'No threat to me.' Verst thought, 'Anyone who goes defensive that quickly must be passively scared, however this one had Ki, interesting.' He continued pondering, before realizing the presence was still there.
"What're you doing out here? I thought your people preferred shelter and warmth. Anyway I've claimed this spot. Move or i'll make you move." Verst exhaled heavily through his mask, creating a large plume of air that masked his face, his glare however stayed locked on this creature. He moved towards her, maintaining his glare and heaving his chest, trying to intimidate the Human.

The arcosian made a rude comment, then proceeded to talk about how he claimed the alcove, commanding Maxxie to move or else. She stopped charging her ki orbs and now had her arms folded against her chest, moving towards him, stopping once they were just a few inches away from touching each other. Since the stranger was about seven inches smaller than her, it was she who looked down on him, with a blank expression on her face. She was not threatened by this alien. Perhaps when he sneaked in and shouted at her, but not anymore.
"You claimed this spot? What could you possibly want with a small alcove in the middle of nowhere? Is it more important than me meditating, thus strengthening my mental state? If it is, then I will kindly move away, but you must tell me first," she replied. Maxxie was a reasonable human being who didn't always fix her problems with fighting. Besides, this one could be an ally to her, which would help her cause greatly. She heard that arcosians had a ton of power hidden within them from birth, without needing to train, so the female hoped that this was true.
The Human wasn't intimidated by his presence, another oddity about this one. Impressive. "Is the utter domination of the local region and the eventual seat of power on this planet a good enough reason for you, hm?" Verst said in a way that made this sound like a common phrase. Completely sure the Human would leave him to his business, he went to move past her. His arms by his side, not feeling he need to change his stance
However, he paused. "I never did get your name. mine's Verst, what's yours?" He asked turning his head but refusing to make eye contact. He would not allow this being demean him by making him look up to her. "If you're interested i could use an accomplice, at least to dig out the main area for the base, we'll see if you can make yourself useful. I've never seen a Human with ki." Verst maintained his stature by her side, staring at the alcove but speaking inquistively.

"It is if it means that we can be of use to each other" Maxxie responded to his question of whether or not attaining grand power on the planet would get him past her. He moved deeper into the alcove, and the female didn't stop him, because she saw no reason to. If he is as strong as he is ambitious, then Maxxie was certain that keeping him alive would be a good thing.
"Maxxie Everstone, at your service, and an accomplice? I could help you do what you are doing here, but at a price. I operate on a favor basis, so if I scratch your back this time, you will have to scratch mines when I call for it," the warrior responded to him. "And everything has ki, though an average human just has very little of it. I have trained harder than most of them, but I still have a long ways to go. While it may not seem that I am of use at the moment, I can assure you that my potential is there. I am always wanting to get stronger," Maxxie added, as if she was in an interview. She needed Verst to know her weaknesses, because he would probably accept her offer to become allies if she didn't lie right to his face.
Maxxie moved forward along with the arcosian, scoping out the alcove that he wanted to make larger. She never helped make a base before.
"So, how long do you think this will take? And after we are finished, when will you make your move to take control of land? We probably both need to grow much stronger, as I have heard rumors about the legendary heroes that roam Earth, taking out any threats in an instant," Maxxie asked him.
"I've only seen 2 others actually harness their ki before. The others seem quite unaware of it." Verst recalled some of his early expeditions on space. "I trust you aim to get stronger, as is the goal for all life is it not?" Verst said once again visualizing his base fully constructed. "The other plans have yet to be formalized, but soon I hope. Maybe find some more people I can encourage to join my cause." confidence struck through his voice as he grew a slight smirk.
"Maxxie." Verst said, contemplating the name for a moment. "A favor here and there is quite a fair deal in my eyes." Verst spoke once again this time facing the taller figure. He extended his hand as was customary for a deal. "Duration depends on our efforts, hopefully not much longer than a few hours however." Verst once again faced the alcove and a small pink ball started to form on the end of his finger on his extended hand.
[Fan Reims stands at the base of a snowy mountain, looking confusingly at a frozen over map of the area.]
Fan Reims was a wanderer, a man with wanderlust who never stood in one place. He was always seeking out new opponents, and had traveled out into the north after hearing a rumor of some strange monster that was roaming the snowy landscape (not verst) and terrorizing the local populace. He had no heroic intent by traveling to the north, he just couldn't pass up the possibility of a good challenge. he was pretty unfamiliar with the terrain however, despite having been there once before with his father. He quickly lost himself among the similar landscape and begun to wander aimlessly through the harsh northern weather, attempting to find his way to the village that had reported the monster when he suddenly felt a strange power. "Oh... I'm guessing that's the strange beast then? Strange though... I can't quite make out its strength..." He noted, quickly folding up the piece of paper in his hands before activating his energy sense once again. He attempted to find its location, barely managing to concentrate amidst the frigid cold and wind.
He was starting to get excited, mostly due to the fact that he couldn't correctly sense the strength of whatever this creature was, giving it a sense of mystery as to whether it was stronger than him or not. He begun heading out, attempting to follow the faint power. After a while he sensed a second power whom, from his current distance he couldn't make out its strength. "Two powers??... Heh.. seems fun, hopefully they're strong.." he commented, continuing onwards in his walk towards them.

Maxxie nodded at all of Verst's relpies to her words. She understood that seeing as only a small fraction of humans actually used ki, the arcosian only coming in contact with two prior to her made complete sense. She was happy that he wasn't angry at the fact that she was rather weak, and was ok with his answers to how long it would take for him to control the planet and to how long it would take to construct his base. Verst then held out his hand, most likely waiting for the woman to join her own to his, to which she did just seconds after he offered. Once that was done, she would place her arms back at her sides.
And so Verst looked to be beginning the construction, forming an orb of energy over one of his fingers. Maxxie would follow, opening up her right palm and forming a purple orb of ki energy. Her right arm was bent upwards, and she walked as close as she could towards the end of the alcove.
"Just tell me where to point my beams and I will begin. I assume you want the entrance room to be the largest? Or did you mean to just use this as a starting point, making hallways that would lead to bigger places?" the woman asked, wondering what the alien wanted his area of operation to look like.
Maxxie can't sense energy, so she can't tell that Fan Reims is near them.
Fan's casual walk towards the pair of powers would eventually stop at the entrance to a weird cave, wherein he could see two people apparently talking with each other . "A cave? what are they doing in a cave??" he'd ask confusingly as he dropped in, not really caring much about stealth as he took a deep breath, yelling- "YOOOOOO!!!!", his voice echoing across the walls of the alcove. as the echo faded, he'd chuckle quietly to himself, apologizing to the two- "hehe... sorry about that...." he'd say nonchalantly, his energy senses now clearly reading both of their powers. =wow... that guys stronger than the alien i fought back at west city...= he'd recall. =come to think of it.... he kindof looks like him as well....= he'd think, his curiosity getting the better of him as he asked the weird looking creature- "so are you one of those weird "strongest race in the universe" folk? y'know... the cocky ones that can buff up and grow like 7 feet tall?
"Well my original idea required a hidden door, then a second more secure door. So i would prefer the original alcove to remain mostly intact, but beyond that and downwards needs expansion." Verst explained, his mind once again wandering. "I appreciate the help, but i must remind you, this location must remain secret between us..." Verst turned and noticed a new figure arriving on the scene.
"And you are?" Verst said not appreciating the interruption. "I believe the term you are searching for is. Arcosian. We are a proud race and i'd prefer you to announce yourself before shouting. Someone might think you were trying to attack them..." Verst smirked and looked towards his still glowing finger. "Now i can use this on you or the cave. Your choice, help me or be destroyed." A glare shot towards the intruder.
Cold wind covered Fin's flight over the Freezing North. He had passed up many towns on his way, Fin taking his time to slaughter every single one of the humans that he had laid eyes on while on his way. Of course, Fin really didn't have any idea on where he was going or why he was going this direction, but he reassured himself that he'd find a way, a way to achieve more power. But as he flew over some of the mountains, his eyes caught a flash of movement by some of the caves. Fin decided to land and scope out the situation. As he hid behind some of the rocks by the cave, he saw what seemed to be a Saiyan communicating with something inside the cave. Fin grinned. It seemed that he'd be able to fight after such a long time. His Saiyan blood was already boiling with excitement. Fin slowly approached the Saiyan, the howling wind masking the sound of his movements as he came closer, closer, and closer until Fin finally would attempt to grab the youth by the neck with his tail, and throw him away from the cave. If successful, he'd then start walking toward him, grinning maliciously while brandishing his tail as if he were about to stab Fan right in the chest. He'd then stop right in front of him and say, "Interesting. A Saiyan. It's been a long time since i've seen one of you. Unfortunately for you, it seems it will be the last time you'll be seeing anything of my magnitude." If uninterrupted, Fin would then grab Fan by the throat and start pummeling him, with no end in sight.

"Hmmm, sounds like a plan then. So I suppose we are just drilling a narrow hall into the back wall for now?" Maxxie asked. Once answered, she would get right to work. "And I understand. I will tell no one of this base," she added. However, someone approached the alcove, interrupting the two while they were chatting. The woman turned to face this man that looked to be a human. The first thing that Maxxie realized was that he liked to shout before entering a place, something that Verst ironically was irritated about, seeing as he did the same thing when the female was meditating. The two of them started chatting about arcosians while Maxxie watched them, waiting for their discussion to be over with so she could get back to base building.
Suddenly, Maxxie saw an odd looking figure approach the human male. He appeared to have been sneaking around the alcove behind rocks, until he decided to come out and actually do something. It looked as if he was trying to have the wind cover the noise he made while trying to get to his target, but he obviously didn't account for the fact that Maxxie and Verst were facing the direction he was coming from. That and the other man could possibly sense ki, so his attack was likely to fail.
"Hey, what do you want!" Maxxie shouted while pointing at the alien with her right hand. Everyone else was raising her voice, so why couldn't she?
