So... I made Big Train become a student of Beryl's school, as I was excited and felt that it was a perfect fit for him. And while we had a thread where I was accepted as his student and we started training, my character never completely learned the techniques. As most of you know, Beryl has since left the site to focus on school and hasn't logged on once since his departure. But that leaves me sitting here minus 2,500z and with a dogi I can't benefit from. I CANNOT receive a full refund nor can I learn any of the techniques since I never finished the training. I also can't take over as the school's master since that's also not allowed. I obviously don't find this fair and I'm honestly mostly interested in the Zen School techs. But I feel that at the very least I should be able to receive a full refund since I'm not at fault in any of this. I think it should be a site wide rule that if a teacher is inactive and no skills have been learned by the student, then a full refund should be awarded. If this is a no go then another option could be to allow me to NPC Beryl in a very brief solo that needs to be approved and deemed to be within Beryl's character. That way I can still learn the technique in character. Yet another option would be that I can gain the techs from the incomplete training thread that I had with Beryl with the stipulation that the thread CANNOT be graded and must be left open so that if Beryl ever comes back, I can jump back into it and continue the training.
FINALLY getting to this after being bogged down by work. I'd love to hear everyone's opinion on this.

I think there should be a refund system put into place for people that haven't learned a tech yet. The refund is made, the money is stripped from the teacher.

Vi-Poi I agree with you on this. Something easy to gain refunds as you guys also keep track of the techs learned. So would be easy for the mod team to tell if someone learned the ability and is trying to game you guys and retake the money.

1+ to this. While I have never learned from a school I can see how this would be unfair

Most people seem to agree on a refund, any decision on this? Vi-Poi

I'd be down for refunding and the money being stripped from the teacher assuming the Teacher has yet to spend it. Of course they'd only be stripped of the 1500 Zeni-or-so that they get cuz they get half the cost of the Dogi as actual cash.

My personal thought is that they'd lose the zeni regardless. If they're under the 1,250z needed for a refund, they go into negatives.

Start like, an actual poll, I meant. Have it close in 72 hours then I'll put up the rule (if it passes).
