Nightfall, one of the city’s busiest time; the streets are filled with life as people leaves their jobs, goes out to party or din at some food establishment. In this case, the half breed Toshi found himself walking along an abandon road. This might not be his best decision but it’s the fastest way to reach to his destination. The road was specifically blocked off by the police; for the safety of the average citizen, they had to agree with the ‘crime organization’ that this road will only be for them and their usage. Whoever lived there before had two choices; stay at their own risk or move out. Along the roads were shut down buildings, dealers and other unholy sights. This might seem like a bad idea for Toshi but his attire helped him fit in quite well. His white and black panda hoodie—With the hood up which conceals his face, jet black jeans shorts and a white with black patterns uppers all-star shoes. Sure, his clothes may seem a little too clean for an area like this but the black and white attire said otherwise. Toshi’s only objective was to haste through this the street and make it to the other side before anything ‘bad’ happens. He knew for a fact that average humans aren’t enough to hurt him but what about other aliens or super humans? It’d be best for him to get out of there swiftly. The rundown buildings and shady citizens had him questioning his choices. Inside, he’d panic but on the outside, he seems calm and emotionless. His walking pace seems to be above the average speed however it gave off the illusion as if he might not be rushing.
Half way through, the half breed picked up something that peeks his interests; a group of decent power levels all in one location. He estimated that this assembly might have been a few blocks away. His mother Apple clearly detested the idea of him doing something stupid but she wasn’t here to stop him. His curiosity and Saiyan instinct will possibly get him killed one day. He detours and instigate the gathering just to find himself in the middle of a dark and small alley. Something whispers in his ear that he needs to turn back but his stubbornness got the best of him. “Hmph..No gain if I do..I’ll keep pressing forward.”. He discovered a small entrance with two guards at front. One appears to be holding a clipboard and a pistol at his waist. The other had an assault rifle in hand. Whatever was going on in that building had to be important. There is no other reason for them to guard that location with heavy combat utensils. The fact that they weren’t even wearing uniforms so they weren’t the police or soldiers. Toshi had enough common sense to know that he shouldn’t stick his nose in this but that didn’t stop him from walking towards the fellows. With his attire? It’s amazing they didn’t shoot him on sight. The guard wielding the pistol felt his energy way before he even reveals himself. The Rifle guard on the other hand lacks that ability. Instead of remaining calm, he quickly took aim. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, the other guard commands, “Oi, lower your gun! They’re unarmed, you moron!”. As demanded, the guard followed and nods; if they had faith in this random kid then he’ll let him handle it. Toshi didn’t let the fellow with the rifle frighten him; he never stopped until he was close enough to see who they were. Mere guns aren’t enough to affect someone like him or so he believes.
He failed to recognize them but he assumes the rifleman was around his age and the other with the clipboard might have been his old enough to have grandkids. The older guard seems too relaxed around them; this worried Toshi because he also failed to sense this man’s power. This means, he will not be able to size up the fellow as he did with the others. He’ll have to be careful and on guard around that man. “So, kid, wanna remove the hood? Or do I have to remove it for you?”, the fellow asked. Toshi rather not anger him so he did as he was told; he’d reach up and drag the hood off. Their long white hair rolled down their shoulders and their piercing red eyes locks onto both—His emotionless expression didn’t help at all. As intimidating he seems; only one out of the two felt afraid—The rifleman. The old guard was shocked! If he didn’t know better, he would have thought it was the ‘Flawless Queen’ but Toshi did resemblance his mother by a whole lot. “I see..Come inside with me, I’ll like to ask you a few questions. It isn’t safe around these parts.”. The old fellow turned to the other guard and nodded. His way of telling him to watch the area while he’s gone. He’d turn to Toshi and called him over so that he could follow him inside safely. This all seems strange but Toshi thought he’ll be more than capable to take care of himself. In addition, he had more than enough power to break his way through the walls just in case he needs to make a fast escape route.
Once they enter and they were in the light, Toshi took a good look at him.
He’d follow the man further into the building. On his way to wherever they fella wanted to take him, the odor of all manner of evil reeks and lingers in the air. Noise of all types rings through his ear as he assumes one of the doors he passed had a bar beyond it. The deeper they went, the hotter it becomes. The corrupted scenery was too much for Toshi’s eyes as well. This entire building worked against the five senses. All four senses were in the deep end, only tasting remains. Toshi made sure that he will NOT talk if he’s in this structure. The old guard noticed Toshi’s displeased expression. That was expected from someone like him. He assumed the boy Toshi has never face hard life before hence why he seems like this. He can tell that he might also be able to use his Ki from the fact that he didn’t even flinch when a gun of that caliber was pointed towards him. “I guess you’re one of the lucky ones…Kid.”.
“Don’t worry, we’re almost there.”
“…”
“Sorry about it, it’ll grow onto you overtime. Besides, where you’re going might be the cleanest area in this place.”
“The cleanest? So, this place is just an overall shithole...”, of course he had a look of disgust written all over his face. The old fella was right about something; this isn’t the life Toshi is used to so his behavior to per say life seems more justify.
“Don’t give me that look, we’re almost there.”
“…”
They’ve finally arrived to their terminus. If Toshi knew it’d be this far underground, he would have denied the offer. They were a few meters below the ground; it took them at least twenty minutes to get there. From examining at the building from the outside; assuming this place had such a room that deep under it would have been impossible. Within the room seems to be a massive iron bar cage with one exit that appears to be on the top. Around that cage had different strains from different color. Garbage were all around the room and like the rest of the building, it had a foul odor. The cleanest things in the room were the training equipment that was at the far corner—Away from all the chaos. Toshi’s shoots the fella with a quick glare; at least he wasn’t lying. This place is more manageable than the floors above them. They had to be careful what they’ll step into on the upper floors while they only had to avoid trash here. The man waves at Toshi, alerting him that he should follow as he made his way towards the gym equipment. Both had a lot of question for each other but the old fella assumed that he might not answer while they’re that close to waste.
“Alright, why did you came here?”, he questioned Toshi.
Toshi took a seat on the bench, he’d cross his arms and studies the area. He still lacks faith in the fella so he had all right to be tense and on guard. As for his question, he didn’t bother to answer it. His reasons aren’t something he’ll like to share to others no matter how simple they are. He counters the man’s question with one of his own, “Tell me, why did you seemed to surprise when I remove my hood and why would you carry me all the way down here just to talk?”. The man froze up! He paused for a moment; he’s trying to dig his way out of it. His true intention seems more like a selfish than righteous. His excuse was, “Well, I wanted to tell you about this place, the cage match and whatnot…Isn’t that why you’re here? And I was only surprise because you look like someone I once knew but they’re dead now.”. Half was right and half was a lie. He even went out of his way just to explain the rules about the matches and the prize if they’ve won all their matches. Toshi ignored his explanations about the matches and tackled the main remarks that caught his curiosity, “Who was this person I remind you of?”. The old fellow halted once again. Toshi was hanging him by his toes with all this counter questions. He’d finally realized that this kid might be more focused than his expected. He had no choice but to explain and answer the kid’s questions.
“The Flawless Queen or the Untouchable Queen. She was the undefeated champion a few years back. She was flawless because no one couldn’t even land a blow. She’ll always stop it completely, dodge it or redirect it…She help this business flourish. But now…I think she’s dead..When was pregnant and I stop her from fight with a stomach that big. She got pissed off and stormed off..That was the last time we’ve seen her..”
Toshi shuts his eyes; this seems more like a sad tale than anything else, “Could you tell more about this person?”. The man turned to Toshi—Staring at the boy completely surprised. He didn’t expect the lad to be this interested in someone else’s story. He’d nodded; telling the boy all about the Flawless Queen’s past—How she was before the matches and how she was after the matches. Even the amount of rewards they had back then and how much it decreased. Back then, a lot of fighters from around the world wanted to do battle with her; they wanted to snatch that title away from her yet all failed. At the end, she had to stop—Bette yet, forced to stop and take care of her family. “Interesting story…I think I have an idea…Since I look like her, I’ll take up that role. I’ll also like a list of all the individuals you’ll like for me to avoid. I’m planning on using the cops to assist with this special experience training.”. Indeed, Toshi was touched by the story. He believed it would be fun for him since he’ll get to battle many around the world once he obtains this title. The old man face lit up with excitement. This is good enough for him. “I’ll help you train as well. At the end of this, you will be stronger than her and you’ll be able to live her legacy—“; a sudden mature feminine voice cuts off the man’s response—This voice was too familiar to the old man, “No, I will not allow my son to do such a thing. I don’t not approve so behavior.”.
All eyes were on the source—Whoever said that. It’s a surprise! It Flawless Queen herself or better known as Apple, Toshi’s mother.
“It’s been a while Bur.”
Bur—The old man seems taken back. She barely aged for someone who was supposed to be around his age. He was more staggered by the fact that this kid was her son. Everything made sense now—Why he looked like her to the T and why he could find this place. He’s lost at words; what could he had said to someone whom vanished for 21 years. Toshi on the other hand seems more stunned that she found him here. He was about to ask her how as his lips parts but the old man beats him to it, “Apple..The Flawless Queen..It’s been so long…Do..You even age that much? What’s your secret?”. Apple calls her son over—She seems more concerned about his condition than talking with an old comrade. Whenever Toshi arrived, she checked his body for any cut or bruise afore petting the boy’s head, “Well, it has been. We’ll be leaving now. I rather not have my baby expose to all this violence and so on. If you need to call me, here.”. Just like that, she flicks him a card with her number(s). Seems the boy had no real say in his decision no matter his age. Toshi gave the man a small nod whenever his mother was looking away while they were leaving—Of course he planned on going against her will. After catching all of that, everything she has been through? He wanted to at least help all the others who aren’t capable of doing it like her. Great heart her had? No, he just loved his mother enough and doesn’t want to see others suffer like her. Besides, he’ll get the thrill of fighting strong opponents while he’s at it.
