The tiny sand grains pounded against the brown worn-out cloak that the dark-skinned Saiyan was wearing as the sedge hat on his head blocked the sand from the surrounding area from flowing into his slightly opened eyes. He clutched his guitar in his hand tightly afraid that it would be lost in all the flying sand just as his footprints had been, which were covered by sand quickly, leaving no evidence of Rako ever even being in the desert in the first place. As he continued to trudge on, he finally emerged out of the storm and into the normal desert with much calmer weather conditions.
"Finally out of that annoying storm...", the tail-less Saiyan said with a feeling of relief. He had been trapped in that very same sandstorm for a pretty long while and there was no point in trying to fly out of it as the wind would just get in his way making it about as long as a jog through the storm. But no use in crying over spilled milk now. At least he could fly freely at this point and so he did.
His purple aura flared around him as he shot into the sky, full speed, heading elsewhere, the sand exploding outwards in his wake. As the wind passed him by, his cloak flowing with it, he decided he'd head for the Paprika Wasteland next. Perhaps he could use the peace and quiet of such an area after listening to the constant grainy howl of the wind in the desert for so long. Yeah, definitely going for the non-sandy quiet environment of the Paprika Wasteland.
Moments after making said decision, the former SSE member slammed into the grassy terrain making a bit of a crater but not too large of one. At that point he removed his cloak completely from his body and slid his sedge hat off of his head, revealing his ponytail and black and white themed outfit, sporting his normal white and black boots, his black pants, white cloth bands on his wrists and of course, no shirt.
"Welp, guess I'll just go find a place to nap now.", the Saiyan said as he slowly walked across the seemingly lifeless environment. As he continued to walk he came upon a sight that caught his attention. It was one of the mountains cut completely in half. It was obvious that this had been caused long ago but for something from planet Earth to have the power required to pull off something like that was rather weird.
Perhaps it was caused by an Earthling fighting of some Saiyans during the invasion.
But, Rako decided not to spend too much thought on the subject as a scream echoed throughout the wasteland. Shooting into the sky to see what the source was of such a terrified scream, Rako's head frequently went from left to right to left to right. Then Rako remembered he could just look for Ki. And that's when he felt it. Two small powerlevels were running in the same direction, the smaller one in the front.
That's when Rako sensed the powerlevels right under him and that's when he saw it. A giant dinosaur chasing a tanned girl with golden hair who had red tribal marks on her face who seemed to be around the tween age group (11, 12, or so). Rako wasn't one to just stand by and watch something bad happen so, without giving much more thought, Rako lunged at the dinosaur before extending his hand outward and opening his palm near the creature's snout and then released a Gale Force Strike, the pure force of the wind mixed with the Saiyan's ki pushing the dinosaur far back and eventually causing it to topple over on it's back.
The Saiyan chuckled at the sight of the large creature struggling to return to it's feet. "Well well. Not so tough now, are ya big guy?", he said cockily. He then turned around to face the girl that he had just saved. "And you, little lady, shouldn't be out here by yourself. If I didn't arrive, you surely would've gotten eaten.", he said with a smile as he placed a hand on her head, kneeling down to her height. "Now, go on home. He's not the only dinosaur our here, you know."
The girl remained silent.
Rako raised a curious brow. "Hello? Anyone in there?", he asked, waving his hand frantically in front of her face at the same time trying to her attention. But the girl just stared at him and eventually, a large smile overtook her face as she yelled, full of excitement. Rako flinched in shock from the sudden burst in volume causing him to move back a bit. "You're the chosen one, aren't you!?" Rako's face became twisted with confusion as he looked at the overly-excited child.
"Uh....chosen one? No, you've got the wrong guy." The girl completely ignored him as she snatched his hand and dragged him along with her. "Hello!? I said you've got the WRONG guy!" The golden-haired child continued to pull the Saiyan along, however, regardless of how many times he tried to tell her that he was not this chosen one she spoke of. "Wait 'till everyone else sees you! They'll be thrilled! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!", the girl said, still pumping with excitement. Sighing, Rako decided he'd just let this happen.
Soon enough, the pair arrived at the destination which was unknown to the Saiyan. It was a...village? A small village, a pretty tribal one at that. Then again, the former Elite Saiyan Warrior should've known judging by the red marks on the girl's face. As they entered the village, Rako looked around, rotating his head from left to right. The people were staring at him in awe. Did they know he was a Saiyan? No...it couldn't be, he'd severed all evidence of his Saiyan heritage except for his natural power and the look on his face that appeared when he got into a really good fight. But he hadn't fought in front of them and these people most likely could not sense ki so this wasn't very likely.
A sudden darkness caused Rako's attention to return back to what was in front of him, however, as he entered the largest hut in the entire village. What was going on? The Saiyan honestly did not know but had a bit of a feeling he was about to find out. "Here we are, chosen one!", the girl said as the two emerged in a room with a plump elderly man sitting in the middle of the room which was illuminated by only fire.
Two guards stood by his side, spears in their hands. They were both tall and quite muscular, and looked practically the same. It didn't take a genius to figure out that this man was a chief of some kind.
"Welcome, young man.", the old human said calmly. A smile emerged on his face shortly after speaking and then, he spoke once more. "By how impatient Kamali here looks, I'd say you're the 'chosen one', aren't you?" "Yes, he is!", the girl shouted. "No, I'm not!", the Saiyan retaliated.
"Ah, I see...welcome then, chosen one! You, Thunderbird, shall save our village from the threat of the Skullbane Tribe!" The Saiyan's jaw dropped. "You want me to do what? How could you trust me so easily? Why would you trust me so easily? The hell is a Thunderbird? The fuck's a Skullbane?" The former SSE Member massaged his temples. "I have so many questions..."
"Indeed you do, as to be expected." The Chief rubbed his chin with his right hand, his eyes closed as he became lost in thought. "Where to start, where to start...Hm..." The Chief then clicked his tongue as he finally decided what he would inform Rako about first. "Well, you must want to know what makes you the chosen one, right?"
The Saiyan remained silent for a few seconds before opening his mouth and beginning to say "For the last time, I'm not the--", but he was quickly cut off as the old tribal man spoke regardless of his opinion on the subject.
"The Chosen One is a male destined to do many great things for the sake of the tribe.", the Chief began.
"Aaaaaand, I'm being ignored.", the Saiyan said calmly.
"This man is strong, powerful, and unshakable. The movement of his hand alone can send other creatures flying. He possesses immense power, much like the mighty Thunderbird, hence why we give the Chosen One that nickname.", the elder continued. "In order for one to be considered such a being he must save the daughter of Hinto from a raging danger. And you my friend, have done just that. Now, as the chosen one, you will not only save the tribe, but also marry the daughter of Hinto, who's Kamali by the way, just in case you're wondering." "...Pretty sure that was common sense.""Then, you shall become part of the tribe known as the Thunderbird."
Rako looked at the Chief for about three seconds. Then he turned to the twelve-year old looking girl he saved and then back to the Chief once more. Placing to fingers on the bridge of his nose, the chocolate-colored Saiyan pinched lightly as he tightly squeezed his eyes shut, inhaling deeply. When he had filled his lungs to their capacity, he let the air out, removed his fingers from the bridge of his nose and opened his eyes very slightly once more.
"Ok. One: That whole 'Chosen One' story you just told was scrambled like some eggs. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Two: This girl is twelve years old. I am NOT going to marry her any time soon as I myself am nineteen years of age. Three: because I saved her life, I'm destined to become the most powerful man your tribe has ever seen? What? Might wanna increase those standards buddy, not even kidding. Four: For. The. Last. Time. I AM NOT THE CHOSEN ONE!", the Saiyan then rose to his feet. "Now, I'm going to go back to where I came from." Rako then turned around and headed for the Hut exit.
"So you'll be our chosen one? Great!", the Chief said, as he gave a hearty laugh. "Welcome to the family!" The girl jumped up with joy when the chief said this. "Yay! Yay! I'm gonna marry Thunderbird! I'm gonna marry Thunderbird!" At first, the Saiyan just stood still. Then, he turned around slowly, his eyes wide open for the first time in years due to complete shock. Then he spoke. "...What."
Just then, a loud explosion erupted from outside, interrupting the "conversation" between the three. The guards inside the hut rushed past Rako in blinding speeds, though they seemed a bit slow to the Saiyan mostly due to his power and speed which far exceeded theirs. Turning to the Hut exit once more, Rako actually exit this time only to see a giant pillar of black smoke erupting into the sky which was obviously caused by the attack.
At the entrance of the village stood a group of more humans, each of them with a neon-green aura surrounding their bodies as they just stood there menacingly. One of them was an incredibly short man who's body made it seem as if he hadn't eaten in decades due to the bony structure of his body. There was also a red-headed girl dressed in a cloak and wearing a black and green head band on her head, and lastly the largest guy out of them all who towered over at least seven feet, was bald, and very, VERY muscular.
"The Skullbane clan...", the Chief said as he grit his teeth in anger. The short and scrawny one began to walk towards Rako and the rest and spoke. "Oh Kiptuli! Where are ya, you old fart.", he said curiously as he continued to walk through the village. "Show yourself Kiptuli! Or I shall kill all of your tribe members!", the short man said, and he was serious. Deadly serious. Rako refused to let this happen so he stepped in.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that, short stuff!", Rako said calmly, a giant smile on his face. The short man looked his way, a surprised expression on his face. This expression quickly turned to an amused one and then finally a serious one. "You're going to stop me? Usually I'd stop fools like you myself but you know what? I'll let those two have some fun.", the man said to Rako. He turned around after stating this and said to the other two, "Go crazy!" and of course, the giant one leapt first.
The cockiest of smirks made its way onto the Saiyan's face as he rushed straight back at the goliath, dust and rocks rocketed outwards in all direction as a crater was left in the Saiyan's wake. Finally the two met in the middle of the village, both about to hit the other with a mighty charging swing. The air crackled from the bigger man's punch and when he thrust his fist forward, causing a shockwave and Rako just suddenly disappeared, he first believed he had killed him but then the Saiyan reappeared behind him and slammed down on his head, his hands clasped together, knocking the giant Skullbane tribe member out.
Just then the woman decided to one up Rako, her Neon aura flaring as she charged a ki blast and fired it at Rako. The teen smacked the ki out of the way with ease, sending it flying into an empty hut, causing it to explode violently as he raised his right hand and released a Kiai wave, knocking her out and sending her tumbling upwards without even touching her physically. Soon enough her body returned to the Earth once more as she hit the dirt, hard. "She'll be fine. Now to deal with--" His words were replaced with blood as he coughed some up rather than finishing his sentence.
A sudden pain in his side had caused this to happen and when he looked down to see what had happened, there was a hole in the right side of his lower abdomen. Now who the hell did something like that and so quickly? When he looked up, all he saw was the scrawny man, a fist outwards implying that he was the one who had punched the former SSE member. Rako grit his bloody teeth as he stumbled backward for a few seconds. Then he smiled. Despite all the pain, he smiled a crimson smile and then said "Heh heh...you got me there...", and finally collapsed. What a Saiyan thing to say when near death.
A drop dangled desperately from a spike in the cave's ceiling. It shook and shook until finally it dropped. It soared downward through the air and when it hit rock bottom, the drop popped on Rako's head causing him to regain consciousness. He was chained to the walls of the cave. Really? They thought THAT'D hold him. But wait...the pain...it was completely gone. Though he had a whole through his body yesterday the hole was completely gone. Did they...heal him? When he was near death?
The Saiyan first gave a light chuckle which then slowly evolved into a cocky and hearty laugh. They had no idea what they'd just done! Yes, Rako could feel it, the increase in power. He was going to butcher the Skullbane tribe. Though there wasn't much of a tribe as there were only three members. But that was besides the point. Just then, the tribe had arrived at the cave. The lady's face was pretty swollen while the back of the big guy's head had a large lump on it. The scrawny short man was untouched, however.
"So, how'd you sleep. Good, I imagine? Don't answer that by the way, I couldn't care less.", the man said. Rako tilted his head and raised a brow in confusion. "If you didn't care, why would you ask?" The man squinted his eyes at the question and then opened them, shooting Rako a 'if looks could kill' glare. The Saiyan looked left and then right and then looked back at the tiny man. "You lookin' at me like that?" "No shit, Sherlokku." "...Oh hell nah."
The Saiyan then ripped the chains from the side of the cave walls as he proceeded to use them as weapons. "I'm afraid this is good night, "Skullbanes". What a weird name.", and then, without warning, he spun viciously, smacking all three of them devastatingly hard with the end of the chains, knocking them all out in one fell swoop. After doing this he snatched the metal off of his wrists and rubbed them. "Now, I think I'll head back to the cool kids cave, my cave...definitely not going to that village again, that's for sure. Though I do like the title of Thunderbird..."
The Saiyan then rose into the air and boosted of at high speeds, surrounded by his purple aura straight to his current residence, a cave. "Thunderbird...it has a nice ring to it."
"Finally out of that annoying storm...", the tail-less Saiyan said with a feeling of relief. He had been trapped in that very same sandstorm for a pretty long while and there was no point in trying to fly out of it as the wind would just get in his way making it about as long as a jog through the storm.
