Tomoyo
It was off season on Earth, which mean GiGi had little reason to remain there. There was no point in keeping in-touch with all of the noise surrounding professional sporting events. Drug tests, public relations, stalking fans…
One would say she ought to be training; further honing her body to remain competitive in her profession. If she were a normal athlete, that might’ve been the case; however, being a ki-user gave Tanith an unfair edge in just about any physical competition. So, instead, she decided to go on a prolonged vacation… Into the afterlife.
Of course, such a thing wasn’t an easy decision to make. While Ogres could travel through the realms the strains it placed on them was hefty enough that transitioning could only really be achieved a dozen times a year. Still, the prospect of visiting a dimension she had only once before toured in was a more attractive deal than worrying about contracts and when she would be able to get her foot in the door in another career.
When she came to the afterlife she brought with her a massive hiking backpack, loaded with just about all the provisions she would need for a month — including some fun things like sports gear and some gadgets.
Strangely enough, Heaven had plenty of similarities with Earth. Or, at least the parts she had visited on both worlds were similar. Rolling hills with grassy coverings, little homes where souls were given shelter and the like. Currently, GiGi found herself gazing up at the crepuscular rays that danced between the clouds; it reminded her of Earth’s amber sunsets. The Ogre narrowed her eyes up, it was beautiful, but…
Her hand rose, bringing with it a large corndog, which she promptly chomped down on.
Deliciousness beats beauty anyday.
GiGi, focusing now on her snack rather than the wondrous sky, resumed walking through Heaven. The place was pretty — the food was alright, but the people were so boring. She hadn’t found a single person who even remotely shared her interests, much less were up to anything fun.
She was sincerely reconsidering her choice of comin’ here.
