Red hair broke the surface of the water as Raisu rose from beneath the waves, gasping to fill his lungs with air. Wet strands of hair hung in his face like curtains, obscuring his vision, the slightest touch of the salty sea stinging his eyes. Raisu blinked, chasing the irritation from his eyes as he went to push the crimson hair from his eyes. And as he did, Raisu was greeted with the light of the midday sun, shining brightly down on the blue, southern ocean. For a moment, Raisu felt at peace with the world, his Saiyan tail twitching beneath the surface of the waves. But it only last a moment, as the young hybrids began to make for the shore, paddling quickly through the waves.
It was not long before Raisu ended up back on shore, trotting out from the waves and onto damp sand. The sand gave way beneath his feet and Raisu nearly slipped, briefly sent scrambling up his sandy beach and towards his shore-side home. As Raisu walked, he rang the water from his hair and let the red mass of it hang down, the full length of it revealed: it went to just above his shoulders. As he came to the deck of his home, Raisu quickly dashed the sand from his red swimming trunks.
"Well," he muttered, "That was a good swim." Taking his time, Raisu pulled on a simple, white t-shirt over his body. And now that he was fully clothed, it was time to relax. The swimming had been his entertainment for the afternoon, and now he was left with a conundrum: what would the young halfblood do now? The day was still young. For the smallest of moments, Raisu considered popping into his gravity chamber for a quick training session, but he thought better of it. It was much too nice out at the moment to coop himself up in the cold, metallic world of his chamber.
So, instead, Raisu popped quickly into his home and retrieved his acoustic guitar. The strings slightly hummed as he picked up the instrument by its neck, and in a moment, he popped back out into the daylight. Raisu made his way down to the beach and settled into the sand, the warm grains rubbing up against his legs. And then, he began to strum, humming lightly to himself, alone in his own little world.
The hybrid was not the greatest player in the world, but he'd been practicing. It never hurt to have a hobby, and who knew? It might come in handy one day. Raisu's mind drifted back in time, more than a year ago now, to one of his first encounters with his human friends, Chaz and Ibby. They'd managed to get roped into some kind of concert together, but were found out and assaulted by demons. Crazy times, he mused, and those spent with good friends. Speaking of, what had happened to them? Raisu missed them! They had been such nice people, his constant friends during his travels.
Well, he mused, all good things must come to an end. And as he sat by the shoreline, his energy unsuppressed, Saiyan tail bobbing happily behind him and with the music, Raisu felt as ease. And strangely hopeful. Fate had a habit of bringing people to him and him to others. Who knew what might happen next?
