BLASTER MASTERS
Today had been a very long day. After reuniting with his parents and worrying for so long, the call of sleep had returned to drag Capper back to his dreams. The little saiyan laid half-asleep, sitting on a small stool near a table filled with numerous robotic and mechanical parts, dusty and untouched for a good year. Capper's room was an untouched pigsty that had only recently been given life once more. Watching the flickering, hypnotizing flames of a fireplace with a pot cooking some stew, Capper's eyes slowly began to close. Folding his arms and resting his head on his forearms. Everything felt so serene and peaceful, despite Vegeta's rather violent environment. His worries, his hopes, and everything else had quailed into quiet and subdued exhaustion. Today was indeed a long day.
Capper hardly felt something grabbing the scruff of his tracksuit. Turning his head slightly, the tired saiyan caught eye of the large skull of a bull-like creature. Tierdly eyeing a yellow glow emanating from the kitchen, Capper could make out his mother flicking her hand around, controlling the mighty Skull Blaster. The bull skull let out a quick grunt, shaking it's form somewhat and carrying the small saiyan around the corner, quickly letting out another grunt while another skull rounded the corner. Plopping the saiyan gently into his bed, which sported a musty and sad scent, the two skulls picked up the blanket and swept it across the now sleeping saiyan mechanic. With another snap of Chire's fingers, the skulls would fade into nothingness after tucking in her precious little son that had been "dead" for so long.
Wheras Chire's cooking was usually... quite explosive, the saiyan mother was somewhat calmer in the midst of her thoughts. Corza was right, somehow. Capper was alive! She was happy, but there was a longing sadness and sense of regret she couldn't swat away. Capper had been stranded on Earth, left to fend for himself. If it weren't for that snake, tennenman, and many more, Capper would have indeed perished on the Earth. She could have gone to the planet and searched for him, instead of assuming he was dead. She could have spared him from the earth's maw, she could have done this, she could have that...
Chire sighed, lowering her head and turning away from her half-finished dinner for the family, exiting their home and trotting into Collard's nearby bar. Peeking inside, Chire found the bar was it's usual cacophony of loud chatter, with each table sporting a cosseted huddle of people raising their voices to be heard above the din. The food Was secondary to the information that was exchanged there. Over the over-salted fries alliances were formed and gossip traded like poker chips. Trotting in, the female leaned against the main bar, causing her spouse and bartender to raise his head.
"Oi, Collard?" Chire spoke, her tune lacking the passion and vigor it usually sported. Instead, suppressed sadness and a tinge of anger took hold. Collard raised a brow, turning his attention to his wife. "Mm-hmm?" Chire sighed, speaking once more. "Can 'ya believe it? Capper's back. He was alive this whole time!" Shaking his head, Collard could easily pick up on Chire's anger of not being able to help her son while he was stuck on Earth. "Honey, there's nothing we could have done to know he was alive... Capper is home now, and he's with us- his family. That's all that matters." Collard spoke in his usual straighforward and calm tune. Collard too wished he could have done something to help Capper, but there was no point on dawdling on "should have" and "could have"s. Chire threw her hands up into the air, anger taking hold of her tone while the few late-night customers eyed the rambunctious female. "I know that! But he went through all that without us!! Can you believe it?!?!" Collard sighed, knowing that there was little point in arguing with someone as stubborn and headstrong as his wife.
"We should be grateful that he's still alive, and for those that helped him get this far." The saiyan father spoke, setting down a wine glass he was cleaning. The dapper father of Capper eyed Chire as she crossed her arms and let out a grunt, rolling her half-closed eyes. It was best to change the subject now, Collard decided. His mind strayed to the most noteworthy and rather surprising of Capper's new armada of friends- EGG the tennenman. "I'm just surprised a saibaman of all things could have done so much to help him..." Collard spoke, leaning back and putting his hands behind his head. "Well, duh! It's weird! Last time I checked, their entire species were a 'buncha brainless dopes that did whatever we told them!"
Chire spoke, the anger in her tone still prominent, but not suppressed. "There's that, obviously. But Capper respects EGG- I can tell you that much." The saiyan concluded. Any friend of Capper's was a friend to Collard. Chire was reluctant to consider an innately lesser species an equal, though... "That's weird. That saibaman is weird." She huffed. At first, the mother of Capper thought that Capper had bought the saibaman, but no! EGG was somehow raised with his own mindset- he wasn't some incoherently babbling pawn. Still, the Hoffersons as a whole were weird as well- and Chire had grown accustomed to the odd and strange.
Several skulls foated around the bar- unlike the ones that had tucked Capper in, these seemed to resemble that of one of Earth's gazelle. The blue skulls had curved horns and to small spikes where a lower jaw should have been. Their blue eyes locked onto the many customers while they floated around, carrying several drinks and plates of food. Some could even be spotted using their mouth blasts to gently warm up some platters of Collard's cooking. Things were quite peaceful now that Capper was back at his home, but things were still a little on edge. Chire and Collard were still not sure what to make of Capper's new friends, or his story of his times on the Earth. Still, they had to prepare for the Hofferson Family Reunion that was rapidly approaching, with Capper as the surprise guest of honor. Collard would only raise a brow when his specs, which doubled as a Scouter, picked up an approaching power- and a rather strong one as well. Straightening his posture, the father saiyan eyed the entrance to the bar while Chire stared out the window at the dark red sky of Vegeta's night glimmered with stars...
