It was a cold and snowy day on in the Frozen North, though most days in this area fit that description. On days like this, most Earthlings avoided the massive Mt. Frappe, one of the largest mountains on Earth, and most certainly the coldest. But Callion, a Saiyan who wished he weren't wasn't an Earthling, nor was he bothered by the freezing cold that surrounded him on Mt. Frappe's peak.
The young warrior sat cross-legged in a wide, spacious clearing next to a ten-foot pillar of solid clear ice. The pillar seemed to grow thinner toward the middle, then got thicker toward the tip and base. The clearing had at least a foot of snow between it and the ground, the snowfall from above was only adding to its height.
Callion sat in his standard black gi with matching pants and a red undershirt. A thick red belt was tied around his waist, that every so often would squirm a bit. This belt doubled as a compartment for his tail to hide in. His black boots and red strings were mostly buried under the copious amounts of snow, though the tips of the boots could be seen poking out a bit. By his side, and half buried in the white snow was his black gym bag, and on his back was his red and gold sheath. The sword inside had a black hilt and looked to be at least four feet long.
Callion's eyes were closed behind his black spectacles, and his hair was flat against his head thanks to copious amounts of gel and specked with some snowflakes here and there. The young man was meditating, the silence around him only speeding the calming process down.
Since Chai and Guardia's home was rudely destroyed by a rampaging Oozaru in the North Capitol, Chai and Guardia were back wandering around. They had somewhat of a purpose now with their newfound allegiance to the Galactic Patrol, though there still was an emptiness to be found in Chai's heart. It had been months since he arrived in this universe, but he simply could not stop fretting about his comrades in his home world. Were they okay without him? Were they even still alive, or did their world's President already wipe the Crimson Strikers out completely? It was concerning.
Yet, Chai had an oath to one day return when he was stronger. He was going to go back, he and Guardia were going to save everyone. But they still had a few things to check off the To-Do list before returning. Chai had to get stronger, Guardia had to eventually be released from his blade so he could regain his lost powers, and to top it all off, they had to become as strong, if not stronger than their world's President Bing. For now, the duo would increase their strength enough to be able to protect this world. It wasn't their greatest goal, but it was a stepping stone for their final plan.
The Northern Regions were a great place to train. The harsh, yet calming weather pushed one's limits, and Chai had met plenty of friends and enemies in this winter wonderland. Chai and Guardia had decided to do something they had long put off- spar with one another! Guardia had to learn to fight without Chai, and vice versa. The floating sword and goat from another universe clashed, exchanging basic bursts of ki. Chai raised up his shield of energy as Guardia swung himself downward, causing cracks to briefly slither across the energy shield's surface. Dissipating the shield and delivering a kick to Guardia's hilt, the sword would let out a telepathic grunt before he was sent flying back, bouncing off the ground and flying right above a certain meditating saiyan's head!
Guardia's blade soon ended up getting lodged in the bark of a tree, causing some snow to fall from the foliage's branches. Chai peered over a rock, eyeing Guardia then the meditating "human." '...Are we interrupting something?' Guardia would chime in Challion and Chai's minds. Vaulting over the rock he was peering over, Chai promptly trotted past the waiyan and yanked Guardia out of the tree his blade was lodged in after a little trial and error. The Galactic Patrolman eyed Callion, deciding Guardia's words were enough for now. Letting go of the sword, Guardia would float next to Chai while they awaited a response.
The young warrior's flickered open as Guardia's blade whisked over his head and blinked a few times. He left his meditative stance and looked around for a few moments before his eyes fell on Guardia, impaled in a tree. Callion's head tilted in confusion. For a moment, he thought his own blade had somehow escaped its sheath and flown into the tree, but he quickly waved the thought away. The young warrior treated his blade far too well for it to want to run away.
Then Callion's peaceful meditation session took a turn for the strange. Callion's eyebrows furrowed in surprise and confusion before a voice spoke in his mind. The young warrior clutched his temples in confusion at the sudden mental intrusion.
"What in the-" Callion began to say before another strange occurrence popped up.
A very tall man leaped over Callion, and upon sticking the landing, yanked the blade out of the tree. The man looked very intimidating, with his grim expression and stony silence. Callion took note of the man's animalistic features, such as his lavender fur and floppy ears.
Then, the man released his grasp on the hilt of his blade. Callion was about to start forward to catch it for him when the blade simply floated at its previous height, seemingly of its own volition.
"Uh," was all Callion had to say before his eyes widened as he suddenly recalled why he had climbed this mountain and sought silent solitude. He was so deep in his trance that the sudden excitement had distracted him.
While this Earth was a much better place to live in comparison to the young warrior's homeworld of Vegeta, both planets had one crucial similarity. Both planets had moons that emanated those accursed Blutz Waves, that turned any Saiyan into something... unpleasant. Callion instinctively looked skyward and took note of the fading daylight, and setting sun. The young warrior's fingers twitched with worry, though he now had another situation to deal with.
Callion quickly stood up, stumbling a bit as he did so. His body language and expression betrayed just how nervous and worried he was, and the red belt around his waist began to visibly squirm, as his tail always started to squirm when Callion was worried. Callion gave the tall lavender furred man a formal bow.
"Hello, my name is Callion! A pleasure to meet you," Callion began politely. "No, you were not interrupting anything, Mister tall fellow. However, I must now make a very audacious request of you. I am absolutely sure that you have climbed this mountain with an important purpose in mind, but I must ask you to leave. Please." Callion's pleading eyes begged the man to comply with his simple request and spare himself any danger or pain. Chai
'Wow, rude. Right, Chai?' Guardia would speak telepathically to Callion, rolling the single eye on his hilt and doing a sarcastic little flip in the air. He wanted them to leave when they just met? Most people just seemed to want to know more about the sword and the goat from another world. Chai sent Guardia a dirty glare for his disrespect, to which the blade raised a brow and spoke to his glaring partner. 'What...? What?!' The sword spoke, somewhat confused. Chai just sighed, rolling his eyes and glancing down at his partner.
"Guardia, how many times do I have to tell you NOT to be rude?" Chai spoke, grasping the bridge of his nose. Guardia's only response was a comical 'Pllllbbbbrrbrrt', mimicking the sound of someone sticking their tongue out and sputtering despite the lack of a mouth or tongue. Still, this scenario was a first for both of them. "But, uh, if you really want us to leave, we will." Chai spoke, tilting his head to the side, speaking in a meek tone. "Me and Guardia over here were just sparring. Oh! Right. I'm Chai. It's a pleasure to meet you, Callion!" Chai spoke with that same meek smile, turning around and whistling to Guardia to follow. "Come on, Guardia. We have places to be." Guardia didn't move from his spot, simply staring down Callion with a narrowed eye.
Why would he want them to leave right away? Most people were either wanting to spar, curious about their origins, or just nosy. Nobody would be like this without a reason. Floating up to Callion while Chai grit his teeth and stared down the sword, the blade would narrow his eye and speak to the supposed human. 'Nobody was ever this ready to drive me and my partner off without a reason. So, pray tell, what's gotten into you, human?' Guardia questioned in a somewhat hostile tone as the clouds began to part overhead, revealing the setting sun and some stars slowly appearing in the sky above. Sighing, Chai had already began to take off without Guardia...
Callion blinked a few times as the sword proceeded to call him rude before the severity of the situation began to set in, and Callion's face grew worried again. Callion took note of the tall man and the talking sword's names. Chai and Guardia. They seemed to have quite the dynamic, as Chai seemed to be a lot like Callion, polite, but a little awkward, while the sword was more childish and unagreeable. If the situation weren't so precarious, the young warrior would've found the pair of them quite fascinating. But for now, they needed to leave, before something bad happened to them!
Once the blade had floated over to him and said his piece, probing Callion for answers, the young warrior let him finish before giving the blade a low bow.
"Please forgive my r-rudeness, Mister Guardia," they young warrior, began apologetically, "but I simply cannot, in good consc- Ah!" Callion suddenly yelped as he took note of the sky. The Earth's Sun was finally setting, and that could only mean one thing. Dread washed over Callion, as he decided that politeness would have to take a backseat to urgency if lives were to be saved.
"Listen," Callion said sounding a lot less apologetic, "I need you to leave immediately, Mister Guardia, before something bad happens to you!"
Callion's eyes pleaded with the sword before the young warrior jerked. The change was beginning to take effect. Callion shut his eyes in pain in worry, as he used all of his willpower to force the change to cease. Unfortunately, as he did this, his frustration at his futile efforts was only furthering the process.
Callion doubled over in pain, falling to his knees and arms wrapped around his stomach, his glasses falling into the snow.
Don't look. Don't look!DON'T LOOK!
Sweat coalesced on Callion's brow as he forced his eyes to remain shut. A vein formed over his right temple and his teeth clenched tightly as the Full Moon slowly began to rise over the horizon. Callion's tail was in a state of panic and fought its belt prison in order to be free!
Callion began to apologize to the blade, but seemed to fumble with his words quite a bit. The blade raised his golden brow when the man looked up at the sky and the setting sun. The full moon was out to, and it was awful pretty. Yet the moon looked pale and wan, as if it shouldn't be up on a night like this. It rose unwillingly and hung like an ill specter. Still- what possibly could go wrong on a beautiful night like this? The rock in the sky cast sharp shadows of the bare trees across the land while stars began to appear in the sky above as the sun went to bed.
Now the human's tone was a lot less apologetic, replaced with some panic and urgency, oddly enough. What was wrong? 'Can ya just tell me WHY you want us to leave?' Guardia questioned, his tone filled with some confusion and suppressed... fear? It was concerning, to be honest. And Guardia was not a blade to leave someone in need! 'If there's somethin' dangerous about, you should come with us! There's strength in numbers, after all.'
The human doubled over, falling in the snow and clenching his stomach. Okay- now Guardia was concerned. 'CHAAAAAAI!' The blade echoed in a yell, despite not needing to yell with his telepathy. he was concerned, and he had to get Chai over here to help Callion! Was he sick? Was he having a heart attack or something? It concerned the blade. "WHAAAAAAAAT?" The goat resounded, having already travelled a distance away from the sword, as Callion requested. 'I THINK CALLION'S BROKEN!!!' The sword echoed back telepathically. Meanwhile, Chai would sigh and fold his arms. Guardia's tone was concerned, and even a little fearful. But Callion wanted them to go away... '...Ah, fuck it.' Chai couldn't leave someone in need behind! If something was wrong with Callion, Chai would help!
Bounding back over to the group, Chai would leap out of the bushes and land bu Guardia within seconds! And needless to say, their new acquaintance did not look so good. Did they need to bring him to a hospital, or...? Gritting his teeth and glancing around in confusion, Chai would grab hold of Guardia as the blade spoke. 'Callion said if we stick around, something bad will happen! Didn't say what, though...' The blade spoke with a roll of his eye. 'He's almost as cryptic as you!' Chai sent Guardia a dirty glare before rolling his eyes, folding his arms and focusing back on Callion. Kneeling down, he's try to help the apparent human to his feet, only raising a brow when he made out something wriggling under his belt...
Callion could barely Guardia's words over the ever increasing volume of his own heartbeat. His panting escalated, the breaths of air visible in the cold mountain air, and the sweat on his brow had increased to the point of it dripping off of his face. Callion slammed a fist into the cold ground, his Saiyan strength causing a crack in the ground that shook the area like a minor earthquake. The young Saiyan began to let out screams of discomfort as Chai made his way over. At the sound of Chai's approach, Callion, in a much deeper voice called out "NO! STAY BACK! OR EL-" Callion's warning was cut off as his eyes flew open, from the pain he was experiencing.
There it was. Earth's Full Moon. Hanging in the sky like an accursed chandelier, radiating those accursed Blutz Waves. Callion's face relaxed and his eyes went wide as he stared at the moon. He ceased the clutching of his stomach and his arms fell to the snow as he sat there, staring past Chai and Guardia's concerned face and hilt. Slowly, Callion began his first and only change into the one thing he had always feared.
The metamorphosis began from the top. Red slowly filled the Saiyan's eyes, washing over the whites and black pupils. His teeth, once perfectly smooth and white slowly grew into fangs. His nose and mouth slowly grew into a gorilla's angry muzzle, his features going from relaxed to angry. His lean frame slowly began to bulge and swell, growing more round in the stomach, and slowly putting on more and more muscle with each passing moment. The raven black hair on his head slowly returned to its original state, ignoring the gel he had put on it, and the hairs all over his body slowly began to grow out more and more, his body coating itself in a thick layer of coarse black fur. The Saiyan swelled in size, growing at least five feet a second until his body's size reached its breaking point at sixty feet tall! He would be plainly seen by all who lived in the area at the top of the mountain. His width now took up much of the clearing, pushing aside the central ice pillar, and breaking it off from the base, causing it to topple over into the snow with a loud crash.
The growing had torn asunder all of Callion's clothes but his wristbands, which had actually grown along with him! With his belt gone, Callion tail, which had grown in proportion with him, now swirled in the air flicking every now and again, like a muscle that had gone unused and needed to stretch.
The Oozaru opened it's maw wide, releasing a massive roar that shook the Mt. Frappe to its base! The creature then looked down at Chai and Guardia and unleashed a second roar, this one aimed at them. The snow around the pair parted at the force of the sound. The creature was hungry, and soon...he would be fed!
Chai tilted his head in confusion and concern as Callion struggled against some... thing. Chai wasn't sure what was going on, but a chill would be sent down the goat's spine as he took a few steps back when the human barked in a much deeper tone to him. 'Uhhh... Human?' Guardia resounded, floating near Callion and poking him with his crossguards.
But all that pain and struggling from Callion was soon was replaced with an eerie blankness when a light was cast over the three warriors. Turning around, Chai would stare up at the Full Moon Callion was affixed on. Glancing from the orb in the sky to the human, Chai wasn't sure what to make of this. Sure- the full moon caused saiyans with tails to have similar symptoms to this, but the goat could not see hide nor hair of a monkey tail on Callion. Looking up at the orb in the sky, Chai would soon hear Guardia's telepathic voice chime in his head. 'Hey Chai, you're an earthling. Are human eyes supposed to turn red?' Guardia questioned as he prodded at Callion's limp form. '...Oh no.' Chai's expression sunk. Red eyes? Full moon? Going blank? This all could only have one, horrifying outcome! "GUARDIA, GET BACK!" Chai hissed, quickly lunging for his sword. Guardia let out a surprised yelp as Chai grabbed him and ran away from Callion, holding the blade for battle in both of his paws. 'What?! What are you doing!?' Chai turned around after distancing himself, allowing Guardia to see the human's- no, saiyan's metamorphosis. The sword let out a telepathic gasp as he saw Callion change. Fangs grew, claws formed, and the saiyan grew to an immense size! Standing tall with the full moon casting a shadow of the monkey over the duo, the beast would let out a primal roar to the skies above- and Chai and Guardia seemed to be the target for his next snack!
'....WHAAAAAAT?!' Guardia resounded, looking to Chai. "You ready to fight, partner? We've taken down one Oozaru- let's make that number two!" Chai spoke, releasing Guardia and holding out a balled fist to his partner. The initial shock of the saiyan's transformation faded from the sword, determination taking it's place. Bumping his own crossguard against Chai's fist, the two partners quickly readied into their stances and faced the roaring beast. "Guardia- let's divide and conquer. You charge an attack to cut that tail, and I'll create a diversion!" Chai spoke, balling his fist and letting two spinning stars form in the palms of his hands. 'You got it, partner! Cover me!' Guardia responded, flying up forwards and around the Oozaru, light flickering from his blade. The sword flew above the clouds to charge his attack safely, while Chai remained on the ground below. He still had his weighted coat on, and fighting without a sword was something he wasn't the best at... Shaking his head, Chai would take a few steps back, not bothering to hide from the beast now. He had to protect Guardia until his attack was strong enough to revert Callion back to normal!
"HEY, UGLY!... Fuck, sorry, that was rude." Chai spoke to the beast, raising an open palm with a bright light forming inside. "Your fight is with me now!" Chai spoke, his face serious and eyes narrowed. Readying into a defensive stance, the goat would wait for the Oozaru to make the first move...
The Oozaru's heavy breathing was almost rhythmic, its massive chest rising and falling with each heaving rage filled breath. Suddenly, the creature that was once Callion threw back his head, and let out another roar, before raising its thick, muscular arms and slamming them down as hard as it could! The resulting shockwave shook the mountain and a massive crack began to open up beneath Chai, though it ceased its spreading before it could become large enough to swallow the Zoanthrope.
The Great Ape looks furious that its attempt to bury the tiny creature failed and let out another roar, this one literally shaking the mountain beneath their feet, as its two massive fists pounded into its chest as a sign of dominance and challenge!
The ape suddenly dashed forward, much faster than its size would suggest, and reaches a massive right hand out, grabbing at the Zoanthrope's frame and attempting to pick up the small creature! If successful, he would take no time in squeezing his fist, and subsequently Chai's body, seeking to crush the Zoanthrope's bones in his grasp!
If the goat man dodged his attack, the Ape would growl in frustration, as his fist scraped into the ice covered stone ground, leaving a massive imprint behind, as the creature angrily swinging its left arm in the hopes of knocking the small goat man off of the mountain, and feasting on its corpse later!
If the swordsman blocked his attack with some sort of shield, the Ape's red eyes would glow with rage and he would begin a furious assault against the protective barrier, bring both massive fists down against the shield repeatedly, with surprising speed and unmatched ferocity! As the creature pounded on the barrier, it would roar loudly in Chai's direction the pressure of the sound pushing back the snow with the force of its volume.
The creature's massive black tail swung back and forth, almost inviting someone to attack it.
The ground cracked beneath Chai due to the mighty Oozaru's roar, causing his feet to spread apart a little from the crack forming on the ground between his legs. Quickly hopping off to the side as the crack grew in size somewhat, Chai took the time while the beast pounded it's chest in a declaration of battle to measure up it's power level. This Oozaru had to be at least ten times as strong as the one he and Guardia one-shotted in the North Capitol! It would take much more planning and tactics to beat this beast, and add another tally to Chai and Guardia's Oozaru Win Count.
Chai took a step back when the ape dashed forwards. Running back to avoid the beast's grasp, Chai's weighted speed just wasn't fast enough to avoid the giant ape! But before the creature could grab the goat, Chai would feel his form get yanked into the air, and thrown right over the beast's head! Breaking through the clouds for a moment, Chai eyed Guardia as he charged his attack. The sword gave a quick salute to his partner, having thrown him with his telekinesis to avoid the beast's grasp! Smiling in response and wordlessly nodding to Guardia, Chai would land back on the ground behind the Oozaru.
Turning around, the air would be knocked right out of Chai as a massive fist was swung his way. Hit by the the Great Ape's left fist, Chai would be sent flying back with a yell. Hitting a tree while flying back, the foliage would falter and fall back from Chai's impact, but managed to stop the goat from flying off the mountain. Shaking his head and catching his breath, Chai looked up to see Guardia's glow above the clouds. His attack was getting stronger, for sure... But they had to make sure it would be enough to cut off Callion's tail so he could revert! Shaking his head, Chai's glance flew to the Great Ape's tail, prone for grabbing...
Quickly dashing over and hopping on the branches of many trees, Chai would dash between Callion's legs and attempt to leap up to grab the end of the creature's tail! Should his attempt prove successful, Chai would wrap his arms around the large appendage, digging his nails into the tail to see what would happen.
The giant ape roared in fury as the goat escaped his grasp yet again! This infuriating little morsel dared to test his patience?!
The Oozaru beat his chest in rage while the two partners had their little friendship building exercise! Dashing forward, the great ape successfully landed a blow on the small snack. Triumph! The ape brought its now bloodstained fist to its snout, and took in a massive sniff, relishing in the scent of blood!
The creature's massive body turned to the side, about to go after the puny creature when something caught its rage-filled red eye. Looking up at the gray clouds, the ape saw something flying there, doing...something. Then, the scent of that goat man seemed to be moving! Toward his behind!
Quickly turning his head, his snout breathed visible air, as the creature's massive black tail quickly whipped itself out of the goat man's path, before trying to smack the falling goat's figure hard in the back. This would prove painful, as the Ape's tail was all muscle. Once the goat man had been struck, the ape moved forward in an all out offensive, attempting repeatedly bringing his massive fists down onto the goat man's wounded figure.
The Great Ape would howl as he did this, the sound rolling all the way down the massive mountain. The howl was one of victory! Soon he would crush this any, and then he would feast like the animal he was!
