Continuation from here: [ X ]TomoyoThe first person to have awoken Noxa from her slumber had been… Tomoyo. It was as unexpected as if Abzerute himself had returned from death’s doors to pay Noxa a visit. Her reaction was fitting to that scenario; upon hearing Tomoyo’s voice and opening her eyes Noxa let out an unwittingly girly scream, flailed her limbs, and promptly fell from her wooden stump. The titanic redhead rose with a rather sour look on her face; she glared down at Tomoyo from behind her now cracked shades.
She was happy to see the boy again, but if she recalled correctly the boy couldn't fly — and he had somehow managed to find himself on the opposite side of the world. An exasperated sigh escaped the woman as she proceeded to interact with the boy.
It wasn’t long after their little exchange that Noxa and the young hybrid found themselves very deep within the park — far from the roads and other populated areas. They were deep in a heavily wooded territory; one could completely be fooled as to this being a forest if it wasn’t for the very distant sounds of early morning traffic. On Noxa’s hands were a pair of doggy bags smelling of delicious food, which she held out to the boy — within was a salty fast food meal and hot chocolate.
She hoped he liked McBao’s.
Noxa carried with her the duffel bag she had originally brought to the stand, which she had let Mr. Floofs to watch over. Noxa would open her bag, drawing from it a large double cheese burger. Her hot chocolate cup was removed from the bag and kept suspended by her side by a thick, scarlet vine that moved out from beneath her hair.
“So, are you sure about joining the Noxa Force?” Noxa wondered, “Because this isn’t just a game, Tomoyo. This isn’t a super hero play. This is a serious thing.”
She took another bite from her burger, chewing as the collar bot showed up in front of the woman — her hair extending to click at the holographic screen projected beneath the heart-shaped, palm-sized droid. The screen itself was as big as a 21 inch computer monitor. As Noxa toyed about with it a 3 by 3 grid of squares became visible on the screen.
Still, she spoke while chewing.
“This is a grown-up thing, where we do grown up things… Although if you were to join your biggest job would be training and taking care of Mr. Floofs… Still, sometimes you have to do things you don’t like as an adult — this won’t be just fun and games.”

Following along behind the amazonian woman quite happily, Tomoyo casually ran a hand the back of his hair absentmindedly. "Noxaaa, Where are we going?" the half Saiyan complained in a whiny tone as the cold and long distance began wearing on him as the two traveled towards some heavily forested area that seemed almost too out of place in the cold-yet bustling city outskirts; heck, Tomo could have sworn he had heard some form of a highway or road bustling with auto-activity somewhere near. "My feet hurt!"
Finally though as they passed the umpteenth tree into another densely forested area that looked just like the rest, Tomoyo successfully plopped onto the ground as Noxa deemed it fit for them to stop. So tired from the walk, Tomoyo had barely brought his attention back to the elder as she tossed him some sort of bagged meal... it was "Mc Bao's?! Thanks Noxa!" Grinning to his babysitter before ripping open the bag, Tomoyo hastily dug his hand into the paper folds while nearly burning himself in the process in search of a particular plastic object. Yet sure enough after some shuffling around in the paper bag, out came clutched in the child's hand just what he was looking for as Tomo beamed at his new prize: A Mc. Bao's toy! (Specifically a toy car with the former President's face stamped on the side like a seal of approval~)
So, are you sure about joining the Noxa Force?
At the Bio Android's sudden question though, the child paused himself just ready to start ripping into the greasy sandwich that had come with the meal. Beaming at the woman before patting his chest with pride, the child's wide grin only widened at the thought of letting Noxa in on his little secret. Leaning over while holding a mouth over his mouth on the complete wrong side, the child hissed over at the older woman to listen. "Pssst. Hey Noxa, can you keep a secret?"
Leaping back up and onto his feet, Tomoyo turned the strap of his pack so that it was wrapped around his stomach instead now before slowly opening up the top zipper to let light spill slightly; the small sliver of light that filtered into the back would reveal what had been making the most of its horizantal bulge, being what looked to be a red and black helmet. "I AM a super hero!" The child announced happily, seeing no reason to tell Noxa something so cool about him. Tomo was just so happy that he was right and Noxa was really making a super hero team! He fit the bill perfectly! "This is going to be so much fun~" Even though she might have not heard of him, Tomoyo's recent activities especially involving the recent Western Capitol bank robbers had gotten enough public exposure to warrant news coverage, though barely to broadcasts that spanned the Western area; so it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that she might recognize the helmet from the pictures that had been captured (let's not kid ourselves, Tomoyo purposefully posed on the building for that photo) of the terrific tot.
Feeling a little disappointed though that the trusted grownup wasn't trusting Tomo enough yet it seemed, the Human hybrid child took a deep breath of air into his lungs before inflating his chest in hopes of seeming tougher and bigger... not that it worked. "I'm grownup enough! I've stopped two bank robberies." Puffing out the air, unable to hold the pose for long and adding fuel to the opposing point, Tomoyo's brows furrowed as he tried to think of more things to convince the elder. "....Oh! And one of them was a cat lady too!"
About to spurt into more nonsensical reasoning as for why Noxa should let him do grownup stuff, the flashing lights of the sudden nine squared grid caught the flustered kid's attention. Pointing one finger at the design while tugging on Noxa's black robes, Tomoyo tried to get her attention and answer his question. "Hey Noxa. What's that?"

Noxa had a long, complex relationship with ‘heroes’; she wasn’t entirely sure how she felt about them. They like had always been a bane at her side; from Zilyana to Satan City, any moment she stepped out of line there were always those incessant do-gooders believing they had some divine right to carry out whatever action they wanted upon Noxa, who was just abiding by the laws of nature.
It was because of heroism that she had killed Mu-Kal; it was because of heroism that Noxa had always been so very careful about hiding evidence of her meals or kills — going as far as to expand her murderous rampages just to make sure no one lived to breathe about her actions.
However, there was also those like Captain Nova — the very first person to show Noxa any kind of selfless behavior or sacrifice. Just thinking of him made her heart ache with the knowledge that he had long been killed due to the actions of that vile, disgusting Tekuma.
And just like that, Noxa felt anger stirring in her, completely replacing the sadness with a sensation the burned like acid at the bit of her being. That anger was reflected within the air around her, which grew hotter by the moment.
She wasn’t sure how she felt about Tomoyo calling himself a ‘hero’. Her complex emotions were best tugged at the point of realizing that he was just a child, not understanding his actions — in a major way, that reminded Noxa of how she behaved for a majority of her life.
In her experience heroes always met bitter, unfortunate, early ends — which, in turn, made them abhorrent violations of the only rules that existed in the universe: the laws of nature.
She hoped she could turn Tomoyo away from that corruption before he fell too deep into it… But, of course, the choice was his to make; Noxa could only try to explain to him the error in his ways.
“This,” Noxa said, “Is a grid; we’re going to play Tic Tac Toe. Do you know how to play it?” Noxa wondered, “Basically, you win if you get three of your symbols in a line. You will be ‘O’s, and I will be ‘X’s.” Noxa explained briefly, finding herself sitting down so that she wouldn’t be too far above and thus not to keep the holograph out of his reach.
Noxa crossed her legs and found herself placing a big ‘X’ at the very center of the top row of the grid.
“Also, Tomoyo,” Noxa explained, “I don’t think you understand — still… Not necessarily because you’re a child, but because you haven’t had a lot of life experience yet.” She noted, “This job isn’t about ‘heroes’... Sure, we’re going to wear fun costum--” Noxa cut herself, swiftly fixing her mistake, “Uniforms. And pose. And train. But not everything we do will be seen as ‘good’.” She said.
She took a long pause, wondering how it would be best to put this in terms that the boy would understand.
“For example — let us say you were starving and had a family, or friends to feed. You had no money. Would you steal bread to feed the people you cared about?” Noxa wondered, “What about killing someone who did nothing wrong to be able to feed them and keep them from dying?”
These were heavy, dark, concepts that Noxa was introducing the boy to. However, Noxa saw nothing intrinsically wrong with what she was saying; the woman had no experience with dealing with children — hell, she hardly had enough experience dealing with adults. Feeling the air around the two grow hotter as Noxa thought to herself for a few moments, Tomoyo scratched at his hair in uncomfortably. Reaching up his hand, he'd try to tug on the older woman's sleeve in order to at least check on her. " Are you okay, Noxa?" Tomo posed the question, echoing his thoughts as he tried to think of what he said. Did he just give her too much information to process, did she not believe him about being a super hero? " That's not fair. I am one!" Defending against his own conflicting mindsets, the hybrid just about waged a mental war against himself before he tuned into Noxa speaking once more. Listening in on the rules to the game as Noxa explained them, Tomo simply nodded slightly. He'd played the game before, if anything it was just one of those things that everyone knew how to play right? " I mean, Teku didn't know about tag though, but..." trailing off for a few seconds before taking notice of Noxa lowering herself to the ground, his mouth curved in a thankful smile as the amazonian woman sat onto the ground to allow him just as equal access to the grid. " Thanks!" Shuffling his feet through the grass for another moment, Tomoyo repositioned himself by turning around before attempting to plop right into Noxa's lap, or else if deterred simply sit next to her. His neck tilting back so that his forehead knocked against Noxa's chin, Tomoyo giggled in glee before raising up a finger of his own. The appendage hovering precariously in front of the grid, the half Human stuck out his tongue in deep thought... before just forgetting all of that thought in a moment. Shrugging his shoulders and carelessly tapping a finger on the grid, a circle shape appeared where his finger tapped right underneath Noxa's own shape! " You're turn~" the child hummed happily before looking back up the the scarlet commander with a hint of innocent intrigue. For example — let us say you were starving and had a family, or friends to feed. You had no money. Would you steal bread to feed the people you cared about?Brow furrowing as his face contorted in confusion, Tomoyo raised an inquisitorial expression towards Noxa. " Huh? What do ya' mean?" He asked, not knowing if maybe this was just a silly question or Noxa was being weird. " If I didn't have any money... then I'd ask them real nicely and promise to help them with stuff!" There was no point in stealing, plus stealing was bad anyway. It made people hate you when you took stuff from them without asking, so might as well just ask them for it! As for the second question though, Tomoyo was already bouncing up and down ready to either continue playing or answer more questions... but his motions soon fell to a still as he heard the second question. What about killing someone who did nothing wrong-" ..." The child's voice died down quickly as his gaze lowered to the area where his legs and Noxa's intersected. " ...I-I..." His voice squeaking out barely audible, Tomo fought down the urge to fall entirely silent as memories he had previously tried to repress emerged. Screaming in the middle of the street, covered in blood as Tomoyo was desperately trying to carry a feline girl "dead" in his arms... a memory of falling down a deathly drop, tears nearly blinding while holding close Tulip's lifeless and gashed body... Both of these instances at the time, Tomo had been convinced that even indirectly or directly he had killed these people; and even with the girl who had attacked people and robbed a bank Tomoyo felt a crippling depression at the thought of it being his fault almost for the near loss of that life. " ....killing people is wrong... I don't wanna kill someone." Mumbling almost inaudibly, Tomo managed to wring an answer from his lungs before falling silent once more. " ..." " ...It's your turn." Take Mr. Floofs and go home Tomoyo; this isn't the right place for you.
Lifting his gaze back to Noxa, Tomo understood what she was saying without any more words being necessary. The group wasn't a group that Tomo could join... because they did bad things? They did stuff... like killing people? "...does that mean Noxa, is bad?" The hybrid slowly tossed the idea around his brain before shaking his head. "No... Noxa's still really nice though..." It didn't matter even if Noxa did bad stuff like.... killing.... Tomo knew that she was still a good person right? If she was as bad as he had considered, she would have never been nice to him and stuff right? Comforting him when he was scared, giving him food and candy as rewards, teaching him how to fight better to defend himself!
Lifting himself back onto his feet shakily, Tomoyo turned around before wrapping his arms around Noxa's neck in a quick hug. "...I'm Sorry Noxa. You dont... hate me, right?" He asked, half wondering if maybe his response had made Noxa hate him. Maybe she was sending him away because she was so disgusted by him she couldn't even bother looking at him! Feeling sick at just the thought, Tomo shut his eyes tightly as tears edged their way near their exits. "I'm sorry." Apologizing once more for good measure, the hybrid would turn around and release the elder from the embrace before walking off towards where they had left the aforementioned puppy.
Climbing onto the large canine softly, Tomoyo would cling onto the beast's fur before urging him onward. As the puppy's soft feet padded once or twice with every meter distance traveled, the child's mind blanked on just exactly what direction they were going even. It wasn't until they had ended up exiting the forested area on the complete other side from that the three of them had came from in that Tomoyo was snapped out of his stupor. "Wait where are we going, Floofs?" the child hesitantly shouted into Hideaki's ears, still unsure as to the direction they were traveling. If he didn't know any better he would say they were going somewhere West; it was even in the same direction as... "Oh no-"
"Floofs! STOP!" Upon screaming out loud, Tomo would hastily urge the pup to stop moving and upon successfully doing so would dismount. Gasping for air at the near avoided disaster, Tomoyo slid down the giant dog's mane before his feet softly thudded against the soft earth. Raising up a hand to affectionately pat Mr. Floofs Muzzle, Tomo offered the puppy an apologetic smile. "Heh, sorry for scaring you Mr. Floofs. But... Um... I can't go back home." Chewing on his bottom lip, Tomo debated informing the puppy for a few seconds before issuing another pat on Hideaki's neck. "...don't tell anyone... but I don't have anywhere really to go home to. I don't have anywhere to live anymore so... Um, you can just go back to Noxa now. She might get worried if you're too long, Mr. Floofs!"
Bowing to the puppy in apology, unaware that he was even capable of understanding the language, let alone inform anyone else of what he said, Tomoyo stood back up to his full height once more before stretching out his arms wide to his side. "Here, you can have the rest of my food." Giving the fluffy pelt of the large white dog another good hug and rub before setting down the bag of mostly intact fast-food next to the dog, the child proceeded to shrug back on his backpack before walking back eastward. "Bye Mr. Floofs. Love you!" Bidding his dog friend farewell, his legs trudging quite low and lacking the child's normally springy step; Tomoyo began the relatively moderate journey back to Satan City. After all, he still had things he needed to do there before he was ready to leave. (Also Tomo may have in his excitement dropped a few objects...)
