History:
Mephistoph has lived for so many centuries upon centuries his beginning years a but a blur. He is sure at one point he was just but an ordinary human being, as insignificant and pathetic as the rest of them. His human life was of no important though, and as such it is not a particular area in which he sheds much thought. Those miniscule count of months and years mean nothing to the being he is today, a demon lord who doesn't even care to take measurement of time. The furthest back at he can and does remember is his uprising, oh what a glorious time it was.
The torment was legendary, hatred flowed much like the spilt crimson of the innocent, washing over guilty and pure all the same. Mephistoph was but a bug then, a low tier creature just barely free of daily maulings and torment. He lived a dirty life. One filled with wretchedness and indignity, but also one of non-content. He thrived in the hell dimension because it was power that he desired and thirsted for. Nothing could ever get in his way of growing stronger, more influential, and terrifying to all those in his realm with him. Many attempted to slay him, merely because he was a small little creature overrun by mammoth sized demons of war and pillage.
Drive and bloodlust would fuel the demon to crack open the Mountain of Tears, his dull pale flesh was bathed in the flowing magma staining him with merciless vigor. Mephistoph made an oath to himself: rule all and crush everything else. He began a journey to supremacy by remaking the broken Mountain of Tears, recasting it as a labyrinth of pain a suffering, a kingdom for him to rule, his Castle Ragnarok.
The completion of his castle drew attention of a demon lord crowned Badion. Badion knew Mephistoph as a weakling, a runt to be picked at and crushed into submission. He had no way of knowing Mephistoph's power was not far greater than his own. The two clashed upon the steps of Mephistoph's castle. Time in their realm was inconclusive but their battle surely waged on into the months stretch. In the end Mephistoph had made Badion his first display of power, and to prove he was a force of pure destruction he feasted upon the remains of his opposition in clear view for all to see. For many of the demons existing in the demon realm this was an act of disrespect to the highest order. Something vile had crept up in their wake, without their knowledge, and now demanded that they take notice. And take notice they did.
A team was assembled, nothing too particularly outstanding mind you, but a herd of demons collected nonetheless. The death squad moved through Mephistoph's mountain in silence of a night period. Needless to say, the attempt on Mephistoph's life was a failure. Though their group of seven managed to wound him, Mephistoph quickly dispatched all wouldbe assassins and in the aftermath he left their disemboweled forms raised in the shadow of his castle.
Demons began to grow wary of Mephistoph, and soon they began to realize he was a monster to be feared. He did what he needed to survive and made sure everyone else around him fell in line under his rule. This was all many centuries ago, it is merely the first memories Mephistoph is able to call on. From there he became a traveling force of wreckage. Destroying, gutting, maiming, terrorizing, and razing all that he so saw fit to.
At one point he even became a nuisance to the Kais. Realizing what he was and the utterly terrible things him capable of, the Kaioshins drafted an idea to seal him away in the stone of his own mountain. Mephistoph fought and threatened the entire way into his imprisonment until finally the setting of the stone silenced him. For millennia he waited unable to move, speak, feel, or see. All he could do was hear; hear the sounds of demons rejoicing in his seeming demise, then hear the sounds of his castle crumbling into a sea of flames, and finally he heard everyone forget him. His name was no longer something to tremble and whimper at, but one that caused confusion until the point where the name Mephistoph was never heard again.
More millennia passed and finally the rock he was imprisoned in cracked, Mephistoph was released. The kais looked on him with pity, everything he had fought and caused decimation for had been lost and once again he was nothing. He looked for mercy, the last few millennia of being forgotten made him feel wake and less than nothing, but the Kais revealed his imprisonment was but the first part of his punishment. His second was to be banished to the physical world where he would be bestowed with a conscience, forced to suffer the consequence of his every action. Many of the Kais were unsure of this plan, they wished to make him suffer and see the wrongs he had committed but they were not positive if setting him free was entirely well planned. However they did agree that making choices, whether good or bad, and living with the ramifications thereafter would be a priceless lesson for the demon - and the Earth had many protectors now just in case Mephistoph ever did revert to his old ways. And so, stripping him down to a fraction of his power and implanting him with a newfound conscience, the Kais sent the demon to live on Earth.
