Watching the final move the blue-haired man used, the young hybrid could feel her entire body trembling as it sent the Arcosian flying. She looked down at her hands, only to find both shaking furiously. She bit the inside of her lip, almost drawing blood, as the blue-haired man bowed and the Arcosian picked herself up off the ground. The woman struggled to retain her composure as both contestants brought their power levels back down to almost nothing. Through the blows she had traded with Makaz, the woman had unlocked the ability to detect power levels. She had tried using it on her soon-to-be opponents, and the result had almost floored the young hybrid; she hadn’t sensed a strength, a number, or even a feeling to gauge the monsters standing on that arena. She had only gotten one, overwhelming word that screamed through the entire woman’s body and mind; Death Pushing herself to her feet, she stumbled past the other contestants still in the tournament, towards the small changing area that was further inside the prep area. Walking slowly into the women’s room, the young woman sat down slowly on a bench facing the row of mirrors. Looking up at herself, she could see the weariness, doubt, and crippling fear mirrored in that emerald gaze. She was, quite literally, a mess. The woman stared at her still trembling hands, before whispering softly. “Was...claiming to pursue the title of Strongest...something that was impossible for me? I can’t face that man, not now, not ever in the future. He is too strong! I only glimpsed his full strength for a second, but it could easily smite me from existence!” Her voice rose to a shout, as the woman slammed her fist into the bench, splintering the thin, wooden surface. Her bag fell to the ground, top opening and spilling out the contents. She reached inside to put the contents away. Bandages, some food supplies, and...Tulip’s hand froze as she touched a familiar red shirt. Far too big for the young woman’s small frame, the crimson red was notably marked by a different red that splotched the pattern irregularly. She sat there, hand on the red shirt, as she tried to recall the face of the man who had given her this shirt. A tall, handsome warrior who was willing to fight me, when I was far weaker than I was today, at this tournament. His attack, that struck through my weak Ki and left me bleeding on the ground. His compassion, as he tended to my injuries and left me food, water, and bandages for later. And, the most haunting part of the entire memory; his parting words. “I’m sorry.”
The hybrid sat there, staring at the red shirt in her hand. Her trembling had stopped, as she recalled the promise she had made, lying in the dirt and staring at that man’s broad back. I will get stronger, facing defeat and hardships alike along the way. I will not let another fight end in ‘I’m sorry’. I will never give up, until I get you to smile and tell me ‘That...was a good fight.
Rising from her chair, she pulled the shirt on over her white tank-top, letting it drape just below her waist. She tucked the edges of the long shirt into her pants, before turning towards the mirror. Her gaze had changed, into one of determination and dedication. She began walking towards the doorway that led to the arena, mind already focusing on the battle to come. “Here comes our young contestant, a beautiful girl who has only won one round in a surprising manner! Tulip! Unfortunately, Tulip, I doubt your opponent will let you win this round quite as easily!” The announcer jeered the young woman, as the crowd continued cheering for their newfound champion. The woman ignored both and walked across the stone plaza until she was completely across. Turning, she took up a defensive stance, thrusting one arm forward and tucking the other into her side. Making a fist with her close hand, Tulip left the other hand open with a palm. Her feet naturally slid apart to the proper width as she watched for her opponent to exit the preparation room. As she stood there, heart hammering, a single, idle thought crossed the woman’s mind. Let’s...use this loss to become stronger, shall we?

(Thread PL: 10,479,701)
Vi-Poi arrived with his hands in his jean pockets, still in his pale jeans, Electric Funk Armada top, and his timeworn West City Bombers’ cap. His expression was one of curiosity and thoughtfulness as he surveyed his next opponent. A cheery grin lit up his young face. “Half-and-half, huh?” He said, his eyes large blue eyes flickering with graphs and scrolling text. “Saiyan and human genomes are like peanut butter and jelly. Better when slapped together.”
As the android opened up his heart reactor to battle rates a great groan of wind battered down from the sky, the gust slow but steady and large, like the incoming waves of a newly arrived ocean. The bleachers in the stands trembled, and the ground shook ever so slightly.
“Should I be worried?” He asked as he took his hands from his pockets to do some deep knee bends. “Word on the interwebs says you’re already a world fighting champion,” He grinned as he webbed his fingers together and cracked them audibly. “Not on Earth, though,” He added.
When the gong rang Vi-Poi rose up off his feet, sneakers hovering just above the tile. “Let’s make this a good show, okay? My sensor says you’re power level is fifteen thousand,” A smirk came onto his lips. “But I have lots of experience with this sorta thing. Strain or stroll, I don’t buy that fifteen thousand is your max. You’re not even burning your chi, yet.”
He lifted a hand, a bright blue fire surrounding his fist with a blaring whistle of energy. “And you’ll probably need it all for me,” He said, focusing more of his power into the shining ball at the end of his raised arm. Thunder suddenly grumbled across the bright blue sky, forks of white lightning dancing high above in response to the concentration of power.

The woman’s eyes only narrowed further, heart still hammering, as the man who was a monster strolled onto the battlefield. He was still wearing the casual attire he had been in for the previous match. His expression was a mixture of curiosity and thought when he met her emerald gaze. A grin that was full of cheer split his young face, as the man leaned forward towards the woman. “Half-and-half, huh?” His large, too-blue eyes turned blank for a moment, as though he was focusing on something else. “Saiyan and human genomes are like peanut butter and jelly; better when slapped together.” When the last words left his lips, the air suddenly shifted inwards, before blowing outwards slowly. The woman could only watch in shock as the entire area shook from this man’s start-up. This was far worse than an open blast of power; she couldn’t sense the terrible power that had devastated the monster from before, but knew somewhere deep inside this man was hiding it. And that horrifying thought froze the woman's soul with dread. He mentioned her wins on Woatera as he began stretching. He ended it by webbing his fingers together and cracking them audibly. A terrible grin was on his face, as he spoke the undeniable truth. “Not on Earth, though.” Before he could go further, the gong rang. The woman only half noticed it due to her own indecision, as the man floated off the ground and continued talking. Saying something about a good show and power levels. Something about hers not even being max. That was when the first, dreadful show of power came into play. Raising one hand into a fist, a blazing blue fire coated his hand with a whistle of intense energy. “And you’ll probably need it all for me.” The power grew in intensity, the blue light surrounding his fist becoming even more powerful. The blue sky overhead suddenly became darker as lightning crackled overhead, drawn here by the intense power. Tulip didn’t have a choice. She knew what this man wanted, and knew the terrible might he contained within his thin frame. That tiny ball in his hand was already so powerful it could easily crush her suppressed might. Her vision blurred as she began breathing heavily. I can’t win, I’ll be killed! This is impossible! Giving up isn’t a sin! My pride isn’t something worth dying for!She felt something warm on her shoulder, as she glanced back. A figure, standing behind her. The sun blotted his features, but she could already sense what the message being said was. The one thing you should never give up, even at the cost of life, is your pride as a warrior! Face this man with all of your might! Show him just how strong your potential is! Don’t die sitting down, face your death and overcome it!
Her shirt rippled, as the woman shouted loudly. Her shirt actually lifted off her body, as the ground at her feet shifted and cracked. Her emerald gaze sparkled, as the woman looked up at the man high above her, looking down on the hybrid as only a tool for entertainment, his and the crowd’s. Her power level finished spiking, but it wasn’t enough. Draw upon everything, take hold of my potential, become strong enough to overcome this HURDLE! The ground splintered even further, as the woman threw her head back and shouted even louder. Thrusting one fist outwards, silver aura completely coated her arm, focusing on her fist. Energy crackled through the aura, sending dust up into the air around the hybrid as the woman lowered her gaze back on the man high above her. This is it, my strongest. Now...let’s see how far it gets me. The ground cracked and shattered as the woman almost vanished, launching herself up towards the blue-haired opponent. She brought her charged fist back, intent on punching her opponent directly in the face with all of her everything. Even if this fails...I at least tried, Cal-. The woman’s eyes twitched as a stab of pain shot through her head. She couldn’t remember the name of that man, only the gift and memory he had left her with. As she closed the distance between her and the opponent, Tulip shouted in rage. “Reach, DAMMIT!” Full PL released, 24,984. Hidden Potential activated, x4 - new total 99,936 [MP3] Ultimate Ki-Infused Strike used, for 100% current PL - 99,936 KP 0/3

Vi-Poi’s grin of triumph was quickly wiped away as Tulip’s shirt went above and off her body. A red flush shot up his face and his jaw went slack, both hands slapping over his eyes. “I’m bliiiinnnd!” He cried, recoiling as if hit, though in truth he’d covered himself before he could see what, if anything, was underneath.
His covered eyes did not serve him well when a cheer rolled through the crowd and Tulip came barreling down, smashing a full-powered fist into his jaw. The impact flung him backwards, and he skittered against the tiled floor like a stone skipping across a lake, his bouncing body leaving ripples and breaking stone all the while, “Ow, ow, ow, ow,” He grunted with each smack on the ground, speeding perilously close to the edge of the ring and a surprise loss.
A spike of fear ran through his systems at the thought, the emotion emboldened by the prying, cloying nature of Poi’s hold on his circuits, and Vi-Poi shot his feet down in panic, hoping to halt himself before it was too late. His sneakers met stone, collided through it, smashing into the earth underneath. He dug in, shin’s deep, huge furrows of dirt rising up on either side of his legs as his body continued to slide backwards. At last, with a loud kiai, he halted the movement.
He wavered and straightened just at the edge of the line of gleaming white tile. The audience let out a loud gasp in unison, and then, there was dead silence. Any further, an inch more, and he would have been ringed out. A great furrow of ruin spread forth ahead of him. Vi-Poi rubbed at his jaw. A faint pink mark was lined against his pale flesh.
“Dammit!” He exclaimed, excited and angered all at once. “That was too close.”
She blinded us, Poi’s ghost complained. We can’t take that lying down. An eye for an eye. Let’s moon her!
Vi-Poi snorted. The Premier of Earth wasn’t about to do that.
“I’m afraid that’s the closest you’re going to get to winning, though,” He grinned, a blue aura bursting around his body. "Because it's my turn now.”
The small android blazed forward, yelling with a growing kiai, moving so quickly the air behind him turned into a super-heated cloud of steam. When he reached Tulip, he intended to break her defenses in a single vicious flurry of rapid punches to her arms and body, slinging around her from different angles to beat her like a pingpong, followed by a flying grapple with his leg, his thigh and calf catching her by the head like a nutcracker before executing a whirring backflip, the momentum hurling her high up into the air. Tulip Waterfield (Vi-Poi temporarily blinded and slightly bruised, nearly ringed out) (Attempted to beat Tulip down)

As her fist slammed into his jaw, the woman’s eyes widened in shock. She hadn’t expected the attack to reach, let alone strike fully. All of her energy was transferred in a resounding boom that sent ripples through her shirt and hair as her punch finished its arc and the man went flying towards the ground. A sudden, burning pain shot through her entire body, as the woman began falling towards the ground. She heard the man crying out in pain as his body skipped across the arena floor, shattering the tiles as he went. The hybrid was only hopeful for a second, when the man suddenly thrust both his legs downward. He continued his backwards motion, legs digging trails through the arena floor. He shouted loudly, using determination to finally halt his backwards movement. The woman finally hit the ground, shattering tiles as she fell onto her knees and one hand. Not...hard enough. Tulip thought wearily, as the man began rubbing where she had punched him. He had stopped right on the edge of the arena, proof that her punch wasn’t enough to decisively end this match. He cursed and looked at the hybrid, excitement and anger both written on his face. Tulip forced herself to stand, as the man began speaking across to her. “I’m afraid that’s the closest you’re going to get to winning, though. Because…” A grin split the young man’s face, as a blue aura flared up around him. Dust began rising from the air as the man clenched his hands. “...it’s my turn now.”
Tulip felt the entire aura of the stadium shift, as this man vanished. She only saw the air in front of her face distort with heat and turn to steam. The hybrid instantly threw up her guard, both arms crossed to defend her jaw. She didn’t see or notice when it happened, but she heard the tiles behind her crack under the weight of someone stopping. A single strike hit her in the center of her back, sending her forward in shock. Another crack, this one from the front, and a second strike to the pit of her stomach. The woman’s breath was driven from her lungs, when another punch hit her side and almost sent the woman to her knees. As she started to fall forward, another punch to the stomach sent her back to her feet in shock. She couldn’t see, smell, or sense the attacker currently demolishing her. But the blows were real. Each blow had the might of a train behind it, and it was all the woman could do to not fall. As she stumbled backwards, attempting to discern her enemy, she saw the man for only a second directly in front of her. A single, pompous backhand was all it took to break her guard and spread her arms wide open. As the woman struggled, trying to draw the energy to yank her arms inward and block, she waited for that agonizing knockout blow, the one punch to the jaw that would leave Tulip a mess on the ground for the next two hours. Then, the woman felt the man’s legs close around her head, before she was thrown high into the air. She couldn’t muster her ki, as she spun over and over through the air above the arena. Left like this, the woman might land on the edge of the arena. But this man wouldn’t end the match like this. That’s not how a legend would finish an opponent who gave their all. “Guess I put a little too much mustard on that than I thought,” Vi-Poi remarked, watching her tumble down from the sky. With a burst of speed he appeared at her side, following her downward trajectory. “You’re pretty much ready to go,” He said to her, his nimble chi easily propelling him around the twisting trajectory of her semi-unconscious body, keeping a tight orbit with her so he was always facing her. “You put up a better fight than some ten times your level,” He congratulated, then gave a wink.
It was no ordinary wink. It was a wink he’d practiced for what would have been billions of cognitive hours at human brainpower. It was a wink he’d analyzed from a continuous array of angles, in every different instance ever recorded. It was a wink that came with a dazzling sparkle of light and a wallop of magic-infused chi energy.
It was the Bao Wink, one of the former-president and superstar Bao’s most potent charms. Vi-Poi, having idolized the greasy wrestler like none other, having put him in a pinnacle where no soul resided save for the Majin action movie veteran Ornion Shallotnagger, had mastered that charm. And now it’s full force was being used to stun the already dimmed Tulip into total mindlessness.
Afterwards, he’d attempt to latch onto her hands with his own, and spinning her in a tight tornado that would cause a column of wind to shear into the ground. Once his speed turned burning and dizzying, he’d hurl her from the tournament grounds, launching her far enough to crash into a beach over the mountains, on the other side of the island. It was a pleasant beach, one that his BlueNet said contained more than one good margarita bar. She’d need the booze, after this.
"Have fun!" He yelled.

Her body flew upwards and back through the air, ground spinning in and out of view as she continued her path. Tulip’s eyes widened in shock as her opponent started speaking.
“Guess I put a little too much mustard on that than I thought. You’re pretty much ready to go.” The man suddenly appeared in front of her, matching her movement through the air. He winked and congratulated the woman. “You put up a better fight than some ten times your level.” Tulip’s senses were suddenly numbed and her vision faded to black.
Water washed up onto her feet, and the woman’s eyes shot open. She was lying on a sandy beach, which she had never seen before in her life. Slowly pushing herself up into a sitting position, the woman slowly stretched her sore body. I...survived Falling back into the sand, the woman stared up into the blue sky. She reached one hand upwards towards the blue sky, grasping the sun far above her head with her hand. Then she let the fist fall to the side, landing in the sand. The woman began laughing, softly, as she continued recovering from the fight. She had survived...and her opponent had told her she did well, especially for her strength. ...hopefully, you’re proud, father...and Cal- Her eyes winced as the same pain shot through her head as before. I guess...that name is still repressed. One day I’ll remember it...and find that man to thank him. For giving me a goal, a drive, and a reason to stand up.
