"Chai's Dialogue" 'Guardia's Telepathy' 'Chai's Thoughts' 'Guardia's Thoughts'
WE'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER GOAT
Chai sat atop a branch of bamboo, just taking a moment to stare at the sky. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming... It was a perfect day for a mother and father to go out and play a game of catch with their child. But now was no time for play! Chai had a tournament to train for. After taking a little break to reminisce on his successful escape from his universe, the goat hopped off of the stalk of bamboo, quickly trotting through the woodlands. Guardia peeked out of his hilt, chiming in and speaking to his dear partner. 'You've finally got of your lazy butt to train, aye?' The sword spoke in a surprisingly cheery tune. Chai and Guardia's home universe felt so far away now... It was great to ahve that weight off their backs, but Chai still had the guilt of leaving his friends behind. But he would go back, somehow. And he would save them, someway. "Mmm-hmm. We've got a tournament to win, partner!" Chai hopped off a hill, his feet screeching against the ground.
Trotting through the woods, the goat came to a stop in a clearing. A variety of scents met his nose, but what caught Chai's attention were two nearby powers. They were somewhat familiar.... Had he met these people briefly in his universe? Or maybe he met them at the tournament meetup? It was most likely the latter... Stopping in his tracks while Guardia ever so slightly peaked out of his sheath, the goat and sword duo could only wait as the powers approached...

The woman sprinted through the bamboo forest, weaving between the bamboo stalks and using well-placed kicks and jabs to destroy the solid stalks. Landing, she spun and smashed one fist into the earth. The ground shattered and exploded outwards, as the girl slowly rose to a standing position. Shaking her fist gently, she blew on it softly. "Wow, that hurt a lot more than expected." Rotating her fist and listening to it crack, the woman winced and began walking down the shattered path. She was destroying plenty of things in this forest, but nothing that wouldn't grow back in a few years. She paused as she approached the clearing she was calling home. A strange person was standing there, a cross between human and goat. The woman wiped her eyes with her hands and realized that she wasn't dreaming, this was in fact a goat-person. Sighing again, she continued her walk forward and declared her presence. "My name is Tulip, and this is my home. I'm giving you a proper warning before I force you to leave. I have no extra food or water, and have next to no Zeni. Attempting to fight me could result in injuries for both of us, I'll have you know. So, what will it be: leave or fight?"

Retsu had been flying over the forest, a large bundle of Bamboo in his arms as he did so. He had harvested some for the home he had been building for a month or so. As he zoomed over head his scouter pinged, Warning him of two power levels over his preference. He frowned and tried to ignore it, but curiosity always got the better of him. A sigh escaped him before he turned and headed down towards the two Power Levels.
He landed in the clearing, an equal distance away from the both of them, arriving only just as Tulip spoke. He tapped his scouter, reading her power level, before looking to Chai and scanning his. He looked back to Tulip before he spoke up.
"I wouldn't be acting so high an mighty with such a small power level such as yours." He said, breaking his silence. He frowned. "You could be more polite, and ask this... person to leave." He looked Chai up and down slowly before fixing his white cloak. He turned his focus back on Tulip. "So, in the spirit of keeping this non violent, Kindly ask them to leave instead of threatening them."

"Chai's Dialogue" 'Guardia's Telepathy' 'Chai's Thoughts' 'Guardia's Thoughts'
WE'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER GOAT
It wasn't long before the first power Chai sensed made herself known. The hybrid seemed familiar, though that was the least of Chai's worries when the woman, Tulip, threatened Chai with a strict command- leave or fight. "Oh... Uh, I'm sorry?" The one-eyed goat spoke, mildly shocked. Guardia poked out of his sheath, the blade sliding halfway out of the leather bindings as his one eye locked onto Tulip, his disembodied voice speaking a single snarky remark. 'Rude!' The blade spoke, narrowing his single eye at Tulip. Both Chai and Tulip could hear Guardia's remarks.
So, what would Chai do? Fight or Leave? Well, the lady did say she didn't have any food, water, or Zeni... Shaking his head, Chai moved his hand to the brown parcel slung around his torso. "I, uh, have some food if you'd like some. It's not much, but it's... edible." The goat spoke, flicking the bag open and rummaging around. The bag around his torso held a few capsulized rations of food and water, while the pouch around his waist held more practical supplies like a tape recorder and grappling hook. Guardia turned, lowering himself into his sheath a little more, suspiciously eyeing his longtime goat partner. 'Chai, why are you giving this rude lady that just threatened you food??' The blade inquired. Chai was just too damn nice sometimes. The goat shrugged, pulling a few capsules out of his bag and holding them in his furry white paw with another shrug, closing his eyes and responding to the sword. "Well, I don't want to be rude as well, Guardia." The blade huffed, narrowing his eye at the merciful goat. '...Ugh. I swear this kindness is going to get you killed someday!'
Chai's ear twitched as that other power snooping around neaby descended down- an Arcosian! This one was a little familiar was well. But seeing him fly down just reminded Chai that he really, really needed to learn how to fly before the tournament. "Oh. Hello there!" Chai greeted the Arcosian, while Guardia let Retsu in on his telepathic link, speaking to him, Chai, and Tulip now. 'Run while you still can, arcosian! This girl's crazy!' Chai put a hand on Guardia's hilt after his little remark, shoving the sword back into his sheath. "Shush, Guardia."
Guardia sighed, his sheath shaking a little before coming to a stop while the sword planned his next move. Chai shook his head, directing his attention back to Tulip. "...I do have some jam I made as well, it'll probably make what taste better. I was... saving it for later, but you can have some if you'd like. That's all I have got to eat, though..." Well, Jax did always say to kill his opponents with kindness. The goat held several capsules in his four-fingered hand, his single eye locking onto Tulip. Chai's scarred form stretched a little as he closed his eyes, speaking once more. "But if you want me to leave right now, I will. It was rude of me to intrude." Chai concluded. He was still wondering why these two were so familiar... Then he remembered! He saw them at the tournament signups! "Yet... I do recall seeing you two as well signing up at that tournament the other day as well." The goat spoke with a faint smile, folding his arms and shifting his body weight onto his right foot, speaking once more with a quick head bow to the hybrid and the arcosian. "I am Chai- a Zoan, and this here is my partner, Guardia.... You can come out now, dude." Guardia peeked out of his sheath, blinking a few times. '...Really? Okay. Anyways! 'Ello there! Don't mind me, just a sentient demon in a sword.' The sword telepathically spoke to the group one more, hopping right out of Chai's sheath and perching on the ground and bouncing a little like some kind of living pogo stick...

“Huh? Power level? You talking about my Ki?” The woman was irritated by this individual calling her weak, but her interactions with the various beings thus far made her hesitate on calling him out. She had taken a lot of beatings in the last week and a half, but none fatal. Considering there were two possible opponents, Tulip might not walk away from this one in one piece. When she heard the figure’s suggestion, she understood his intent. Deciding that mentioning how tacky his white cloak looked, the young saiyan hybrid turned back and took a deep breath. When she started to apologize, the goat-man spoke first.
He apologized, and another voice spoke right after his. Ventriloquism? The goat-man shook his head and reached to his pouch. Pulling out a small parcel, he offered it to her, explaining it was some rations he had prepared. The other voice began complaining as the woman took the proffered food. She began eating the dry biscuits as the goat-man spoke to the alien behind her. The sword called her crazy, which irked the woman a bit. She understood, though, that her reaction had been severe. It was then that the goat-man suddenly had a revelation, face lighting up with satisfaction.
“I recall seeing you two as well signing up at the tournament the other day as well.” The goat-man spoke, slightly grinning, as he shifted his stance and crossed his arms. With a slight nod of his head in Tulip’s direction and the alien’s, he introduced himself. “I am Chai, a Zoan, and this is my partner, Guardia.” His sword shifted by itself, a single eye blinking visibly at the woman and shocking her. She didn’t catch much of it’s speech outside of being a disembodied demon.
Finishing the biscuit and licking the crumbs off her fingertips, the woman strolled forward in front of Chai. Slowly lowering herself to her knees, she bowed deeply and spoke firmly. “My apologies for my harsh words, Chai. I immediately responded in a selfish and arrogant way, and you still offered me food, which is a proof of your kindness. So, I’m sorry.”
Then she slowly rose to her feet, stretching her shoulders. Pointing towards a direction behind her, she began explaining. “Down that way is a stream which supplies clean water. It doesn’t taste spectacular due to the mineral content, but it’s perfectly healthy. I only have a bit of water from my last trip to the city left, due to my rigorous training after signing up for that tournament. I only have a few days left till the actual event, which had me on edge. My name is Tulip, and I’m the daughter of a Saiyan mother and Human father from a planet far away. Hopefully we can all get along in this forest I call home.

At the talking in his head he frowned. He hadn't given permission for anyone to speak with him telepathically, he however would say nothing about it. He listened to the two go back and forth before clearing his throat.
"I've killed people stronger than the both of you in the past." He said calmly. He cleared his throat when Chai spoke up about the tournament. He looked towards Chai. "I too signed up for the tournament. I am not in to win, but should I it would be a pleasant surprise." He looked to Tulip as she Introduced herself next and sighed.
"I am Lord Retsu." He said, placing a hand on his chest before bowing his head. "Ex-General of the Arcosian Empire."
He'd listen in silence as Tulip apologized to Chai, before he smiled. "There we are." He said.
He turned his head towards the direction Tulip had mentioned a stream. He looked to them and thought for a moment before he snapped. "Show me your training." He said. "I want to see how strong you are. Some times the scouter can lie about power levels."
He'd quickly motion to his chest. " Punch me as hard as you can in the chest. Let me see how strong you are."

"Chai's Dialogue" 'Guardia's Telepathy' 'Chai's Thoughts' 'Guardia's Thoughts'
WE'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER GOAT
"Arcosian Empire?... Hm..." Chai closed his eyes for a moment, in thought when the Arcosian, an ex-general of the fallen empire from Chai's universe introduced himself as Lord Retsu. 'So they're still around in this universe... A lot of things are different here, that's for sure. First a surprisingly calm Levlidian, Earth not taking over the galaxy...' Chai thought, eyes still closed. This universe was very different from his own- namely because this world was in an era of peace. In Chai's world, everyone lived peacefully so long as they obeyed and submitted to the president. People who resisted were promptly disposed of in the era of false peace. Looking up at the sky and opening his eyes once again, Chai stared at the peaceful blue air with his tired eyes. 'Well... At least they have it better than me.' An entire world where everyone lived in relative harmony. A world that had not fallen. Chai would have never thought such a world was possible back in his universe, but here he was now.
Guardia rolled his single eye when Retsu spoke of killing stronger people than Chai, Guardia, and Tulip in the past. 'And I've seen people that transcend your power by a landslide in my millenniums of being alive. Like, there's this one guy that's a good... uh...' The sword paused for a moment, closing his eye and thinking, before turning to his partner and speaking telepathically to the group once more. 'Chai, back me up here, I can't sense Ki and you know it. You know who I'm talking about.' Chai closed his single eye and gritted his teeth for a moment, knowing damn well who Guardia was referring to. The strongest fighter in his world's existence. The one who fell empires and ruled over the entire galaxy... The evil one who triumphed over good. Opening his eye uncertainly, Chai scanned Retsu's power with his Ki Sense. The arcosian was relatively weak, but Chai was aware of the use of weights, Ki suppression, and the many transformations the changelings had access to. It was clear by Chai's expression that whoever this strong person was- he wasn't too fond of them. Shaking his head as his distraught expression returned to neutrality, the goat spoke with a hand on his chin as he spoke to Retsu. "Hm... I'd say you're a good two-thousand times weaker than the strongest person I have had the displeasure of knowing with your current power, at least. Though it's awful hard to put numbers on someone's strength without a Scouter..."
'And there it is.'
Chai closed his eye once more for a moment, staring off to the side and speaking in a overwrought and somewhat pleading tone. "...Please, do not ask about the details." His Earth's president was a touchy subject for the goat, and Chai had already given them more than enough vague information to his true origins. Now for a subject change! Still eyeing Retsu, the Zoan spoke once more, pointing a finger to his missing eye as he concluded his statement. "But I know you Arcosians are quite strong as well. One of your kind was strong enough to do this to my eye!" Defrosch- One of Bing's right hand men had ripped out Chai's eye like it was nothing. The goat shuddered, his form trembling for a moment as he recalled the searing pain when it was ripped out, and Guardia's pleading shouts to the malevolent changeling... That fight just proved how powerless Chai really was. "Then again, I can't say that's too much of a feat with my current power..." He spoke, running a hand across where his eye once sat.
Turning to Tulip, Chai smiled when the hybrid apologized, much to his and Retsu's pleasure. "Ah, it's fine. I was the one who barged in, after all." Chai spoke, waving a hand dismissively, and trying to push away the thoughts of his home universe. Retsu spoke once more, telling Tulip and himself to "show him their training." "Hm?" Chai spoke, tilting his head for a moment. The arcosian wanted to see how strong the zoan and hybrid really were- and ordered for the two of them to punch him smack-dab in the chest. Chai took a step back, clearing the area between Tulip and Retsu, and speaking to the saiyan hybrid. "Well... Ladies first. I'm more of a defensive fighter myself anyways, so..."

The woman didn’t voice her thoughts, though, after listening to the goat-man talk to the Arcosian. If he was really as strong as the Goat said, and then there were people even stronger, this world was definitely worth coming to. She was ready to question the goat’s story, when he suddenly said not to ask further. Tulip was slightly disappointed by this, but didn’t let it show on her face. This tall Arcosian was definitely a mystery, though. Stepping forward, past the goat and his talking blade, she began rolling her shoulders. Ladies first, huh? Seemed like a cowardly way to test the waters.
“Don’t mind if I try first. Hiding behind the ‘defensive’ stereotype is pretty insulting, though.” The woman commented, as she finished stretching her arms. Spreading her feet apart, she let out a deep breath. The air around her began shimmering as a light grey light began enveloping her. She dug her toes into the earth as she brought one hand to her side and pushed the other forward, just in front of the Arcosian’s chest. The gray aura grew in size, almost becoming a swirling tempest as sweat began forming on the woman’s face. It suddenly vanished, as all of the energy focused into her one fist. A bright, gray aura was visible for only a moment, before that vanished as well. The woman’s emerald gaze darted to the Arcosian’s before she spoke once more. “I’m in the tournament to win, but doubt I’ll be able. It will be amazing training though.”
Right after finishing, she punched forward with her ki-infused fist. The ground at her feet broke from the recoil of the strike, as she delivered a punch that had the all of the power the woman could muster. The ground at her feet broke further as she pushed forward, intent on driving this punch completely through the Arcosian. Aliens could heal, right? Her emerald gaze darted up to the Arcosian’s face to check his reaction. Wha-?!

Retsu was quiet as both Chai and the sword spoke. They spoke of people stronger than him, which caused him to laugh. "Oh I know there are stronger people out there. Compared to the one I now ally myself with I am but merely a fly. His power stamps mine out no question. And he's not even the strongest on this planet. He told me of others so much stronger than I...." He narrowed his eyes, a frown over taking his face. " Especially that Bitch of a Saiyan Queen..." He muttered.
Chai asked not to be badgered for detail, and Retsu would respect that. "I'm sure where you come from is the same as others I have faced before in combat. Their world ravaged by war and poverty. People killing each other over silly things or fighting for freedom against a tyrannical Government." He shrugged. "You hear a lot of stories when you are sent out to conquer planets. I've been meaning to begin writing a list of all the phrases and words I get repeats of."
"I don't mean to brag." He said. "But as it stands now I'm down to five percent of my full power." He smiled. "In this form I'm usually at Ten." He looked to Chai's eye when he brought attention to it before clearing his throat. "To be fair. Ripping out an eye is hardly a feat of strength. Even as a toddler I could have done it to anyone I wanted. Even the inhabitants of this world, with their small power levels can do it with their bare hands. Though I would suggest you get that eye replaced. Some Cybernetics would help you see once more, and possibly even increase your chances of survival in a fight. I've seen many wounded Arcosians go through the same treatment."
He turned his head to Tulip now, watching her as she spoke. "Defense is a perfectly legitimate strategy in combat. And often times it can result in the opponent tiring out so that you may take the final blow against them with ease."
He watched in mild fascination as Tulip gathered her Energy before she spoke again about how she wanted to win. Seems most did for one reason or another. Then the punch came. The impacted on Retsu causing him to grunt out, though he did not budge from the impact. Sure it hurt, but it didn't hurt as bad as it COULD have.
"You call that a punch?" He asked, Narrowing his eyes. "I've been hit by trees stronger than you." He motioned to her stance. "Your stance is too narrow. Widen it. You also went for a chest punch, instead of a gut punch. ALWAYS go for the gut punch." He sighed with a frown. "And you seem to have problems maintaining your Ki. It seemed you were straining to gather it."

"Chai's Dialogue" 'Guardia's Telepathy' 'Chai's Thoughts' 'Guardia's Thoughts'
WE'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER GOAT Chai's single eye widened a little when Retsu took a wild guess at the goat's past. "Damn. That's actually pretty similar. I mean, the poverty and war is already done and over with where I come from, but you nailed the tyrannical government part right on the noggin." It was true that the angsty background was usually common around fighters, but Chai's rather tragic tale was something of it's own. The egdelord goat's eye closed halfway when Retsu spoke of making a list of phrases he's heard over and over again, while Guardia piped up once more in response. 'Oh! You should totally do that- it's fun! I've already made a mental list of certain phrases in some gossip I've heard over the millenniums I have been alive.' The sword glanced off to the side in thought, staring at nothing in particular. 'So far one of the most common phrases in recent years has been "Is that a talking sword?" Props to you for not saying that, though.' Guardia spoke telepathically to the group, leaning against Chai's leg as his eyelid drooped a little.
The arcosian then spoke of hiding his full power, causing Chai to nod while Guardia rolled his single eye. Arcosians were a hardy and powerful species that were incredibly strong from the get-go. 'Mm-hmm. Last time I checked, Arcosians like yourself have four main forms from an early point, with your True Forms making you about ten times as strong. Right?' After that, Chai forced a meek smile and scratched the back of his head when Retsu spoke of an eye not being a big feat to take out. "Well, it hurts, I'll tell you that." Chai spoke, that same meek smile on his face. When the arcosian spoke of getting his missing eye replaced, the goat nodded, imagining himself with a cool robot eye that could shoot lasers for a moment. "That would be pretty neat. I'm a wee bit broke, though." The goat concluded, a disgruntled frown crossing his face. "Seriously, having cruddy depth perception is truly a struggle."
After Chai offered to let Tulip punch the Arcosian first, the goat narrowed his eyes when she spoke of him hiding behind his little defensive technique. Retsu was quick to clear up that defense too was a good strategy. Chai waited out and stalled until his opponents tired, then went on the offensive. Nodding, the goat spoke while grabbing Guardia by the hilt, holding the sword up somewhat. "Yup. Me and Guardia try to combine our offensive and defensive powers. I'm the shield, and Guardia's quite literally the sword of our tag team. We have a long way to go, though." The goat spoke in a modest tune. He knew he was weak, and wouldn't stand a chance against Retsu, should he use his full power. Guardia's eye curled up somewhat as the blade spoke, holding back some laughter. 'I guess you can say... I have quite the offensive edge in a fight!' Chai frowned at his partner's pun. "Don't."
Tulip quickly wnt on the offensive, punching the Arcosian in the chest. Retsu didn't budge, but it looked like the strike stung a little. The lord was quick to point out a few flaws with the attack, while Chai nodded in affirmation. After Retsu was done speaking, Chai rose a finger while moving his other arm behind his back, speaking to Tulip with a pair of closed eyes. "Think before you strike, kiddo. Continuous impulsive and reckless actions without consideration of any parts on your body you are opening to attack can doom you in a battle." Opening his eye, Chai nodded once more and concluded his thoughts. "I can confirm the gut punch is the best punch, though. It winds your opponents real fast. I'd put it right next to the leg sweeper in terms of usefulness." Guardia's eye twitched a little, and the sword turned away from the group. Pouting for a moment, the blade sulked and spoked in an arrogant tone. 'Tch! Just you all wait until I get my true form and my arms back, and I'll show you how to punch! You'll all see soon enough!'
Chai still eyed Tulip, watching to see what the hybrid would do next. Folding his arms, Chai heard Guardia's voice ring in his head alone. The sword cut Retsu and Tulip off the line, wanting to speak with his partner alone for a moment.
'Chai?'
'Yeah, G?' 'This Tulip lady's kind of familiar... Do 'ya think we've met her, uh, back at our home?'
'Perhaps. I can't deny this odd feeling that we've met before.' 'Hmmmmmmmmmmm....'

Tulip’s mind was too focused on her punch doing nothing to hear the rest of the conversation. Her gaze traveled from her hand back to the Arcrosian, listening to his advice carefully. With a nod, the woman began amassing her energy again. A sudden beeping filled the air, causing the woman to pause. Her gaze shot towards her pack, before she excused herself. Jogging over, she pulled out a small pager. Checking the message, she sighed in irritation. Turning back towards the two, she bowed in their direction. “Thanks for the lesson, Lord Retsu. Nice meeting the two of you, Guardio and Chai. My match has been drawn; some guy named Vipoi. Suopposed to be a big-shot; so I might lose. Talk to you all further down the line!” With another nod in their direction, the woman grabbed her belongings and began jogging down the road towards the city.
Sorry about this; I can’t figure out where else to go, and Tulip is horrible at chatting about anything not battle-related. PL please for this thread, no bonus.

"As I said." Began Retsu. "You meet all sorts of self Proclaimed Heroes and Tyrants, whom will boast and brag about their power, or the plight of their people when you are sent out to Conquer Planets." He smiled to himself, shutting his eyes as he reminisced. "Always so enjoyable to watch their faces go slack when I either Kill all their goons and claim the planet, Or kill said Tyrant and claim the planet for the empire..." He shook his head.
"Actually a funny story. The planet I ended up Conquering that gave me the title of Lord was in the middle of a terrible civil war. Both sides were fighting and killing each other for no real reason other than a territorial dispute. It was rather funny now that I think of it. Being so angry over such a small planet's territories..." Retsu smiled. "I arrived and they banded against me. Calling me a horrible invader. Calling me a monster. And yet, I killed less of them than they did. In all I think I may have killed two or three, yet they had slaughtered each other in the thousands. In the End I challenged their greatest Champion to a one on one. I defeated him, claimed the planet, and then Turned its economy and police system around. They entered a golden age under my rule and They hadn't been happier." He nodded. " Of course then the planet was hit by a meteor and blown into nothing more than space dust. I know not the fate of the Survivors, but I do hope they are alright. Such a hardy, if not tiny folk."
He cleared his throat then looked to Gaurdia. "As for talking swords, you are hardly the first. They are actually quite common among more magically inclined races in the universe." He chuckled before focusing on Chai as he spoke of an arcosian's various forms.
"That is true. Most of us only have four or so forms. However, those of us whom are stronger have broken past such limitations and reached a form far beyond that of our true form." He nodded. "And, if legends are correct, there may even be a Sixth form. One rumored to give you the Strength to stand up to even the mightiest gods."
He turned his head to Tulip, as Chai spoke to her. He had been about to speak when an alarm of hers went off. He offered her a wave before turning his head towards Chai as Gaurdia went on about getting his true form back. Retsu smiled. "Adorable." He muttered.
He took a step in front of Chai, staring him down with a signature coldness that Chai may have seen in the past. He brought one foot behind the other, hunched over ever so slightly, and held his hands out to the side. A smile came across his face. "...Shall we spar?"
