"Chai's Dialogue" 'Guardia's Telepathy' 'Chai's Thoughts' 'Guardia's Thoughts'
WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR GOAT
Chai had been avoiding sleep for many hours now. Ever since he arrived in this universe, the goat zoan had plenty of anxiety and fear due to his rather... shocking dreams. Most involved the death of his comrades at the hands of the Special Forces. However, the leader of Universe Five's Rebellion was still a mere earthling, and succumbed to his exhaustion and had fallen asleep in his cave with his partner, Guardia. Chai was tired. He had always been tired after becoming the leader of the rebellion. Everyone's hopes, dreams, all pinned on him. It was stressful having to carry everyone's burdens and keep hopes high in the hopeless situation, but he managed. And oh, how close he was to actually saving them all...! But no. He failed. Chai was tired of being the sole bearer of hope. He was tired of the fighting and conflict. He was tired of the death and despair. All he wanted now was peace. Peace in his own world. But what could someone with a power as insignificant as his own do...?
Chai lied on the floor of his cave, eyes closed as his form was lying down against the wall, softly snoring in peace, save for a few twitches every now and then... All Chai was in his current dream was darkness. He had to check if his one eye was still there- which it was. Faint breathing was audible behind Chai, which the goat easily picked up with his sensitive ears. Turning around, he saw... himself? This mirror image of Chai seemed weaker. Fragile, pale, and starved to the bone. His double's one eye was completely whited out, while black tears streamed from his doppelganger's missing eye. Taking a few steps back, Chai barely had any time to react before his double whipped out his sword and flat-out stabbed the original goat through the chest. The knife met flesh, soft and pudgy, and made a squish as the tip of the blade sank deep enough to make Chai scream. The lifeless double twisted the blade in his hands, all the while sinking it deeper and deeper....
And that was when Chai woke up, still lying on the floor with wide eyes. He was sweating. Those vivid images still flashed in his head, and that terrible feeling of dread hung in his chest. Guardia was propped up against the wall in his sheath, fast asleep. Sitting up, Chai rubbed his eyes and looked down at his chest, gripping the skin above his heart.... No. He couldn't worry right now. Worrying did nothing but bad, as Jax always said. Standing up, the goat figured he would get some fresh air to clear his mind. Walking outside, the goat sat down on the grass, closing his tired and baggy eyes and thinking of nothing. He wasn't at peace- just simply trying to dispel of his negative thoughts and feelings. The goat's ki was tired and troubled, but determined as all hell. He was going to save everyone, somehow, someway. He didn't even notice the faint sound of someone approaching in his meditation...

Tekuma was sleepy. The cyborg sat meditating in the chilling wind howling around them, albeit a disturbance in the wind's flow would result in her being alerted to the Zoanthrope's presence. Turning her head towards Chai, her scanners activated and began to read the base, checking her facial recognition banks and those of the BBA. This male goat wasn't in the database, immediately causing alarm bells to shoot up in her cybernetics. Who the hell was this creature?
Creeping a bit closer, she tried to hover and prevent footsteps from sounding upon the ground. Not too far away, she'd crouch behind a rock and begin to input data mentally on the goat. "..." She was focused on doing so, trying to figure out his age from the distance between them. It was about two arms lengths away from the being. She kept on guard, cybernetics beginning to faintly whir.

WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR GOAT
Chai's ears twitched as the zoan's ever so sensitive ears picked up the faint sound of leaves crunching and the whirr of mechanical parts clicking together. His single eye snapping open, the universal warrior stood up tall, dwarfing his new visitor with his height of seven feet. Chai quickly flicked on his sixth sense, trying to sense where this approaching thing was. It could have simply been a passing animal, but the ever so cautious Chai in his natural habitat would not take a chance. Lifting his head and looking around, Chai couldn't pinpoint where this person was, either. Looking back into his cave, Chai spotted Guardia's sheath. His sword could help! Dashing back into his cave and out of sight of the mystery person, Chai skidded over to his partner. "Pssst. Guardia!" Chai's voice was a hushed, yet frantic whisper. The sheath shook a little before the sword slid out halfway, his single eye tired with a bag under it. 'Kais, Chai... The sun ain't even up yet... What do you want?' Only Chai could hear Guardia's voice, but the goat spoke once more to the telepathic demon in a sword in the same rushed and urgent whisper. "Someone's close! We're being watched!"
Guardia's eye opened a little more before he slipped back into his sheath as Chai plucked the sword's container off of the ground, hooking it onto the side of his belt. Guardia peeked out a little, speaking once more to Chai alone. 'Alright. Let's make this quick. I don't like being watched in my sleep!' Trotting back out of the cave with his guard raised, Chai pulled the shining sword of Ki out of his sheath, watching as the rainbow blade lit up their surroundings. Both the sword and the goat could feel something watching them. Giving his sword a quick nod, Chai lowered the blade as Guardia's telepathic voice echoed around, aiming to contact whatever was nearby. Audible to Tekuma now, a disembodied voice would echo in her mind. 'Stranger! Wherever or whatever you are, I'll have you know my partner and I don't like being watched in our sleep!!'

Tekuma watched as Chai ran into the nearby cave, talking to someone who she could sense. It made her nervous as all hell, but a alarm went off in the back of her head when she'd seen the goat. Something about him set off a huge magic reading in her databases, picked up by her natural magic-sensing ability. A long scar over her right eye was visible as she peeked her head back up from where she hid and put her hands up.
Moving so she was in their full view, her right eye was closed and the long gash over it was clearly visible. "I must reassure you, I mean no harm." The blade set off a magic reading as well, which made her curious and wanting to know more. Her appearance was that of a teenager, with the visible scar and her right arm gleaming with a metallic look to it. Her left eye had a clearly metallic gleam, along with her left leg.
If it wasn't clear by the facts she had no ki and had robotic parts, this girl had likely died and been revived. A blue star gleamed upon her shoulder, the sign of the BBA clear as day on the android girl. "I didn't mean to upset you. My sincerest apologies. Though, I must ask, why do you have magic artifacts with you?"

WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR GOAT
Chai didn't slip out of his offensive stance with Guardia in his paws, although the goat cocked his head to the side when a young teen with robotic parts emerged, her hands up. Wow. It looked like she had gone through something that was about one-eighth of what Chai went through back in Universe Five, and that was being generous! Guardia rolled his eye upon looking at the scarred girl from head to toe. Someone covered in scars, just like his own edgelord wielder. Chai lowered his sword, but still kept Guardia in his grip. Reassuring Chai and his partner that she meant no harm, Chai narrowed his eyes for a moment, looking for a hint of dishonesty in the girl, but simply couldn't find any. Closing his single eye, the goat let go of Guardia, who quickly flew right up and hovered near Chai's side, keeping himself afloat with his telekinesis. Chai couldn't sense her ki, and judging by those robo parts, he figured she was an android or a cyborg. Stating that she didn't mean to upset them, the goat only tilted his head and spoke in confusion when she brought up the artifacts Chai hung on to. "Magical artifacts? Oh, are you talking about my partner?"
Guardia's eye twitched a little in response to being called a magical artifact, the old and snarky blade being easily annoyed as ever. 'Oi! I am not an "artifact!" I'm just as sentient as you and this bloke over here!' Sighing telepathically, the blade flaoted over to Tekuma, orbiting her and looking at the girl from head to toe. His solid gold hilt glimmered in the moonlight, ki and magic radiating from his form. 'As a demonic spirit confined in this sword, I need to use my magical abilities to simply stay alive. How do you think one can live without lungs or a heart?' Before Tekuma had a chance to respond, Guardia lolled over, doing a little flip in the air and speaking to the girl and Chai once more with his brain mail. 'That's right, mmmmmagic.'
Shaking his hilt like a head, the sword began to conclude his little rant. 'But whatever. Looks like you've gone through some shit as well. Take my advice on this- if you die, don't leave the Otherworlds without a body!!' Sighing and looking quite glum for a moment, the sword flexed around his hilt's crossguards as if they were tiny arms. '...I miss my limbs.' Walking over, Chai gave the magic sword a little pat on the back of his hilt. "There there, Guardia."

Tekuma looked at Chai as he spoke about his partner, and the sword had rolled.. IT'S EYE AT HER?! What the fuck! Why is that sword sentient, the fuck is going on?! The surprised expression on the girl's face as her bangs covered her right side of her face; shielding the now open eye which looked normal, but had a metallic gleam. The one eye visible to Chai and Guardia was merely an artificial eye, with no details or color to it. It glowed a plain baby blue, and even her organic arm looked a bit scratched up.
It was revealed through the weird brain mail that Guardia was a spirit in a sword, talking about magic in a sarcastic tone and doing a little flip. The sword suddenly got sad, to which her robotic eye softened due to facial expression. "I almost went to the afterlife myself.. I work for the Blue Banner. They rebuilt my body's missing parts. I went into space where I met a woman, who proceeded to nearly kill me. If it hadn't been for my superior stopping her, I would have died. I lost my right eye that day, and they gave me a new one but after that I got sick with a bug that nearly killed me."
Scratching her head, she sighed. "My parents were killed by this guy's fire monster. I don't have living relatives and the people I loved are dead." Looking down, she raised her metallic limb in front of her and clenched that fist. "I was rebuilt when I first died thanks to my association with the Blue Banner. The name is Tekuma Mayakon, KAOS member and Science Corps officer." She'd offer a bow, being formal but looking like she was fourteen instead of seventeen, minus her scars and metallic limbs.

WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR GOAT
Guardia chuckled at Tekuma's surprise to his mere existance, floating into her personal space for a moment before backing off. It reminded him of how Chai first reacted when the goat and sword first met. 'What? Never seen a talking sword before?' Tekuma then went on about some "Blue Banner" thing she worked for, and how it rebuilt her body's missing limbs and organs. Guardia tilted his form somewhat, sounding quite confused while Chai closed his single eye and put a hand on his chin, trying to pinpoint when he heard the phrase "blue banner." It sounded so familiar... 'The fuck is a Blue Banner? Is it a banner that's blue? How can a banner do something like that to a person?' Pausing and closing his eye for a moment after Tekuma concluded her sentence about a lady nearly killing her and being saved by her superior, some kind of bug nearly killing her- to which Guardia wondered how an insect could kill a person- but the rather ignorant blade quickly lit up, disregarding everything except for that statement about Blue Banner. 'Oh. My. Stars!! Is there another demon like me that's possessing a kai-damned banner or something?!' Guardia telepathically stifled a laugh, moving one of his crossguards to wipe a tear from his eye. Chai looked over to Guardia, speaking in a rather concerned and questioning tone. It was clear both of these two had no idea about this Earth's central defense force!
"Guardia, I really doubt that--"
'Hah! And here I was thinking that I was unlucky with this sword!'When Tekuma brought up her missing eye, which was replaced with a robotic one, Chai raised a hand and pointed to his right eyesocket, which absent of any eye. Just a few fleshy strands of skin hung in the socket where an eye once sat. "Well, welcome to the one-eyed club." Guardia orbited around Chai, speaking in a blunt tone afterwards. 'We have nothing. Because it was all taken from us.' Chai raised his paw while Guardia gave his friend a quick high-five with his crossguard, both of the fighters applauding their own dark and foreshadowing humor.
And then Tekuma went on about some fire monster killing her family, and being the last member of her bloodline. Guardia would float over once more, speaking in a blunt tone with his eye halfway closed. 'That's great and all, but I do not recall asking for your life story.' Leaning back and closing his eye, the sword spoke in a tired yet demanding tone, floating back to Chai's side. 'Next time, keep it twenty words or less! You lost me halfway through.' Chai eyed the sword, briefly giving him a quick flick to the back of his hilt, reminding the sword to use his manners. "Guardia, don't be rude."
When Tekuma introduced herself, Guardia tilted his hilt when she brought up this "blue banner" thing once more. Shaking his hilt like a head, the sword spoke in an entertained tone. 'Seriously, where is this "Blue Banner" fellow? I'd like to meet them!' Meanwhile, Chai had gone back into deep thought, trying to pinpoint where he had heard of this "Blue Banner" thing... "Hmmmm... Why does that sound so..." Chai was going to say "familiar", but the goat cut himself off. Once again his sword partner had another inquiry, floating over to Tekuma when she spoke of this "KAOS" and some "Science Corps" thing. Guardia eyed her when she bowed, and was simply too proud to return the bow. Chai was still deep in thought, eye closed tight.... 'And what's a Kaiyyy--ohs? Kayos. Kaos. That sounds like some off-brand cereal name.' Guardia spoke telepathically once more, unknowingly making him and Chai even more suspicious. The great magical signal from the broken universe-hopper in the capsule concealed in Chai's bag still radiated with power, unknown to the goat and sword duo. Shaking his head briefly, Guardia introduced himself and his partner at long last, floating a wee bit closer to Tekuma. 'I'm Guardia. And this lad over here is my partner, Chai.'

Tekuma looked at Guardia as he/she spoke rather rudely about asking for her life story, causing the blue banner cyborg's eye to twitch slightly before she calmed back down. He went on a tangent about something dealing with possession and was rather annoying in general. "It's not a fellow.. It's a group of people dedicated to fighting to protect the Earth and researching more about the planets around us."
The sword floated a bit closer, much to her discomfort as with each inch Guardia moved closer, the harder it set off her magic sensor. "Gnnn.. sometimes I wish I couldn't sense magic." Snapping her fingers, a small pill bottle with her name on it would appear and she'd take two of the painkillers for her headache, before popping it back to where it was on her desk in the bunker down in West City.
She scratched the back of her head and looked at them, smiling slightly. "Pleasure to meet you both, regardless. Would you mind coming with me to the Northern Branch of the Blue Banner Army to be registered in our databanks for future reference?"

WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR GOAT
Chai eyed Tekuma curiously, glancing between her and Guardia. Needless to say, the android didn't seem to be entierly fond of Guardia. While some found the blade's incessant rambling and no-shit attitude annoying, Chai found charm in Guardia's flaws. The sword still floated a little too close to Tekuma, blinking a few times with a disappointed expression when she clarified what Blue Banner really was. 'Oh... Boooooring.~' The blade rolled back, flying back over to Chai's side. The goat was still in deep thought- trying to remember where he had heard that name before. "A defense force?" Chai questioned, opening his single eye halfway and glancing off to the side. He knew that name from somewhere... But the goat couldn't pinpoint it for the life of him! Sighing and dropping his train of thought for now, the goat heard Tekuma mumble about sensing magic or something, causing him to tilt his head. Chai reached a hand into his parcel, setting the small capsule that contained the broken universe-hopper in his bag. They used a lot of magical elements when creating it- there was no doubt now that the mythical machine would cause her sensors to go nuts!
Tekuma scratched the back of her head, seemingly curious about the ever so suspicious duo. Chai narrowed his head before recoiling back in shock a little with a widened eye when the female requested for them to follow her to go to what he presumed to be the Blue Banner headquarters to register himself or something. Gritting his teeth and looking away in apprehension, the goat could only imagine the inconsistencies if he gave Tekuma his information... Heck, even his date of birth wouldn't match up to his age in this past world. Closing his eyes and sucking in his breath while Guardia glanced up to Chai with a look of concern, the goat shook his head and spoke in a rather glum, but decided tone. "...I'm afraid I simply can't. Some things are better left in the dark, Tekuma. The less people know about me and my partner, the better." Guardia sighed telepathically in relief, nodding and looking between the two earthlings. 'I concur! We had a super close call awhile back.' Guardia spoke with a roll of his eye. If it weren't for Chai's endurance, determination, and quick decision making, Bing would be here instead of them! That would have been catastrophic! "And I can't tell you, either. I know this all seems extremely cryptic and suspicious, but I can't afford to tell anyone too much." Chai spoke to Tekuma, avoiding eye contact with the cyborg. Cryptic and mysterious as ever due to his unease to tell anyone anything, Chai let out a sigh as he looked up to the stars above. "We'd-- no... This entire universe would be put in extreme danger if the wrong people knew about the wrong things." And that nearly happened. One way or another, information had leaked out to the Special Forces in Universe five about the magical universe-hopping machine the Rebellion was in possession of. They attacked, people died, but they endured. They were still here. Closing his eye, the goat spoke once more. "Heh. And to believe this world, and many others would have fallen because of my idiotic actions."
'Chai, no.'
Guardia spoke in his usual annoyed tune, narrowing his eye, just to make sure his partner didn't snap. Chai wasn't the best at keeping secrets, and he had been bottling up a lot ever since they arrived here. It was hard on both of them, but they couldn't break. Not now. Chai nodded to his partner, now finally making eye contact with Tekuma and speaking in a solemn, resolute tone. "Catastrophe nearly struck before because of people knowing things they shouldn't. I cannot afford to endanger this world with my own knowledge." Guardia flew around Chai, recalling the events that transpired about a month ago. Floating and bouncing around in the air, the blade spoke in a quick tone with a little jingle at the end. 'Lady, you wouldn't believe us if we told you! It was the craziest of crazies! There was blood, death, argument, brutal murder, found, epic chase, fleeing the scene, hiding in a dumpster, coming here, and crashing in this cave because technically we're homeless!~'

Tekuma looked at Chai as he declined, at least it was polite unlike his partner. She wanted so bad to just fry the hell out of Guardia for the sword's attitude, but restrained herself to remaining calm. The goat was acting cryptic and weird, but the cyborg was beginning to piece together exactly what was happening. It was an insane, wild idea, but there was some possibility it could happen.
"Hey. I know a lot of things I shouldn't, including stuff that if I got my hands on it could make me immortal for all I cared." She was talking about the dragon balls, yet being vague enough to not hint at them. "Course, being an android I technically am. Well, at least the cyber parts of me are." Guardia rambled about whatever the hell was happening with them, which made the last pieces fall into place.
"You're from an alternate reality, aren't you."

WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR GOAT
Chai's head recoiled back, his face turning blue when Tekuma broke the ice and asked if the duo was from an alternate reality. Chai grit his teeth and scratched the back of his head, speaking in a shaky and meek tone. "Uh... Well, you see, we... We kind of, erm-" Chai gesticulated, but no words could come out of his mouth now. Guardia's eye twitched a little before his lower eyelid curled up, a telepathic snort echoing in the minds of the two fighters. 'PfFHHFffFFtttt...' Guardia held back laughter. He lied before about their origins, and he could do it again, easy peasy! Curling back with a hearty laugh, the blade spoke in a jovial, amused, and downright disrespectful tone while Chai looked on in confusion, before nodding and straightening his expression to determination. Guardia was doing a thing again! He had to just play along for now. 'HA! You really think those exist?! Oh, that's just GRAND! Hahahaha! I-I can't breathe!' Guardia curled back, falling onto the ground and resuming his laughing fit. Tears had formed in the corners of his eye, but the blade managed to curl up, looking at Chai with an amused expression. 'Did you hear that, Chai?! Alternate universes! I'm fucking WEAK!' Chai nodded, forcing an amused smile. "Yeah! Ha ha..." The goat's voice trailed off for a moment before Guardia floated back up, catching his breath despite a lack of lungs.
'Okay, fine, we'll tell you what happened. You've given me a good laugh, and I kind of like you! But you can't tell anyone else. Capiche?!' Should Guardia get some kind of confirmation that Tekuma wouldn't tell another soul, Guardia cleared his nonexistant throat, straightening his posture and closing his eye, beginning a long tale that was a complete lie. 'Me and my partner have come here from another galaxy, you goof! We set off years and years ago from the Earth to travel the galaxy and see the sights, but would up in a completely different galactic system after awhile!' The sword landed on the ground, hopping around Tekuma and eyeing her with an amused an condescending, half-closed eye. 'You see, we have made a machine. A machine that tears the fabric of reality itself to warp distances in the blink of an eye! Chai, get the thing, would you?' Guardia was basing his story off of their true tale, sure, but as long as this lady remained bliss to the multiverse beyond, they would be golden. Chai nodded, pulling a capsule out of his bag and tapping the button on top, throwing it off to the side. With a puff of smoke, a broken machine appeared. It was about twenty feet long from the hull to the tail, and the hood was completely absent. Sparks flew from it's exposed wiring and broken engine. 'And there she is. This is the Perdiem! What a beauty, am I right?' Guardia eyed the broken universe-hopper, then glanced to Tekuma. He passed it off as a warping machine before, and people believed him. The lying sword planned on doing it again. Chai piped up, looking at the broken machine that the Crimson Strikers had poured their hopes into. "It's broken now, sure. But we plan on gathering some of the materials to repair this baby up later."
Guardia nodded, resuming his tale. 'Mmm-hmm! While me and my partner were stopping at a distant star system, we found an ENTIRE galaxy that was taken over by a man with an insane power! If he got his hands on our machine, he could have come here and taken this galaxy over! And if he got these mystery thingies that supposedly make people immortal, than WHAM, game over!' Guardia spoke, drawing his crossguard over where his neck would be if he still had one. Rolling his eye, he once again floated uncomfortable close to Tekuma, looking at her dead in the eye with a smug and confident expression. 'I'm having a hard time believing that puny mortals like you can be immortal. What, is there a genie that grants wishes or something in this galaxy?' Guardia lolled back, now putting some distance between the two of them. Chai cleared his throat, aiming to finally add onto Guardia's lie to reduce any remaining suspicion. "Still, do you really think alternate realities exist? That's kind of crazy, in my personal opinion. If they did exist, with the technology we have now, I'm preeeetttty sure we would have found out by now." Guardia rolled his eye, doing another sarcastic flip in the air. 'You're crazy, lady.'

OH DEAR LORD I FORGOT ABOUT THIS D: )
The goat began to noticeably stutter, trying to explain things when, of course, the sword butted in. It got on her nerves slightly, the demon yelling in her head and aggravating her minor headache. If Guardia could tell through telepathic connection, she had human and demonic DNA circling in her still organic parts. If her horns, tail, and pale skin weren't enough of a tip-off, that definitely would be.
Taking a few minutes to calm down, she stared when her magic sensors went off seeing the broken machine, ears twitching in excitement. "This is cool! How'd you get your hands on this magic object? Parts, psssh. I can make things out of midair!" Grinning slightly, she chuckled. "Yknow, I can tell that your companion is nervous, blade. If anything I believe alternate realities more now."
The cyborg was clever, and she materialized a sword for effect before making it vanish. "Ta-Da~" She replied with a slight grin, the cyborg scratching her ear lazily. "So now, you can tell me the actual truth, or we can see how long it is until I get the truth out of you.~"
