I KNOW WHAT RUNS THROUGH YOUR BLOOD He didn’t fight her as they’d move through the city. Twisting through people with silence between them. Well... as silent as masses of people could get. Neither Durian nor Marcel spoke. People around them spoke, there was the whirring of machinery, the natural noise of the city, and the wind moving between the buildings. It was noisy, but not between them. Getting to her intended destination, one that was definitely still within city limits but held a sort of peace. It was a different atmosphere. Away from things even though they were still in the center of madness. Durian probably started up a tad too roughly. She made the boy sit, but he would lower his head and apologize. A pain would grasp the female’s heart at the reaction. One she wasn’t unused to, but hurt all the same. It was pushed away regardless, a reminder of past things that couldn’t be undone. She ignored the apology, sitting beside him and relaxing onto the bench. She’d lean back against the seating, her shoulders almost touching the back as she’d slouch her body down. It would be different than seeing the taller and confident Kagami, this female who now slouched and hid her gloved hands in her pockets. The silence would linger between them. Her question having been asked and the man taking his time to answer. Durian.. didn’t know what he had gone through. She didn’t understand how he had almost killed someone. The Kagami most certainly didn’t understand the scale. Both of them were hiding a higher power than they actually were. Marcel was greater than she, but she had no way of realizing that in these moments between the two. All she knew was that the young man was confused. Maybe it was a slip between family or friends. Maybe he broke up a fight. She didn’t know the situation, but it seemed she was facing a lot of men who had an odd need for death. Durian wouldn’t move her gaze to look at him. She’d keep vague watch from her peripherals but mostly she wanted to keep pressure off of him. Her dull eyes upwards, tracing the patterns of leaves above and small specs of light that would stream through the greenery and branches. She didn’t smile, not at this point, but she was relaxed. His words would eventually hit her ears. What use was someone if they couldn’t protect the right people? That caused her to smirk. It was small and he might not even notice at first. But it was there. It wasn’t a joyous expression. It was one of twisted pain, agony, and disgust. How well she knew the frustrations of not being able to protect those she desperately wished to. Sighing deeply through her nose, hearing his next question to try and divert the conversation to her, she’d simply close her eyes and sink further into the bench. The back of her head gently meeting the backboard as she almost seemed to melt where she sat. “Being unable to protect the right people doesn’t make you deserving of death. It makes you deserving of more work. If you’re not fit for your own wants, then make yourself fit. Dwelling on your shortcomings certainly won’t help you go forward.” She tried to speak slowly and carefully. It wasn’t something she had thought long and hard about. She failed, so she tried harder and came out with freedom. Now she was short of her goal to help her kind. She was working once again to come out with freedom. Opening her eyes in time, she’d turn her head a bit to the male and settle the dull grey upon him. Her smirk was gone by now, leaving her mostly blank expression and stare upon him. Studying him for a moment, she’d eventually crack another smirk. This one more lighthearted and accompanying a very light and quiet chuckle. It was short lived, but the sound wasn’t menacing in the least. Straightening up from her slumped position, she’d draw her hands from her pockets along with the salve she had bought. “I hadn’t planned to walk around the capital with goo all over my face. I was going to head back to my... mentor’s? ship. But if it would assist you in thinking you helped protect me, here.” Holding out her hand with the small container towards the shorter male, Durian would keep her eyes upon the lad. It was amusing, at least to her, that he kept bringing up her injury. “Who are the right people to you, Marcel?” Marcel Law ---------------------------- PL - 2,800 => 10 KP - 3/3 Techs Used = Energy Suppression [UT1] Durian are capable of suppressing your power in order to better hide herself from the gaze of those with Energy Sensing or those utilizing a Scouter, so long as she is not making use of powerful techniques(anything that would consume KP in a KP Battle) she can remain undetected by friends and foes alike! Durian was raising up some good points. Just like Hinawa, this woman claimed that Marcel needed to better himself instead of choosing the easy way out of this situation. The hybrid smiled a bit, but not because of the advice, but the fact that there were people, complete strangers even that rather see the man get better instead of dying. It reminded him how there were still decent people on this planet, reminded him why he decided to protect this planet he calls home in the first place. "You've...raised up some good points, Durian." he would nod. Then he would hear something from this woman that he'd honestly didn't expect he'd hear from her...a chuckle, but unlike her last one, this felt more comforting, soft, something Marcel would normally pull off. He'd look back at her then quickly shy his eyes away since close eye contact wasn't really his strong suit. After she had finished speaking, the hybrid shook his head a bit at her little comment of protecting her. "No, no. I wasn't saying you needed protection. It seems like you are already capab-" he turned his head to see her handing him that salve she bought earlier. Marcel looked at the container then to Durian then back at the salve before it finally clicked about what she wanted him to do. "Oh, sure." he nodded before grabbing the salve, looking down at it. He loved offering his assistance to others. One could quite compare this man to a waiter...or a butler even to some degree. Marcel twisted the top off of the container, and placed his fingers into the creamy salve. As he took it out, he was about to place the woman's face until he realized the mask covering part of her face. "Oh um....May I?" he'd attempt to lower her mask like thing with his other hand after the placing the salve down. If she'd let him, Marcel would begin to softly rub the stuff against her burn marks. If not, he'd nod before trying to rub it against the exposed burn marks not covered. Marcel slowed down some after hearing Durian's question. "The right...people?" the hybrid repeated, looking down as his fingers continued to work. "Those who are innocent, people who also fight for what is right, people who I cherish...." he sad, dipping his fingers back into the container before rubbing it against another burned area. "I made a promise to myself, and my late stepfather that I would defend this planet, and its people from harm, even if it would cost me my own life..." Marcel claimed, another smile developing on his face before it formed into a smirk. Durian

I KNOW WHAT RUNS THROUGH YOUR BLOOD “Points mean very little if no action takes place. Your future and your mindset are yours to control.” There was confidence in her words, maybe a small bit of reprimanding but also encouragement. She didn’t want to him to drown in his sorrows over letting other people down. It seemed to her that it wasn’t about almost killing the man as much as him seeing himself as inferior. That he wasn’t strong enough to do as he wished. Like her. The difference was, she had left sadness in her inferiority back on Vegeta. She was on Earth to become stronger and she would do just that. Just because she was weak now didn’t mean she wouldn’t accomplish everything she wished. Durian’s calmer and more light hearted demeanor would grant her a young man looking away from her. She noticed, but wasn’t offended. The smirk upon the female’s lips didn’t die away. It was still faint, but it was present. Their close proximity near guaranteed he would be able to notice, even without knowing her that well. He tried to assure her that he hadn’t meant to protect her or imply she needed protection, but cut himself off when his eyes settled on the salve. He was either confused or considering her offer. His eyes darting between the medication and her own face. His response was a little strange, seeing as she didn’t really need him to apply it. She had even expressed that it wasn’t her intention to do so in the city. Yet, here it was almost like he thought she was asking or commanding him to. Either way, she wasn’t too concerned. If it helped ease his heart, at least her face would heal faster. He took the salve from her hand, to which she brought her hand back to her lap. The Kagami would stay turned to him. It would be a bit more difficult if she turned away for him to help her with the burn salve, now wouldn’t it? He would pause, asking for her permission for something. Raising an eyebrow in questioning, she’d note the other hand coming from her mask. Ah. Maybe the smirk wasn’t as obvious as she had thought, she tended to forget her attire from time to time. “As you wish.” She’s speak clearly, unconcerned with him removing her mask. If she had fear for his alliance with Saiyans, she would have left him alone long before. Him moving her mask down wouldn’t be overly revealing of anything, it just hid her face from those who might immediately recognize her, however slim a chance that may be. It also had an added bonus of possibly making her look less feminine. Further distracting from the past Durian. The burns were most severe along her cheeks, just above the line where her mask was. She had been wearing it that day afterall. The freshest and most sensitive burns had already been displayed to Marcel. There were smaller ones, less pressing beneath the mask. But all could be attended now that he had stripped away the small cloth. His fingers would touch her face, the only separation being the salve he had on his fingers. The near gel medication would have the slightest chill to it, but when pressed against her sensitive skin she’d wince. Just barely, but there. Her eyes tightening as the contact was made with the marred flesh. Durian had spoken when his hand was away from her jawline, giving her freedom to shape her words. He’d reply soon after, his hands slowing its touch to her. He told her who he thought was his definition of ‘right people.’ It was.. interesting. But rarely was anyone innocent. She didn’t need to burst that bubble for him, he’d learn that eventually. As for what was right... Who decided that? Life wasn’t always good and evil. Did ends justify the means? Or was ‘right’ to him simply whatever side he happened to be on? The last one was cherishing... Whether that was wrong or not, Durian could side with him on that. She cherished her people. He’d recoat his fingers and then touch her skin again, brining one more small wince from the female. It wouldn’t cause her to stop him, not yet. Until he’d finish his explanation with more words that nearly contradicted what he spoke before. Once again, her eyebrow would raise. Curious. Reaching her hand up, she’d grasp for the wrist of his hand that had salve upon it. The one that had been helping to heal her face. “Then you should stop assisting me. As I’m a wrong people.” There was still a light tug to her lips, that similar smirk from earlier. She had a small enjoyment for his company, but also couldn’t stand how his words would contradict themselves and that he would stand by whatever he said with rock hard, unshakeable, foolishness. “I am not innocent. You don’t know that what I fight for is right. And I’m not cherished by you.” Loosening her grip upon his wrist if she had indeed succeeded in grasping it, she’d let him continue to help her or have his hand fall away. His choice. Still facing him, the salve making her skin somewhat shinier in the places he had applied as well as bringing out the distorted red of her normally pale skin, she’d speak again. “Make sure you know what you’re fighting for. You gave me two answers to who you’re going to protect. One answer were specific groups of living beings that revolved around your moral compass. The second answer was to protect this planet.”Holding back from another chuckle, the dull grey eyes of the Kagami would look over the smaller man before her. “You really have a lot to think on and straighten out, Marcel.” Marcel Law ---------------------------- PL - 2,800 => 10 KP - 3/3 Techs Used = Energy Suppression [UT1] Durian are capable of suppressing your power in order to better hide herself from the gaze of those with Energy Sensing or those utilizing a Scouter, so long as she is not making use of powerful techniques(anything that would consume KP in a KP Battle) she can remain undetected by friends and foes alike! Marcel would not only see the rest of the burns upon Durian's cheek as he lowered her mask, but her facial features would appear more...feminine than before. The hybrid was already aware of the woman's gender, but with that mask, and what she wore, it made her appear less feminine along with her slim figure. Not saying that she wasn't attractive, or anything as Marcel doesn't completely follow these labels when describing another. He noticed the woman flinch some while he applied the salve on her cheek causing the hybrid to slow down a bit. "Hold on, it'll be over soon." Marcel would try to reassure her similar to a parent, and child which he found kind of amusing since she did make him sit down like a child earlier... "Hm?" suddenly, a hand gripped Marcel's wrist, stopping him from rubbing the ointment. He looked down at Durian's hand then up to her with an eyebrow raised. She would then speak, actually raising up some good points. He wasn't sure how right the woman was about herself, but it did raise up the fact that he only just met her today, and knows absolutely nothing about her past. Marcel sat there in silence while Durian continued. Once she had stopped, Marcel still looked to her for a bit as she finally let go of him. He looked down to his hand then to the salve between them on the bench. "Well..." he'd pause before balling up a fist, trying to get his words together before actually speaking them. "Yes, I do need to straighten some things out...and I have a lot on my mind..." his fist loosened, eyes shifting to the side. "But in a way, both my answers are one in the same." he'd claim, inhaling then exhaling. "This planet may attract those less innocent, have scum living upon it...but it is not responsible for it therefore it's as innocent as the people I want to protect." Thinking a bit on what he had just said, Marcel couldn't help, but let a small snicker slip out at how stupid that must sound to Durian, but it was what he, and his stepfather saw, and he was going to stick by it. "As for you..." his eyes went back down to the salve. "You do have a point. I know absolutely nothing about you. Where you came from, what you are, what you are capable of....and your intentions." he scooped some more salve onto his fingers, raising them up some to look at. "But you know very little about me as well. What I have been saying to you could be nothing more then a mere lie...but you still put up with me following you, and even tried to help me with my issues." a small smile appeared on his face as he looked up to Durian before leaning over to rub her other cheek with the salve. "Even some of the people I cherish seem to fight for a....questionable cause." he claimed, frowning a bit, referring mainly to Shemha, Negi, and Capper who all serve under that Saiyan Empire that attacked Earth way back.... I KNOW WHAT RUNS THROUGH YOUR BLOOD Durian had taken each of his touches in stride. Even if she had winced, she hadn’t moved away from him. Merely a slight tightening of the lids that would cover her eyes and possibly tension in her face. She wouldn’t pull away, it would make the whole application of the medication all that harder. That light smile still lingering on her face, she wouldn’t reply or nod to the man, but she understood. He noticed her discomfort and was reassuring her. There was a lot of care to the male, even for her. It was interesting to say the very least. But she still had to point out the error of his words. Grasping his wrist and halting his movements, she’d stare right at him as she spoke. She wasn’t all that irritated, even if she did think he spoke foolishly. The man was amusing, but also innocent. At least in her eyes. It was possible he had experienced more than her, but he seemed so clean and pure... His worst regret that he expressed was almost doing something harmful. He didn’t answer her prodding right away, he left her in silence after she had almost comically berated what he cared about. But she wouldn’t leave him, not yet. There was still time to waste and stay away from that ship of odd fighters; Emer and Hinawa. While her attention was mostly on his face, Durian wasn’t so unaware that she missed his hand balling into a tight fist. A fleeting thought was to reach out to him, some softer instinct from years previous. Of course, the female didn’t. Her eyes flickered to the fist and then back to his face with little other action on her part. He’s continue speaking, and while his tension would somewhat fade, he’d avoid her eyes again. She shamed it? It seemed she had to take a few steps back to not harm this sensitive soul. But he wrapped it all up with a snicker. A little bit of joy at the end of it all? Durian didn’t register that it was a sort of self-deprecating sound. She... didn’t understand why it was done at all. Tilting her head ever so slightly, she’d keep her eyes on him and try to sort through why he had laughed in the first place. Durian wouldn’t reply quite yet, him moving onto her own statements about herself. He acknowledged he knew nothing about her, but then reminded her that she knew little of him as well. When he’d bring his fingers to touch her cheek, gently applying more of the salve to assist her skin’s healing, the woman would reply with her own reminder. “I’m not struggling with not being able to protect those within a certain group. You’re not threatening my existence or my kind and you’re helping me. There’s no reason to grant you anything less than I have.” He spoke again. A frown on his face as he did so. “So you have a hierarchy.” She spoke. Her smile had been fading away. Not from displeasure, but just to a more balanced look. Their conversation had continued and she found no reason to be gleeful. It seemed he treasured those he cared for, but would never sacrifice the Earth. He had an order of what was important to him, all of the important ‘groups’ didn’t have to merge for them to be worth saving in his mind. “If you’re up for it, maybe someday I’ll help you get better at whatever you need to. I have a little more than what meets the eye. It could potentially help us both.” Little did the woman know that Marcel held greater power and ability than her. His power easily dwarfed hers, just like Hinawa’s and Emer’s had. Still. It seemed she had found there was no harm and in gaining help from others. Even in the short amount of time she spent with Emer and Hinawa, she felt herself gain power and ability. She could only grow from that. "There is also no reason for you to to try, and help me." Marcel claimed as he continued to rub the salve against Durian's cheek with a small smirk. Perhaps he was wrong, and only thinking about her helping him, but the hybrid did feel some good within this hardy woman. When he thought about it, Durian did remind him of this one Heran woman he came across named Jihana. Hell, Durian even seems a bit more tame compared to her, and she also ended up taking a liking to Marcel somewhat! Again, he dipped his fingers into the salve, pausing a bit at her hierarchy comment. As her smile faded, Marcel's smirk did the same turning into a bit of a frown. In a way, it did seem like he had one which was kind of upsetting. The idea of placing others over another wasn't really the hybrid's cup of tea, but unfortunately he did it along with many others. Though it could be questioned that his isn't all that bad since he is pretty much just placing the 'good' over the 'bad.' Then there came her offer. Just like Hinawa, Durian claimed that she would help the poor man with his problems. A small smile appeared on his face as he twirled his fingers around in the creamy salve, not really realizing it. "I certainly don't doubt you do." he commented on her more than meets the eyes comment. "I would love the help, especially if it means that I'll be helping in return." he claimed, his fingers deeper inside of the container which again he didn't realize. "I pretty much owe you after all." he said. There were many people Marcel felt like he owes, the main one being Shemha which he still has yet to repay.... Durian

I KNOW WHAT RUNS THROUGH YOUR BLOOD “I’ve struggled too.” The Kagami spoke easily, she might have even smiled if she had put the effort into it, yet there was no smile. It was like that was an answer for why she should help him. To a certain extent, it was her answer. She found no threat in him and he was suffering, so why not help when there was nothing telling her not to? She could argue with herself and say staying neutral would have been the best route. Not demean him nor help, just leave him be. And that quite possibly was better. But... if she had found someone on this planet to offer her a hand when she first came here, how much better off might she be? Emer had offered her a hand as well as Hinawa. It was years delayed, but she could still use it. Maybe there was something to passing on assistance. Marcel was certainly offering.. the man’s hands returning to her skin and painting it with the salve she had bought. The female would catch his shift in demeanor. While her smirk leaving was merely a resting of her face, his would transition into a full front frown. Not large or overwhelming, but most certainly a change in the opposite direction. This time she would reach out to him. There was hesitation, the woman uncomfortable in her senses and responses to do so. But... if she had decided that passing on assistance was helpful, she should try more definitively right? Placing a hand over the one that he didn’t have digging into the goo of healing, she’d give the man’s hand a light squeeze. “It wasn’t an insult. It makes sense. And is healthy to know where your loyalties will lie when tested.” A soft and encouraging smile would tease at her lips, not overly obvious due to her uncertainty in her own actions. “The best sort of growing is to grow together, I’d imagine.” She spoke with a small nod, further encouraging the idea of them training and helping the other. She wasn’t used to the thought, of having someone else help her. But it had worked wonders in merely a day. Drawing her hand back off of his and back to her own self, she’d hear his last comment. Giving him a quizzical look, the dull-eyed Kagami would try to figure out what he had meant. Owe her? Had he done something she had missed? Taking a short moment to recall what she had on her, then letting her eyes traveling over the man’s form in front of her, she attempted to find any sign that he had taken something from her Having examined him quickly, she’d draw her gaze back to his face. She still didn’t know what he meant. “Why would you owe me?” Marcel Law ---------------------------- PL - 2,800 => 10 KP - 3/3 Techs Used = Energy Suppression [UT1] Durian are capable of suppressing your power in order to better hide herself from the gaze of those with Energy Sensing or those utilizing a Scouter, so long as she is not making use of powerful techniques(anything that would consume KP in a KP Battle) she can remain undetected by friends and foes alike! Still a bit upset from Durian's comment about him having a hierarchy, Marcel continued to rub the salve on the woman's face with a small frown. That is until he felt something soft, and warm squeeze his other hand. With now a confused expression on his face, Marcel looked down to see what it was that was touching him while listening to the woman. His eyes widened once he saw the hand on top of his own. He stared down at it while his cheeks yet again turned crimson like his eyes. Where did this come from all of a sudden!? Not knowing how to handle situations like this, Marcel simply froze there until she finally let go, his eyes slowly going back up to Durian's as his cheeks lost color. "Y-yeah. That makes...sense. Th-thank...thank you." he'd hesitantly lean his upper body forward to do a small bow. When it came to pretty much any woman no matter what they stood for, he...just didn't know how to deal with one in situations like this. What she would say next definitely wouldn't help his problem. Marcel knew what she was talking about, but still 'grow together' could also mean other things....things that would simply fluster up the poor hybrid even more. "R-right, yeah." he'd nervously rub the side of his own face with the hand he used to apply the salve on Durian, getting some on himself without knowing. "Together...we...we will....yeah." he chuckled a bit, nervously. Soon would come a very familiar question, why does he owe her? It seems to have been a recurring thing, Marcel owing someone only for said person to ask why, or say something along the lines of 'It's fine, don't worry about.' Still, Marcel believes that he owes those people no matter what they say, and now Durian has become one of those people. "Well, you did take time out of your day to help a complete stranger." Marcel joked some with a nod. "It would only make sense that I do, Durian." Durian

I KNOW WHAT RUNS THROUGH YOUR BLOOD The Kagami had not anticipated that reaction. Nervousness and surprise at the mere touch of her hand to his. His face turned red and his gaze went immediately to it. It seemed her attempt to comfort and assist had only brought more issues. He was now flustered and maybe a bit shaken. Exhaling slowly through her nose as a silent form of a sigh, she’d resign to the thought that maybe she wasn’t ready yet to assist people as she thought. He remained as a statue until she released her hand from him, which she did in much shorter time than she might have intended at first. The mere loss of contact helped his color but not so much his speech. Durian wasn’t offended in the least. It had been meant to help him, not her. If it didn’t assist then she should probably feel sorry she made things worse for him. She didn’t, but maybe she should. The stuttering and nervousness she created made her feel somewhat out of place, not all together awkward but unsure on how to handle a stuttering and nervous young man. When one is enslaved by a group of monkeys that do as they wish when they wish, one doesn’t tend to find a lot of stuttering and hesitation. It grew worse. When she spoke, he would gain a whole new urge of uncomfortability. The female’s shoulders dropping a bit, she wasn’t quite sure why she felt disappointed. She had never really cared to help someone out on Earth before, maybe it was the disappointment in the failure. She reduced him to a crumbling mess. So much so that he spread the salve upon his own face. Reaching out with both of her hands, she’d pick up the container and secure the lid back onto it before placing it back down. Hands moving to the black cloth of her mask, she’d stretch it up in front of her face and gently place it tightly to her skin. It would rest as it normally did, though lightly seep salve into it from the connection to her flesh. Reaching once again for the small container she had bought, the tall female would bring herself to her feet. Looking ahead as if deciding where she might go next, then looking down to Marcel. “You already did as well. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you applied the medication to my injuries.” Giving a nod to him, Durian wasn’t one to bow. Never again. “Besides. I hardly think bringing you to a stuttering and uncomfortable mess qualifies as helping.” Bringing her hands to the pockets in her slacks, she’d take a few steps to start down the trail of the small park in the city. Stopping a moment, she’d turn her head over her shoulder to take another look at the young man and smile a bit to herself. “We’re even. Let’s not owe one another. If you want to grow together, find me.” A different approach in her mind. Last time she forced her hand upon his and got him into a mess. So, if she offered herself instead of forcing it upon him, he might take it better. Or leave it. Also an option that she could understand. Saying her piece, she would turn again to start down the path and head back into the thralls of the city. Marcel shook his head some at the woman's first comment, looking up to her as she got back to her feet. "Sure, but...that fails in comparison to how you helped me." the demonic hybrid claimed. He believed that he needed to do more in exchange. Simply applying ointment to an injury didn't feel like enough to him compared to having his spirits lifted some by her. "No...no that wasn't your fault. I am just not that good in...these situations..." he claimed, hoping that Durian understood what he meant. He didn't want to outright say he was nervous around women! The tall woman might already think little of this man...no pun intended. Telling her the truth would probably make it worse.
The hybrid would watch Durian start to walk, a small frown developing on his face before looking down. It appeared he scared her off which he honestly couldn't blame her given that awkward display he showed back there. But then he heard her voice once more, prompting him to look up. Though he couldn't see her smile, Durian's very words brought a smile back to Marcel's face. She was still interested in training alongside with him, and he was determined to help her out. She may say they are even, but he still didn't believe they were. Just like Shemha, he'll find a way to truly pay her back, but for now Marcel gave Durian a silent nod as he will take her up on her offer. While she turned back around, and continued to walk off, Marcel did the same, getting back to his feet, and going the opposite way.
Then that's when he finally felt it on the side of his face....The salve. Raising a hand up to the side of his face, he touched the salve with an eyebrow raised before moving the hand to the front of his face to obverse it, eyes widening in the process.
"W-was this on my face...the entire time?" he'd silently say to himself....
