Morning came with a thunderous boom, waking Pieter from his slumber. He looked outside, seeing rain licking the landscape. He sighed, before standing and making his way to the edge of the cave. As he did, another crash of thunder shook, as lightning crashed near by! He stopped at the entrance, putting a hand on the cave entrance. Nature was showing the hunter that something was coming... Something dangerous. Perhaps a forest fire or a beaver's dam flooding and the river reaching into his cave? He couldn't take flight in this weather. He'd just be one big target for the lightning to ark to!
"The Great Serpent seems to be preparing something for you, brother."
The voice caught the hunter off guard, searching around himself for that familiar voice. This was the voice of his eldest sibling, Waputhi Talon! Did he catch wind of what happened and search for him? The hunter tracked the voice to coming from the Forest to his left. His giant of a brother had been standing in the rain, arms down and fists tight. His upper body was covered in blue, almost vein-like marks. This was his tribe's form of wisdom: The significance of a brilliant mind. However, on his face, 12 red claw-like tattoos existed as well. Half were not there before, especially on his forehead.
"Waputhi! What are you doing out here," Pieter inquired, "How'd you find me?"
"How else do we find beasts? We trace their ruined paths," Waputhi explained, walking over to his brother. Compared to Waputhi, Pieter looked like he was a civilized man! Waputhi had very long and wild hair that was unkempt, while Pieter had his in a long ponytail. In size comparison, Waputhi stood at least a foot above his tall brother and looked like one of those overly muscular body builders. Muscles were overly defined, one could say about Waputhi's build. Broad shoulders and a bone tooth necklace adorned this half-breed's neck.
Waputhi looked down and put his large hands on Pieter's shoulders, as he told him, "You've made quite a ruckus brother... First, that damage in Ginger Town, then in that... 'Tournament,' those people were hosting. The tribe, including our parents and sister, have been tad troubled about it, except father. Father's been saying if we were in the Saiyan empire's-"
"Waputhi, you're doing it again," Pieter interrupted.
"Ah... My apologies. However, you understand what I am implying?"
"Yes... But, brother. What are you doing all the way out here," Pieter asked.
Waputhi removed his hands from his shoulders, as he nudged Pieter's head with a giant finger, "You've lost the feathers and head band brother... Was it at the tournament?"
"Yes, but what?! What are you here for," Pieter asked again, sounding a bit harsh that time around. Waputhi removed his finger and pointing into the forest.
He told Pieter, with no hesitation in his voice, "You've become prey of people who do not understand, brother. They are not far now and move quick. I am here to give you a lesson of spirit tracking your hunters."
"Wait, why now? Shouldn't I make my w-"
"You will not receive another chance," Waputhi interrupted, "They come from Ginger Town, seeking reparation for your unintentional destruction. They requested one of us to track you down... You must come back to the village one day, to redeem yourself."
Pieter was quiet. The statement rounded up the true feelings of everyone in the village, except for his family... He was a monster to even them, his half-saiyan tribe! Waputhi gave it a moment for the thought to sink in. His brother was stingie, impatient, and strong, but he knew he wasn't stupid. Waputhi wanted him to listen, so that he wouldn't be alienated by the people he grew up with.
"I will explain it as best I can, but it is only up to you, Pieter. Explaining it will be much like explaining sight to the blind or sound to the deaf. When you can no longer feel; when you can no longer taste, feel, smell, and see, you will need to rely on this trait... The Great Serpent's sense."
Pieter nodded, as lighting and thunder blasted around the mountains. Waputhi explained, riddling, "The Great Serpent knows where and when things will happen. It is able to trace power and might... It's how you'll be traced. It is how you must fight these other enemies. These hunters can not trace the Spirit path we travel along. You will come to know how this works when it is time and you must use this. Otherwise, disaster, much like before in the South, will happen once again. You can not avert this any longer. Now, you must go! They approach!"
Pieter sped off Northward, Waputhi heading towards the South in a flash. The sounds of heavy footsteps echoed in the forest, headed northbound.
