Thread PL: 13,534 Polara's ship the Navy Blue touched down on the ground, a deep blue against the soft green of the fields. She steered clear of hitting any farmland, and rather settled on the grasslands. As would have it, the black and blue Arcosian departed her ship, locking it and flying up to scan her surroundings. Her ki was at max output, hoping to attract some attention as to find out who or what wished to join the empire. Of course, the woman was on a mission and was nervous about the peace in the galaxy as of now. She didn't trust the filthy monkeys to stay quiet for too much longer, and was worried about what could happen. If any Saiyans wanted to join; she wouldn't exactly say no but they'd have to provide a highly good reason to come to an Arcosian Empire general and request to join along with being good in terms of skillset in battle and level headedness. She had a very low tolerance for stupidity, such as Verst for an example. Hopefully not planning on meeting any idiots or really stupid people, the feminine biped waited patiently for an arrival to begin the recruitment. Mainly she was looking around to see if there would also be any Arcosian Empire members as of the moment that would come to find her. Rafar (You mentioned you wanted to join- here's a tag. )

Rafar had been practicing his afterimage technique for just under an hour now. He had been working on restoring his spacepod's memory banks in his spare time, and had found numerous references to the technique. So, lacking anything better to do, he had been practicing for days. He hadn't quite worked out all the kinks yet, and crashed into the ground more times than he succeeded.
Rising from his latest attempt, he spied a large blue ship settling down in the grasses of the wasteland. From Rafar's curious glance, he deduced the ship to be of Arocsian Imperial design. He had certainly seen plenty of examples of the styling during his tenure at the Sayian battle academies. In those days, propaganda about the war was basically an afternoon talk show.
He then spied a white and blue Arocsian rising from the ship's gangplank, her aura flaring. She didn't seem to have spotted her observer yet, and that was a good thing, since he had not decided what to do. On the one hand, introducing himself could get him killed, some Arocsians seemed to have a grudge against him, with one of their number nearly killing him in the Northern wastes. On the other hand, he really needed some allies, he had always been a follower.
"You know what? Screw it."
He floated down to eye level with the Arocsian, noting the buffeting force of her aura. Twirling his tail around his waist, he would decide politeness would be the best tone for a job interview
"Greetings and welcome to Earth, my names Rafar."

Polara immediately turned her gaze towards the Saiyan; body becoming rigid as she stared down the male before her. Instinct at the Saiyans being the reason her family was broken up made her advance slightly in his direction before stopping; deciding to bring the fight to Zucceta one day. She didn't trust this monkey as far as she could throw him; and she could throw him and not trust him anyway. Regardless, the general calmed herself and regained her composure once more, gazing at Rafar with cold cyan eyes. Why would a Saiyan, the reason and race Arcose fell and destroyed her family, want to come anywhere near her and not kill the scaled biped.
Some curiosity rung in her head, yet the woman stays silent as she continued to gaze at Rafar. This being was no threat unless he could become Oozaru; of which Polara was about ninety percent sure there wasn't a full moon. Either way; it was daytime and she thankfully didn't go wandering at night with all the apes on the full moon running rampant. "Greetings to you as well. I have been to this planet before; my name is Polara Thermia, general of Arcosian military. What do you want, or are you merely here to goggle at an Arcosian?"

This...Polara, seemed to have suppressed memories like Koldar had, stiffening at the sound of his voice, and demanding why he was there. Rafar outwardly appeared calm and relaxed, but inside he was tense as a bowstring. He didn't want to get into it with an Arocsian lord. They were reported to be extremely strong, and he didn't exactly feel ready to face one yet.
She then asked if he was here to goggle at her. Rafar almost laughed, he had seen plenty of Arocsians, there was nothing about her outward appearance that particularly surprised him. Inside though.... she seemed more... intense than the rest. She was obviously ready to kill, and Rafar definitely didn't want to die here.
He held his hands up, "Woah calm down lady, Im not here to attack you, or 'goggle' at you." He made air quotes with his fingers. "No, in fact quite the opposite, I would like to join the AE to get revenge on my old empire."
Rafar said this, knowing full well that the Arocisan wouldn't trust him, at least at first. He would just have to try and prove his sincerity the best he could.

Polara watched Rafar; and as the male got to the chase she couldn't help but chuckle. "Kid- you got right to the point. I like that. But understand, the military is a cold place, and who heard of a Saiyan in the empire? Last person that came to me got knocked out for a good while because they chickened out at the last second. What would stop a monkey like you from doing the same thing? If you want to be in the Empire, furball, You've got to prove three things to me. You have to be strong, fast, and smart. If you prove to be an idiot, once, we are done here. I have a low tolerance for stupidity."
The Arcosian female was right to the point- despite the fact Rafar had been faintly rude. Her tenseness around the Saiyan was clear; and the tenseness was causing her to be a bit harsher than average. "Alright kid, are you ready for the tests? If so- prove to me you are clever by getting me something that is valuable yet cast aside like trash. I give you no more hints, figure this out for yourself and return to me with the item." The clawed boots touched the roof of the ship as she descended; looking up at Rafar as she gestured the monkey to fetch what she had asked while the scaled biped sat cross-legged on the roof of the ship. Polara was speaking of iron, one of the valuable metals that was merely cast aside and used for buildings.

PL:20000
Verst had practically tailed Polara to Earth. Since he didn't know the exact co-ordinates, however her ship was much faster than his pod and he soon lost sight, He assumed that he wouldn't have to alter his course. So he settled in for the long haul. The time passed quickly and he soon felt his pod heating up entering the atmospheric, through his screen he could see little more than a swampland. That's all the time he had as he braced for impact.
An explosion of sludge and murky liquid spewed out of the crater he formed. The door burst open as Verst pulled his way out of the now wrecked pod. He cracked his back standing on top of his pod he saw a familiar, if not an unfriendly sight... Polara.
He thought he may as well announce his presence "What a familiar sight in such an unusual place." Verst smirked "I'd like another attempt for a place in your supposed military if it's all the same to you." He gave a small bow

Rafar grimaced when Polara pointed out the obvious weak spot in his request. "Granted, it is unusual for the Sayians to serve in the AE, but I don't have many other options. The BBA is to focused on keeping the peace to be effective, and I have.........difficulties with the SSE." He folds his arms almost defensively. He REALLY doesn't want to get into his past right now. "Besides, you need every warrior you can get I hear."
Well....at least she was honest. The arocsian stated she wouldn't accept stupidity or cowardice in her soldiers, but also laced her speech with constant slurs, which kind of pissed Rafar off. He was trying to be polite, but she just kept baiting him to respond. A flicker of annoyence passed his face, then it was gone. He would NOT let his temper get the best of him, he needed allies. After a long while of this, the alien finally stated her first test, he had to find something valuable, yet "thrown away like trash."
He outwardly appeared calm, "Ok Ill be right back." Rafar flew away, increasing his speed slightly more than he usually did, hoping to show off to the Arocsian commander, not being aware of their sizeable power gap. Flying slightly out of eye shot of the landing site, he would rise several hundred feet into the air, then drop like a stone through the ocean of air currents, thinking. Rafar had never considered the Earthlings very smart, but what would be a treasure they threw away? They only had the one planet, so they didn't have the luxury of wasting resources, soooo why would they waste treasure? Wait a second..........it couldn't be that simple. Regaining control of his downward plunge, he raced towards the nearby human city.

Polara has just closed her eyes as Rafar left, only to hear a short bang sound afterwards, a spacepod crashing into the planet and an inward groan from the female upon recognizing a ki that.. randomly became stronger than her by a fair margin. He flew right up to her, leaving the arcosian annoyed enough already. He wanted another test that she tried to give him back on Yardrat, what would make this time any different? "I tried to allow you entry via tests, there are three and you dared not even try the first one. If you are so inclined to try again, Find me something valuable yet cast aside like trash, and if you follow the other possible recruit you will not be accepted. This is your last chance, go."
Her tone was annoyed, eyes closing once more in silence as she continued to time Rafar while making a side note of where he was, and beginning Verst's timer as soon as the other Arcosian left on a stopwatch, as she couldn't time both at once in her head. She was a bit irritated; hopefully meditation while subconsciously tracking Rafar's timing would help to calm her rather irritated nerves. If Verst attempted to weasel out, she would merely leave the scene.

"If you think about it, i technically accepted your test. The fight was over in a hit but it was still technically a fight. But i shall try your new test anyway." Verst looked over to the saiyan darting off to the distance, "Well i better get to it. I'll be right back." He winked to Polara hoping to get some form of a rise out of her but upon noticing her meditative stance he realized he should just carry on.
Verst decided that simply trailing the saiyan would be the easy solution to this task, Lowering his power level to 14 should do for remaining undetected, and he took off after the saiyan's trail. Remaining out of sight as best as he could. This should be easy...

Rafar continued to streak through the air towards the nearby city, not aware of his new tail as he had no means of detecting ki. He was currently considering his decision, metal made sense, but there was no way to know for sure whether or not it was the correct answer. Ah well, he wouldn't get anything out of hesitating. He landed on the roof of a skyscraper, glancing around and noticing a antenna rising out of the ground.
"This should do nicely!"
Rafar smirked and kicked the metal pole lightly with his foot, severing it from it's tether point and unintentionally halting several TV broadcasts in the act, including several McBao's commercials. Rafar then turned around, but then halted, noticing a figure suspended against the skyline a few miles away. It wasn't too unusual for a ki user to be flying around, but still.....Rafar was getting bad vibes. In any case, Rafar would attempt to return to Polara, twirling his "acquired" metal pole in his hands.

Polara meditated silently, mulling over the current events and whether the Saiyan would be a good recruit. She didn't trust Verst, and noticing he had followed Rafar, gave a grunt of deep disastisfacttion. I knew I couldn't trust that moron for as far as I could punch him.. did he attempt to be unnoticed? I sensed his ki. I'm far from stupid, and so far he either ignored me or completely disregarded me. It seems Rafar is returning.. The female opened her cyan eyes, turning her eyes up to the Saiyan who was hovering before her. She was faintly impressed, standing up slowly and beginning to speak.
"Very, very well done.. You only took seven minutes and thirty seconds, quite fast for someone of your tier. If you are ready for the next test, I need you to find one more thing to prove your speed. I need you to find me something that is yellow like the sun and is valuable amongst jewlery stores. The trick is that you must find this naturally, Nothing from a store. Go once more, you have my impressment."
She would turn to Verst once he returned as well, replying rather harshly to his return. "I TOLD you not to follow the other recruit. I warned you. I do not care whether it was ignorance or stupidity, but I will not allow someone like you into the military with your level of shitty brains. This was your last chance from me, begone." Her eyes narrowed, temper rising for the naturally, and usually, calm Arcosian. Her patience had worn to dust with the male, anger rising as she fought to stay at least faintly calm.

Verst realised that the saiyan was sent on the same mission as him. Wow this 'Commander' really didn't know how to use resources wisely, but he wasn't really here to get into the Empire he just needed the co-ordinates for Earth. Pissing off some petty military official was just an added bonus. He turned off his suppression, he didn't need to hide from someone who was going to punish him for something that she'd sent someone else to do. Military types were always so boring, so dedicated to whatever they were assigned to do they forgot that they were once lowly unruly recruits themselves.
But it didn't matter really he was going to turn around and just annoy her. As soon as he showed up, it was like he already predicted... She was being annoying. "I see 60 years in the military means you get to be a bitch to random possible recruits, huh. At least i always treated my possible recruits with respect enough to kill them if they failed, you just bitch at them." Verst scoffed at Polara "I'm going to leave here and be 10 times more important than you ever will be, because you're just a pawn. The tail of a snake that doesn't care for anyone but the head. Goodbye and Good riddance." Verst scorned her and took off heading to somewhere more interesting.

Rafar hurtled the pole into the springy turf at Polara's feet, where it sat, quivering from the force of his cast.
"There you go, one metal pole delivered as ordered."
Before Rafar had the chance to listen to his next task, a teal Arocsian arrived, coming from the same direction as the Sayian had. Had he been.... cheating off him?! Apparently not all Arocsians were as honorable as the others he had met so far on Earth. When he thought about that, assuming all Arocsians were stuffy rule-followers was a child's assumption, driven by SSE propaganda and sayian pride. He watched as Polara gave Verst a blistering repramind and told him to run far away. Rafar crossed his arms and snorted as the Arocsian flew off with apparent unconcern.
"Good riddance."
Rafar would cock his head as Polara told him to find something, "that is yellow like the sun and is valuable amongst jewelry stores. The trick is that you must find this naturally, Nothing from a store."
"Seems simple enough, shouldn't be to hard to find some gold."
But where would he find unrefined gold? He doubted the commander was patient enough for him to dig through the Earth with his ki until he found that telltale hint of yellow. But then again, unless he was willing to steal some from a human, there was really no other way...
"Might want to back up to avoid the debris, just so you know......commander."
Rafar would rise around 50 feet into the air, and fire his Impact Cannon into the ground, a ways from Polara's ship, though some dirt might spray onto its gleaming hull.

Polara looked as Verst flew off; having not really listened to what sounded like complaints from the other Arcosian. Still somewhat annoyed, the female was slowly cooling back down; regaining her calm exterior. The metal pole at her ship's feet, the gleaming pole merely paled in comparison to the beauty of her ship. The ship was a deep navy blue, similar to the color of her own ki. The Navy Blue was imprinted in golden lettering on the side, something Polara was rather proud of
It seemed like the recruit had an idea; one that surprised her as a loud bang occured. Dust and dirt and grass flew everywhere as the arcosian created a barrier of ki to avoid the ship and her being splayed with dirt. Once the dirt subsided, the barrier disappeared and left the mother rather surprised. What the hell does he think he's doing? Maybe that monkey is cleverer than I thought, and quick to come up with the idea too. Blowing a hole to find the gold quickly is very, very clever..

Just as Rafar had thought, blasting the ground was a bad way to find gold. The crater caused by his blast was destitute of any golden gleam, only containing rock and soil. Well.... there could have been gold underground, but it would have been vaporized by the pure explosive force of the ki wave. He smiled, there was no way he could have created this big an explosion as this when he had arrived on Earth. Just another indication of his growing power.
"Ok lets try this again."
Rafar would fly off to the North, throwing large red ki waves into the ground as he went, searching for any gleam of yellow. He was not putting nearly as much power into these smaller blasts as he had originally, there was no point searching for gold if he just vaporized it with his ki. He would just have to toss low-power waves at the ground and hope that he got lucky and found some gold.
Arriving at a small creek, Rafar would halt suddenly, tossing several weak ki blasts into the ground around the site, creating 8 or 9 small craters in a already battered landscape. He would then drop like a stone, impacting the turf, hard. Searching the craters, he saw a gleam of yellow. Rafar bent down and picked up the pebble-sized piece of gold, smirking triumphantly.
