Thread PL: 256,000 Moving down the side streets of North Capitol, Walker peered around. He was still rather conspicuous, although in a different manner than usual. Instead of his normal huge form, he has squeezed his mass down somewhat to a still tall, but far more human-sized 2 meters. He wore a fuller version of old robe, but this one possessed sleeves as well. The hood obscured his face, and the bottom of the robe managed to cover his feet for the most part. People were giving him odd looks, but it wasn't quite as bad as usual. Turning down another street, he paused. It was somewhere around here.... The tree had been flying above North Capitol, when a odd power level managed to catch his attention. It felt different, and it took him a moment to realize why. The power felt like a Bio-Android. It was low, at the moment. Strong enough to easily take on a non-Ki using combatant, but not enough to pose a serious threat. Still, after seeing Sanngwynn's chaotic nature, he was concerned. It was worth investigating, and if it meant another Bio-Android who wasn't transformed into a slave to their appetites, it was an investment of time worth making. Continuing down the side alley, he peered back and forth once more. Where was it....? Azguard

It had been a mere matter of days since the release of Azguard from the confines of the medical research facility in which it had been reared, and so it was not all that surprising that the amorphous entity was finding every little detail of its surroundings quite fascinating. North Capitol, a sprawling city forged by the efforts of the human populace, was a veritable treat for any unfamiliar tourist. But for the Bio-Android in particular, the place was a buffet on an entirely different scale. Mixed in with the standard cocktail of rhinovirus and staphylococci that silently plagued the atmospheres of Earth were an enormity of various ailing and aiding strains the likes of which the experimental organism had not had the chance to partake of. There were, of course, a few hundred dozen familiar strains to which it had been introduced during captivity, but many were brand new ‘flavours’.
Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to Azguard itself, the sight of a large blue blob of ooze curiously sloshing itself across the streets was somewhat disturbing for any human. There were no screams of panic or anything of the sort, as far as the Bio-Android’s rudimentary auditory senses could tell – it is quite hard to discern distant sounds when your only means of hearing is through feeling the vibrations that make their way into your gelatinous body. Ignorance was bliss, to be sure.
‘This bacterium is resistant…?’ quizzed the queer quiddity, the grey lump of biomass that was its true body – its Core – presently processing a particular pathogen. Encounters on a microscopic level were so commonplace, and yet really it was only such entities as Azguard and the single-celled life forms from which it took its shape that could even hope to comprehend the most minute of nature’s happenings on a regular basis. Adopting what it had characteristically deemed a more natural anthropomorphic state, Azguard rounded a street corner; beady eyes watching with untold awe as the sunlight danced through the azure Plasm, projecting a somewhat watery expanse upon the street within which it saw its own shadow.
I’m trying to keep my posts here on the shorter side.

The Bio-Golem paused, and turned around. Just down the street was one of the most bizarre sights he had seen, and he was generally hard to surprise. A mass of almost see-through goo was moving about, with a smaller figure in the center. It did not... seem hostile, but it was peering around curiously, and staring at it's own mottled shadow. Trying not to snort in amusement, Walker moved up to it.
Upon closer inspection, it was as he suspected. This clearly had to be a Bio-Android. If not, this was an Alien that he had never before seen, which was possible. Bowing slightly, he pulled back his hood, and let his robe sleeves roll back, revealing his wooden form's hands. "Greetings. My name is Walker. I am, I suspect, an artificially created being like yourself."
Short and to the point. Folding his arms behind his back, he peered down at it. "What should I call you? More importantly, I suppose... are you newly created, or have you been around for a while?" It was probably best to get to the heart of the matter, what with the potential issues with it having a snack. Although, it was unfair to assume it ate people, even though most did. The most unusual thing about all this was probably fact that, during his approach, Walker had made no noise at all. No footsteps, and no speech, yet the words were still there for Azguard to hear. Telepathy was a useful thing, after all.

The familiar and yet strangely distant imagery of a translucent shadow was captivating, but perhaps not as attention grabbing as the voice of another entity resonating clearly within Azguard’s mind. It was a clear voice, slightly crackly and most definitely unfamiliar, that seemed to escape the typical distortions that came about from sound travelling through the Plasm. It was a resonance that the Bio-Android knew all too well, for it too depending on such a feat for the purpose of communication – that strange echo of communication on a level beyond mere auditory phenomenon.
‘Greetings,’ it sounded. ‘My name is Walker.’ The vaguely humanoid mass of sapphire slime did not move an inch in response. Rather, perhaps a little startled and awoken from its daydreaming, the actual Core of the cellular mass shifted and drifted through the mass like a fish in a bowl of water. Curious and unblinking eyes observed through all dimensions the entity that now stood just a yard or so away, for it stood out quite drastically from the normal population. A humanoid figure clad in cloth robes of organic origin, as was typical; its entire form was heavily reminiscent of those mighty aged life forms which humans referred to as “trees”. But unlike such dryads, this one was mobile and capable of communication.
‘They are called Azguard,’ the amorphous mass replied, exchanging words through silent waves that only they could hear. Still the ooze remained motionless as the grey mass within slowly swam itself in an elliptical path, eyes observing every little detail it could through the haze of azure. ‘Azguard has lived for two years…’
For a moment, the bubbly biomass paused, stilling itself within its slime. This creature – “Walker” it called itself – was so drastically different from anything the bacteria-ingesting blob had witnessed in its short span of life. There were questions on its naïve mind, but perhaps the largest of all would be perceived as the most unusual. Performing puppetry with its Plasm, Azguard raised a single gelatinous extremity, as if trying to put its hand upon the plant person’s shoulder. The question on its mind was a simple one, which it soon voiced without the slightest drop ill intent. An honest question:
‘Is Walker healthy…?’
Cue Azguard taste testing Walker, because why not?

It had only been a few months since she was last in the North Capital, but even as Aiami Lin flew over it she was impressed with the state of repair it was undergoing. Then again, she had no concept or previous experience with city rebuilding, so she had no idea if it actually was impressive, but mostly she was happy that it was happening at all. She could still remember the crumbling buildings, and the huddled masses that were leaving them behind. The Saiyan Empire, for reasons she still had no understanding of, had worked over the city. As terrible as it was, her worst memories from that day had nothing to do with the Empire or it's attack. Instead it was a showdown with two friendly Saiyans on her side, and an opportunistic android and absolutely terrifying bio-android on the other. Just the thought of that bio-android's words ripping through her mind, the promises of being torn to shreds and being... consumed.
Aiami visibly shivered, and she wished she could say it was from the cold. She stopped mid-air and shook herself, trying to get her head back on straight. She reminded herself she was stronger now, but the thought did little to comfort her. She let out a breath and started to focus her mind, falling into her meditation techniques. It was this that allowed her to sense the strange power nearby. It was small, but it was foreign in some way. The last time something felt like that was the bio-android, and that worried her. She was already curious, but now she felt compelled to check it out. Something like that shouldn't be wandering the streets.
Once she got close, Aiami didn't need her senses to see what she was looking for. A blue glob was in the middle of the alley, and next to a... very tall, robed person with weird hair. Or they looked tall from up in the sky, but she was more focused on the goo. At first she descended cautiously, eyeing it carefully. But then it reached out some kind of tendril and her eyes widened in fear. Without thinking, she shoved out a hand and launched a weak, basic ki blast aimed in between the two beings, meant to separate them.
"Get away from that thing!" Aiami shouted as she landed, falling into her stance and glaring at the glob.

Leaning down somewhat, the tree observed Azguard as it responded to his questions. It seemed innocent enough. Most evil Bio-Androids, and others for that matter, seemed entirely willing to be up front about it. An odd behavior. This "Azguard" seemed fairly innocuous. The question it asked, however, was not what he expected. "Am I healthy? Well, yes, as far as I am aware."
Why would it ask that, however? Was it worried about consuming tainted matter? That seemed... possible, but it was rather unlikely. He had yet to meet a Bio-Android who had any real problems, regardless of what was absorbed. Reikiko had absorbed a tree, and been perfectly fine. Maybe because she was stronger? The motion it was making seemed odd, though. Almost like it was-
And suddenly, a much simpler idea came to mind. "Yes, I am, but I have to ask... are you a medic? Is that why you ask after my health?" It was an interesting idea. He had been made in the Archetype of a "Sorcerer", and it seemed as though this one might have been made as a "Doctor". How fascinating. Leaning in for a closer look, he suddenly heard a voice yell "Get away from that thing!"
A Ki blast came flying through the air, but the tree merely sighed. One hand flew up, a single finger extended, and seemed to blur forward, hitting the Ki blast, and stopping it. A second later, it dispersed, and the tree stared at the newcomer. "That was very rude. Where do you get the right to refer to this young one as a 'Thing'. It hasn't done anything deserving of such labels." His wooden face shifted, staring at her, the purple glowing eyes seeming to narrow in annoyance.

‘Well, yes, as far as I am aware… Are you a medic?’ asked Walker. This was a question that Azguard had never heard asked before, mostly because the vast majority of questions that came its way were more or less along the lines of “what is it?” Of course, the very purpose of the amorphous entity was just as the dryad had asked – a medic’s duty was to make a person healthy, which is exactly what this Bio-Android did. Indeed, it had barely even managed to brush the towering tree man’s odd flesh with its Plasm before something quite heavily out of the ordinary took place.
“Get away from that thing!” Another voice, this time one that clearly rippled within the azure ooze; a human voice generated through physical vibration, rather than via the telepathic waves that allowed the tree and the puddle to commune. In all fairness, Azguard was paying very little mind to what was going on outside of its most recent encounter, but a flash of light that bent its way through the gel was at least an indicator of something else taking place. Once more, the grey flesh suspended within the sludge shifted about, performing what was akin to a somersault as it settled its gaze upon a distinctly human figure. Born from human genomes, living its entire life in the presence of people, there was certainly no mistaking what was human and what was inhuman.
Black hair, eyes of jade, and a light but healthy complexion as far as the amorphous aide could tell. A human female stood not all that far away, stance primed as intense emeralds stared directly into the mysterious mire. Meanwhile, still under the influence of the Core, Azguard’s extended ‘arm’ pressed firmly against Walker’s skin before retracting. Invisible to the naked eye, dozens upon dozens of microscopic vesicles funnelled the sampled cellular matter through to one of the smaller spheres of grey flesh that slowly orbited the main entity.
‘What was that light...?’ inquired the enigma, before realising something odd and abruptly changing the topic of its own accord: ‘Azguard does not recognise Walker’s cells, but they do not seem bad to human health!’

Cado was making his way from the frozen northern mountains. The air was cold, something he wasn’t quite used too coming from Konats to here. So flying through the air he headed into the city hoping to get a little heat and warm up a good bit. He flew a good distance above the roof tops , giving himself a good view of the city below and its people that filled the streets. Suddenly though a figure flew across his path in a blur. The person seemed to be in quite a bit of a hurry. He thought to himself , he had nothing else to do, so let’s go see what all the rush was about.
Cado turned and followed the speeding person to see what they were up too. Soon enough though he would see the figure of a woman floating in the air over an alley way , and firing off a ki blast into it. His eyes widened hearing her yelling to get away. He was now curious. So he would land on the other rooftop above the alleyway and look over the edge to see what was going on. Once again though, just as the Arcosian he had seen, these creatures were new to him. The girl he knew was human, she looked it. He didn’t have a clue what he was looking at down in the alley way. One creature without much of a physical body, and then the one that looked completely armored.
So Cado would just stay on the rooftop for now, and peer down. Watching to see what unfolds and to see if these guys could be a friend of foe.

Seeing this other figure stop and dissolve her ki blast caused Aiami's stance to drop a little in shock. Of course, as she got a better look at the figure, it was even more so. Her earlier assumptions were very off, this was no human, this was something very different. Some kind of... animate... wood person? She wasn't sure, but she was sure that it was way more powerful than she was to do what it did to her attack, which was mildly unnerving since she may have just gotten on it's bad side. Especially more so given how... composed it was at having a ki blast thrown at it.
Regardless, Aiami kept her stance up, still eyeing them both warily, especially the blob. She shivered as the wood person spoke to her through her mind, but kept a brave face. "The last time I encountered something like... that, it threatened to eat me, among many other worse things. It almost made good on those promises, as well. It's a miracle I'm still alive." She let out a shaky breath at the traumatic experience. "So you will understand if I was not willing to take chances with another one, least of all in the middle of a city."
Still, she had to concede, 'rude' was one way of putting it. She hadn't even thought about attacking, she had just acted. Something she was supposed to be better about. In an attempt to make up for that, Aiami took a breath before speaking once more. "You seem to know about this--" She avoided the word 'thing.' "--blob. What is it?" She paused before taking it a step further. "And who... what are you?"

The tree stared at Aiami for a moment, assessing her. She appeared youngish for a human, to his eyes anyway. Tapping his face, he made a thoughtful "Hrmm" noise. Apparently, she had also felt the Bio-Android, and had an unfortunate experience with one. That would explain her behavior, certainly. Meanwhile, Azguard was apparently doing something to him, as the blob announced a moment later that he was not harmful to humans. "That is good. I didn't believe I was, but it is nice to have a secondary opinion from someone more familiar with the science. It is not my field of expertise." Chuckling slightly, he flexed his limb slightly, and held it up. "My cells are not that of a typical biological life form, but rather based off plant matter. I suspect that is the cause of your difficulty."
Turning back to Aiami, he made another odd, non-committal noise. "I believe that you are being what you humans call 'Racist.' As you can likely tell from Azguard's statement, it is unaware of Ki. Besides, if anyone initiates a hostile action, I am more than capable of halting it before any harm can occur." He gestured to himself for a second. "You can sense Ki, can you not? It's how I found Azguard, and I assume how you located it as well. Read my power, and tell me I do not have the situation well in hand."
Actually, speaking of Ki... Walker turned to look up at the Hybrid. "Eavesdropping is rude. I confess, you are all acting very suspicious of Azguard. Is it because it's a Bio-Android? I am an artificially created life-form, and I have no intention of eating anyone." Dusting his hands off, he removed his large outer robe, tossing it casually to one side, allowing it to evaporate into embers of purple flame. Beneath it was a simple long outfit of purple fabric, and a somewhat inhuman wooden face. (See Profile, Current Form)

‘My cells are based off plant matter…’ An interesting revelation it was, confirming some of the silent suspicions of Azguard’s biological processes. The Bio-Android had sampled the cells of numerous examples of vegetation in its short time of freedom, so it did somewhat recognise the underlying genomes, but that was just one half of the puzzle that was Walker. To the best of the cellular entity’s knowledge, plant life did not amble about as humans do; greenery was typically still, affixed within the soils via meshes of roots. Furthermore, and perhaps most interestingly of all, the cells themselves were strangely inconsistent with any of the healer’s findings. This was a series of curiosities which it felt in needed to delve deeper into, but would do so in due time. Right now, all manner of information was being exchanged in its presence, including that mysterious energy known as ‘Ki’ which the elderly gentleman had spoken of.
“It’s a miracle I’m still alive,” the human replied, answering the unspoken questions of Walker through standard tongue. Such words immediately piqued the amorphous anthropoid’s interesting, the Core of the creation watching the human female with what probably was a Universal expression. Let’s face it; Azguard’s façade was not exactly as capable of complex motion as a human visage. Nonetheless, this was a curious quandary that it often faced.
If there was one type of body the medicinal mould understood thoroughly, it was that of the human form. Every standard cell and its necessities had been hardwired into its brain – into its most primal of instincts – so that it could make the human body healthy. A gel that could cleanse the physical form of any and all diseases was what it was supposed to be and, while it stood far from that mark of perfection, Azguard was not about to act out of its norms. In sheer selflessness, it wanted to know, now turning its entire form to face the wary woman and leaning forwards. Nonchalantly miming the previously observed actions of the botanical behemoth that stood beside it, it peered as Aiami.
“What is it? …What are you?”
‘I have no intention of eating anyone,’ Walker stated. ‘Walker is a plant,’ Azguard chirped telepathically, innocently answering the questions posed as it let its Core tumble gently within the Plasm, slowly stepping forwards. ‘Azguard was made by humans. They were made to help humans! Is this human healthy – are you healthy…?’

Peering down ,Cado watched the two hold a conversation between them and the girl. It wasn’t long after he landed to watch that he had been seen or rather his presence was felt. Cado could tell the one being was strong and figured he could sense a person’s ki just as he was able to also. He was caught but after watching the two for the brief time, he figured it was all safe. Then he heard a voice. It called him out on his eavesdropping, and rather basically spying on the two down below himself.
Cado stood up and leaped down, falling to the alleyway below. He landed with a crouch and immediately stood up and walked up to the rather large wooden tree being who called himself a bio-android. “ I’m sorry for being so cautious , I’m rather new to the planet here, and there are a lot of people, and rather creatures I guess, that I have never seen or met before. My name is cado, and I am from the planet Konats “ Cado kept looking back and forth between them both just trying to take in all this new information about everything he was missing being secluded off into the far reaches of the galaxy, and there was so much more out here that he never knew. “ If you’re a Bio- Android, what is this or he?” Suggesting towards the large mass beside him.

Bristling with indignation at being called a racist, Aiami set her stance and furrowed her brow as she watched the tree. If anything, she was just being cautious about something she had unfortunate experience with. After all, it wasn't like she judged all saiyans for the invasion, just the Empire loyal ones. But then, why should it be any different for bio-androids? It's not like Contagion was the only example of them, especially if they can all be so different. After all, she was talking to a tree and some kind of sentient goo.
In an unhappy huff, she dropped her stance, now standing normally and crossing her arms. Aiami closed her eyes and focused herself as she cast out her senses, breathing deeply as she did. She heard the tree speak once more, to a different person it sounded like. Sure enough, she could sense a power on the roof, only to have it overshadowed when she fully felt Walker's power. She gasped, eyes snapping open as they refocused on the tree in surprise. She had never felt anything like that before, or at least, not this close. Indeed, Walker was more than capable of doing whatever he pleased. She inwardly berated herself for not feeling it earlier. It seemed she still needed yet more practice when it came to her senses.
Aiami was going to comment on that when she noticed someone new, likely the person on the roof she felt earlier. She was going to open her mouth to mirror the newcomer's question, more of a repeat for her, when Azguard's voice chimed through her head. As much telepathy was being used she should be used to it by this point, but it was still incredibly foreign to hear something without using her ears. She looked down to the bio-android that was steadily approaching. Even she could see it was without any hostile intent, in fact she just 'heard' that. Even still, she took an instinctual step back, before stopping herself. She took a deep breath to steady herself before holding her ground.
"I... yes. I am healthy. I was sick when I had the flu a few months ago, but that's gone now." Aiami nodded, looking into what she thought was the eyes of the thing inside the gel. At least she hoped those small black things were eyes. As much as she was scared not too long ago, she was also curious. Contagion was nothing like this orb before her, and certainly nothing like the tree over there. This made things difficult. At least with saiyans she could usually tell if she should dislike them or not by what they were wearing. There didn't seem to be any way to judge bio-androids at face value, though, and that made things considerably harder.
"Why do you ask, um... Azguard? I think I heard the tree say that was your name?"

The tree looked on approvingly as Azguard offered it's aid to the girl. "I see you're not lying about your purpose. Well done. As for myself." How to put this... he was artificially created, but not by science. He probably fell under the category of Bio-Android, but seeing how people reacted to such a label was quite telling. Pausing, he stopped, and then slowly rolled his massive shoulders in a shrug. "I am Walker."
"I am... not sure how to put it besides that. I have yet to meet another like myself, save for my family which I have created from my own being." Shrugging, he leaned against the wall, observing everyone there with curiosity. What was going to occur here? He was quite interested to find out....

“Why do you ask, um… Azguard?” queried the human. At this point, even in taking a step back, the cellular mass was within range of its elasticised reach. But even so, it refrained from making any untoward actions. There were so many interesting things going on that it really was not all that sure where to begin – what to do, to say, and to take stock of. Society was as diverse as the colonies of bacteria that had been harvested, but at least it did require for the Bio-Android to hungrily devour entire humans just to make sense of it all. To be fair, that was a possibility, but not one that it was even going to dare and consider.
‘Azguard wouldn’t feel right if you were not healthy and they could not help,’ the slime replied honestly. Already had it met a man – an elderly gentleman – who had possessed ails beyond the amorphous entity’s ability to treat. To be fair, that encounter had lasted maybe five minutes at best, but who was it to judge based on time frames? The fact that this human had been afflicted by influenza months ago was fascinating enough, for she had managed to shrug off the virus. Her body had long since adapted and rightfully repelled the intrusive infection before Azguard had even been allowed out of the medical facility in which it had been raised. In other words, there was no need to worry.
Not about Aiami Lin, at least.
‘Are you healthy, too? …Cado?’ Posing its most commonly recited question like a record player with its needle stuck, the gelatinous creature quickly shifted its mass in a display of astounding elasticity. Makeshift feet remaining firmly planted on the pave beside the cautious female, the rest of the presently humanoid mass narrowed and elongated back towards Walker and the new face that had joined them. With it, the grey Core slipped like a sardine through the now dozen feet long serpentine slime, depositing itself at the ‘head’ and curiously eyeing the newcomer as it had done the latter.
As if this display of intangibility wasn’t already startling enough, it did not end there. In one last adjustment of the Plasm that encased its true body, Azguard peeled free its feet from the floor and allowed its entire mass to adopt a cigar shape, hovering horizontally at head height over the ground. As it demonstrated its ability to float in the air, body rippling slightly as it did so, the curious critter rolled slightly as it recalled some of its greater intrigue. There were so many things in this world it did not understand – things which it could not wholly comprehend – and yet one of them had been openly spoken of without much emphasis. It was something that had yet to be answered, and the grey glob shifted its attentions back to the at least somewhat more familiar tree-man and Miss Lin in order to pose the question:
‘What is Ki…?’
