Thrown in a ditch on the side of the road, this was how Oguma found himself, after Relis rescued him. He woke up with a huge headache, but felt no pain at all down in his torso where his bandages were. In fact, as he looked down past his waist he saw that they were non-existent underneath or over top the black vest and and grey, high-collared shirt he wore on his muscled body. His black pants, also had no damage and neither did the black boots he wore. He could see his spear was gone and he remembered it being so because he had thrown it at people multiple times in order to inflict damage at the tourney he had been at. He scratched his forehead coursing his hands through his hair and felt the strands were not coarse nor noticeably gray in color. Feeling around his head, his horns were also gone but a red and gold headband remained.
"I must have untransformed upon leaving that battle," he growled as he blinked his eyes. One thing that was definitely gone was the highly designed bronze armor with Oni faces on it. He had really liked it though there was nothing he could do about that.
Suddenly, a cold sensation overtook him. He looked up and watched the snow fall upon his pale skin.
"My question now though is where am I?" he pondered as he crossed his arms with worry. His mouth turned into a frown and he almost felt like shivering as he sat about knee deep in snow. Someone tapped his shoulder from behind though and said, "Idiot Oni-chan, want to come home with me?"
Turning his head he witnessed a woman with long silver hair framing her face staring down at him and grabbed her hair, then her hand gently. "Um," he uttered, "Who are you?"
The lady frowned slightly closing her red eyes and pointed at a pair of long curled horns on top of her head that stuck out to the sides of it just above her ears with her right hand. The lady then brought her hand down over top a dark purple tube, down past her belly, and rested it on a thick brown belt with a bronze buckle which held up a matching dark purple skirt. She had no shoes on but in this weather she really seemed out of place. The lady then did a strange thing and summoned a white cloak with red circle designs out of thin air and laid it over top of Oguma's shoulders.
Oguma noticed that with it on his shoulders he felt a bit warmer, but still did not did not know her name. The one thing he did know was that her cloak's design matched a tattoo on her right leg. There seemed to be long silence. Oguma hated it so he asked again, "Who are you?"
The woman answered this time, "Oni-Chan, er Oguma, I'm your sister. Didn't you get the message at the tourney? I was watching you on TV while waiting hoping you'd send a sign you had, however, you never did. The family, our family, has an important thing to discuss."
Oguma blinked. "This is Mei..." he thought aloud uttering the words so he could hear her.
"I'm Marama now," she answered flicking his nose. "Our family realized we didn't have matching names so they've tried to go and rename us. We've also gotten a lot stronger just as you have. That new technique you witnessed with my cloak was a basic 'Magic Materialization'."
Oguma cupped his hands around his nose and held it in pain. He realized that somehow after Relis saved him he must have walked north or maybe dragged himself here in order to seek shelter. Mei, no Marama, found him, healed him, and had since then been waiting for him to wake up. It sure took her a long time to find him. The new name Oni he was being addressed as was likely his new name and it made him slightly wonder what others had been given for names. Anyway, he had no time to deal with thought he could feel more blood dripping down his body from his nostrils. Marama had indeed gotten stronger.
"How did you get so strong?" he asked as Marama reached out a hand and let ki flow from it over to his nose with her healing technique.
"I simply did what all Inugami do and ate souls. One or two of them being our former masters Choi and Pei Pan since their training and powers were no more use to the family."
Oguma stood up on his feet and said, "Are we... close to home?" He didn't ask about his masters because while he didn't care about Pei Pan as a much he knew Choi Pan could have only taken him so far in life. He was grateful for the demon teaching him the arts of destruction, but he knew from now on he would need the handy techniques, at least some of them, that Marama was consistently showing off here.
"Yes, let me take you there," Mei stated. She focused her ki and this time Oguma watched as black demon wings sprouted from her back. She had gained these too! It really angered him that his sister now seemed stronger then him. He grabbed her hand though and flew though from what was the outskirts of Jingle Village into town whereupon they landed in a shack near the center of the empty town and stepped inside. It was likely, as far as he could see, that no humans were left in the village. All eaten, or scared away by the terror that was his family. He smiled and said, "I'm going to have a good time recovering here. I'll show you my power later."
Marama nodded and said, "I'd like that. But there's other pressing information you need to know too from De-mon or Dai inside."
