The Diablo Desert. A vast, empty, barren wasteland. Not a place one was very likely to find inhabitants of any kind. Of course, while common knowledge would have dictated to avoid searching in a desert for the man she was looking for, Kirin was a rather..interesting sort. To her knowledge, she was not looking for a large group of people yet, just a single man. In all honesty, she could have flown straight over the desert. It would have been more expedient, and would have resulted in her either finding the man she was looking for, or cause her to look elsewhere. But..some feeling in her gut told her to search on foot. So, after flying her way back to the South Capitol, purchasing items, preparing to search, she eventually was ready, and touched down at the very edge of the desert, where the grass withered and died, shoots attempting to poke up through the sand. She sighed softly as she adjusted the white cloak she was wearing, patting herself down, checking to see if everything was in the proper location. After a few rounds of this movement, she eventually decided that she was as ready as she could ever be. She stepped into the desert.

It had been three hours since her mistake to head into the desert. At first, she'd managed to get headed in the right direction, setting up camp every night, managing to get enough food to keep her strength up, generally doing a good job of surviving. Of course, that was before the sandstorms started. Now, she was disoriented, and actually striding DEEPER into the desert. She was running low on water now, and flying up hadn't worked. She was so deep in the desert that flying in any one direction ended up making her give up. Of course, she could have kept flying in a single direction, and eventually would have found Mount Paozu, or made her way back to the entrance. But she was admittedly in a bit of a panic mode, having been turned around dozens of times, and having spent several days in the desert, she eventually just stood still, standing in what was the definitive center of the Diablo Desert. She sighed as she tugged her hood down, taking the final drink of her canteen. Christ..searching the desert was a horrible idea Kirin..why would you do that.. She muttered to herself, her growling stomach and parched throat distracting her from actively probing with her Ki sense, making it very easy to sneak up on her.
