The alarm set on Kayle's scouter went off with a loud cacophony of noises. It was still exceedingly early and the sun had not even risen yet. This was perfectly fine because Kayle was going to make great use of his time today. He groggily pushed his heavy body out of his bed, moving himself toward the bath room as he did so. Once there, he got in the shower, turned on the water, and waited for it to become scalding hot. His preparation could not start too soon today, but he would need to shower in the hottest water imaginable from this faucet. In his head, he thought that the heat from the water supply would help him greatly where he was departing to. Whether this was true or not remained to be seen. He was leaving to head back to the Frozen North. It was in this place that he had learned to control the oozaru while with that other female oozaru, who's name he never learned. In this place was harshest environment on Earth Kayle knew about, and it was likely there that he could push to empower himself further. After his shower, Kayle stepped out of the bath room, dried himself off on the complementary towels that were in the room, and then proceeded to put on his heavily weighted training clothing as well as place his scouter securely over his ear. It was now time to leave, and Kayle calmly walked toward the only door that lead outside.
When Kayle finally stepped outside of the run down motel that he had been staying in, he looked up at the sky. The skies were unclouded, so much so that it almost seemed to be a dream, and the stars were shinning luxuriously, like tiny little jewels high up in the sky. Since Kayle had learned to control his oozaru form, he had also been able to keep himself from transforming at all by not looking at the moon. He did not need to worry about hulking out as a great ape unless he wished to, because at this point it required direct sight of the moon, and not just being beneath it. It was quiet out, and even the people that enjoyed the 'night life' were not stirring about at this time of the morning, or night if one preferred. This was the way Kayle liked it. He had always found the humans present here to be weak and pathetic. He regretted even coming here to Earth in the first place, and could not wait until he could return to Vegeta. Truly, this was where he could truly be content with his saiyan pride. Though he needed to get much stronger before going back because he had only grown to about twice his power since leaving, and that was no where near enough. This dismal gain would likely be looked at as sad by the queen, whom he herself had raised hers to super saiyan levels during her stay on this planet.
It was at this time that Kayle decided that he had enough. It was finally time to stop dwelling on the past. He was ultimately trying to make up for the loss of power in the short time that was coming. He took to the skies with such intensity that it had actually crushed part of the stairs on which he was standing. Soaring through the air always was something that had always soothed Kayle as there was nothing like feeling the cool night air on there face as they flew. At least in his opinion, that is. Looking down as he passed over the metropolis area, he could see that the inner city was much more lively than the outskirts where he liked to stay. Even at this time of night the cars were busy running up and down the streets, and people were moving about there lives. What exactly they would be doing out this late was anyone's guess. It was completely different than the small towns and villages of the area. He hovered there for a moment, just levitating in the position he was in.
How can they be so oblivious, even after all this time knowing that powerful beings are out there? He thought to himself. Look at them. They go about their lives as if nothing is happening. This is a sad way to live.
After observing Satan City and the surrounding areas, Kayle decided that it was time to make it to the north. He had packed several things, like sleeping bags, hygiene items, matches, and other assorted survival things in his pack. It was clear that he had planned to spend several days up there. A brilliant white aura burst around Kayle as he flew faster and faster toward his chosen destination. The scenery below was beginning to blend together, almost like a surreal painting more than actual landscape. The grey of the buildings and streets eventually gave way to the green of farm land and trees, which it self then gave way to the blue of water. The changing of the colors of the scenery was the only real discernible difference while flying at these speeds. Eventually, after a little while of flight, the sea gave way to ice and giant glaciers. He was here again, the place called the Frozen North.
Kayle noticed something that was different here in the Frozen North this time. The skies were not as clear as they were else where on the Earth he had been, or like they were the previous time he was here. Dark clouds could easily be seen while snow poured out of them in the distance. This made it a bit different than the last time he had been here. Last time it was clear, like in Satan City. Kayle wondered to himself just how much harsher this would make the training area. Kayle could feel the excitement welling within him. He knew that the harsher the environment could be, the better his training gains would be.
There is only one way to find out. Kayle thought to himself as he bolted into the center of the storm. This is going to be fun.
The farther he went in, the worse the storm became. It almost seemed as if the tempest were here just for him, sort of like the earth itself was attempting to help in his mission. Naturally, this could not be true as it was plainly that the weather did not change due to personal preference, nor to assist or hinder anyone. In time, he found a point that was worth settling for to begin training. The violent storm was still raging over head, but it was not bad enough to where he could not see. Kayle let himself float to the ground slowly, while the ice and snow from the storm nettled his arms with cold. He relished every minute of it, taking in and savoring the cold kiss of the night. This was something that he was used to, the discomfort of a true training environment. He would begin by firing ki blasts here and there, as well as doing various exorcises to help facilitate his power level development.
As time went on, the storm was starting to get bad. He could barely see two feet in front of his face, and he knew that he would need to find a place to wait it out. Some things were even to much for even the greatest of the universes warriors. What good was training if you couldn't even see where your energy was releasing? All of a sudden, through the heavy blizzard, his scouter got a blip and it read a 5,000. Then there was another, and another! There were more people out here! All Kayle needed to do was to follow the radar echos on the scouter and he could find shelter. Kayle zoomed off in the direction of the organism that his scouter was indicating. Kayle arrived at the location that his scouter was pointing out, but didn't see anyone. The storm was so intense that he just assumed that was the reason. He lowered himself to the ground once more. The storm wasn't as heavy down here. It seemed to be moving away from this location and toward where he was before. He gazed around the area, still seeing nothing, and then turned his scouter back on. The pips popped up on the screen again, and Kayle followed them dutifully. Sooner or later he knew he would find something. He had too because this was not a cheap scouter that would give out in conditions like these. There! In the distance, a gleam of light, as if it was reflecting off of metal. Kayle approached the area with due caution, as he wasn't sure what would be there. As he drew closer and closer, he realized that what his scouter had been reading was not any kind of life at all, but some sort of robots. These particular type of animate beings were something that Kayle had never seen earlier. They were not really humanoid like androids, but neither were they major power suits to be worn by people.
What are these things even here for? Kayle wondered to himself. Why would people even want to put guard robots up here?
It was to late, however, as it was at this point that the robots saw, and flew, towards him at a rather fast speed. There were a total of three of them for now, and each one had a power level of around 5,000. He had a sinking feeling that if he did not put an end to them quickly, that more would be on the way soon. Luckily for Kayle they were less than half his power level, even with his heavy weights on. In fact it was almost a third of his weighted power level, but still, fighting three at once was going to be a challenge.
The first robot charged ahead at Kayle at a ramming speed, in an attempt to stun him into not moving, while the other two charged their blasters and heaved their energy at him. The ramming robot was easily dodged, as well as one of the blasts, but the third one hit spot on and Kayle was sent reeling through the sky. He was finally able to stop himself in mid air, but the robots were relentlessly pursued him. There was no way that Kayle was going to allow himself to be beaten by some worthless piles of moving scrap heap. As the first robot turned around and tried ramming him again, Kayle summoned spiritual energy from deep inside himself. A bright ball of blue ki energy began to form in his right hand, growing bigger and bigger with each passing second. Finally he has gathered so much of the energy that it completely engulfed his hand, and he knew it was time to fire it.
With a bellow, Kayle screamed out "Super Spirit Cannon!" and furiously flung the stored energy ball at the automaton, watching it hit and blast straight through it with no problems what so ever.
Unfortunately for Kayle, he had kept all of his attention on one of the robots, leaving the other two open to attack. Soon he felt the sting of one of them coming up behind him, whacking him into an energy blast from the other one, and then from there into the ground. As he pulled himself off the ground, Kayle realized that these automated machines may be weak, but they were not stupid. He would need to step up his game a little. They were rushing at Kayle again, but he was easily able to dodge the mechanized warriors by simply side stepping. As he did so, he was charging up yet another attack, though this one was a bit different. Blue electric energy began to crackle around Kayle as the energy was becoming stronger and stronger around his whole body. The automatons took another pass, but this time Kayle was more than ready for them.
"Photonic Surge" he yelled, as an emanation of dark blue ki and electromagnetic energy burst forth from all parts of his body.
The sensitive circuits of the robots were fried instantly be the pulse of energy as they both lay there slumped over. At last, it seemed that the robotic protectors were done for, and Kayle could be on his way. It was just that something was nagging him in the back of his mind. It was the answers to his earlier questions were never resolved. What were they here guarding, and why would someone take the time to put them here if they were guarding nothing? The human part of him was getting the better of Kayle now as his curiosity was driving him mad with uncertainty. The answers to these questions would have to be found, for if they were not, his mind was never going to let him live it down. After the relatively short battle, he was determined to see what they were guarding. He began searching for a hidden entrance of some sort. Surely there was one around here somewhere.
