The deep forest paths of Mount Paozu were truly a wondrous place for those with the strength and backbone to traverse under the ancient canopy of trees. The ancient paths were dug deep into the ground by the passing of ancient creatures that were found nowhere else on the planet. While the creatures here were a cut above the rest of the creatures on Mount Paozu, which was really saying something in and of itself, if you had the strength to come to this place there were endless opportunities for adventure and personal evolution. It was for these reasons that Katsu was here.
Katsu's research had lately pointed to a new quirk in genetics. A hidden bit of DNA that was widely believed to be pure junk DNA, a mere placeholder with no known use. Yet Katsu was beginning to think that this little bit of DNA that was present in only .004% of all genetic samples he had ever been able to get his hands on, which numbered in the hundreds of billions, was the very reason that he was alive today. It seemed, to Katsu's knowledgeable eyes, to be an alternate genetic path to Ki Manipulation. All of the world's current Ki Sensitives, like the BBA's Kaos Unit, the Z-Fighters, and every Arcosian, Saiyan, and plenty of others in existence had a different Ki Sensing Gene active in their DNA. Katsu was perhaps unique in all of the known galaxy for being Ki Sensitive but NOT having the same gene as others. It was his Team's serum that had caused his Ki Sensitivity, and it was his duty to his fellow scientists to recover the serum formula and give it to the world.
Searching amongst the ancient trees, malevolent eyes staring at him hungrily from the darkness, Katsu knew this was just one more chance to disprove his current theory, ruining his last few months of work and having him start anew... but that was Science! That was Evolution!
“Evolve or die. Always move forward to bigger and better things. If you stop moving, the world moves on, and you can't see all the wonderful things it can produce anymore...” Rambling to himself, Katsu sweated profusely. It really was a rough trek in this area.
The trees were ancient, the creature's were vicious, and Katsu had been attacked at least a dozen times already by some half-starved creature too out of its mind with hunger to realize Katsu was much stronger than he first appeared. Thus there were several gashes and rents in his labcoat, dirt in several places including Katsu's left cheek, and more than a few vials full of blood samples sitting within Katsu's Hoi Poi Capsule set in his pocket. All in all it was a wonderful time for Katsu, those samples he had taken already were alone worth the trip, but perhaps even better Katsu had seen a glimpse of something between the trees, some building far in the distance. It was mostly hidden by overgrowth, but was exciting was that it still seemed to be active!
Taking out his datapad Katsu reconfirmed his location, again checking its EM radar, still picking up the telltale mark of modern devices way out here in the deepest of the deep forests. Pocketing the device once more Katsu leapt up onto a low lying tree branch, taking a quick break to drink some fresh water and pop a few morsels of food into his mouth. ”Ah...coming to find youuuu~”

Mount Paozu, it was a place that held quite a few sorrowful memories for Reikiko, and rightly so. In the end it was the area where a specific laboratory had been located. Professor Grimm had always wanted only one laboratory, and only one Chimera to be in his daughter, but the crime syndicate that got their hands on him demanded for more. As a result six laboratories had been raised over the planet, each dedicated to a specific Chimera Sister. Mount Paozu had been the location that concealed Laboratory: Chimera-K a cryptic name for those who didn't knew about the project, but in layman terms it had been the laboratory where her sister Keiko had been born, the laboratory she called her home, and where she had almost devoured Reikiko. Speaking of Reikiko, the bio-android had chosen to visit the laboratory, a decision that was associated with her search for knowledge, and the desire for power. She had been inside the dimly lit caverns that concealed the laboratory, flipping the pages of a old dusty book.
She obviously knew about the fact she wasn't at her full potential, in the end perfection was much greater than this and yet she was worried about the knowledge she had obtained. The book she was reading contained notes, notes that told her of an old story she remembered in detail. It was said that a Chimera grown closer to perfection by devouring people, but only true power would be obtained when they tasted the sacrifice of a loved one. It was a story associated to her deceased sister Yuriko, who had once told her that devouring a loved one would allow a Chimera to obtain true power. But that... That was an idea even she considered taboo.
"Yuki, we're lea--- Yuki?"
She looked around with a slightly nervous look in her eyes, having been so absorbed in her research that she had lost sight of the little girl. In the meanwhile outside the laboratory a little child-like creature was walking amidst the trees, a desperate quest having been initiated. Only moments ago her mother had a really serious expression, and Yuki knew what that troubled look meant! Her mother was surely hungry! And everyone knew that when you're hungry you need to eat. The little bio-android darted from one tree to another, seemingly looking for something but to no avail.
"Yuki wonder where Yuki is..."
It was the rustling of the nearby trees that made Yuki look into the sky, and then sniff the air softly. She sensed someone, or at least someone foreign was around. Her mother told her to be wary of strangers, because stranger-danger is a seriously dangerous thing to deal with, but if she could figure out who this person was, and what they were up to then surely she could make her mother proud by telling this info. She might had even be praised for her skills at being a spy, or a ninja. Wait, would that make her a shinobi or a kunoichi?
"Is Yuki a boy... or is Yuki a girl? Because Yuki can only be a kunoichi if she is a girl! But if Yuki is a boy then she becomes a he?"
The bio-android looked downwards at her carapace, and in a rather comedic fashion started to pat her body in all sorts of areas.
"Yuki lacks pillows like Rei-mama.... But Yuki also lacks the elephant snout that Eto-puuh has..."
the child frowned, tilting her head to the side in confusion as she mumbled softly.
"Apples lack pillows and a snout.... does that make Yuki an apple?! W-Wait that makes no sense, Rei-mama isn't an apple! Uguu... Yuki has discovered a new mystery. But Yuki feels like Yuki is forgetting something."
It was at that point the child recalled she had been busy with something... the spying of the mysterious stranger she smelled. Sneakily making her way amidst the trees and bushes she pursuit the trail of the scent, till she spotted the stranger sitting nearby, consuming what appeared to be some food and drinks. Rather sneakily the girl hid herself under a bush, her azure-colored eyes sparkling with childish curiosity.
He is doing it... Playing Hide and Seek while eating. Is he a Master at Seeking or merely confident?
To think they were playing hide and seek... In the meanwhile, her body concealed amidst the blanket of leafs that dotted the sky above them, Reikiko gazed watchfully at the stranger. She didn't knew who they were, and they seemed too carefree to be a Chimera operative. But then again, with Bing's recent death it was clear to the bio-android that she couldn't allow herself to take any risks. If that man did as much as a dangerous action toward the hiding Yuki, he would find out what it meant to draw the ire of a Chimera.
-Both have their Ki suppressed, but Yuki's tail is swinging in excitement, so feel free to exploit that detail to your advantage in finding her.-

While the adorable Yuki was meandering about and eventually becoming aware of Katsu's presence (Which wasn't that hard considering his energy wasn't repressed a great deal) he had merely been finishing up the rest of his meal, enjoying the moment of peace he had been given. The creatures of this area were incredibly aggressive and kept attacking despite the amount of power that Katsu showing he possessed by his Ki signature, most often out of hunger or ignorance, but a few had decided to target him specifically because he was strong, at least by Terran animal standards. Lots of Terran things had a love to prove themselves, even if it wasn't really in their best interests to attempt to do so.
All in all it meant that Katsu had very few chances to stop and rest, so his short interlude was much appreciated, even if it was about to be ended. Katsu had just polished off the rest of his homemade meat pie (Hoi Poi capsules made food storage so easy!) when a rumble in the woods alerted Katsu to an incoming predator. It was one of those sets of eyes that had been watching him from the get go, yet this one had a bit more intelligence visible behind their eyes. When it emerged from the trees and thick undergrowth Katsu was mildly surprised to find it was a Spinosaurus, which was essentially a Tyrannosaurus Rex with longer forelegs (Their claws were actually useful for hunting), a large “sail” adorning its back, and put on steroids! Often considered one of the deadliest dinosaurs to have ever existed the Spinosaur was invariably the true king of a biome wherever it resided, and it was no different in this ancient forest. In fact this one creature appeared to be a paragon of its kind, with a heavy serrated blade of a backsail and claws as big as Katsu himself.
The Spinosaur knew it had one real chance to take down the puny human creature that had disabled so many other beasts of the forest and reaffirm it's position as top of the food chain, and that was to rush Katsu. Any other creature that had given him a moment to react had been taken down in short order, so the Spinosaur had rushed at Katsu from the safety of its cover at a dead sprint, crossing a hundred yards faster than it took to blink. Indeed Katsu was surprised by the ferocity and speed of the creature, but he had a skill that most humans did not. Telepathy, the ability to move objects with his mind.
So while the Spinosaur's jaws snapped shut on the branch he had been standing on, the wood shattering and sending splinters cascading everywhere... there was no blood, no snap of broken bones or even the tearing of cloth to be heard or seen. For Katsu had launched himself forward in the same moment that he had seen those great jaws open wide, propelling himself forward and down the Spinosaur's throat in a single gulp! The beast stopped, a look of surprise and alarm crossing it's face for just a tiny moment before a finger thin blade of solidified air severed its spine, another moment before that thin blade revolved in a sudden circle, severing the entire Spinosaur's head.
Coughing and sputtering, covered in blood and saliva, Katsu extricated himself from the dead beast. Trying to wipe the mess off of his clothing futilely, he mumbled, “Well that was an interesting experience. I don't think I'd like to repeat it though... Damn, no way these clothes will clean up anymore. Time to change I think.”
So Katsu would take out a bloodstained Hoi Poi capsule and release its contents, revealing a pristine set of clothing similar to his previous, complete with the same style labcoat and dress shoes. Katsu would strip off his clothes, telekinetically pulling the grime from his body before beginning to pull on the new clothes. Katsu was just pulling on his T-shirt when he spoke once more, “I can hear your tail swishing amongst the bushes. Anything on this planet that can kill me wouldn't need to hide in the shadows to do so, and I've no problem with those who don't mean me harm, so come out and talk, alright?”
Apparently poor Yuki had been making more noise than she thought she had in her excitement.

Speaking about a chain of events... The dinosaur's presence had been noticed rather early by Reikiko, the predator instinct making her able to catch the approaching feral aura, but as long as Yuki remained hidden she wouldn't have needed to intervene. Fortunately for her Yuki didn't seem to have any desire to get into a brawl with the dinosaur, she had been way too distracted by looking with a sparkle of childish excitement in her eyes at the spectacle the stranger had put on display. His way of eliminating the dinosaur was unorthodox, a rather stylish and elegant performance instead of the raw brutal force most warriors those days employed.
However, after the elegant elimination of the dinosaur, the man seemingly had chosen to strip out of his clothes! It was rather amusing that this action had caused an identical response from both mother and daughter. Reikiko had turned her gaze away, her cheeks flushed up lightly at the unexpected lack of decency of the stranger, while Yuki's face had turned as red as a tomato, her hands covering her eyes, occasionally peeking from amidst the upper two fingers of her hands
Nevertheless, the excitement had made her tail swish even faster, till the man spoke. The comment about her tail made Yuki's body tense for a moment, her tail making a final swish forwards as she attempted to grasp a hold of it. He had the ears of a cat! There was no mistaking it! Or maybe her excitement had merely made her too loud? After a moment of hesitation the child crawled from underneath the bushes she had been hiding at, declaring in a timid tone
"Is not true..."
The girl's words likely might had caused some confusion, but the moment the girl released the grip of her tail and turned sideways, letting it unroll to its full length the child pointed at her tail, before pointing in the direction of the man's crotch.
"Yuki is stronger... Yuki's tail is longer than Seeking Master's tail. Therefore Yuki is stronger. But Yuki doesn't like to kill..."
The scientist would likely have felt a light gust of wind brush against his back, accompanied by a second more mature voice.
"Leaving your questionable decision to strip in the wilderness aside, you are mistaken in your statement stranger. There are plenty of predators who would prowl in the shadows to learn about their prey before moving in for the kill. It's just that the one you faced just now lacked the intelligence to accompany its strength."
If he turned around he would have found Reikiko leaning back against a tree, her body slightly shrouded in the darkness of the shade. Yuki seemed to had instantly lost any attention for the stranger, her body zooming past the man as she rushed at Reikiko.
"Rei-mama!"
The bio-android's gaze shifted for a moment, a hand lowering to the child-like entity's head to pat her before turning to look back at the scientist.
"What brings you to this place stranger? This path has been known to be abandoned even by the locals who climb the mountain. In the end the dangers that lurk in those woods are ones they prefer to avoid. The secrets that dwell further inside are not theirs to uncover, and the answers found here can no longer be found in books."
She smiled briefly at the cryptic message she delivered, before her tail swished around Yuki's waist, gently picking her up and pulling her behind her back, as if to protect her.
"Nevertheless, I guess since you likely follow the etiquette of an Earthling greeting: My name is Reikiko, albeit whether it's a pleasure to meet you will depend on your intentions for wandering in the backyard of one of my relatives her home."

Confronted with a small child-like creature like Yuki, most people might have mistaken her for a human child wearing silly gloves and a cool costume. Most people would then be surprised by her coordinated direction of the tail on that costume, aiming itself at Katsu's genitalia. Not Katsu however. He was a Bio-Engineer, and he recognized a Bio-Android on sight, and that little girl was in truth not human. Well, that wasn't completely true, she was partly human, at least in the DNA, but there was plenty of other species expertly blended in as well, including Heran and Namekian, a bit of Saiyan, and something else more perhaps?
Still, the little Bio-Android did look like a little girl, and the blush on her face was so easy to make one think of her as a little girl who had seen someone naked when she shouldn't have. Katsu didn't care for modesty in the slightest, viewing it as a pointless construct of society, and didn't react to the fact that she had obviously seen him naked, negatively or positively. He merely continued to dress himself, pulling on his labcoat and fixing the collar before dusting himself off. “My tail as you call it isn't a tail. It's the opposite of your tail there, little one. You use your tail to eat, mine is for disposing of fluid waste and also for reproduction. It's called a penis, not a tail.” Katsu explained in a lecturing tone as he pulled on his socks and shoes, kneeling to tie them up properly.
The wind at his back and suddenly the creature's mother was there. Or perhaps older sister? Either way she was obviously the one who took care of the younger looking Bio-Android. Katsu stood from tying his shoes and turned to address her, “Let me rephrase, then. Anything that is strong enough to kill me would not need to hide to do so, as any creature who couldn't kill me in a straight up encounter would probably find themselves unable to get the drop on me in the first place, negating the primary benefit of stealth.” Katsu would give a grin as he answered, collecting his soiled clothes and placing them inside the capsule he had gotten his clean clothes out of, once again utilizing his telekinesis to clean off the capsules he had on his person before transferring them to his pockets.
“All of those things are why I am here. The path least walked contains yet the most secrets to be uncovered. If people fear to tread here then there is likely something of value to be found, and by what you say it is knowledge forgotten, ready to be found anew. That is exactly the kind of thing I want to find. It's always worthwhile to seek out knowledge in my opinion.” Adjusting his clothing to make sure everything was set in its proper place, Katsu leaned against the carcass of the dead Spinosaur, removing one shiny syringe from his capsules before he jabbed it into the flesh of the creature, filling it with fresh blood before capping it and replacing it within its Capsule. Another sample to be studied later.
When Reikiko would introduce herself, Katsu would do something that he didn't do very often, as in almost never...as in this was the first and probably the last time he was going to do it... but Katsu placed his left fist into his right hand in front of him and gave Reikiko a deep bow of respect in the traditional style. “I know who you are Reikiko, and the first thing I'd like to say is Thank You. Frankly if you hadn't been part of the defending forces during the Saiyan Invasion I'd not be speaking to you because I'd be dead, and there's so much more I want to do in this life. I don't know if my thanks means much, but I give it anyway...
“And Yo! My name is Katsu Yuda, Bio-Engineer under contract with the BBA. Nice to meet you Reikiko, Yuki.”

Katsu's unaffected reaction to Yuki's embarrassment amused Reikiko, in the sense that it was quite different from the type of behavior she had been used to see in humans. Still, she watched with intrigue as the man explained something to Yuki. He first went on about the opposite nature of their 'tails', and then provided a detailed explanation of its properties, although she idly wondered if she wanted her daughter to know such stuff. However, Yuki clearly seemed entirely absorbed by the lecture, gazing at the stinger on top of her tail when finally she ran over toward her mother.
"Rei-mama we have penises!"
Yuki's cheerful declaration was accompanied by Reikiko's face turning scarlet red, and one could have even sworn her crown might had gained a red tint.
"W-W-W"
She was shocked by her daughter's statement, and in the back of her mind she was sure as hell praising the fact that Kaula, Hikari or Letu had not been around to hear it. The results would have been devastating.
"What are you saying Yuki?! That's not a penis, that's a stinger!"
Yuki however seemed adamant about investigating the matter, rushing behind Reikiko to grasp her tail and look at the stinger.
"Rei-mama's is even bigger..."
This was going out of hand, if she didn't teach the child some biology of her own it was going to be an error beyond her capacity to fix.
"Will you stop comparing my stinger to a-a-a-a"
However, Yuki mused absently while looking at Katsu, or rather a specific area on Katsu.
"But he said that's used for reproduction. And didn't Yuki get made out of Rei-mama's tail?"
Someone save her... anyone... this conversation was tainting her daughter's innocent mind. Leaning down to pet the girl's head she explained in a soft tone.
"That's because I'm a Bio-android Yuki, the way our bodies work is fundamentally different than most species. Now let's change the subject shall we?"
Katsu's thanking of her involvement during the invasion came as a surprise, but a pleasant one, although the statement he worked for the Blue Banner Army made her gaze sharpen a little.
"You're more than welcome Katsu, I wouldn't wish to see any planet become enslaved by the Saiyajin Empire as long as they continue to have their twisted mentality. Still, I'm surprised a bio-engineer working for Vivi-ahem I mean Vipoi would have been given permission to come here. Were you not informed about the things that were concealed here? Then again, I'd imagine it would be difficult to convince one of your career choice to stay away from the knowledge that is buried away, so perhaps for today I shall entertain you as a guide, as long as you refrain from teaching my daughter more unnecessary things, and swear that you will not try to recreate the knowledge you discovered. It will not work, and if it by miracle does you would have turned me into an enemy, a choice best avoided."
She smiled calmly at the last bit as she walked past the man, gesturing toward a nearby path that led further into the mountains.
"Yo~ Yuki's name is Yuki, a pleasure to meet you Ka-Hakase"
It seemed Yuki had already developed an old habit of her mother...

Katsu had decided at that point that Yuki was an absolutely adorable creature, even if she did have the capacity to kill him, which was likely given the power of her mother. When she exclaimed that she had a penis, Katsu couldn't help but bring a closed hand to his mouth to keep himself from laughing. He hadn't expected Yuki to take what he had said and apply it to her own anatomy. Katsu had never really been a child himself, his fascination with all things far past the point of obsession had made him uninterested in playing sports or other child-like activities, and he had never had that level of innocence.
Giving a cough to suppress his laughter Katsu gave a shrug towards Reikiko, showing he had not meant to confuse poor Yuki, “Apologies for that Reikiko. I did not mean to confuse your daughter. I'll refrain from continuing any such...explanations. It seems clear that it'd be best if that was left to her mother...
“Although to be fair, your stinger does have the proper length and girth to ah... commit the act...” Katsu coughed again, fighting the urge to double over in laughter. He'd never teased someone, but something about Reikiko's furious blushing made him want to make her even more embarrassed.
When the conversation moved on to the topic of the Admin, Katsu was quick to correct Reikiko, “No no. I'm only under contract. I don't work for the BBA full time or anything. They're just giving me funding for a project I'm working on for them. From time to time they throw me more standard mercenary jobs as well for some extra money, but that's the extent of the relationship. I don't get any info from the BBA concerning other matters, and they can't order me to do anything I don't want to. Once I'm done with the Project I'll be a freelance Researcher once more. “ Katsu shrugged again, putting his hands in his pockets.
Eventually of course the conversation came back to their current location, and Katsu had to scratch the back of his neck in discomfort. Being offered knowledge then being told he couldn't use it was like a slap in the face to Katsu, so he set about trying to negotiate some sort of compromise, “I'm... not interested in making weapons, Reikiko. I can tell that's what you were made to be. Human adaptability on top of Heran ferocity and Namekian makes for a potent combatant... You've absorbed others as well, haven't you? There's traces that don't quite mesh properly. A bit of Saiyan perhaps, and... Well, having been looking at his DNA under a microscope for the past week...I'm pretty sure you've absorbed Walker as well. Your carapace has a similar texture to his Bark, despite being white to his black...
“Sorry, getting off track... What I mean to say is that I'm not going to use any knowledge given to me to create some sort of bloodthirsty monster, or war machine. There's plenty of those running around this galaxy in the first place. No. If you allow me to learn what can be learned here it'll be used for creating something new, something unique. I could promise to run everything I plan using that knowledge by you first, and working with you to make sure its something you can approve of, but if you don't utilize knowledge then it's a waste. Offering me knowledge then saying I can't use it is a slap in the face...”

When Katsu seemed to agree with the matter to leave the matter of teaching such things to Yuki for Reikiko to handle, the bio-android sighed a breath of relief. Unfortunately for her Katsu did seem to intent to deal a finishing blow to her embarrassment, for when he declared that the properties of her tail were more than good enough to commit a certain act Reikiko's body tensed up, to the point even her tail had flung upright to resemble a scorpion's tail, something it usually only did when she was really agitated. Who would blame her for the fact she was blushing madly right now, especially since Katsu's words reminded her of certain activities.
"Well I do need to change the chemicals in my tail for that and adjust the sharpness and shape of the stinger... I MEAN CHANGE THE SUBJECT ALREADY!"
The bio-android's shout was accompanied by a flaring of her ki, the predator-like aura likely leaving a dense pressure in the air as a subconscious intimidation when after a moment it faded as soon as it had appeared. It seemed Katsu was indeed a very peculiar man, for even if she offered him the knowledge he sought, he still intended to put it to use. Of course normally she would have objected, in fact she would have killed him if he planned to recreate the Chimera Project, but this man wanted to use the knowledge to create something new.
"I was initially created as a representation of what destiny stole from my creator: A warrior with the potential to become the strongest being in the galaxy. However, like you said the moment a certain crime syndicate got involved with the project that created me the intentions changed. Still, to think you'd notice that I absorbed Walker recently... a peculiar gift."
She paused for a moment as the path seemed to diverge into two trails, and after sniffing the air for a moment she suddenly took the left path with a surprising lack of hesitation.
"I am doubtful that you'll be able to accomplish what you desire. It is like turning a gun into a sprinkler for flowers. Not to mention if you were to come too close to the Chimera project the syndicate would surely act. Judging from your earlier movements you could likely handle a fight with their operatives, but if one of my sisters finds you... that would be another story."
They finally appeared at what appeared to be a long cliff, perhaps a dead-end? However, the bio-android walked over toward a nearby tree, a hand grasping behind the bark as suddenly the sound of mechanical gears kicked into motion and the lower side of the cliff started to slide open, revealing the entrance into a cavern.
"Yet your desire to challenge science by creating something new intrigues me, or perhaps I'm just amused at the irony of a man wanting to commit the act of a god. Then let us go inside and find the secrets that can no longer be found in books. Let us see you use this science to commit the actions that go beyond mortality."
She hummed mysteriously while Yuki turned toward Katsu with a look of confusion in her eyes.
"Ka-Hakase, Yuki is confused.... Yuki heard Ka-Hakase say he was offered knowledge but then got slapped in the face. But Rei-mama hasn't hit Ka-Hakase with a book! Else it would be like on television where Ka-Hakase is send flying into the air and people shout "HOMERUN!"
poor Yuki seemed quite mistaken with the statement, but then came the second one....
"And... If Rei-mama's tail can act, does that mean it can give a performance? Is Rei-mama's tail an actor?!"
poor Reikiko... luckily she had been too distracted navigating the corridors into the laboratory to have overheard Yuki's questions.

Yes. Katsu had definitely touched a nerve, because even as Reikiko started to explain how she in fact had used her tail for certain acts she caught herself in mid sentence, her tail rising up like it was ready to strike, and a blast of her Ki issued forth. Katsu was far sturdier than a normal human but the amount of power that Reikiko possessed was by far superior to his own, and Katsu could only hold his ground, arm up to protect his eyes from the sudden wind Reikiko's burst of Ki whipped up in a moment.
His glasses askew and his hair thoroughly mussed, Katsu could only laugh as he adjusted his glasses and got his hair to sort of look normal again, flattening it with a hand. It was certainly thrilling to tease someone as powerful as Reikiko, but Katsu was getting the feeling he was reaching Reikiko's limit, and decided that perhaps he should switch conversation tactics. A pause as Reikiko explained the circumstances of her creation, and then Katsu replied to her praise of his... gift. “My gifts are only an intense desire to learn, and an intellect somewhat capable of supporting that desire. Walker had given me a sample of his genetic structure to study before his passing, with that it's easy enough to recognize its effects on a living creature, if you know enough about Genetics...
“And I think if there is a God, that s/he approves of endeavors to create something new. I mean, I don't know about any deity personality... but if I create something, I'd want to see what it could do, see what it could create in turn. Why create something if it can only destroy? That's pointless and stupid. No, I really think if a sentient being created humanity, it'd be happy to see us striving to create something unique.” Katsu gave his grin as he spoke, following along behind Reikiko as she lead him towards the laboratory.
However the adorable Yuki had more things to ask, and Katsu knelt down on one knee in order to listen to her properly. Katsu felt it was rude not to listen to children, he had always hated it when people had ignored him when he was a child especially. However once Yuki was done with her questions Katsu could only give an apologetic shrug, “Sorry Yuki-chan, I think it might be best if you asked Rei-mama your questions about that stuff. I think she might impale me with her stinger if I accidentally confuse you again. If you want I can give you a ride on my shoulders instead, then you'd be taller than your mom without having to fly!”
If Yuki showed interest in that idea he'd pick her up and set her on his shoulders, his hands on her three-toed feet and he'd tell her, “They call this piggybacking, Yuki. Although I'm not sure why, as I am not a pig. How about you Yuki, you think you might be a piggy?”
Whether or not Yuki wanted to ride on his shoulders or not Katsu would get a bit closer to Reikiko as they continued deeper into the path leading to the laboratory. “I hope you'll forgive me for prying Reikiko but... are you... alright?”
When Reikiko would look to him or ask him for clarification, Katsu would merely point up, to the stars. “I knew Bing. Not well, but I knew him enough to recognize his aura flare and then die out in space. Even if you two weren't friends... well, I'm certain you at least respected each other's power, and then him... Well, I'm basically just asking if you're holding up with the stress. Only total monsters don't get frightened or worried, and you're far from a monster, Reikiko...”

The talk about Katsu's gift was fascinating to say the least. To be able to perceive that much simply through intelligence and the desire to learn? If she was one who sought unlimited power... then Katsu might had been searching for infinite knowledge. It made her smile briefly, yet she hummed mysteriously at the man's response about God, and the scientist his opinion about the matter. Yes, Katsu... Katsu was an interesting man. When he turned to respond to Yuki's question the child nodded her head with a look of disappointment in her eyes, yet that one faded away as soon as he offered her something
"Taller than Rei-mama? Yuki is interested! Yuki wants to become taller than Rei-mama!"
The child seemingly allowed Katsu to pick her up, letting out an excited squeal.
"Yuki is tallest! Maybe Yuki is even taller than Ooza the Oozaru! Yuki likes Ooza, Ooza with the pajamas and the blutzy bams. Yuki hears Ooza is a nice Oozaru, but there are also scary Oozaru that go BAM BAM WAAAAAAH"
The child playfully mimicked the roar of an Oozaru, her tail happily flinging back and forth behind her. However, when Katsu told her about the name, and inquired about her thoughts about it the girl shook her head firmly.
"Nu-uh, Yuki is a Bi... Bio... Bio-droid like Rei-mama! Yuki is special Bio-droid called a Chim... Chimera Spawn because Yuki is born from Rei-mama. Albeit Yuki has some pro...pro....properties that make her look a bit like a beetle.... Yuki looks like a beetle girl! A cute beetle girl! Rei-mama once appeared in a game, but they called Rei-mama 'The Beetle Queen' Rei-mama didn't like it according to Hika-nee."
They had just stopped before a large door, the bio-android pressing several keys on a keyboard that caused the lights to slowly flicker to life while she explained.
"Hikari is a dear friend of mine, you might know her as General Mint, used to serve in the Blue Banner Army and took over for a while when things went south. And yes, I totally look more elegant and graceful than a beetle."
They had just entered the room when katsu's question came, seemingly inquiring about her health. She sighed softly, closing her eyes as she spoke.
"I... I am the adopted daughter of the previous Kami, so yes I knew Bing from the time he inherited the role after my father went missing. His death has had a great impact, both on terms of the absence of a guardian, but also the emotional consequences his loss left. His death brought along the first gusts of a turbulent future. I hoped to find answers... answers he might have gotten when walking the path my father once did before him. But now? With his loss and our strongest forces being foolish enough to think that a passive reaction and training for the unavoidable consequences the unavoidable invasion of the Solar Saiyan Empire is the solution we need... I am afraid Katsu, afraid that there will be no hope for Earth when the dawn of the invasion arrives."
She sighed loudly as she pressed her hand against a switch, one that started turning on the lights. There were various machines spread around the room, some highly advanced computers, others connected to tubes filled with a liquid, and at the center the remnants of a large tube were found, the cylinder-like contraption somehow missing its entire lower-half, as if something had blow it away, the dried stains on the floor showing it had once contained something, at the very least a liquid.
"That terminal at the end of the room can still be activated. It should contain some documents surrounding the creation of the Chimera project. Unfortunately it's all just theory, the actual samples needed for the project are either long obliterated, or are already put to use. Well you could likely alter the needed samples but that would just lead to the creation of a regular bio-android... Do try not to go into the staircase behind the terminal, it leads to an underground floor. It used to be a training ground for the Chimera sister designed in the laboratory, and its facilities might still be functional, better said you might get yourself killed. I never explored the underground facility, and Keiko doesn't seem inclined to tell me if there is anything worthwhile there, so it might be best for you to refrain from doing anything crazy while my daughter is on your shoulders."
She smiled calmly at the last bit, for Yuki had seemingly started to playfully rub her hands into Katsu's hair.
"Ka-Hakase needs a crown also~ A crown like Yuki! Why? Because Ka-Hakase's hair is a mess~ Like so messy it makes Yuki want to sing."
In the jungle The mighty jungle The beetle girl sings tonight~ A woomba yay! a woomba yay!
Reikiko couldn't help but stifle a laugh as she asked curiously.
"Who taught you that song?"
Yuki seemed happy at the attention, declaring happily.
"Yuki saw it on TV! Yuki thinks Etopuuh was watching it. A big kitty was in a jungle, and a large piggy and a weird little thingie and they were singing."
and already Yuki had gone into her own little world while Reikiko commented in amusement.
"She is saying your hair is so messy it's like a jungle."

Yuki's antics were a playful counterpart to the more serious attitude and mature nature of her mother Reikiko. It made an interesting combo together, making Reikiko seem more like your average human than her genetic nature dictated. At the very least it showed to Katsu why so many people desired to create a child of their own despite the drain on their resources, the whole biological component aside. Of course there were moments that the levity a child brought were far overshadowed by the circumstances, and as Reikiko stopped for a moment to answer his question, Katsu had to think to himself about the kind of creature Reikiko was, what her life might have been like, what had gone into the reaction she had now to this situation..
A creature made to be a weapon, her reluctant creator forced by some crime syndicate to change his dream into some kind of twisted nightmare instead. So she emerges, a weapon incarnate, and gains power. She runs into things that can fight her on equal ground perhaps, things that terrify everyone else, but to her are just monsters of the week. She remains the top predator, nothing capable of throwing her from her throne at the top of the food chain. Yet the SSE grows strong, much stronger than she had ever anticipated. Now Bing has died to some creature out there in space, something that's stronger than even her. It's the first time she's come across something this much stronger than her. Perhaps its the first time she's ever felt true terror...
These thoughts flashing through his own mind Katsu took another step closer to Reikiko, placing his right hand on her left shoulder and giving a gentle squeeze. With that motion Katsu also directed a bit of ki to charge up an electrical potential in his hand which immediately discharged into Reikiko's shoulder. This electricity was special however, guided by Katsu's Ki it would seek out Reikiko's brain, specifically the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland, gently stimulating them into releasing dopamine and endorphins, the body's natural pleasure-inducing and pain-inhibiting hormones respectively. Katsu's knowledge of biology was S-Class to be sure, and despite Reikiko's altered body chemistry and physiology he WOULD be able to find the proper organs to stimulate to properly produce the desired effect. Which was to help calm Reikiko through a small jolt of pleasure. Katsu had a much more potent level of this same ability that he could produce under combat conditions, so powerful it was effective as a stunning technique, but the goal here was a gentle stimulation.
As those actions were performed Katsu also quietly injected his thoughts into Reikiko's mind, barely more than a whisper, “If it makes you feel any better, I and every human on the planet feel terrified almost constantly as a species. Even now I'm terrified. I'm standing next to one of the strongest beings in the galaxy and you could snuff out my life before I was aware you wanted to. Humans are weak compared to most other species naturally, we're constantly scared of what is going to happen...
“Yet we'll keep moving forward regardless, no matter how scared we are, because there's nothing else to do but to keep trying. We call that quality courage. I'm sure you'll find you've got plenty of that quality yourself. Keep moving forward no matter how bleak and hopeless it seems, you'd be surprised how many times these sort of events have played out in human history before, and we're still here.”
The moment passed in a flash, and Katsu took his hand away from Reikiko's shoulder as he took a few steps into the laboratory. Turning back to Reikiko for a moment he'd apologize audibly, “Sorry for invading your privacy... it just seemed like something you don't want Yuki to have to think about at this point in her life.
“I am curious though. What question are you looking to have answered? I may not know the answer, but I may know a better way to look for that answer. That's what us scientists are for, you know.” Katsu gave a grin, heading into the room and over towards the various machines, inspecting each one in turn. He easily recognized most of the machines in the room, albeit some were a bit more advanced than the ones he had at his own home. Crime Syndicate money made for excellent equipment, no doubt.
Slowly approaching the computer terminal Katsu pulled out a number of capsules, throwing them in every direction and pressing the buttons telekinetically as they flew. Half a dozen bursts of releasing capsules and several new machines had been added to the room. To Reikiko they would be all very similar in appearance, being various sensors installed on mobile platforms. As soon as they emerged from their capsules they would engage their flight systems, stabilizing themselves before floating around the room, seemingly scanning everything with a lime green light at random, although no less than three of the scannerbots stopped at the dried fluid littering the floor around the main containment capsule, casting their green light across the stain.
Just as Katsu was about to step up to the computer terminal Yuki would begin her song as she tussled his fair into an even messier situation. Katsu chuckled as she sang, but had to interject when Reikiko wanted to tease him, “Hey it's not my fault my hair's a mess Ms Creates-a-windstorm-when-she-gets-flustered. Besides, no matter the condition of my hair I am fabulous!” Katsu exclaimed at the end, putting hands on hips and turning his head to the side in mock outrage at Reikiko's insinuations that he was not fabulous.
Of course with Yuki still on his shoulders continuing to sing and mess with his hair the whole effect was completely spoiled and looked more ridiculous than anything else. Katsu held his posture for a long moment before started laughing, grabbing Yuki's hips and lifting her off his shoulders, setting her down carefully. “Alright no more messing with Ka-Hakase's jungle hair, if it gets much worse I'm gonna start finding lions and tigers and bears living in it.” Katsu would then tussle Yuki's head carapace as if it was hair, performing the same technique he had performed on Reikiko earlier.
Turning back to the terminal Katsu would begin tapping away at the keyboard while still chuckling, his fingers flying across the keys as more and more information began to pop up on the screen, at the same time two of the scannerbots would approach him and settle to the floor, holographic displays reaching into the air to display their findings to the Mad Scientist.

It was to be expected that Reikiko had been distracted currently. Aside from walking in the laboratory where her absorbed sister had once walked, the bio-android her thoughts were also slightly occupied with the earlier question. What would they do if the didn't obtain an absorb by the time the Solar Saiyan Empire invaded? Surely they wouldn't be strong enough to retaliate, especially not if they allowed the empire to gain more power due to the passive approach Vipoi insisted on taking. In fact she had been so consumed by her thoughts and ominous predictions that she had not noticed Katsu's approach, for if she did the hand that had gently rested on her shoulder would have likely never reached her.
A soft gasp escaped her lips, a surprised sound as the electricity coursed through her body. Although her body was different than most, she could still feel something like pleasure. A long pleased sigh escaped her lips as her body clearly relaxed, the tension fading from her body for a moment and her tail wagging lightly behind her like that of a puppy that was being petted. It almost felt like her body was being allowed to slowly sink into the warm embrace of a hot spring, its water making every muscle in her body relax, and almost subconsciously she found her carapace retracting slightly, the covering over her arms and shoulders seemingly disappearing to show a soft human-like skin... but then it happened. Her body's defensive systems triggered themselves, and while the scales swiftly started to cover her body again, this time in a panic starting to cover her entire body like a suit of armor the bio-android let out a soft screech.
"Kyaah!"
The sound was accompanied by a violent swing of her tail, Yuki having fortunately been swift enough to jump off the man's shoulders, her wings beating lightly as the swing came with one that had come with little to no restrain, and fortunately for the scientist was reaching him with only the flank. Yet the force of it would likely had been enough to send him crashing into a wall.
"OFFSIDE!"
Yuki smiled playfully, unaware of the situation as she landed on the ground
"Well, Yuki thinks that if Rei-mama uses Ka-hakase as a ball she has to remain within the field... the wall is outside the field, isn't it?"
Yuki's exclamation caused Reikiko to huff loudly. Her tail slowly swinging back into place the bio-android's breathing was swift and ragged, her cheeks having turned a crimson red color once more.
"N-Never use that against me again. I know your intentions were pure b-but... I swing the other way and THAT type of feeling is not one I want to associate with a man."
She pouted in annoyance as she walked over toward Katsu, seemingly to help him up again while she mumbled softly.
"To think that I of all people would become the victim of sexual harassment..."
However Yuki was already back off into her own little world, peering at her reflection inside the glass of a tube, while Reikiko answered his earlier question in a rather serious tone.
"Unfortunately my questions have less to do with science and more with... morality and spirituality I guess? I am searching for something, and believe that only obtaining godhood would allow me to find it. However, what creates such a perfect being? What makes someone a god? What does it mean to be Kami?"
She sighed softly, finally allowing her lips to curve back into a smile, yet when she saw Katsu raise his hand to Yuki in a familiar gesture Reikiko's hand was suddenly raised in a warning gesture, and judging from the fact the palm of her hand was aligned with his head said enough.
"If you dare to use the same technique on my daughter I swear I will knock your lights out, find a costume of a certain bear to dress you up in, and then tie you up in a kindergarden..."
And judging from the threatening tone of her voice she wasn't joking.
"Yuki thinks Ka-Hakase would be a fabulous teddy-bear! Can Yuki keep him?"
However, in response to those words Reikiko gave her a curt.
"No."
The child's pleading look at her made Reikiko already know what she had to expect.
"Pretty please?"
Still, the bio-android replied sharply.
"No."
the poor Yuki dropped her shoulders in defeat, turning to look at Katsu with a teary-eyed look.
"Yuki will visit Ka-Kuma at the kindergarden! Yuki promises! Yuki would make pinkie-promise but Yuki has no pinkie..."
the bio-android sighed softly, a brief smile on her lips as she dropped her hand and turned away from the silly duo.
"You're almost as peculiar as my father and Zexama used to be..."

While Yuki might not have been aware of what had happened immediately, it would soon become aware that Katsu had been thoroughly damaged by Reikiko's strike. Reikiko after all had struck Katsu with her unrestrained strength, and even though she had only dealt him a glancing blow the power and speed of her appendage was much much MUCH greater than something Katsu could withstand at that point.
Katsu was thus more than sent flying towards a wall, he was sent flying INTO said wall with enough force to shatter concrete, snap reinforced steel girders like a toothpick, and punch craters a hundred feet wide into the dirt. Katsu was indeed a pretty sturdy individual if you compared him to a normal human of the day, but he was not made of concrete, steel girders, or tons upon tons of dirt and earth. The sickening crack of bones breaking could have been immediately heard as soon as Reikiko's tail had struck Katsu's torso, and the instant it took for Katsu to register the fact that he had been hit he was already slamming left shoulder and head first into the wall. The force of the strike sent Katsu unwillingly burrowing into the ultra-reinforced stone of the laboratory wall, sinking nearly three full meters into the material before he finally stopped. The wall spiderwebbed from Katsu's point of entry all the way to the ceiling, chips and pieces of the wall coming away to clatter to the floor in a cloud of dust.
A moment of relative silence, then a great piece of the wall broke free, falling to the ground and bouncing twice before leaning up against one of the machines in the room. From within the wall there was no sound for a few dozen moments later, then a blast of telekinetic force widened the hole that Katsu had dug in the wall, this time sending reinforced stone flying away from the entry point, clearing the floor below. Katsu's right hand appeared from hole, grabbing the edge, and pulling himself forward Katsu extricated himself from the wall.
Of course after an impact like that Katsu was in very bad shape. As soon as his head came into view it'd be clear he had suffered a head wound, blood poured down the left side of his face, dripping from his chin. His eyes were completely unable to focus, Katsu moving more with touch than anything else as he continued to drag himself forward. Once his shoulders were clear of the wall Reikiko and Yuki would see his left arm was a mangle, obviously broken in a couple places by the angle his arm was in. Arms were not supposed to be able to make the shape of the letter “S”, after all. Reaching halfway out of the wall Katsu couldn't move any farther and fell forward, rolling onto his back, his left arm swinging with the arc of his fall and smacking against the ground. Letting loose a scream of intense pain Katsu began to roll and writhe on the floor in the pain, still screaming one single long note of pain that was only interrupted when Katsu suddenly began coughing up a bit of his own blood, clogging his airway long enough to silence his scream.
Focusing on breathing properly Katsu managed to vomit up the rest of the blood his body wanted to and finally came to a rest on his, his left arm cradled against his chest as he gasped for air. Obvious tears from the pain had fallen down his cheeks, leaving a line of clear skin between his blood covered cheek. Finally Katsu seemed capable of focusing his eyes, and he very gingerly moved himself from a prone position into sitting against the wall he had flown into, his right arm moving to test his torso, Katsu grimacing when it touched against three different spots on the right side of his ribcage. Katsu finally spoke after he dug into his left hand pocket with his right arm, carefully pulling out a remarkably undamaged capsule (Capsule Corp products were the real deal) and pressing the button, revealing a modernized Medikit, which Katsu began to telekinetically pull supplies from, including a small spiderlike droid of some kind that Katsu... put in his mouth.
With the little droid in his mouth Katsu grabbed a datapad from the Medikit, turning it on to see the interior of his own mouth, then his throat as the little spider droid actively pulled itself deeper into Katsu's body, actually visible from the outside as a bulge in his throat as it sunk into his chest. The screen view would show it was entering his lungs, choosing the right lung as if it knew where the damage was. If Reikiko continued to look at that point the little spider droid would reach the interior of the lung, a noticeable hole in the right side, a bit of white sticking through. Katsu's ribcage had pierced his right lung. Noting the positioning the little droid revealed another device from within its tiny body, something that looked similar to a cannon. A countdown appeared on the screen, three two one, and Katsu coughed and grunted in pain as the little cannon shot a light at the bone, moving it away from Katsu's lung. When the bone wasn't in view any longer the cannon stopped and went back into the small droid's chassis, another tool popping out to begin suturing up the wound with stitches.
By that time Reikiko would be able to notice something, Katsu was pressing buttons and making motions against the screen of the datapad in time with the motions of the droid. Katsu was controlling the little droid! With as much damage as he had just suffered, Katsu was taking the steps to repair himself. If left alone Katsu would finish up suturing the wound and clearing out the blood (by vomiting it up after being moved out by the droid) before the little droid would reverse direction and eventually pop out of Katsu's mouth.
Katsu took a slightly deeper breath, testing his lung, before he exhaled slowly and addressed Reikiko in a shaking voice, “See what..I m..mean?.. Absolut...solutely terrif...fying... I n-need to complete my pro...project prett-ty qwi..quickly. Ergg... I think it...s needed if I'm gonn-na be muc...much use... Shit.. you hit me h-hard, woman...”
Obviously Katsu was in no condition to much of anything that he had been planning to, much less tussle Yuki's head carapace. Katsu could only spit up another gobbet of blood to the side before he began to slowly use his telekinesis to try and get his left arm into some kind of shape that was natural for an arm to be in. He certainly had a complex fracture on his left brachium, that was going to take a while to fix if it could be fixed at all...

It was only after Katsu spoke in a shaky voice that Reikiko had calmed down enough, seemingly realizing the result of her accidental tail whip. It was clear that the scientist was in a bad state, a very bad one at that and although a part of her felt he deserved it, to make the man die would have been a punishment that was too harsh. She sighed loudly, walking over toward Katsu while her eyes focused on his injuries.
"Why do humans have to be so fragile?"
A brief glance at his body told her that he was clearly in a bad state, broken bones and internal bleeding likely only some of his troubles, but at least he didn't have any torn limps! Nevertheless, standing before the ragged body of the man the bio-android's eyes narrowed a little.
"Don't move, if you value what remains of your health that is."
Hopefully Katsu would have followed her suggestion to remain motionless, for Reikiko's tail slowly swished upwards, this time with the stinger pointing toward Katsu's chest. Her tail moved slowly as she leaned forwards, her three-fingered hand trying to pull away the coat that was covering the part that had been between his shoulder and neck while she spoke in a eerily calm tone.
"I'm not going to devour you, but this takes some effort and focus so if you move I might end up killing you instead of saving you."
If he didn't move by then her stinger would have caused a sting at his neck, but unlike usually it didn't start to absorb, instead it would have injected some sort of substance into his neck. Only a moment passed before she stepped away from him, a calm smile upon her lips.
"Give it a moment, you'll feel the effect soon."
Everyone knew about the existence of a senzu bean, but what people likely didn't knew was the fact Reikiko had learned to consume the bean and convert it to a substance inside her body, providing her with the ability to use its powers, and deploy it onto someone else in the form of a medical injection. Sure, it had its limitations, but for Katsu it would have felt as if he had just ate a senzu bean, and with his body back in its original state she walked away, leaving little Yuki to wave her hand before Katsu's face.
"Yuki wonders if Ka-Hakase is seeing stars..."
------
Reikiko used a senzu bean on Katsu in the Rei way.

It was dreadfully hard to remain completely still when the person who just chucked you into a wall had their lethal appendage aimed at your neck, because there was always that shaking in absolute fear thing going on in such a situation. Katsu however tried the best he could, sweating bullets from equal parts pain and instinctual fear for his life the entire time. The sting on his neck was a drop in the swimming pool of the pain he was dealing with, but the sudden effect of the substance Reikiko injected him with eased all of it quickly.
Skipping the boring details of Katsu's injuries healing would stagger to his feet, still woozy, just after Yuki waved her hand in his face, “I am actually, Yuki....big fiery explosions of light and heat in every corner of my vision... Whew, definitely going to...uh... what was I saying..?” Katsu shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. He'd been knocked for a loop and even with the Senzu bean treatment Katsu was still a bit out of it.
Which led to his next question. “Good lord, I've heard of women who were vehement in their sexuality but I think you take it a bit too far if you clock guys through walls for simply touching your shoulder...” Assuming that little quip didn't get him thrown into another wall, Katsu would return to his original plan of looking through the room, setting free his scannerbots and heading over to the computer terminal, starting to look through everything once again.
“Oh right I forgot.. I indeed don't know who could give you the answer to that question, but I've a possible lead. You see the Namekians have all been dead for quite a while, right? Well since that's the case, if there is any kind of afterlife, and any kind of God, perhaps they'd be the ones to ask, right? I'm sure at least one of them would have met with whoever ran the afterlife, should it exist...”
Shaking his head once again, squinting a moment before he rubbed his eyes, apparently clearing them, Katsu continued to dig into the files that had been put at his disposal, getting everything he could into order.
