Name: Puery
Alias: None(yet)
Species: Zoanthrope
Age: 16
Starting Planet: Earth
Appearance:
Puery is a brown and white furred fox-zoanthrope. Though someone, somewhere, along her family line introduced another zoa species into their family's gene pool, which manifest in her as small, sharp horns that extend about an inch and a half in length-wise from above the base of her forehead while being half an inch long in width. Aside from that small oddity, she looks like a standard upright fox, with the fur on her head overgrown and styled to lie from back to front, almost completely hiding her horns in short bangs so that only the sharp tips peek out. She stands at 5'6 and is still built to walk on all four easily, her hands are like a human's save for the small pads along her fingers and palm.
She commonly wears a plain yellow, sleeveless shirt, light brown pants. and black shoes.
History:
Puery came from a rather large family, in a small community almost completely made up of fox-zoanthropes, and lived a rather simple life in comparison to the rest of the world. They were majorly made up of farmers, but there was also a small minority that concentrated on scholarly studies and martial arts. The scholars lived within a large building on their own, living almost like monks. There was precious little to do beyond working, studying, and training thanks to being mostly isolated from the rest of the world so that's what their lives consisted of.
Despite having a largely homogeneous population, they weren't unfriendly to strangers. People simply came and went, so not many outsiders saw the appeal to this kind of life to stay longer than a few weeks. Puery was content. She could always find something to do to keep herself busy when needed, everyone knew everyone else by name and their small habits, there was always training to be done and exploring if need be; if there was anything outside of her community she wanted to do it was study in the turtle school. Mainly because it was the first of the two schools she heard of.
Just like how strangers weren't comfortable with the simple fox folk's lifestyle, a lot of them weren't too comfortable with the rest of the world. They were a close-knit family when people left they nearly always came back, and even when secrets were hard to keep it's not as though everyone shunned you unless you were hiding something hugely offensive or life-threatening. At which point it was more of a matter of calling the police than social Etiquette. It was home; warm, inviting, and familiar.
In the war of Vegeta vs Earth the small community was forced to defend themselves when two saiyans landed in the midsts of them. Puery doesn't know why they were there; their pods could have malfunctioned and landed them off course or they may have just seen them and decided to have a little fun before moving on. Why they were there didn't matter, in the end. The simple people and their scholars took up whatever tools could be useful as weapons and watched helplessly as their most proficient defenders were killed offhandedly with visible contempt, along with anyone who tried to run away too late.
It was a slaughter before they even turned into great apes as they toyed with the small community that had no choice but to fight, and when they did transform everything was decimated before the Saiyans made their way to the cities. Puery was one of the few survivors by sheer luck, if you could call it that. She was found half dead among the wreckage by the less-severely injured who managed to hide, now she lives on the Western Frontier in Ginger Town with her 5 remaining older relatives.
They're all trying to live with the losses brought onto them by the war, but it's left deeply bitter scars in all of them. Their hostility towards strangers varies, but they are especially distrustful and hostile towards Saiyans. Puery is still casual and friendly towards most species but wants nothing to do with Saiyans in any way. What she strives for is to be stronger than any Saiyan that she'll ever have to face, but more importantly, she needs to be stronger than any threat that comes near what's left her family. Because of that desire, she trains whenever she isn't helping out around the house and she's preparing to leave to train within the turtle school as soon as possible.
One important thing of note, only one of her current "relatives" is actually related to her, an older brother known as Hibiscus; the others were close friends of the family that lived in her parent's household as "servants", to free up the actual the family for their training in return for a protected homestead and large amounts of land. The invasion was a serious blow to the siblings' pride, as they failed one of the few tasks that was required of them.
