(I have received permission to have the character Ayumu say a specific line in this post) (Thread PL: 5,340)
The dark shadows of the Bamboo Forest loomed over Celmaru Waterfield. The green leaves of the trees blocked out numerous amounts of sunlight, only allowing tiny shreds of light to touch the forest's floor. The cries and sounds of all kinds surrounded Celmaru, confirming the abundance of life all around him. The crunching and snaps of the twigs below Celmaru's feet echoed into the darkness of the forest, periodically making a short moment of silence.
"Are animals that scared of me...?" Celmaru thought after another moment of silence.
Celmaru continued to trudge through the foliage, trying to find somewhere to train once again. Initially, Celmaru believed that the Bamboo Forest was a great place to train, with trees enveloping the entire region. Unfortunately, the trees that grew in the area happened to be mostly fully grown, yet very close together.
"Grgh..." Celmaru grunted, sidling between two trees.
"Isn't there at least one clearing in this forested region!?" Celmaru thought, becoming annoyed, "There's barely any space around here to train freely..."
As Celmaru continued to carefully step his way through the forest, he briefly saw a large opening in the trees, an abundance of light was shining through the opening. A clearing has been found.
"Ah!" Celmaru thought happily, "A clearing! Finally."
Celmaru squeezed between three oddly close trees and entered the clearing, although he saw something he never expected to see inside a forest.
An elderly man stood in the clearing....behind a stall that was filled with food. The older man himself was surprisingly fit, his muscles were prominent and looked very healthy. He looked to be in well into his seventies, with wrinkles etched into his face. The man's hair was steel gray, and his mustache was plenty stylish for someone like him. The elder stood silently, as if he was waiting for something, or even someone. Some of the animals were giving him attention, likely to gain a meal themselves. Celmaru stood in his place, utterly surprised. He never expected an older man to be in a presumably dangerous forest like this.....and with a food stall at that.
"Uh..." Celmaru started, "...What are you...uhm...doing here, sir?"
The man simply smiled and said, "I'm just waiting to feed those who are hungry."
Celmaru stood there, dumbfounded at his response.
"Wha-?" Celmaru said, still dumbfounded, "This isn't exactly a place for business, sir. I'd recommend that you'd leave soon, supposedly there are monsters in this forest."
As Celmaru finished his sentence, his stomach abruptly growled, embarrassing Celmaru greatly.

As he stood there in the forest, having known that he moved for hours upon hours to travel through the world, simply giving his body some rest. Ayumu would know rather well that he should not play around at all, setting up his stall while noticing the small animals and plant life starting to react to both him and Hana. Hana the plant like sphere that laid in the back of the stall soon started to tremble slightly before letting out a roar like yawn, scaring off the animals for a moment before with a soft floating movement, leaving a soft trail of flowers around the stall. Constantly bringing forth the concept of violence in his mind, he would reach down one of the bowls of salad that he had prepared for customers while patting the small wildlife that had gotten rather close.
"Ayumu, You should be carefull, you can hear it right?"
The plant like figure spoke, the hair that grows on her scalp having a strange golden attitude while it hangs downwards, nearly touching her behind as her blue eyes, with a green inner circle scan over the nearby area.
"If this person had even one doubt in his mind that we would be attacking him, he would have striked us down right the instant you took notice of him"
Before straightening his back, Ayumu simply took his cane, a strange embedded logo left on the top part which was covered up by his hand before starting to walk into the stall.
"You do not require that, i told you this before, you can walk just fine"
"People do not have to know that somebody as old as me without using whatever little power i lend from you can walk normally"
Untill it happened, the figure landed infront of him, Hana simply sitting ontop of the stand as for the split moment he appears a light covers her and forms a simple white dress, hanging down to her knees while a sunhat covers her head, laying down ontop of the building while her sharp ears continue to listen carefully.
"I am just waiting to feed those who are hungry"
A typical response the two thought to themselves, this is what they started to be known for in this world, as people who were willing to feed others and treat them even when they commited the most foul of acts.
"If you were as much a cook as a saiyan, would you give up a fight while your pride is on the line?, My pride as a cook simply would not allow me to leave those who require a meal to lay in a ditch and starve"
His kind smile soon turning into a smile that was self blaming. The smile of a kind hearted old man who had his heart wronged over and over again, having faced hell and back and still, not blessed by the potential that all other races had. Being tormented with the ability to never gain power from pain like a saiyan, to never regenerate what he lost like a namekian. He was just human, and he knew this, yet he continued to struggle, as such details were hidden behind his facade, Hana simply speaking up loudly.
"Hey, Stop standing there, blushing at something as silly as your rumbling stomach, simply sit down and eat a meal, afterwards you can surely train both your blast techniques and flying by using these thick trees to manuevre right?, As such a mighty creature like you should have already known of such a simple training method"
"So you do listen to my tips, hana?"
"Shut up Ayumu! You are not in any position to talk back to me! Now just make me some meatbuns! Please!"
Swinging via her hand gripping the side of the stall into the coverings onto one of the shove out chairs that are embedded unto the bar, shows you simply how compact it is, allowing for a quick push in storage system, but hey, who is there to refuse a simple meal? You even have the choice to ask for anything you want! But would you realize the tip she has given you, to train in this forest?

Hearing the initially rude comment of the creature known as "Hana", Celmaru felt a pang of irritation. But it was right, Celmaru did desire a meal. But he felt a need to answer the man's question first.
"I'm different than those of my race," Celmaru started, "and at the same time, I'm just the same."
Celmaru cautiously walked forward, keeping his area of sight towards the feminine creature atop the stall, who of which was moving onto a previously compacted chair. This supposed "Ayumu" seemed to be friendly enough, but this "Hana" didn't seem as friendly.
"Something's off about her..." Celmaru thought, "...or it."
Celmaru took a seat furthest from Hana, allowing himself some rest. He then continued answering Ayumu's question.
"In that sense, its complicated." Celmaru said, "But in reality, its a simple matter of star-crossed beings, one a Saiyan, another a mere Human."
Celmaru rested his arms on the stall's counter, looking down at them.
"I'm one of a mixed race," Celmaru muttered, "Half-Saiyan, Half-Human. With the power of one, and the potential of the other."
Celmaru sighed, he knew that this elderly man would be repulsed by him, knowing his true race....or half of it.
"So my Pride isn't as prominent in me as it would my Father." Celmaru said, "And it only overcomes me when I'm angry, losing an important fight, or even threatened."
Celmaru continued to avoid Hana's gaze, still feeling uncomfortable being near it.
"But if my Pride was threatened, and I had a choice to end the fight..." Celmaru said, thinking of possible circumstances, "I'm sure I'd be no different than any other Saiyan. Fight until you fall, as my Father would say."
Finally answering Ayumu's first question, Celmaru sat there in silence, preparing another answer.
"I've trained using trees before, and as well as I could, typically as a punching bag." Celmaru said, wondering what else Ayumu could've meant, "Also, I believe that my flying capability will have to improve...." Celmaru looked back at the trees, "....somewhere less dense. I also don't want to destroy my homeworld just to train with an explosive blast technique....but I guess that's just me. I've seen craters all around, in all kinds of sizes and depths."
Celmaru sat there, somewhat sheepish. Celmaru wondered if Ayumu also made craters using any of his techniques as well, making Celmaru seem less confident in limiting his training to less destructive means.
Celmaru's stomach growled again, louder this time. "...Uh...Do you have any meat? Like a slab of pork, or steak? I'm...er....really hungry, as I'm sure you've heard...."
Scratching the back of his head in slight embarrassment, Celmaru looked up at Ayumu, and he saw something in his eyes, something....sad, wronged. Ayumu's eyes looked vastly different than Celmaru's; his eyes held a small, fierce flame inside them, as a normal full-blooded Saiyan would. Ayumu's looked aged, saddened, and worn down, as if Ayumu lived for centuries filled with sorrow and regret.
Celmaru suddenly felt bad for the elder, like he had to cheer him up in some way.
"But then..." Celmaru thought, "There's her...or it, er...whatever it is."
Celmaru looked over at Hana. She was impatiently waiting for her meatbuns, and didn't look happy about waiting. Celmaru leaned in towards Ayumu, briefly forgetting the man's potential inner sorrow, and asked him about Hana. Celmaru was always told to respect his elders, and didn't want to fail his upbringing now.
"Uhm...sir, what exactly is she?" Celmaru asked, quizzically, "...Or it? Hana, I mean....if you don't mind me asking, that is."

Simply listening to the person, Ayumu would start to heat up his tools. Bringing multiple ingredients onto the plate of stone that was used to cook, you saw him handle multiple complex ingredients with a single plate, constantly using his hands and even raw sand to keep the heat intact before nodding and listening softly.
"You see, i do not see either a saiyan or a human you know?"
Flipping over the piece of meat, as soft sparkles of light from the fat covered the surroundings, the skillfull flip keeping every single droplet of fat on his side while he shoved the bowl of meatbuns towards Hana, Sticking a knife into the meat and starting to slice into it, spreading herbs over it. The meatbuns easily able to be counted as insane in their mere size, easily spilling out of a person their hand.
"You are not what your race wants you to be you know? What i see infront of me is a hungry kid who tries his best to become stronger and one day ascend to the ranks of the legendary super saiyans and legends combined"
Lifting a large stone plate towards him, it was obvious that the plates were improvised by cutting up nearby boulders, yet they held a strange homely feel, functioning perfectly as massive bowls. The meat starting to waft upwards, as you could smell the wild herbs that plagued the mind constantly in nature, what humans described as the smell of nature starting to mingle in together. Bringing the scent of a small family on the farming lands, a combination of the smell of home and a smell of safety. The food bringing over a message as even sticking your fork into the meal would soon create a gushing sound, the juice and blood in the meat starting to mingle as the herbs on the bottom of the mead slowly started to rise up like small rose like petals, creating a soup like extract while retaining this mysterious juicy flesh like taste to the meat, easily melting upon touching your tongue.
"You can tell him, i am eating!"
The woman spoke, stuffing her face with the dumplings, making Ayumu simply start to smile kindly.
"Consider this person a benefactor, constantly draining my ki while trying to protect me as she has to obtain that to sustain herself"
Obviously hiding some details, as he had a pained grin, Simply going through his herbs, making sure that they were all in order.
"He doesn't consider me a curse, but technically i am what you guys may consider making a pact with the devil, i sustain on his energy and constantly he will be ravaged with pain and memories that he would rather forget, a disgus-"
But before she could finish this self depracating sentence, you could feel a killing intent not supported by anything called powerlevel, no, This killing intent was a chilling wave of a line one should not cross. His eyes locking with hana as he simply spoke, veins appearing on his hands.
"As a man, i do not consider myself human, i do not consider this boy here something as trivial by the name of a species, In my eyes we are all alike and deserve to be treated the same, it does, NOT matter what you may cause to me, but i am willing to put my life in the hands of the two of you"
Before turning towards you and simply asking.
"How does it taste?"

While Celmaru was scarfing down his meal, he heard Ayumu speak of Hana and himself. While feeling relief that he didn't despise him for being half of an "Elite" warrior race, his tension returned when he heard the given details about Hana. Celmaru nearly choked,
"Benefactor!?" Celmaru exclaimed, "What benefactor drains you of your life energy?! Your ki!"
Celmaru was concerned for the elder, seeing Ayumu's clearly pained expression, and felt that Hana was the epitome of a curse. Celmaru's soft blue aura flashed, flickering around him like a fierce, roaring flame, different than his usual aura. Celmaru jumped out of his seat, preparing for a fight. Celmaru knew something was off about her, but this wasn't what he'd initially thought.
"Why do you let 'her' do this to you?!" Celmaru yelled, "I can't believe that you don't consider her a curse! If you run dry on ki energy, you'll die!"
The stone plate started to shake slightly, reacting to Celmaru's power output. Celmaru's cape was floating straight upward, fluttering along with his aura.
"Hana! What gives you the right to drain this elder of his ki?!" Celmaru yelled, a vein sprouting on his right temple, "Ayumu has no reason to be a food supply for you! Can't you find another source!?"
"Like that blasted Arcosian...." Celmaru thought, his aura still raging around him.

Simply waiting for you to finish speaking, the woman like figure before you aims her head downwards while biting her lips, a furious cyclone of emotions travelling through her body as she simply wants to speak up but soon the man behind the bar, Ayumu starts to speak up.
"I wish it was that easy, Let me inform you about the situation to help you realize why not only i, but also this figure here were forced to do such a drastic measure..."
Placing a small object on the table infront of you, you could see a small logo of a flower ontop of a book.
"My family insignia, or as i would say over 400 years ago, my entire lineage has been eradicated like a simple pest because i was a creature with a mere powerlevel of one, nothing more."
Reaching out his hand, while showing you that he was incapable of raising his powerlevel any higher, his muscles slightly starting to expand as a common move learned by human fighters, but instead you felt the power inside of Hana starting to increase rather rapidly untill he started to retract this surge of power.
"Hunters, Yet as i refused to go down when stranded on a small human consuming planet i had to learn how to survive in that small area via anyway possible. Its how i met Hana and how i found myself in the ranks of fighting against the immense will of her brother so to say, The two of them controlling a massive sphere of influence, a gravity well like planet consuming any visitors"
Using a bit of his blood on one of the stone plates, from biting the tip of his finger, to give you images to represent the situation. Only to make you realize how accepting he was of this curse, something inside of him being hidden.
"Hana is not only draining my ki to keep herself intact, alive and such"
His hands starting to waver over to a bandaid, covering up the tip of his hand while pulling out a small cup of stone, showing you beautifull inscriptions of small animals, showing you the care that went into this.
"Imagine if i sealed off this cup and it could only hold a single unit of energy, lets just say it can hold a powerlevel of one. Now, what would happen to this cup when this powerlevel is forcibly raised by hours upon hours of training your will to not die by having a plant violate you innards and making you suffer every second? The moment this comrade of mine that you called a curse stops draining me is the moment my body starts to degenerate into a old man and the power makes every single nerve in my body explode outwards."
He wasn't accepting of it, that wasn't it at all, he was just somebody who learned to live with it, who learned that if he were to ever stop supplying energy to this creature called Hana, he would die a death more painfull than having your insides seared, having every single nerve split open slowly from the ki blasting back into your body... Yet he still showed a kind smile while speaking softly.
"I only want to bring back my grandchildren and children you know?, I once had a daughter... a grand daughter, i saw them grow up, i knew them since they were only so big!"
Taking out one of the plates that fitted inside of your hands easily, before putting it away again, checking if your meal was finished and placing down a second prepared cut.
"But i would not rest untill this act of god has been stopped, untill i am able to honestly tell myself that i have made things right. I just wish to be able to see my grandchildren get married, see my children grow old and die on their own terms... Is it really that bad of me to beg to this lady you called a curse to simply allow me a chance to live longer to even attempt to bring forwards a single, miniscule chance to be able to face of against every single powerfull being in the galaxy to bring them back?"
His moist eyes staring at you, the single emotion in his heart was not greed, it was not a hunger for power which would drive people to curses. Possibly the only reason this woman that you called this way was acting so kindly was that she was too, struck by the man his goal, wanting to assist him in such a strange method. How common was it that the single method of assistance is something that you never wanted? For warriors, protectors, anybody it was quite common, with the old man wiping away the moisture collecting in his eyes while softly speaking.
"I think there is a leak in the roof, excuse me if you can feel droplets going down your hair or face okay?"
Yet from a single look above you could easily hear the sniffling and the man covering his eyes under a strawhat passed by the woman. Big droplets falling down to the ground while simply cooking for you and her, constantly trying to do his best even for somebody who was as unknown to him, yet as trusted as a close friend like you.

Celmaru's aura faded quickly after hearing Ayumu's story. He could only stand there, in shock.
"H- ... Wha- ...." Celmaru stammered. He couldn't bring himself to say a thing after what Ayumu just told him.
Celmaru slowly returned to his seat, unknowing about what to say next, if anything. The fact that Ayumu is 400+ years old alone is surprising, the fact that he willingly let Hana drain energy from him was surprising. This man had more to him than Celmaru could've ever initially believed. Celmaru looked at Hana, but felt not anger....but melancholy. Because of her, Ayumu was here, under the threat of....death...every day.
Celmaru's thoughts turned to "The Black Death", his threat of death. The anger that he causes Celmaru daily, threatening his home, his family...............Ayumu said his family was eradicated.
"....Dear Kami..." Celmaru thought, "He has no one, just.....Hana, the thing that's keeping him...."
Celmaru looked over at Hana again, she was still looking down. She looked so Human, but rather closer to a Demon.
"But since when did Demons sustain and be sustained off of Ki?" Celmaru thought.
And the transmission of energy from Ayumu and Hana...it was odd.
"I can't sense ki, at least not yet. I don't have a scouter either..." Celmaru continued to think, "How did I...?"
Celmaru was conflicted for multiple reasons; Ayumu's reasoning, why Hana was helpful (in a way) to him, how was his life sustained for so long, etc., etc. Finally, Celmaru decided to find some inner peace with himself concerning this problem.
"I'll help you." Celmaru said shakily, blinking rapidly, remembering Ayumu's deceased family, "I'll help you rectify your conflict....even if I have to put up with Hana!"

You could simply hear a coughing fit coming out of Hana as she turned to you with glaring eyes, cracking her fists while saying.
"Kid, What the hell did you just tell me-,Ah! No! Stop! let me go!"
The old man, Ayumu dragging her over the counter to sit in the corner, simply making her sit there for a moment while simply reaching out his hand. Not in a attack, not as a danger, but as a simple message that he wished to shake hands with this man who was as kind to even believe his true words, accepting their meaning and simply wanting to help him. Knowing of what was going to happen in the future, knowing what may be the cause of his own demise, he still accepted every single fact of this. Ayumu could simply feel his neck obstructed like a brick was stuck inside his windpipe, unable to voice the words, containing the tears that he had shed along with a quick wipe he would then speak. His voice hoarse, making you realize how weak he looked when relaxed.
"Thank you"
Was all Ayumu spoke towards you while simply leaning onto the back wall of the stand as his breathing was ragged, making you instantly realize that the colouration under his eyes was weird, almost as if he had not slept for multiple days. Constantly on the run and constantly moving around, his muscles were visibly crying out as they tensed rather painfully. But it wasn't the sight of his misery that made this picture, instead it was the sight of an old man who had found himself some true rest in the hands of somebody he believed in. Knowing that he was not alone on his journey, knowing that every single day he would not have to worry about looking after his own back every second. A soft smile coming across his face as soon a soft and gentle snoring would fill the room. Hana still sitting there, sneakily trying to move away while placing a cloth over the man.
(If you have more questions for hana, ask away, if not, you can end the thread here, a short and powerfull moment as their meeting seems like the best thing)

As the elder finally began to rest after what seemed like days, Celmaru felt a small smile form at his lips. Ayumu finally looked at peace. When Hana was draping a cloth over him, Celmaru felt like some questions should be answered.
"Hey, Hana." Celmaru said, hoping that Ayumu wouldn't be disturbed, "What would happen if I sent my energy into you?....You know, to give Ayumu's energy some recovery time, but only enough to reduce the drained amount to a minimal. Along with that, I feel like that feminine form of yours isn't as true as you make it to be, would you mind showing your true form?....If there even is one."
Celmaru crossed his arms, awaiting an answer from her.
(I'll wrap up the thread here after this, alright?)

Simply listening to your question, she simply hummed for a moment before starting to speak, almost like a flood as if she was waiting for a time where this old man was finally able to sleep.
"Well, You should be lucky to even consider me working together with you as i am bringing myself in danger by simply telling you this, but if you were to send your energy into me, i would not be able to controll the output of KI and feel my entire being turn back into the beast that i was, consuming your entire supply of ki within a mere moment, killing off both this old man and you along with myself in the process if i am lucky"
The young and slender arm she had stretched out towards you started to become grassy, a large demon like eye visible as her arm seemed to be some sort of multiple mouthed abomination of beyond the realms of what you could have imagined. The mere concept of this horror seemed to pull from nearby memories of anybody as it became a spiel of nightmares being tied together into one before it turned back into a singulair arm.
"I do not know how, but before i as this i was a unconscious organism working together in unison with a second organism called "Big brother" as we were both constantly supplying and taking from each other in perfect unison, yet having to plow through his memories and brain i was able to take this form by what seems to be a miracle... Do you know how it feels to be stuck in the darkness of space always consuming everything without a single break? Seeing things you start to love and want to embrace yet every time i bring myself forwards just a mere step, my 'Big Brother' steps in and slays the creature infront of me by making it throw up its own innards?"
Slamming her hand on the table, the old man slowly groaning, but still remaining asleep yet her eyes, the beautifull blue eyes with a green inner circle, started to have a red glint in the middle of the darkness.
"Do you know how it feels to have the simply gift of sentient emotions, only to have it be taken away by killing somebody i started to accept as a fath-"
Before simply stopping herself and simply looking up and sighing.
"Sorry, this ranting is of no use to me, i am who i am, and i remain who i am, You are a halfbreed with a future for greatness, i am a being of darkness who feasts upon an kind old man his energy only to extend his life for something as insane as bringing people back from the death. One day i will simply have to be slain and that is simply my life isn't it?"
Before sitting in the corner, talking to her now seems like it wont give any results right now, her own rant having struck a few precious chords, she needed time to go through it herself.
(I hope you liked it!)
