The Namekian ran through the forests her staff in hand, bouncing from tree to tree as they came into her path in a manner that could only be said to emulate the ninja's that claimed these ancient woods as their training grounds. The skies were still as black as night despite it being the middle of the day. Lusca narrowed her eyes as she pushed herself to move faster, she had to reach the epicenter of the ritual before the Eternal Dragon vanished and she lost track of the source.
If the legends were true, then the Dragon would only stay for as long as it took for whomever had summoned him to make their wish... which given the fast paced nature of humanity only gave her moments, and not one of them could she spare. She had to try and ensure that the wish was used to revive the destroyed world of New Namek, and not for some foolish pursuit such as immortality or untold wealth. She scoffed at the notion of wasting the almighty power of the Eternal Dragons for such frivolous desires, but then again humans were somewhat vapid creatures for the most part. Lusca didn't dare to dread that it had been the Saiyans who had found the power to summon forth the Dragon... if those warmongering monkey's ever managed to obtain the power to grant their desires, memories of the recent devastation they had wrought with just their own power rose fresh in her mind.
She shook her head and pressed on, racing as fast as her legs could take her. Whilst yes she could fly, she wanted to save her strength for the ascension to come. The Dragons tended to be high in the sky, even if the summoning position was low on the ground, or so the legends were said to foretell. The Namekian looked to the skies once more, witnessing the clouds slowly beginning to lighten up, her eyes widening in dread. The wish was being uttered as she ran, and she did not know how much further she had to travel. Lusca grit her teeth before surging into the sky, the trees around her bending and whipping around from the shockwave of the sudden take-off. She looked around before spotting a nearby village, with a tower at its centre that reached up towards the skies and beyond. As her eyes scanned the horizon, she could see the edges of the darkness creeping away. "That must be it." she said, racing towards the tower and aiming to just simply fly straight up it to her destination.
However, as she grew closer to the tower, a sudden fierce wind struck her and sent her plummeting to the ground. Hard. Lusca groaned as she clutched her head, muttering under her breath several words in Namekian that were not fit for children's ears. "Trying to fly up there won't work. The magic forbids anyone from cheating like that." came a voice from above her, the Namekian looking sharply to its source. It was a small child garbed in cloth and leather with tassels on the edges of their clothes. A single feather sat in a band wrapped around their forehead. "I see. Thank you." she replied before sighing and standing up, dusting herself off before looking to the pillar. "Then I'll just need to climb it as swiftly as possible." she mused, the lightening sky already telling her she was too late to intervene with the Wish, but now something else was pushing her.
This pillar sought to stop her from ascending, and now she wanted to know what was at its peak. If she could not fly up, then she would simply climb it. Her eyes travelled up as far as she could see before she smirked. She wrapped her staff to her back so that she could have both of her hands free for the challenge ahead. There was no way to measure from here how high the tower was, but it was clearly going to require an extraordinary amount of will and stamina to reach the top, let alone strength to remain stuck fast to it since she doubted the magic of this place would allow her to skim the tower with the ability to fly.
Lusca let out a slow breath before running towards the tower and jumping up, starting to begin her ascent up the tower and to whatever lay at its peak. This was a test of her will, her stamina, her strength... she would prove that she could conquer this challenge. The Namekian refused to allow a magical tower to be the better of her. As she climbed ever upwards, she briefly considered using her ability to stretch her limbs to increase her climbing speed, but put that notion aside. If the magic that surrounded this tower didn't allow for any feats of flight, then it was surely not going to allow anything else that the magic could conceive to be cheating.
As she climbed, the sun had begun to set behind her, slowly plunging the world into darkness and night. Normally she would be making herself prepared for sleep now, but with this tower's shape and her current height, there was nowhere she could go to sleep. Not unless she wanted to risk falling to her death below. She could just barely see the village below her, and when she looked up, she could still not see what lay ahead, only clouds upon clouds. Lusca grit her teeth and resumed her ascent, plunging her nails into the stone each time she felt the need to take a breather, the wind whipping around her threatening to tear her from the tower's body and throw her to the ground below.
The moon above was reaching its zenith by the time she approached what she believed to be the apex of the tower. As she fell into the pod like room, she quickly looked around but could not see any sign of any inhabitants. A dread feeling filled her stomach and she ventured a look upwards through the window she had climbed through, groaning as she saw that the tower continued to extend even further into the heavens above. "Just how high is this thing?" she asked of the thinning air, sighing before she took up residence for the remainder of the night in this chamber. She had to reason that it was a sort of waystation for those making the climb, and it made her wonder how many of these there were? Was she half way there already? Or was she only a quarter of the way up this gargantuan construct? Would there even be any more of these small abodes further up?
Lusca shook her head as she sat up against the wall for her sleep. Those thoughts would only threaten to break her... she had to continue this climb. She refused to return to the world below after having made it this far. If this was only a quarter of the way up this tower, turning back now would only prove that she was not fit for the challenge... and if she could not ascend a simple tower, then what right did she have to call herself one of the Warrior Caste of Namek? This question filled her mind as she drifted into the land of sleep.
Her sleep was soon disturbed by the first rays of the sun. Lusca shook her head from its drousiness before looking up at the tower through the window. The Namekian nodded to herself before once more resuming the ascent up the pillar, her stamina rejuvenated after the nights rest. As she climbed, she slowly found herself seeing less and less cloud cover. Just how high is this tower that even the clouds are beginning to falter? she thought to herself, not willing to speak aloud lest her breath be taken from her this high up. As she looked at how much farther she still had to climb, the Namekian oddity's eyes widened at the distant shadow of a large dome. Lusca didn't dare to look down for fear of losing her grip or something else if she were to see how high up she was from the ground below.
The one good thing she could definitely say for sure about her situation and position now was that there was no more of the biting wind trying to tear her from the tower. Bad thing was though, now there was nothing between her and the sun's beating rays as all the clouds were beneath her. As she climbed higher, she found each handhold she took, each foothold she made and stepped into, each one was slowly starting to sap more of her strength. The Namekian grit her teeth as she continued to climb, sweat dripping from her brow as she continued to climb despite the setting sun. She was almost at her goal. She was almost at the top. Lusca's eyes widened as she saw a partition between the pillar itself and the ever expanding dome above. With a final scramble and roar to motivate her body and spirit she made her way towards it, panting as she stepped up... only to see a thin red pole connecting the tower to the large structure above. She stood there, her hands resting on her knees as she fought to catch her breath, not questioning the fact that she could still breathe up here at this height at this moment. "You... are... kidding... me..." Lusca grunted before she sighed. "One... last... push..." she said to herself before she took the pole in both hands and began to shimmy up it, her legs crossed around it to provide a form of anchor.
Lusca could see that there was a ladder attached to the bottom of the red dome, and with some careful experimentation as she wasn't sure if the pillars magic against cheating was still in effect or not, she managed to stretch her arm to reach the first rung. With a tug of her body she was now perpendicular to the world below as she clung to the ladder. "Now I know how an insect feels..." the Namekian mused to herself before she began the final stretch towards the top, her mind now wondering what exactly was at the top of this massive structure that threatened to break free of the womb of the world? And more importantly, who or what would she find up here that had summoned the power of the Eternal Dragon?
