"Crimson Grenade!' he shouted as the sphere of red energy was released from his hand and launched through the air. It collude with a similar sphere of energy that had been released from a training droid across the room from him. The resulting explosion from the two blasts meeting caused the room to shake significantly. The youth had little time to worry about how well the room would hold up against this kind of abuse as another one of his training droids was attempting to attack him from behind. It's round body almost slamming into Callio's back. It might have hurt a quite a bit if Callio had noticed it approaching in time to turn himself around and catch within his hands. A grin passed across his features as he flew upward with the sphere and spun his body around, tossing the droid as he did so. He sent it flying towards a droid located below him and towards his right. He heard a loud thud as the two androids made contact and his body lowered itself to the ground. "Two down..." he muttered as spread his legs and arms apart, building up ki in every portion of his body.
There were three more of those things left in the air; and he knew the perfect technique to finish them off. Normally it would have required them to be closer to him; but not only was he charging so that he could increase the range of the attack. He was also in a space that while big enough to flight, was closed in enough for this attack to be used at a distance. "HAAAAA!" his voice echoed throughout the chamber as his aura began to leak from his body like smoke. The three remaining droids began to beep as they picked up on the amount of power that Callio was currently pumping into his body. "HAAAA!" he kept going, the smoke like aura turning into small wisps of flames. The floor beneath Callio began to crack underneath the weight of his power and his hair began to flow about due to the waves of air he was releasing. He could a go a little further with this, but only just a little. He couldn't help but feel as though he'd damage the room pretty badly if he released too much power at once.
He could feel the hidden power within himself about to escape like it typically did when Callio was pushing himself to his limits. That was his sign to let go before he did far more than just damage the room. "EXPLOSIVE WAVE!" as he shouted he released every bit of energy he had built up within his pores. The resulting release of ki reached all across the room, slamming the droids against the white walls. "HAAAA! the ki kept pouring out of Callio's body and for some reason he couldn't get it to stop. The walls began to crack and his body began to lower into the ground as the floor beneath him was damaged even further. He could hear the training droids call out in pain from over his own yelling and even still he couldn't get the overflow of power to stop escaping from his body. It wasn't until he heard one of them shatter apart that he managed to get ahold of himself. His power began to wane and the droids fell against the floor,Callio following suit shortly after them. His hands met with the ground as he kept himself up, and his hair hung over his face drenched with his sweat.
His chest moved itself up and down slowly, each breath that he took was a painful one. He had almost used up every ounce of his power in a single burst of energy, and he hadn't even meant to. Something had just came over, had consumed every inch of his body and refused to let him regain control. "Haa...haaa..." he attempted to gather himself enough to stand but his entire body felt weak, and rightfully so. You didn't just use up so much power without having some form of negative affect, "Next time...not so long..." he muttered as he turned himself around so that he was laying flat on his back. Charging for too long had to be the reason for the lost of control, it was his first time allowing his body to do something like that. Sure he had charged his Bloody Cannon before but the nature of that attack was different than his Explosive Wave. Bloody Cannon had him releasing energy out of his body and forcing it into a solid shape until he fired. The Explosive Wave kept his power inside of his body but made it so that he was building it up and keeping it just beneath the surface until he was ready to release it.
Thankful he had something in his pocket was going to be able to restore all the energy he had just poured out into the world. Callio painfully reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a small green bean. He held the bean up in the air and examined it closely. A Senzu Bean, eating one fully restored your energy and healed all your wounds. These things were powerful; and extent in Callio's future. The last Senzu Bean bearing plant had run dry shortly after the Arcosian invasion began. Being able to take just a couple of these into the future with him would have been a great help to the Z-Rebels. Too bad he had only managed to find one in his entire time here. Sucked that he was about to use it for something as trivial as this. He popped the bean into his mouth and began to chew before finally swallowing it. The moment he did, he felt all of his energy return to his body and the wounds he had suffered from fighting be restored. He lurched up from the floor and gave his ki a quick flex. "Damn those things really do work..." yes he had actually been doubting its ability to heal him, but now he knew that the legends about them were true.
Despite the damage done to the room, and mind there was quite a bit of it. He'd be able to keep going, at least when it came to training on his own. The droids had clearly taken far too much damage from his previous attack and he'd need to head into town to fix them. He could do that tomorrow though, the itch to get a bit more training done was a lot stronger now than it had been before. He couldn't help but feel like he was close to something new, and if he kept going he'd be able to get there. The half-Saiyan took a deep breath and placed himself in the center of the Gravity Chamber. He had been fighting at Times Twenty Gravity for a while now, his body hadn't grown quite as familiar with it though. He was still having trouble moving at a speed more fitting someone of his fighting style. Nothing a little bit of a rapid movement training couldn't fix right? That had at least been the plan. Something strange had begun to happen within the Gravity Chamber though, and for once Callio was pretty sure he had nothing to do with it. The very air around Callio began to grow heavy and it wasn't because of the gravity either.
His eyes widened as in front of him green sparks of energy began to appear and disappear at random intervals. If he narrowed his eyes and looked close he was pretty sure he could see the space in front of him starting to tear apart at the seams. His body tensed itself up and his mind raced to find a reason for what was going on, and it only fell upon one possible conclusion. "Time is splitting apart..." he couldn't explain why but all of this felt familiar to him, like he had seen this happen before. He took a couple of steps away from the now steady steam of green energy that was flowing into the room. "I'm not ready to go back dammit! You can't just send me here and then take me away before I can stop it!" he wasn't exactly sure who or what he was yelling at, but damnit it he was going to yell! The universe was playing some kind of sick joke on him if it thought it could take him away before he could prevent his history from happening. His body tightened even more when the flow of energy and the pressure being placed upon the room reached it's peak. Then suddenly...everything stopped and pure silence filled the room; not even the sound of the running Gravity Chamber could be heard. Callio blinked and he took a step forward, only to be blasted back by a powerful explosion of green energy.
Callio landed flat on his ass and while he had expected himself to be hurt because of the blast it was actually the opposite. He found himself feeling more alive, like his body had just been shot up with pure energy. He examined his hands and found the sparks of green energy were dancing along his skin. He was confused, and as he stood himself up slowly the confusion only grew. Whatever that energy was hadn't been here to take him away but to instead send something here. Callio stared blankly at the large odd capsule floating above the chamber floor, it had strange glowing green lights coursing throughout it. The Saiyan part of him wanted to blast the damn thing to pieces but the Human and more curious side of him wanted to know what it was. The human side won out as he approached it slowly. He made sure to keep his guard up though, he didn't want to end up getting attacked so suddenly.
He was at least a couple feet in front of capsule when it spring itself to life, Callio stopping in his tracks. The green lights on the robotic device turned itself blue and arms shot themselves free their resting place. Shortly after this a head released itself from the top of the capsule, eyes blinking and examining the area around him. What Callio now knew was an Android didn't even seem to notice him as it began to speak aloud.
"Running Diagnostic Check. there was a long pause as the android ran a series of internal tests. "All Systems Clear." it was a good thing it hadn't been damaged during the traveling process, would have made for a troublesome situation. "Time period appears to be....2803. Shortly after the events of the Saiyan Invasion, interesting." he began to look around the room attempting to figure out his exact location. "Appears I arrived at a different location than intended." it was only after he finished stating all of these things that the Android finally took notice of Callio. The robot blinked several times before it flew closer to Callio, examining the youth up and down. Callio didn't bother to move, simply because he wasn't entirely sure how to respond to this situation. "Apologies I didn't mean to startle you with my sudden appearance, Mr?" clever way to ask for someone's name.
"Callio and I wouldn't worry about it I've seen stranger things." he actually hadn't. This honestly topped the list of strangest things that Callio had experience in his life, chances were it was going to stay that for awhile.
"It would appear that I do not have any records of anyone named Callio within this time period." The android curiosity had been sparked and so it did the only thing it could do. It scanned Callio. A bright green light escaped from its eyes and washed over Callio's being; and when it was finished the android's eyes hardened. "You do not belong in this time period Callio, your presence here is releasing a very particular set of temporal energy."
"Temporal Energy?" he had never heard of anything like that before, but it was obvious that it had to deal with time. Something that android in front him seemed to know a lot about, just what the hell was this thing?
"Yes, Temporal Energy is a type of energy that is given off by time itself. It acts as times way to keep things going on track; without the energy it's likely that time itself would stop. Normally we wouldn't have to worry about these sort of things; but sometimes we get...hicks up in time. It caused the energy to act in a way that could cause damage to various periods of time."
"So basically what you're saying is I'm damaging time by being here? Isn't that fucking fantastic, not like I asked to be sent here in the first place."
"Actually Callio according to my sensors you're actually having no effect on the flow of time energy. It's quite interesting to be perfectly honest with you, and something that is going to require further study. I however must first complete the mission assigned to be the Time Patrol Captain."
There were about a million different questions Callio wanted to ask right now, but only a few of them were truly important in helping him figure things out. It was good to note that he wasn't harming the timestream by being here, perhaps that meant he was suppose to be here? "Look tin can I'm gonna need you to slow down and start explaining yourself a bit more." the awe of the situation was actually starting to leave him. "What the hell are you and what the fuck is a Time Patrol Captain." two of the most important questions he could.
If the Android had a mouth it probably would have been smiling right now, "I am Time Patrol Unit 849 Model S, otherwise known as Synchron. It's my duty to monitor the flow of time and correct any errors that occur." he always loved it when he got to say that little speal. Outside of getting to explore the different periods in time it was one of his favorite parts of the job. "As for the what a Time Patrol Captain is....that will take a lot longer to explain."
Callio rolled his eyes and folded his arms against his chest, "Then give the short version of it all, 'Synchron."
"A Time Patrol Captain is a Captain of a Time Patrol Squadron; and before you ask the Time Patrollers are a group of a people who deal with problems in time. It's a lot to explain and I'd rather not get into at the moment."
Fair enough, at least he was able to get the basic idea of everything. It didn't exactly feel right knowing their was an entire group of people basically watching time unfold, but there wasn't much he could do about it. "Was I your mission?" if Synchron had been sent here to fight him or take him somewhere Callio wasn't going to be going along peacefully. He wasn't ready to leave this place just yet, and no one was going to make him without a pretty lengthy fight. "No, you are not my mission. Nor will I bother explaining the details of my mission to you."
Figures he wouldn't be able to get the full details, "Don't let me stop you from leaving then, exits behind me."
"Negative, I will not being leaving your side." Callio eyes narrowed in anger, "What the fuck buddy? If I'm not part of your mission why don't you take a hike? Go do whatever it is you Time Patrollers do."
"Since you are a anomaly within time it's logical to assume that you are going to eventual run into the reason I'm here. Thus I will stick with you and ensure your safety, while also making sure you do not start affecting the timestream."
Callio was all for being rebellious but it was readily apparent to him that he wasn't going to be able to make this android leave him alone. He was just going to have to deal with it until he went away, besides perhaps this wouldn't be too bad of an experience for him. With his little guy helping him he might even able to find out why he ended up in the past in the first place. The half-saiyan gave a shrug of his shoulders, "If you won't leave then at least help me spare." there was a paused, "You can fight right?"
"Of course, being a Time Patroller is a dangerous job we are all capable fighters. I could use a test of fighting capabilities anyway, let us begin when you are ready." the machine rose up from the ground and took up a defensive stance, having already figured out that Callio was a highly offensive fighter. He had been right on the mark, as Callio dashed towards him the Saiyan's fist making contact with his one of the large blue rings that acted as his 'forearm'. The assault on Synchron didn't stop with just the one punch though; a flurry of strikes were sent flying towards the Android. Each one he was able to block with a surprising level of skill. What he hadn't been able to block or predict was Callio's sudden flip into the air and over Synchron.
Callio was right above Synchron went he reached his arms down and gripped hold of the Android's head. He then increased the flow of ki coursing through his body and picked up Synchron. Tossing the Android into the ground with all his force as he finished his flip, the sheer amount of power put into the maneuver was enough to make the floor crack further. Callio now stood directly on top of the down robot; a grin present on his features. "Capable fighters huh? Looks to me like you're nothing but a fancy washing machine." he taunted, and it ended up being a bit too brash. The machine below him released the energy built within its core outward the sudden outburst of ki launching Callio into the ceiling with a thud.
Callio had been expecting for that to hurt a lot more than it actually had, and as he recovered himself in the air he folded his arms. Was he actually stronger than this thing? He couldn't be right? There was only one way to know for sure and that was to get the damn thing to fight like he meant it. "Why don't you try hitting me with something with a bit more umf you trash compactor." hopefully his insults were causing some kind of stir within the Android. It was very hard to tell how someone was feeling when they lack the required facial features to do so. Callio watched as Synchron pulled himself free from the crater on the floor, and the two of them locked eyes. The expression within Synchron's eyes seemed to be anger, but he Callio wasn't too sure. Either way he knew what it meant when the robot pointed one of his arms towards him and his entire body started to glow a brighter shade of blue. He was about to fire off a ki attack, "That's what I'm talking about!" Callio flexed his muscles and braced himself.
"Ion Wave."
The blast of pure blue energy was released from the Android's hand and launched itself into the air towards Callio. The Saiyan did nothing to stop the blast as it made contact with his body. Once more he found himself being pushed into the ceiling and while this certainly stung more than the ki push, it confirmed what Callio had been thinking. He let out a pained sigh as the attack finished and he landed himself on the ground. "I'm stronger than you Synchron, and considering I happen to be on the weak side of things that's saying something."
Synchron seemed confused, "My Power Level should be around 150,000 so I don't understand what you're talking about."
Callio couldn't help but laugh when the android stated it's 'current' level of power. "Sorry, it's just too funny because...I'm nowhere near that strong and your attacks are hardly hurting me. In fact I'm at around 13,500. You have to be at most 3x weaker than me at the moment, might want to check your systems R2." there was period of silence between the two of them as Synchron did just that. Callio didn't need for Synchron to have an actual face in order to tell what he was thinking now.
"You are correct...my power level is only 5,000 at the moment. It would seem that the travel into this time period has effect my power output."
5,000 huh? That was better than what Callio had original thought it was going to be, "Sucks but I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you're going to be stick with me then you'll be getting a lot of training in." he finished speaking and then went back onto the offensive hitting Synchron into the air and releasing volley of ki strikes against his body. The robot was going to make a far better punching bag than those droids that had slipt through time with him.
