"Sir! Are you sure you wish to go so soon? I mean, the Earth is still recovering from the attack! And you're, erm..." "Missing an arm, yes, I know." Cipher replied flatly as he walked into the hanger bay of the Big Blu. His ship, the Pale Rider, sat there, in pristine condition. The soldier following behind him quickly circled around him, trying to block him off. "But sir! The invasion was only a couple of months ago! Are you sure it's a good idea to try and engage in peace talks, again?" "I know full well that the invasion was only recently. That means that the Saiyan's defeat is still fresh in their minds. Knowing that fighting Earth is a pointless endeavor, they'll hopefully be more open to a peace treaty." The soldier tried to say something, but found himself unable to speak. He had to admit, Cipher had a point. If a peace treaty could established with Vegeta, it would prevent future invasions from the Saiyans in the future, and nothing made a person feel like talking it out then a good beating. Plus, despite his protests, there really wasn't anything he could do to stop Cipher. The android was his superior after all, and he had his mind firmly set on these peace talks. It was almost pleasant to see such a strong warrior push for peace this hard.
As Cipher approached the ship, his eyes caught sight of Porsalynne, his fiance, and their daughter Charlene approaching them. The girl was following behind the female android, carrying a large suitcase and having a backpack of her own on her back. The sight gave Cipher pause. "What's all that for?" he asked as the two approached. Porsalynne gave him an innocent smile, tilting her head to the side. "Why my dear, this is luggage for our trip." Cipher's eyes widened as the realization hit him. "You're...coming with me?" "But of course." Porsalynne smiled brightly, "I mean, we've never had a space faring family outing together. And with everything finally calmed down, I'd say this is the perfect opportunity." Cipher was about to object, to state that it was too dangerous for his fiance and child on Vegeta. However, while her smile remained on her face, her eyes spoke clearly what she was thinking. 'You left me here the last time you went to Vegeta, and I sent our daughter up there to be with you. We are NOT being left behind again'. Cipher glanced back at the soldier, who was waiting expectantly for the android's hypocritical objection. Cipher sighed. He had been backed into a corner. Porsalynne was sometimes too smart for her own good. "Very well," he sighed, gaining a happy beam from his fiance, and a small chuckle from the soldier and Charlene.
"If I may say something?" Cipher turned around to see Dr. Slouch approaching them, accompanied by another scientist with long black hair tied into a ponytail. Cipher tried not to groan. "Don't tell me. You don't want me to go as well." "In a sense," the scientist responded, "We're almost ready for your upgrade, and you insist on going to Vegeta in your condition. However, I've worked with KHAOS long enough to know it's hard to change your mind, so I wish to ask for a compromise." He gestured to the scientist behind him. "This is one of my students, Dr. Latchkin. I ask that you bring him along with you, so he can perform the upgrade on you. I can vouch that he's a very skilled young man, and in this case, you wont be going to Vegeta in your current condition. You'll arrive there stronger than ever." Cipher couldn't really say no to that. This way, it removed any fear for his safety when he was on Vegeta, and he could protect his family all the more better. "Very well. Come aboard Dr. Latchkin." The scientist bowed in response and headed for the ship along with Porsalynne and Charlene. "Now, if there are no more interruptions, I shall be heading to Vegeta."
Everyone was silent as Cipher walked up the ramp into his ship, watching as his passengers were getting settled in. The android headed for the pilot's seat and sat down, tapping a couple of buttons to start up the ship's engines. He waited as the hanger as cleared, the doors opening up for him. "Time to fly," he murmured as the ship began to take off, the landing gear retracting before the ship shot forward. He barely felt the g-forces on him as the ship shot up into the sky, the blue sky giving way to the darkness of space as the ship left Earth's orbit. Once firmly out of Earth's atmosphere, and at a good cruising speed, Cipher set the ship for autopilot, standing up and turning to the good doctor, who was just standing up. "Well, this seems like as good a time as any. While we fly, shall we get this upgrade on the way?" The doctor nodded, and Cipher led him away to a room where this could be done. Porsalynne and Charlene waited. Only time would tell how this upgrade would turn out. In the meantime, it was a good time to admire the cosmos.
