Maeve blinked as the majin girl clutched her arm like a scared child. She tilted her head lightly in her direction but quickly ended up looking ahead. She didn't want Sala to see her face, it was lightly flushed and burning with embarrassment. She wasn't used to having people touch her (or for that matter, cling to her in such a frightful manner.) So she was rigid and awkward from the contact of the terrified majin. Though after a brief moment she shook off her blush and steeled herself, regain her composure and shifted her focus back to the task at hand. Her serene mind was disturbed by her flustered state so it was imperative that she try to get over her hang ups about physical contact... At least for now.
The softest hints of a smile grazed her intensely focused face at the sudden surge of determination the woman displayed (even if it was slightly confusing, the 'stupid pink face' comment seemed a little out of place.) Was she alright? Or, was she still being affected by the twisted illusion? That had to be it... All the more reason to stop it. She brushed everything off however and made her way forward. She didn't have time to question the girl and her odd perception. She had to make as much ground as she could while she could maintain her focus.
She looked to her surroundings, things seemed oddly quiet and it was keeping her on edge. A civilian clouded by the dark illusion could jump out before them at any turn. The madman behind it all could be hidden behind any corner. She had to remain sharp, vigilant, and ready for anything. Her gaze shifted up as she noticed a bit of movement.
"?!"
Her headfins perked as her body suddenly tensed. Her muscles flexed lightly as her grip tightened around the hilt of her sword. A flicker of the demon's image skirted down one of the alleyways before her. The instinct to spring after it flooded her but she hesitated. Something was off about it. With her serene state of mind Maeve picked up on small details that normally would pass by others... The way the image moved, it seemed surreal and uncanny. The illusion was very well crafted but Maeve's serene state picked it apart. It looked as if he didn't fit the world... The lighting wasn't exactly right and it's shadow didn't seem to look like it was affected by the world around it. In fact, the illusion didn't have any impact or weight on it's surroundings at all.
"Damnable trickster..." Maeve spoke in a flat tone as she turned away from the image. "...Hey, pay close attention. I think he's using illusions to keep us off his trail." She said turning to Sala for a moment. "Look sharp and-" She stopped, ears twitching as she heard something come up behind her.
"Die you ungrateful bitch!" A man called out as he lifted up a crowbar and attempted to smash Maeve's skull in a sharp downward arc. Reacting quickly though: Maeve would draw her blade and catch the crowbar in the middle of it's swing. The unmistakable sound of the clashing of metal rang throughout the air as Fateburn and the blunt crowbar struck against each other in an instant. Sparks shot into the air as the two metal objects rubbed against each other. Maeve's golden eyes narrowed in on the attacking human for a moment, she knew to hold herself back but a bit of anger still bubbled up within her at being attacked from behind. He pulled away from their weapon lock and held his freed crowbar up. Tears began streaming down his cheeks as he stepped towards her a second time. "You... YOU TOOK EVERYTHING!!!" He yelled as he ran at her once more. Maeve clicked her tongue as she lowered her stance. "I LOVED YOU DAMMIT!" All it took was a quick snap of her tail to send the large man to the ground.
"Damn... To be this reckless...What sort of nightmare could one be having?" Maeve asked herself looking over the man. From the nonsense he was shouting it was fairly obvious he had a sad life. Maeve looked upon him with pity for a moment but ended up looking up once more. "If we don't hurry these people are going to tear each other apart... Damn him..."

The frightened Majin remained a few inches off the ground behind Maeve as they walked, clinging a bit tighter to her arm each time something particularly horrifying caught her eye. She saw what had to be the end of a fight to their right, a monster made of dirty, melted marshmallow (clearly, it fell on the ground — gross!) smashing a man made of cinnamon candies (the only candies Sala didn’t like) over the head with a rock until it stopped moving.
Sala, of course, didn’t see a crowbar-wielding man but some sort of horrible creature with far too many tentacles rambling incoherently at them. That her horrifyingly scaly new friend defeated the creature with a single flick of her mighty tail inspired confidence from the Majin. “R-right,” she muttered, reminding herself that the fallen tentacle creature was probably just a normal man, “people…”
As they progressed, Sala slowly grew accustomed to the horrors around her. She stopped shivering and mostly held onto Maeve because it was too awkward to let her go at this point. Additionally, her knowledge of horror films led her to believe that the moment she’d let go she’d get “got” by something. All the same, she looked about with less distraction, seeking Lunar Mensis — or, rather, what looked like her normal self — as they walked through the city. “You tell me when you see the person responsible for this,” she said, “I can try to hold him while you beat him up.”

Lunar hadn't exactly picked a hard place for him to hide. After collecting the prize for his lovely winners, the makyo scholar had made his way to the town hall, sitting casually on its steps and whistling a small tune. It would seem like a stupid place to 'hide', but when there illusory doubles of himself running around, not to mention nightmare visions messing with one's reality, hiding in plain sight actually seemed really brilliant. Odds were they'd just pass him off as another illusion.
As he sat there, only half paying attention to the chaos before him, he began to think about the ladies who were hunting him. It seemed the young man had left, rather than take part. A shame. Maybe he couldn't handle it? Or just didn't care? Well, no matter. He considered him the least interesting of the three anyway.
So, who would find him first? The draconic demon swordswoman? Or the alluring Majin? When he last sensed them, they had been together. Were they still sticking together? Or have they split up? He was purposely keeping himself in the dark just like they were. He found the whole experience pretty thrilling. He couldn't wait to see who would win. He certainly hoped they liked their prize.

Maeve glanced back to Sala as she proposed her plan of attack. A soft hint of a smile grazed her lips as she gave her an affirmative nod. She was tensed, and she could tell Sala was on edge as well. So, she decided to roll with her little joke suggestion on how they should deal with the dark professor. "That sounds like a good plan. A fun plan at the very least. You could hold him and I'll punch." She said mimicking the motion by punching her palm before a giving an awkward giggle. She wasn't really used to cheering others up or raising spirits so her attempts were clumsy at best. She cleared her throat after a bit of a pause and returned to her cool collected mentality.
"Right... Lets just deal with him as soon as we can. These people are suffering... I'm sure you can hear the violence too." Her stoic tone lowered to one of sadness for a brief moment as she continued moving on with her search at a brisk pace. Her golden eyes cut down each alleyway and each turn She hurried along the streets as her serene mind helped her take in all the little details. A few more false Lunar's crossed her path but she ignored them. "Using such foul tactics to subjugate the weak..." She said anger slipping into her voice as she looked around a coming corner. She paused as a woman and her child screamed at her. One look at Maeve was enough to send them fleeing in the opposite direction. Maeve clicked her tongue in agitation, her brow furrowing as she continued on. She still could not find any trace of him. "...Making people see us as monsters..." She hissed. an aura creeping over her form as her Serene mind started to slip. "Can you believe-" She began to express her outrage but stopped upon focusing her Gaze on Sala once more.
"...You're floating." She pointed out the outrage dying with that single observation. "You can fly?" She asked, her headfins poking in a mixture of intrigue and alarm as she looked over Sala and her floating form. She paused gripping the bridge of her nose as she took a moment to recollect herself. The Flying bit would have been something that was good to notice earlier. "Alright, so...Listen to me, I know this is going to sound frightening but I need you to do something for me." Maeve said as she cut her glance away from the majin and towards the sky. "...I can't fly, so I need you to fly up there and try to see if he's hiding somewhere. Be sure to look closely though because I think there may be a few illusions darting around." She looked the majin in the eyes with sincerity. "I'll be right down here, if I see anything coming for you I promise I'll protect you. Yoiu have my sword." She said with a reassuring nod.
"Please. I'm counting on you."

Sala’s spirits certainly lifted at Maeve’s joke. She let out a cheerful laugh as they tarried on, “Sounds like a plan!” Her head tilted, tentacle flopping over to the right side of her head as her large ear-holes twitched slightly. She could hear it, so much chaos and pain in the distance. This was the sort of incident she’d spent her days fearing back when she was a normal Majin. Now, though? She felt very little. In fact, she almost enjoyed the sounds she heard in the city.
That’s fucked up, she told herself, knowing that, ethically, enjoying the sound of real people in real fear and pain was absolutely wrong. And yet she felt something stir within her, an ugly emotion befitting her current, ugly, shriveled appearance. A small shudder rolled from her throat as she continued to levitate behind the woman, distracted from her vigilance for the moment. Maeve’s stoicism didn’t help the sudden loss of humor in Sala, but she figured the draconic woman would attribute it to the situation at hand. Making people see us as monsters, thought the Majin, but I might already be one.
Then, all at once, Sala snapped back to reality — or what was closest to it — at Maeve’s question. She can’t fly? Sala was awestruck. This creature had such massive wings and such a horrible scaly body — then she reminded herself that she could not trust what her eyes tell her. She smelled the girl, she didn’t smell monstrous or, at the least, didn’t seem to match the horrific appearance. Sala knew she shouldn’t judge; she couldn’t fly prior to absorbing Dante and most people on Earth couldn’t and would never fly without a vehicle.
Contrary to Maeve’s expectations, however, being in the air was actually a better idea in Sala’s opinion. She could be far away from those same, flightless citizens and, if she wanted, she could just make a break for it. She didn’t want to do that; the illusionist wearing her proper, beautiful face needed a proper beating until she looked like herself again. Maeve’s reassurance meant a lot to the timid Majin girl, who nodded her head to the dragon and gave her as genuine a hug she could manage when she had to hug what appeared to be some… creepy, spooky, flightless winged lizard-thing.
Sala flew straight up, letting her legs rise overhead first before her arms left Maeve’s shoulders. “I’m counting on you, too,” she said. The illusion clouded her mind, but the city generally looked the same. She couldn’t sense energy, but she might be able to spy him from afar. Sala decided to conjure up a spyglass for that purpose, creating a simple, retractable metal tube with glass at both ends. Her eye pressed to the spyglass and she stared out to examine her surroundings. The park where she fainted from the first wave of illusions, the city street they’d travelled, the round house upon which she’d been seated when the trip hit her hard and did her dirty… she saw these things, then turned to the direction of the downtown square and shops.
She saw people freaking out there, or what she assumed were simply people. Honestly, she didn’t have the time or patience to sort out what creature was what and looked to Town Hall. From this angle, she could only barely make out what looked to be herself, but healthy-looking and oh-so-pretty, lounging on the steps. That arrogant bitch! she thought, though she mostly thought it of herself and not their “host”. Perhaps that wasn’t even him, maybe that was yet another projection? She’d have to ask Maeve. She looked down to her reptilian ally to see what was going on on her end.

Lunar gave a small sigh as he sat on the steps of city hall. What was taking them so long? Perhaps his illusory doubles were making the game a little bit too difficult for them? That was no fun. He had high hopes for those two lovelies, and was really hoping they would find him soon. Maybe he should tone down the illusions? No, he got the feeling that these girls wouldn't like it if he was seemingly making it easy on them.
His eyes turned skyward. Originally he was looking up to gaze at the stars and the moon in the sky. However, his attention was soon caught by something else. A small shape flying through the air. Curious, he slowly reached out with his ki sense and a bright smile appeared on his face. It was them! They had decided to fly to look for him. Clever. Though they seemed to be together and judging by the shape, was it possible one was carrying the other? He could believe that. He couldn't fly either.
Not taking his eyes off of them, Lunar slowly rose to his feet, a bright smile on his face. Let's give them a little something, a reward for their cleverness. He closed his eyes and began to sing. You wouldn't think that a scholar would be good at singing, but he had a surprisingly good voice. There were no words this time, just a deep, yet rather beautiful sound that echoed around the place.

Maeve failed to fight back a heavy blush as the majin girl embraced her suddenly. She didn't resist as the pink skinned mortal woman clung to her in a surprisingly genuine display of affection. It was... Nice, despite everything Maeve honestly took some comfort in the stranger's warm embrace. She didn't return the hug, but it wasn't out of callousness she was just rigid from embarrassment and the uncertainty on how to handle the situation. In the demon realm she never received such kindness, her family weren't ones to share physical affection and it was even rare for Akemi, her true friend, to do so as well. So receiving such a genuine hug from a stranger was practically unheard of for her... Still, she couldn't deny just how comforting it was
Her gaze followed Sala's upward as the woman began to lift high into the air while she kept their embrace for as long as she could. Part of her was hoping that the warm embrace would linger just a bit longer. She didn't realize how much she needed a hug after the things she was going through today. She felt incredibly vulnerable at the realization. Memories of her nightmare flashed before her eyes for a moment: the images of Akemi and Scampi collapsing into a puddle of their own blood replayed in her mind causing her eyes to become glossy with a few tears. She shook her thoughts off and buried her emotions as Sala finally broke away from their embrace while she urged the dragon demoness that she was counting on her just as Maeve had done moments ago. Maeve nodded her head in response. The two both had their jobs to do, and hopefully by working together they'd catch the mad man and wake everyone from their dark dream.
Maeve's gaze remained focused on the majin, she wondered briefly what the girl was seeing, for some reason it seemed she still was looking at the world through the madman's twisted nightmarish lens. She had hoped that despite her altered perception that she'd still be able to pinpoint the bastard. Though, after a moment, Maeve thought that they might not have to. For shortly after Sala lifted up into the air the demon decided to 'reward them.' Maeve's golden eyes widened and her ears and headfins perked as a strange sound filled the air.
"...What is...That?" She asked as the sickeningly sweet sound hit her ears. The melodic ringing of his voice, while not exactly unpleasant, sent a shiver up the warrior's spine. The wordless tone was eerie as it was beautiful. Maeve looked around as the demon's song began rousing some of the nearby people. They were covering their ears and crying out in a mixture of agony and fear.
"The singing...Make it stop! I can't take it!" One middle aged balding man cried out before fixating his gaze on Maeve. "Y-You! You're doing this! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" He yelled out as he sprint at her suddenly. He pulled his arm back and attempted to slam his fist into the dragoness' jaw as he sprint with all his might. Blood lust filled his eyes as he let the haunting song drive him into a frenzy.
"Stand back." Maeve snarled as she took out Fateburn casually. As the man ran at her she would lift the heavy blade up and swipe the cleaver in his general direction. The force behind the mighty swing alone created a gust of wind powerful enough to send the man flying backwards. Maeve sheathed her blade and crossed her arms, her gaze shifting to all the other men and women that seemed to be slowly pouring unto their street. She glanced upwards. "Hey! Are you alright?" She asked shifting her glance back to the people as they inched closer. "Have you found him? Time is a bit limited..." She commented taking another step back as the mob began to form before them.

Sala heard the sound of Lunar’s voice clearly through the waking nightmare. To her surprise, the voice she head was not her own, but it was definitely beautiful. The haunting melody soothed something within her, calmed her as she stared at the pink, beautiful, normal version of herself down below. In the moment, Lunar’s voice made her feel at peace and this realm of nightmares, if for only a moment, felt familiar and comfortable. The myriad horrors below still existed, as did the chaos and the violence of the humans, but his song seemed to bring rest within the terror to Sala’s quickly-beating heart. For the first time since she arrived in this horrid town — or, perhaps, since her return from the Demon Realm — she felt at peace.
But Maeve was still counting on her, the woman’s voice snapping her from her respite. She saw the creator of the illusions and heard the bewitchingly beautiful voice, and so it was time to end this nightmare. Sala slowly descended from the night’s sky as her friend called to her, meeting her with a serene smile on her face. Perhaps this shift in mood might seem startling to Maeve, but the Majin just felt so relaxed by the haunting sound.
“Oh! Oh!” Sala exclaimed, grinning at her new, horrifyingly scaly friend, “I saw her! I saw the other me! She’s over by the city hall!” She paused and tilted her head, staring at the man — or, to her, a monster — that Maeve had defeated moments before her return. “Did you… Is he dead?” she asked, privately hoping against her own good nature that she did. “On second thought,” said Sala, disturbed again by her inner sadism, “don’t tell me. I really don’t want to know.”
“Let’s go,” said Sala, “I can take you there, even if you can’t fly.” She stood on the air and pointed a shriveled-looking finger to the woman, attempting to telekinetically levitate her from the ground. If allowed, she would take the (surprisingly light) draconic creature towards the city hall to confront their fears.

Lunar watched as the figure descended to the ground, returning to the air shortly after with another one. They were coming. Lunar's smile spread wide. They must have figured out it was him. He was overjoyed! They had managed to navigate through his illusions and find the truth.
Lunar's song took on a more joyful tone. Still quite beautiful, and still a bit eery, but definitely happier. Almost as if to show them that he was happy that they had worked it out, which he was. Meanwhile, in the rest of the town, the people were still trapped in the throws of his nightmare. For some reason his singing was having some sort of adverse affect on them, making it worse. The nerve of them! He thought his singing was rather good. Hopefully his new friends would appreciate his singing once they arrived. He hoped they liked their prize too. Maybe he should have gotten two boxes. He hadn't expected them to work together.

Maeve galnced back slowly as Sala lowered down and began speaking, she looked over the man that she thought she disabled. He was laying still on the ground for a long while, that combined with Sala's questioning on whether or not she killed the man caused her breath to catch in her throat. Was he really dead? He wasn't moving...Could she have really killed him with just a gust? A frenzy of worried thoughts buzzed in her head a moment as she stared at the motionless figure. She clenched her fists, mentally cursing herself for being too careless. She stopped however letting out a sharp inhaling gasp as she saw the man stir lightly. She placed a hand on her chest and looked away finally.
She panted, air returning to it's normal circulation as she relaxed. She didn't kill him, she was so thankful... The anger and fear was getting to her... She could feel her grip slipping and she was losing control of herself. A lightly shaking hand moved to her cheek as she ran her fingers over her runic tattoos. She had their pattern's memorized so tracing them with her fingers was a simple habit she had. She let out another sigh, eyes closing as she tried to ease her nerves and relax. It certainly felt like a weight was lifted that she had yet to kill anyone despite the crazy circumstances. She felt as light as air even. It was a little odd, she realized, and as she opened her golden eyes she would see that it was more than just 'a little odd.'
"Kyaah?!" She cried out in shock as she realized she was floating. She glanced back to Sala, eyes wide and headfins perked almost straight up in her sudden panic at her current state of weightlessness. She looked about, arms flailing and feet kicking at the ground for a few moments as she tried to scramble for some footing. She tried to think, was she having another nightmare? Was this just another illusion? What was going on?! As her mind frantically raced she would stop and relax as she pulled back what Sala had said moments earlier. While Maeve was focused on that man and his well being the majin woman had mentioned something about flying and bringing her to city hall.
Maeve looked to the majin, her struggling ceasing as she let the woman use her Telekinesis to bring her into the air. "You...You're doing this?" She looked at her with a strange mixture of shock, awe, and a tinge of fear in her eyes. "That's amazing! We'll get there in no time!" She said, determination filling her voice and flashing over her eyes. "We can make this monster pay! Lets go! There's no time to waste!" She said, her eyes practically glowing with tenacity. She couldn't help but urge the majin to move forward, something was compelling her to stand up to Lunar. To make him pay for this little 'experiment' of his.

Sala smiled brightly, proud to receive a compliment for her abilities. She hadn't trained her magic for all those years for nothing, after all. Following the music, she headed to city hall which, to her, seemed a really painfully obvious place to look, but she wasn't about to look the gift horse in the mouth. They came to the central square in front of city hall; Sala set Maeve down carefully and floated beside (and a bit behind) her. "Alright," she squeaked, balling her hand into a fist, "Time to put an end to this, right? Right behind you, lizard friend!" Her eyes focused on Lunar, still appearing as her worst fear - herself, naturally - and she steeled herself. She took another look at her own, wrinkled, greyed illusionary form and glared furiously at him, "Let's bop him!"

Lunar's smile widened as the pair of them landed before the town hall. Strange, they both appeared angry with him. Why? didn't they enjoy the game? A shame. Maybe Lunar should make it more fun next time.
"Wonderful! I knew you two would find me. I hope you both enjoyed the game." he laughed. He then gave a wave of his hand and something rather unusual happened. The illusions suddenly faded away. The twisted town, the nightmarish creatures, it all vanished. Lunar stood before them, looking like his normal self. The towns folk, who up until now had been trapped in horrific nightmares, stopped and looked around in confusion. Apart from some property damage caused by the panicking townsfolk, the place looked like your average, calm night.
"Well then," Lunar smiled, "It certainly has been a fun night hasn't it? Though now there's just one problem." He held out the box of chocolates. "I only got one box for the prize. I didn't expect the two of you to work together. Maybe the two fo you could share them?"

Maeve was unsure of what to expect as the two made their way to the man's spot. Though at the speed they were going it gave the dragoness time to reflect on the situation and how it might be best handled. A flood of emotion filled her heart as she drew closer and closer to the spot of the nightmare weaver. Anticipation, worry, but above all a righteous fury burned in her golden eyes as she was brought by her majin companion to the place where they'd end the twisted game brought about by the demon mad man. Various thoughts raced in her head as she looked to the city hall with a scowl. He endangered innocents for his sick little idea of a game, she could still hear the sounds of people bashing each other like feral animals in their intense terror. He made the world see them as monsters, the way their faces contorted into fear as they scampered away in a panic was something she always dreaded seeing, and he went out of his way to make it a reality. He also used cheap tactics and trickery to draw them into his game, he felt he was powerful or important enough to take advantage of everyone he saw as 'beneath him.' It made her tremble with anger the more and more she thought about it... As they dropped down in the center of the city hall: Maeve would move to stand in front of Sala in a protective stance, the majin still seemed to be fearing the demon before them and she wanted her to know she was safe in her presence. She merely frowned as she drew Fateburn and pointed it at the demon, she wasn't in the mood for any more games or tricks, she was ready to end it now. Her anger over the situation brewed into hatred as the man gave them a genuine smile at their arrival. She remained quiet as Lunar happily welcomed them though her scowl seemed to deepen. As he went on to congratulate them and ask them if they had fun she lowered her head, the shade of night covering her eyes. As he began going on about their prize her scowl broke into an outright snarl. "SHUT UP!" She loudly hissed out through teeth clenched down hard enough to let blood began to trickle down the side of her lip. An aura of black and red exploded around her as she stood trembling in unrestrained fury as she tightly clasped the great cleaver in hand. "You...Made the people into... Animals!" She said in a broken snarl as her aura raged around her like a demonic hurricane. "They maimed each other in the utter terror that YOU wrought!" Violent sparks of black and red electricity snaked and shot around her form. Arcs crashed against the various light posts around causing the bulbs to explode in a shower of sparks. "You made them see us as monsters! You made us feel hated! Feared!" She glanced up, her tattoos that held her runic tattoos burning away as her eyes lit with a fierce golden glow. "You subjugated everyone because you felt you could. Because you felt you were stronger. YOU FELT YOU HAD DOMINION OVER THE LIVES OF OTHERS DUE TO YOUR STRENGTH" She yelled as she suddenly broke her aura and she got into her fighting stance. Her pale glowing eyes boring into the cheery demon before her. "We can play by those rules if you so dearly wish. Step up so you can see my strength and face the full fury of my blade!" With her power now at triple the strength due letting her demonic blood and violent impulses run wild: Maeve began gathering her ki into the fearsome blade: Fateburn. She was readying herself for an attack, and in her current berserk state it was obvious that she wasn't going to hold anything back.

Sala lifted a brow at the other her, seeing her smile and strange manner, her pink lips pursing into a pout. The illusions faded from her mind and she looked around, seeming rather surprised. She immediately took notice of the candy, but that wasn't as important as what was holding the candy. “W-wait, you’re a guy?!” she screamed, looking at the demonic male in front of her. Then she looked at him. He was actually really attractive! Bright red hair, ghost-pale skin, he looked like a total spook! Sala loved total spooks! Her face turned purple and she shot him a big grin, “So, you’re a guy. I’m a… oh, wait, am I me again?” She looked to herself, her hands were the correct shade of pink, her nails were shiny, her body was buxom and not saggy at all… “Oh my gosh! Yes! YES! I’m back to my normal, gorgeous, sexy, beautiful, wonderful self again! Soft skin, cute features, killer body, perfection! Finally! Oh, Maeve, can y-“ She looked at Maeve and had a similar reaction as she did with Lunar. This time, however, she tried to contain herself… meaning that she blurted out how he felt immediately. “Oh my gosh, Maeve, you’re hot!” She quickly regretted saying that the moment she got a decent look at Maeve’s face, biting down on her lip and silencing herself. “Uh, I mean… Not the best time, right, sorry.” She looked to Lunar again. She briefly considered his offer of candy, but figured she could just take it from him. Pointing a finger and looking down her nose at him, “You made me see horrible things, then you hurt some humans or something, and you totally pissed my new friend off! We’re totally gonna wreck your face, bitch!”

Lunar couldn't help but chuckle at the Majin's reaction to him. Guess his illusions caused her to see him as something else, as well as herself. "Yes, I am indeed a guy," he replied, "And yes, you are indeed your sexy, beautiful self again. Though, to be fair, despite what you saw, you were never anything else." He flashed her a smile and gave her a bow before the dragoness, Maeve was it? yelled at him to shut up, drawing her sword and seething in rage. Ah, rage looked quite beautiful on her face. The majin seemed to follow her lead, though with a lot less anger in her.
As Maeve spoke, Lunar chuckled. "Oh dear, you seem to have made a bit of a mistake my dear. Well, sort of. You are right about some things. I am indeed stronger than these people, and it is because of that strength that I do this. But do not get me wrong, I don't do this because I find it amusing, or because these people have wronged me."
He held his arms out wide. "I do this to make them stronger! Strength comes from suffering! In order for these people to advance as a species, they must be thrown out of their comfort zone into the terrifying unknown, to see whether they succeed or fall by the wayside. I can see that you've both experienced suffering of your own, and that it's molded you into the lovely creatures I see before me. Suffering made me strong, and it shall give them strength too!" As he spoke that last sentence, a twisted smile stretched across his face. It wasn't a pleasant smile, nor a malicious one. There was something under it. Something very, very off.
He managed to calm himself after a moment, returning to his calm smile. "You're angry at me for doing this? For putting them through a nightmare where I wish for them to survive, and yet you draw your blade, determined to kill me?" He could sense that her strength had skyrocketed in her anger. Such a wonderful thing. "Am I truly the villain here? I believe you should think about that. In the meantime, I should go. The night is almost over, and I must say it's been rather productive. Until we meet again ladies."
He gave a formal bow to the pair of them before turning to leave. The air around him seemed to shimmer before he seemingly vanished. In reality, another trick of smoke and mirrors, hiding him from their sight as he went off into the night.
[Apparently this can turn into a DE. Oh well. Lunar's leaving the thread. PL please]
