It was early in the morning but the birds chirpings sure were loud. The familiar stream beside the old temple was lively flowing, and you could see fishes of all kinds happily jumping out and in. The trees were haromincally conquered by woodpecks, and the air was already warm enough to make one take their clothes off. What an atmospheric morning and a way to start a day! This, however the atmosphere inside the old temple was quite deadly silenced. It was like the walls seperating the inside and outside formed two alternate dimensions, completely different from each other. In the small room, there lied Kaito and Saitama. The look on both their faces was very serious and it formed a very intense interaction between the two.
Saitama repeated: "Are you really, really sure about this, Kaito Zen?"
This meant his future of his warrior life to Kaito. He was about to fight the legendary dragon who lives deep in the caves of Mt.Koun, which was said to have ended young people's future prematurely. The legend says the dragon is very ancient, and posseses great powers, that no warrior has come close to it. Even so, Kaito's will remained unshattered, as he loudly spoke, punctuating every letter of it. "I am ready."
Saitama gladly smiled upon his student's will and refreshed the situation by saying: "Very well, shall we eat something then?"
The duo easily became familiarized with the lively atmosphere the natural creatures had set up, and they were sure loving their trip to Mt. Koun (consists of the kanji KO (高), tall or high, and the kanji UN (雲) cloud, meaning a mountain high in the clouds). They were preparred for the long journey. They had packed food and lots of drinkings, in case of any thirst, since they were using the human way of traveling for training purposes. As they were walking through the dense forests of Koun, this scenario made Saitama remember a certain and major occurence in his life, when his first student was assassinated, and he was unable to protect him. He was getting all nostalgic when a punch came his way from Kaito to recall him.
"Listen to what I'm saying, ol' man! What are you thinking about?"
With his distinct and old voice, Saitama responded. "Ouch, that hurt you idiot! For heavens' sake..."
Kaito looked delighted as he smiled on the old man's funny attempts to punish him. And so, Saitama and Kaito had already reached their desired location, that was the highest point of the mountain. Kaito lazily extended his body, resting on a colossal rock that happened to be there and yawned. Saitama had suggested him to get some sleep before working out in training, meanwhile he himself set out to look for something.
Half an hour passed, and Kaito woke up, thirsty. He reached one of his bags and grabbed a bottle of water, drinking it all in matter of seconds. After slapping himself several times, softly, of course, he stood up and was a little surprised of Saitama’s absence. Where could he have gone… Kaito bothersomely went through these thoughts, he knew it was a pain in the ass to search for the old man, who is a master in the arts of hiding. However, speak of the devil, Saitama rapidly jumps out of the dense trees, covering the way to the dragon’s cave. He was in a hurry, it seems, and was sweating all over, however a contentful smile in his face. He was holding an egg… a dragon’s egg! Kaito widened his eyes staring at it.
"Old man, what’s this for?"
"Hehe, we will use this to enrage the dragon, in order for your battle with him. Today’s the day the persistent dragon is going down. Saitama loudly laughed with his throaty tone."
Kaito had opened his mouth wide, astonished at the old man’s crazy idea. However it was fine, cause Kaito loved adventures!
After a brief break, the duo had set up every necessity and set off to the dragon’s place. Making their way through the dense forest, with tree branches randomly shoved down their throats, they managed to get out of it alive. Now what was awaiting them, was the enourmous and fearsome cave. It was pitch dark inside, however Saitama had prepared torches before hand. The path inside was very messy, you could see rocks of all sizes and footsteps, polluted air and constant water droplets’ sound against the rocks. From here, you could hear the hefty dragon’s breath. Saitama was carefully observing Kaito’s face expressions, and as expected from him, he remained unafraid.
So, they had reached to the dragon’s main field. Saying it’s huge, is generous enough. It was mega big. Well, what could you expect from a dragon’s living place. Kaito muttered. He turned his head to see for Saitama, but he was missing. Kaito heard some moving motions in front of the dragon’s eyes, which were closed, sleeping. It was Saitama, trying to wake him up, and then have Kaito bust the egg away. So, the old man shouted a loud interjection, with loud echos afterwards. This woke up the dragon immediately, but by then, Saitama had already reached beside Kaito again. He slinged a strong, friendly palm to Kaito’s shoulders."Here, it’s your turn now, brat!"
"Ouch, that hurt old man! For heavens’ sake…!" Nevertheless, Kaito knew how deeply the old man cared for him. For this, he was grateful. But now, it was no time to get distracted. The dragon’s fury over his interrupted sleep conquered the cave with his shoutings. His eyes glowed red, and they were so big it lighted the whole room. One fact that astonished Kaito greatly, was that this huge room could only cover the 1/3 of the dragon’s body, meaning his head only. Where the hell were his other parts? Anyway, no time to waste anymore. The dragon’s fury alarmed Kaito to max, he knew if he would let his guard down for a second, he’d be done for. Time to make a move!"Oi, monster! Look what I have here!" The dragon quckly shifted his look to what Kaito was holding, and in that moment, Kaito slammed the egg against the ground, and juice was splashed around. "I’m sorry, baby dragon, but you are dangerous creatures, I will have to take care of your mother too." This action triggered the dragon’s angriness to max, that something was bursting the room’s ground apart. Kaito quickly was aware of this and he jumped out of the way, and climbed by a rock that happened to be there. What were coming out from the earth were dragon’s limbs! I see! The remaining body of this guy is underground! Kaito smirked and looked with admiration his opponent, as he was about to attack. The dragon threw an incoming kick with his tail towards Kaito, however he skillfully dodged it by supporting the weight of his body with his two hands, and getting out of the way. Now that the dragon’s guard was down, Kaito approached more to the dragon and released a Ki blast towards his eyes to leave him temporarily blind. Having upper hand of this distraction, Kaito lands on his coiled body, and started dashing at full speed towards dragon’s left mug. Now it was time to finally try to attack him seriously. As Kaito was about to land a strong kick, he almost reflexively felt the dragon’s limb coming his way. Kaito had no time to dodge at all, and he decided to tank the attack by placing his arms in front of his head, as a basic guarding form. The attack softly connected, and Kaito was sent flying away, to only be slammed against the walls. He coughed blood but didn’t lost consciousness. Saitama meanwhile was watching the whole scene behind a slab of rock, and was amazed by Kaito’s skill, even though he got his ass handed this time.
Wiping his blodd off his mouth, Kaito once again dashes towards the dragon, by countering the incoming attacks with simple body movements, such as spiral kicking or punching. As he managed to make it with some effort, Kaito this time went for his right mug. Firstly, he landed two basic kicks and one punch, to daze the dragon, and quickly jumped back. He started to gather Ki as he started to float, and quickly released a blue stream which seemingly impaled through the dragon’s mouth. The dragon screamed in agony. As furious as ever, the dragon managed to strangle Kaito with his numerous hands, however they were easily deflected by a burst of Ki from Kaito’s side. Now’s your chance, Kaito! Saitama screamed with enthusiasm. Kaito flew below the dragon’s mug and smashed it with his head, while also throwing consecutive kicks until the dragon passed out. Kaito, as satisfied as ever, jumped back to catch a break, while seeing the rare scene, of having defeated a legendary creature that lived here for centuries. Saitama jumped out of the rock and went by Kaito’s side to congratulate him. "Here, kid! You did a solid job, congratulations"! Kaito was looking Saitama with joy, as the duo made their way out of the cave. The bright sun’s light and a slight breeze fondled Kaito’s hair, who was smiling like a child with his mouth open wide. He was truly, genuinely satisfied to have accomplished his hardworking win!
