Gleciar had been loving the last few weeks living in Mt. Paozu, but he knew that sooner or later he would have to get a proper home, so he decided to go find work back in South Capitol.
The first thing he did there was to find an employment agency, where he was forced to wait in line for an interview.
“Hey man…” said the guy sitting beside him. “Are you one of those Arcosians?”
“I am. What about it?” He knew the answer to the question, but he still asked. He had been surprised one, it could happen again.
“Aren’t you one of those conquerors or something?” And there it was.
He groaned in response, grabbing a newspaper and waiting until it was his turn.
After about a half an hour he was called for the interview. “Any previous work experience, Mr…” said the lady interviewing him.
“Gleciar, and yes, I’ve been a farmer, construction worker, fisherman and hunter.” The Arcosian answered.
“Uhuh… May I see your resume?”
“I don’t have one… All those jobs where off planet. In Namek to be exact.”
“Uhuh…” The interview kept on going for a while, but in the end he got a few part time jobs that he would have to start in a week.
The first one started before dawn, on in a boat with many other fishermen. The boat had anchored near the sea of sharks he had fought in a few weeks ago, but at a safe enough distance that they weren’t in danger.
Gleciar was in charge of the crane that dragged the fish caught with the net up into the boat, but instead of waiting for the fishes to get trapped themselves, he dove into the sea without letting his boss notice.
Once underwater he started herding the fishes into the net, he kept it up until the net was nearly full, but then a giant shark appeared from behind and tried to eat him and the fish he had caught. He quickly moved out of the way, letting the shark get itself caught in the net, and flew back out of the water to haul the catch. He had been just fast enough, the shark didn’t eat any of the fish.
Although this caused his boss to make him an official “herder”, he probably would have been absolutely livid if he hadn’t caught so many fish. He kept going for a while until it was time for his next job, in which time he burst off the boat and headed north.
His second job was in a farm a few miles south of North Capitol, and it started at 6 AM. He first had to plow a few miles of land: work that would have usually taken weeks for normal people to do, but his experience, super speed and strength allowed him to do it in an hour. Soon after he planted some seeds and watered by carrying a cistern with a small hole, which he had to fix during
Then he fed the animals without any problem. All this meant that his daily workload had been reduced to just watering the seeds and tending to the animals, from the weeks it was supposedly going to take him to plow the whole place.
Once again he moved to his next job, hunting animals in Bamboo Forest. He was sent to hunt wolves for pelts, deer, rabbits and some birds for meat, and feet and feathers respectively. And it didn’t take long to do: he wasn’t required to use a gun, and so he did it all with his bare hands, ki sense, and ki suppression, reaching his quota and then some in a few hours.
Finally at nightfall he went for the last job, working in a construction of a skyscraper back in South Capitol, at first he was moving stuff around like an errand boy, but when the others noticed his speed and strength he took the place of the cranes in moving everything that needed to be moved This would have increased the progress of the construction if it wasn’t for other workers trying to stop him or simply bumming around. He guessed it was because they were being paid by the hour and if the progress was accelerated they would be paid less. Since this included him, he slowed to the pace of the machines.
Around midnight he had finished working his turn and started heading back, he thought he probably should get something to eat around town, since most animals would be asleep back in Paozu. So he started walking towards the restaurant he went to every so often to eat.
On his way he saw a poster of a missing cat with a reward for finding it. He thought his Ki sense might be able to sense all the cats in town and he could look all over for the missing one and get the reward. So he did just that, it wasn’t easy taking into account he mistakenly also sensed dogs and other animals of similar size to a cat, but in the end he found it and got it to the owner. He got paid, even if it was 1 am and the owner of the cat was angry for knocking on his door at that hour.
By the time he got to the restaurant it was closed, so he simply just headed to a gas station and bought a sandwich and a sports drink for his trip back home.
