This was it. The Multiverse Tournament was coming to a close. The Minor Leagues, though a bit low-intensity compared to the other divisions, was filled with electric bouts, as well as some surprise upsets. Surely some bets were lost on this division. Ornee practically skipped over to the microphone, and clicked it on.
"The final match of the Minor Leagues is between... Tomoka and Collan! Let's give it up for our two amazing warriors!"
The Crowd cheered, and the bell rang. This would be a match to remember!
The Final Round has begun! Player Versus Player Matches have a set 48 hour timer for posts. Failing to post in time will result in disqualification. After ten days pass (*10 minutes IC), if a knockout, ring out, and so on is not accomplished, judges will decide a winner.
"Well, can't believe I'm here." Collan looked around, floating down onto the arena. It seemed it was the first to arrive, just like every other time. He never thought he would have actually passed on to the finals. But here he was, ready to fight his final opponent. "I've made up my wish...I want to make everyone I know happy, before...it happens." He knew Chai would leave after this tournament was over, he'd knew he would leave someday every since they first met and the goat informed him that he was from another universe. He knew what Chai had to do...but before he did, Collan wanted to make him proud one last time.
"Alright, Tomoka, whoever you are, come out and face me!"
He would stare, blankly, remembering everything. The pod landing. The fight in the castle. Beppa. Death. All of it hadn’t stopped him. Holes, punched through his stomach. Explosions several times his maximum strength, that he couldn’t do anything against. Even the vacuum of space, death itself. None had stopped him. The best part? He was bound to none, served none. He was a man of his own, and today, he won this battle not for the Mazoku Dominion. Not revenge. Not for his fellow low class trash. Today… he won this for himself.
He’d clench his fist, pounding it to his chest, determination coursing through him, before throwing his arms out, screaming a war cry he didn’t even know he could do. Blinking, he’d look around him, before flashing a grin. “Woah.”
The crowd would roar with laughter, and Tomoka would simply stand rather shocked that he was getting such positive feedback from the audience. “To the victor goes the spoils, but also the love. For a moment.” he would say, beginning to comprehend his position. Not only was he free, not only was he more than capable of winning… people would look back on this match and remember him. He wouldn’t have a statue, but they’d remember his face, what he did, how he did it.
“If you worked with the Mazoku, you could help crush an Empire! Your name would be used in songs and statues would be erected in your honor after glorious combat!" The memory would return, and for a moment, his mouth hung open. Even after all of this…
Tears would well up, only for a moment. Only for a moment would they form, only in a moment. He’d wipe them away, before he’d finally take a look at the clock. A minute and a half, and he still hadn’t properly entered the ring. They could all see him, wondering what he was doing, wondering what he was going to do next. Tomoka, fighting against Collan, for a wish on the dragon balls. Thinking about it… it almost shook him.
He’d take a deep breath, before finally walking into the ring. He’d raise a hand, before bringing it back to his side, a smile forming on his face. This was… it was wonderful. Finally, he'd look across, staring at his opponent, who had only seconds ago raised his voice to challenge him. He'd smile. "So far, there's only one truth I've learned: luck is on my side, fate is on my side, and I promise you that what I do here is MEANT to be!" he shouted, throwing his hand into the air, being met with monstrous cheering from the crowds.
As he brought his hand down, he began pouring Ki into, it, while point with his other at the enemy, forming a mock pistol once more. "Don't make any sudden moves, or I'll end this in an instant. You haven't seen me fight, but I think you can figure out what I can do based on what I'm doing now, can't you?" he would say, flashing a grin, while his other hand, concealed by his back and cape, began building Ki. He'd stay out of his way, or he'd come to attack. Either way, he'd be blasted with energy, and he wouldn't be able to stop him. "That wish is going to be MINE, Collan. The victory is decided before the battle has started, and I've lost plenty of times to know that's the truth, but this is MY day today." he would say, grin widening. "I don't care what I have to do to get it..."
Charging [N1] Red Death! Currently at 33k, will be at 66k next turn!
OOC: HOLY SHIT THAT TOOK TO LONG! I'm very sorry about how long it took, and only after writing this all up have I see that someone posted 4 hours ago XD. Unfortunately, I'm going to be unavailable the entire weekend, so I'd very, VERY much appreciate it if You'd stretch it out so the finals don't end in a DQ, and as for mods and admins, I'd ask you to consider that before ringing the gong. Let's make this a great fight, like none before it in this tourney!
Collan stood in confidence, seeing his opponent finally make his way into the arena. It was finally time, the former white haired wonder was ready to take on whatever Tomoka had prepared. He'd also realize that the opponent he had to go against was younger than he thought he'd be, he was about Pracross's age, but that didn't matter. The, what he could safely assume through the tail and armor, Saiyan warrior began to boast about how the match was decided for him already and that he would go on to get the wish. Collan just smiled though, he would point in the same finger gun fashion as Tomoka did. "Well, you got confidence, great hype man I'd say. But if I wasn't going to put up a good fight, I wouldn't have made it to the finals."
Putting the hand down to his side, red energy would begin to engulf it. "I'm sorry but...you're going to have to work for that wish!" The man rushed towards Tomoka, attempting to throw a flurry of kicks right at him. In the middle of this attack though, he'd also try and do a little extra to hopefully catch him off guard. As he was going with his kicks, his quarter staff slid out of his left sleeved and he grabbed it, going to try and smack Tomoka in the side of the face with it.
Tomoka would register everything, noticing the building energy immediately, and noticing it was large."Shit... it's happening again!" he thought to himself, remembering back to the fight against the lizard witch. He didn't have any techniques, nothing to block this. There was only one option.
He would throw himself at the saiyan, primarily fighting with one hand, blocking most of his attacks, while desperately trying to avoid the blunt force of the staff. His blast had grown, and once he was close enough, he would immediately scream at the top of his lungs, "RED DEATH!" before shooting the blast forward. If Collan were smart enough, he would fire the blast to counter Tomoka's, but Tomoka would have more than enough stamina to avoid the blast altogether. If he weren't, than he'd simply just stop charging the blast at all, leaving Tomoka in an even better position.
He would begin preparing himself, getting ready for the inevitable need to afterimage. If he somehow couldn't, than he would just have to take the blast head on, which he had done before, quite a few times. He was going to win...
Read Death [N1] fired at 66K of charge! Intent is to neutralize Collan's blast!
As the man went with his barrage, he'd though he had already gotten Tomoka on the ropes, but that thought was quickly swept away as he was quickly shot by a red beam. Collan shouted in pain as smoke filled the area, sending Collan flying back a bit before he would stop himself mid air, now covered in bruises. "Agh! You definitely got me good there! Definitely hit me! J-just give me a second!" He would float back down onto the arena and take a deep breathe, and soon exhale, repeating the process three times as a red aura began to surround his whole body now, looking similar to a calmed flame. "Alright, NOW I'm ready!" Before he did so though, he looked down at his right hand which didn't have the bright glow anymore. "Crap..." He whispered to himself, before focusing Ki into the hand once more. "Okay, for real this time, NOW I'm ready!"
So with that, Collan flew towards Tomoka again, this time quickly flying around and back behind his opponent to try and kick him in the back of the head. Hopefully he could just keep this up for a bit longer.
Collan Vixen, I think you're going to need to change your post a bit. You just tanked a little over 50% of your PL (66% of your PL, to be exact) and decided to keep charging. I'm fairly certain an attack that close to your maximum Power would knock you flat, if not at least break your concentration.
You're gonna need to either take the hit fully, dodge, or counter the blast with your own. When the edit is done tag me and I'll give it a once-over to make sure its Kosher.
While I do agree with b0ss’ evaluation of the post, I’m just glad you did what you thought your char would do. Albeit, it was out of the realm of possibility, but hey. Just keep this in mind when you redo that post of yours.
Alright, so I was working on my post, but I got confused. Should Collan still have KP to restart his charge after he used it on the previous one? Just answer that, and I can work out the final kinks in my post.
“Fuck.” He’d curse himself, seeing that Collan had practically shoved the blast off, simply going back to charging. The blast he had just charged and fired wasn’t much, but he knew that he wouldn’t be able to fire an attack of equal strength. “Shit shit shit… can I dodge it? I don’t know, but I HAVE to do something, or else he’ll just blast me with all his power…” he’d think again, before taking a look at the clock. TWO minutes left. He didn’t have much time, but a plan began to form.
“After firing the blast, he’ll have absolutely no strength left in him, which means he won’t be able to dodge… which means that if he fires, and I fire at him, NEITHER of us will be able to dodge…” He’d think, beginning to realize what he could do. “I’m dead already… my body will just fix itself after the fight is over… but he’s alive and well. His sole won’t be in the arena when I’m done with him… no, he’ll be on YEMMA’S LINE!” He’d think.
Suddenly, a wicked grin would appear on his face, and he’d begin laughing as he began to charge his own, crackling red attack. “I’ve WON Collan! You lost the moment you began wasting your time with that pathetic ball of ki. Think about the situation you’re in now, think about what will happen the moment you throw it at me!” He’d shout, raising his hand into the air, the ball pulsing with strength.
“Think about it long and hard, you hear me?! You better think quick to, or else the clock will tick down to zero. Any plan you come up with won’t matter, because like I said: the victor is decided before the battle has begun!” He would shout, rolling the ball along his arms, before raising them into the air. The crowd would roar with approval yet again, and he’d laugh.
“If you stop charging, and you break my concentration with a solar flare, than I’ll just fire the blast immediately. If you use a technique to get out of the way, you’ll have escaped, yet you’ll be out of strength, while I’ll be full of it! You’re already damaged, while I still stand! It’ll be luck that decides how this plays out, but LUCK HAS SIDED WITH ME!” He’d roar in his mind, gritting his teeth together. His ki would suddenly roar to life, his cape being incinerated as he did so, screaming. A year had passed since he had landed on Namek, and that small, insignificant warrior had grown. He would return to hell, revive himself with new found strength, and take revenge, and carve himself out a swath of land which HE would rule. That was his new goal, and he would achieve it, with or without his wish…
[U2] The Red Plague CHARGING! Currently at 66K PL, will reach 133K PL next turn! The intent is, after Collan fires his shot, it will be used to finish him off, hopefully bringing him down with Tomoka! Seeing as how he will have zero KP, it's unlikely EITHER will be able to continue fighting!
Collan stared right at Tomoka, who suddenly began to start shouting like an absolute mad man. The former white haired wonder actually started to think he was crazy. He was right though, Collan was the only one to sustain real damage so far, and Tomoka had a bigger attack than the last one ready. But even then, Collan had still put more energy into his. "Alright...most of what you said might be true but...there's a few things I gotta point out." The man would spread his legs, "You've got no right to say who the winner is." He clenched both his fists, "Luck is only a belief, a belief that I'm not gonna even look at." He pulled his right arm back, "And unlike you...I have a reason to win! I have to prove myself..."
Suddenly, he would thrust that same arm forward.
"I HAVE TO PROVE I'M WORTH IT!"
With that, his signature red beam shot forward, heading right for Tomoka. "Chai, Pracross, Jormungandr, Rinsuji...I'm winning this to show you I can be good enough for all of you" He though, seeing how Tomoka would react.
Attack used: True Sinjin - [MP3] - Fired for 200,000 with the intent of K.Oing Tomoka if he takes it head on.
It was over. There was no way he could lose. “CHECK! BWAHAHAHAHA! That’s what it is, right, in that game with the kings and the queens and the knights? Yeah, CHECK!” He shouted, his energy being poured into the blast.
His grin was wild, his stance was off. It would take barely anything to distract him at this point. But Collan wasn’t moving. He just stood there, the ball of energy still charging in his hand, uninterrupted. He thought about abandoning the plan, but it was to risky. Collan would be able to start charging again, and he’d be weakened.
Shaking his head, he’d begin to focus again, fixing his stance, charging the ball more and more. Now, nothing would distract him. Nothing would stop him from firing the blast. Nothing would stop him from…
The feeling… of assured, complete victory… he couldn’t describe this. Was this euphoria? It couldn’t be… but it felt like it.
No, it was more. It was so much more. Everything he had done, it had led to this. This single, perfect victory. From here, things would continue to go as he wished them. He would become a Super Saiyan, escape hell, make Ginge suffer unimaginable torture. He would build his strength, mastering the Super Saiyan form and pushing past it. He would learn from masters, on Earth, on Vegeta, on Namek. All across the GALAXY he would learn, train, and finally, surpass even the mightiest warriors. It would take years, but finally, he would begin building his power base. Mercenaries, battle hungry warriors. He would gather them, and begin his war of conquest.
Small, undefendable planets he would begin with. Than, he would move onto resource rich worlds, like Kanassa, or any jewels undiscoverd by any major empires. Than, when opportunity struck, he would reach out and begin taking world after world. His armies would strike at anyone who opposed him, and his empire would grow. What he would call it? Thinking back, he would remember his surname… Tomoda.
The dominion of Tomoda. His dynasty would conquer and control all, rule well past his death, which would only be temporary. For when he did die again, of natural causes, a new, younger body he would construct, and escape again he would. The cycle would continue, until all that existed was touched by his grasp…
He’d suddenly throw his head back in laughter once more, before looking to the clock. “70 SECONDS! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You’re going to have to be quick!” He roared, forcing his blast to grow at an alarming rate. Looking across at his opponent, he would grin wickedly.
And suddenly, he would notice something. Collan was… responding? He would suddenly stop charging his ball of ki, not wanting to push any further. Collan’s words… ridiculous. “Luck IS real, that’s what this match has come down to. You can’t win, I can’t win… not without luck, without FATE on one of our side-” he would begin to reply, but suddenly, Collan’s arm would be pulled back.
Tomoka would snap out of his megalomaniacal trance and his eyes would suddenly widen with terror. “No… no no no no!” he began to think, beginning to pour even more of his energy into the blast.
Suddenly, Collan would shout, and the blast would instantly shoot forward. Tomoka could only scream as it hit him, but he would dig his feet into the ground, the stone giving way like dirt to his heel. “GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” He would scream, only the arm containing his own attack escaping it. Tomoka couldn’t see anything, as his eyes were slowly but surely vaporized, along with the body he had spent so long attempting to craft. But he could FEEL where the blast was, and had come from. He knew where his enemy was…
With all the willpower he had left, his screams would momentarily die down, and his arm would move. As it pulled back and thrust itself forward, it would snap off, but the blast wouldn’t go off course. It was directed towards Collan, and there was nothing he could do.
All of it took place over the course of 20 seconds.
When it died down, Tomoka’s completely destroyed body would lay on the ground, almost motionless. Anything he had worn was destroyed, but his extemities were as well- fingers, toes. He could only rasp, and wail. He couldn’t tell if his blast had hit or not, or where he was. He could feel nothing, see nothing, hear nothing, taste nothing, smell nothing…
But there was one thing he knew. The blast was GOING to hit. There was no avoiding it, no escaping it. Not with Collan’s already damaged condition. Not after immediately firing that blast. If it hit, much like it had hit him…
“Only fate will decide…” he would rasp, as he was wheeled off the stage and into the nearest tank of healing gel.
[U2] Red Plague FIRED! With a strength of 133k, it will go straight for Collan, just as his blast hit and brought down Tomoka. With no KP to dodge it, is there any way a K.O can be avoided?
That was it! The round ended in a resounding explosion! Despite the fantastic finish, there was some deliberation to be made. The two fighters had been very closely matched. As the crowds cheered, the judges weighed in. Soon enough, they came to a decision.
