Hello, gang. Many of you have raised questions or concerns over the nature of Project Turbo, formally announced last week. Concerns have been raised over the announced closure of character applications as of October 23rd, in relation to both the upcoming Multiverse tournament and Project Turbo.
With no further delay, I'm here to fully reveal Project Turbo and hopefully allay concerns, or at least questions, over its nature.
Project Turbo is the next full iteration of the World of Dragon Ball roleplay forums that started with World of Dragon Ball: Resurrection back in 2011.
Originally titled World of Dragon Ball: Turbo, World of Dragon Ball is the third version of the site, and the most advanced to date.
It features a new, highly functional grading system programmed into the forum itself. On a per-post basis, you automatically gain experience points (XP) that can be converted into power level or used as currency (replacing zeni, which was often an OOC stat rather than an IC one). The item shop is also greatly improved in terms of usability and selection.
No more waiting on Threads To Grade, folks.
The combat system is in the process of being rebalanced, with some great changes that should make fights far more interesting. One I'm excited to reveal now is a Signature Move addition replacing our Specials, that everyone will be able to create and make their own. While still in the works, it is likely that this system will expand into a School system and replace the Teacher ranks present on Souls.
We're hard at work making non-PL-based characters much more viable, the support and/or supply roles.
There are other, both great and minor, additions and tweaks on World of Dragon Ball.
The end goal is that Souls will transition you, the player base, over to this new and improved World of Dragon Ball sometime after the end of the Multiverse tournament during Spring, 2018. We (being the head designers of World of Dragon Ball, therevolution, Vi-Poi, Bing and Sketch) don't have a hard-and-fast timetable, but we're looking forward to welcoming you all to our new site, one of the most advanced user-friendly roleplaying sites on Proboards and perhaps the wider web.
However, this does mean a fresh start in terms of characters: while it'll be set in the same timeline as Resurrection and Souls, all characters will be new and all stories will be fresh. I, for one, am excited as all heck to see what new faces we see.
I hope you'll join me there.
