It had been no more than a few seconds, the whizzing sound of space debris rocketing through the atmosphere, a cloud of water dispersing underneath the meteoric weight of the astral projectile with the complimentary screaming as the Ki Barrier he had tried to erect had vanished into dust underneath the weight of seared flesh that had fragmented his skin in blistering boils and pooling blobs of black tar that tried in vain to erect some sort of defence only to be evaporated upon manifestation. His skull cracked and pain ran through him as he pulsed through the first wave of clouds, the sound of sizzling steam only aggravating his wounds as the steam built up in his broken space pod before he finally made landing with Flared Earth as his exposed Space Pod shifted and tore through the ground, his body rolling inside with the screams drawn out before finally the thing came to a halt against a couple of trees.
"Oh.... Oh, dear Makai...." He groaned, forcing some level of composure as his mangled body dragged itself from its coffin. Every step a dichotomy of relief and suffering as his exposed flesh made touch with the soft ground, his body laid sideways as he curled and furled from the aching pain as he adapted to his new found condition. "Need... Need a new spaceship..." He groaned, acclimating to his condition as he looked around, the sky darkened and not from his arrival but a brief ray of hope and luck blessing him as the pitter patter of rain drops served their double edged sword, each droplet a feeling of relief of acid touch as he coiled before his skin had finally made its decision, recoiling no longer as he took focus, Ki pooling in his chest as he forced his burnt skin inside of his body, covering it up with a fresh layer of not so vulnerable skin, though the feeling of pulsating blood rubbed him the wrong way.
With his horrible ordeal out of the way, he took in his environment. Padded trails long since journeyed through as towering pillars of green raised and swayed, close to caressing the skies with their sharpened ends. "Hmm..." He paused, licking a finger as his free hand pulled from thin air a large book, fangs laid bare and it growled and gripped. He pressed the same finger he licked against a sharpened tooth, spilling blood to satiate the things appetite before flicking through a couple pages. "I know I have something about this.... Ah, here we are." He muttered as a page describing what environment he seemed to be in was found, running a finger against it to get a better idea of where he was.
His words were incomprehensible, the few things the book new being mostly irrelevant other than where the place was on the planet. "Great. A few days hike to Yunzabit or..." He paused, looking to the darkened skies, those few glimmering rays of light shifting through the dense brush of clouds above before shaking his head. "No. Might still be wanted." He shook his head, looking at his options available to him for the time being. Which consisted of a few worn down paths and no idea of which way these mazes of towering stalks could lead. Sure he could bash and break his way through, but his goal is to get as little attention as possible, which meant forfeiting travelling in style.
Flipping an imaginary coin, he went with the left most path, pinching at the skin at his nape before tearing it off, unfurling and unwinding like yarn twirling off of a Bobbin. The flayed off skin twisted and curled in the air, connected by a red string of ooze as he took his stroll, his Skull concaved and cracked, fleeting into the pulsating flesh and following its rhythm as he reworked his very structure, muscle vanished into scrawny arms and his gorged chest became that of some wretched anorexic patient as some flesh moved with autonomy rising and filling in the poxed holes and bare bone with all the extremities he needed. Some flesh became elongated teeth, dripping with vampiric tones, others filled in the hollows of his eyes, twisting white and popping into existence with grotesque horror as quickly white turned red and dull shades of emerald.
All the while his skin twisted and turned, fluffing out into an ornate jacket to cover his lesser regions, plucking the single final cord of his clothing it quickly zipped through the air, adorning itself around his body with the slap only flesh could make as he finally felt a little less conspicuous so long as no one saw this display. He looked over his newly found flesh, pale skin with few points was blood roamed visibly he held aloft his book, running through the information as he ran his finger into the ground, absorbing and sucking every drop of information like a sponge left in sewerage.
As he moved on, his newly formed legs grew tired, and underneath him blackened darkness rolled out from the creases of his jacket, a menacing storm cloud rolling underfoot as he rolled up onto the thing, laying down and rolling up with cozy book as rain droplets dripped and sploshed against him, forcing the cloud to manifest deeper as a canvas was formed just above him. At this point he might as well ride in a carriage he was so far gone from conspicuity as he moved through the brush of the forest with little idea if he was making progress or if he was even sure he was going anywhere. "They really need some signs around here." He carped, not like anyone would bother to build signs in a Labyrinth anyway. A Blue banner soldier's work was never done, it seemed. Even now, after saving the Bamboo forest he walked in now and trying to help Cloud out, he was sent yet another job. Vi had returned seemingly, so the goat also made a mental note to check in with his boss sometime. Was he alright after the whole incident? Who knew what happened on the distant red planet... Focusing his attention back to the present, Chai turned to Guardia as he cleared his throat. The blade's telekinetic grip had secured itself around a piece of paper, detailing the mission briefings. 'So, pardner, we gonna get to this, or are you still moping about all your work?' The blade questioned, causing Chai to sigh.
'Okay, so, we've got to go to the Shaobao cave, which is just a liiittle north of the Lian River- it's smack-dab right in the middle of Mount Kaya. You know, the mountains nearby?' Guardia questioned, making sure his friend was following this. Chai simply nodded along. "Mm-hmm?" Guardia continued, bringing the paper close to his eye. 'There's reports of bandits makin' there home there. All we gotta do is find em and bring them in. Simple as that, right?'
"Right--"
'WRONG'
Chai blinked, tilting his head in concern. Guardia was quick to elaborate, closing his eye. 'There's reports of a buncha giant in-native demon spiders that poachers brought from Vegeta lurking in those caves as well. So we should watch out for those super venomous buggers.' Chai felt a chill run down his spine. A little spider was nothing big- Chai let them hang around his house to dispose of flies and stuff, but giant ones? That sounded like something straight out of a horror movie! Giant arachnids, quickly scurrying about, trapping victims that no other spider could and sucking their blood right out, all in pitch black darkness. Chai shivered, turning to his partner. 'Aw, don't be such a pansy. You're waaaay stronger than a buncha bugs.' The blade rolled his eye. 'After all, what's the worst that can happ--'
As if on cue, a distraction was sent from the heavens. A tattered spacepod barrelled from the drizzling clouds above, causing the zoanthrope to raise his head. Boy, people seemed to have a bad habit of crash landing nowadays. Maybe they should add more safety precautions and laws to shuttles someday. The blade sighed, quickly catching the goatman's drift. "...Well, might as well check that out before we go to spider city, eh?" Guardia was not amused, despite the zoan's false enthusiasm. 'Eh indeed, Chai.'
After a little walking through the woods at a more leisure pace, Chai's senses locked onto a moderately powerful energy near- it was nothing outstanding, but still enough to be considered a fighter. Yet, the goat was optimistic. He was a smooth talker, and maybe he could have some nice discussion with this newcomer to the planet! Aliens were sure interesting, along with the tales from other worlds they more than likely held.
Grimacing as stormclouds neared in, the zoanthrope quickly picked up his pace. Peering over a buch nearby Earth's newest arrival stood a rather strange looking humanoid, but Chai had seen stranger. He didn't think too badly of the man, appearance wise. Guardia would peer out of his sheath when the zoanthrope initiated conversation, eye narrowed with suspicion. "Hello, stranger!" Chai quickly chimed, strolling over. "I, uh, noticed a pod crash down earlier- hard to miss. Was that yours?" He cocked his head to the side. "If so, uh, welcome to Earth! Or welcome back. I dunno." He shrugged. A echo of thunder caught Chai's attention. His attention briefly turned to the storm-- right, there was that now to deal with alongside spidery errands. "I, uh, have some errands to run soon, but if you want, you can stay at my place to wait out that storm."
A groan echoed again. 'Godammit, Chai, why are you so freakin' nice?' Guardia huffed, eyeing the supposed human fiercely. Chai just shrugged with his signature smile. "Because why not?" The sword's eye widened, twitching with irritation. 'This guy could be a bad and you know it!'
"And if that's the case, you and I know what to do."
'...Fine. Continue.'

The sound of faint footsteps in the background registered, an eye bouncing back and fourth only to see the towering stalks of green around him as he scanned through the pages of the book, gorging himself on what little knowledge it had. "Hmm... Still wanted. But also left at one star." his tongue clicked a couple times, he didn't know whether or not to feel offended or jovial. "Oh well. No real problem I suppose. As long as no one picks up on my signal I should be good." He continued, curling up on his cloud of darkness with the book tightly clenched in hand before hearing the sound of chatter getting closer, ignoring it as he doubted he had been identified. On Earth, everyone was a hundred fold stronger than him, and being notied like this seemed out of the ordinary.
Of course, he had been wrong before.
Their chatter continued, his eyes opening as he rolled over on his bed, head cocked on a closed fist as he looked them over with mild curiosity. Great. Another unknown race. Just... He internally sighed as his pinkie scratched against his hairless chin, a brow raised as he watched them enter a tirade of converse. "Hm? My space ship... Um.... Hmm...." He didn't know how to respond, if he talked honestly he could get arrested, yet if he got caught he could be taken in for questioning and no doubt this one like all the other Earthlings were monolithic in power. "Yes?" In the end, he clutched to honesty, feeling more confident that he could worm his way out of this predicament with enough laced words, whether honey or venom he had yet to decide. Though honey was looking mighty tempting, with a kind offer of a place to stay his brow raised and eyes narrowed. "This...." He paused, his legs unfurling through his bed of clouds, departing from the sway of his movement as he took a step forward looking them over and getting a closer inspection. His burnt eyes running over them, his gaunt features far more pronounced as his sagged skin radiated a sliver of heat from the burnt flesh. "Offer seem-" His words cut thin, a bounce to his step as he took to a retreated step. His head darting left and right as he tried to pinpoint the sound of the new voice. In the short time Chai had to respond his gaze was already fixating every which way, his words a mile a minute in incomprehensible speak, a few words of Demonic Origin of an archaic time. Then he caught a glimpse of the offender. A blade, sheathed. His eyes properly narrowed, his clothing visibly pulsating as the words of Chai fell on deaf ears. Glaring at the thing with utmost scrutiny as an eye broke from the tangent looking at his book as it grew disgruntled with its extended use. A finger betwixt between the parchment, twisting back and forth through the fluttering pages with refined motion as he fell on the page of Weaponry. His gaze never broke and indecipherable murmurings continued from the infant Demon.
He scanned through the page, the weapon was... Unfamiliar. Most demons weapons tended to be silent, and the few that did talk tended to have a habit of either being horribly cursed or having the soul of a Makai trapped. Which meant if this was the latter; His gaze quickly drew up, looking at the goat with a hidden layer of fear if this one did in truth hold a Makai at its beck and call. Taking a few steps back as he recomposed himself in the presence of both a Demon God and its handler. I could be.... Extremely wrong about this. His features visibly grew static as he looked to the sword and then to the towering owner. But if I am right. I sure as hell don't need to be on a God's bad side. He continued, rationalizing his fear of what could very well happen. It had seemed the Demon Blade had become placated by this goat like creature and that alone was an even more terrifying concept.
With his steps firmly taken back, his eyes broke from his book, turning instead between the two and reaffirming his composure and focus. "Sorry for that...." He paused, taking a quick bow towards the duo, an arm curled against his chest. If Xylo was ever to invade Earth, these two would be the largest threats opposing him, provided he was correct in dealing with a Makai and a God Controler. "I don't believe neither of us has been introduced yet. My name is Dantalion." He trusted that his name would fall under the radar, a one-star bounty would never even have its attention drawn to these two. "Please, may I have the pleasure of knowing both of your names." He inquired, his every word laced with honey over venom since, at this point, he was ready to run dealing with this lot. Chai

Chai nodded along in response to Dantallion's response about his spaceship. "I see..." He put a hand to his chin. The demon did seem apprehensive with his response... Maybe he crashed here by mistake? "Well, uh, if you crashed here by mistake, though, I can get one of my buddies to give you a ride to where you need to be." Chai spoke. He'd offer to give a ride himself, but he lacked a proper spaceship to get to places with. "I digress. I hope you enjoy your time on our Earth nonetheless, friend!" Chai remarked again in a chipper tone.
The zoanthrope's offer to stay at his place was responded with a tentative step forward from the odd man as he seemed to eye the goat up and down. Chai's arms swung to and fro placidly, though Guardia's sudden butt-in seemed to shock the fellow demon. The blade raised his brow when the man seemed to flick through an odd book of some sorts. 'Wow, what a dweeb.' Guardia briefly remarked at the apparent bookwork, rolling his eye. "Be nice, G." Guardia's eyerolling only intensified, which was soon to be followed by a sarcastic raspberry and a glare to the goat.
Chai took a step forwards, quickly catching eye of the man's static unease. "Uh... Are you okay, man?" He tilted his head, briefly eyeing the book Dantallion seemed to be so invested in. What was in there, anyways? Questions for later, Chai presumed. When the goat's guest came back to reality, he'd apologize, presumably for zoning out weirdly in that book. "It's cool, don't worry about it." Chai remarked with a dismissive wave. Guardia remained silent, his critical gaze unblinking.
Dantallion, as the man called himself, quickly gave his name and asked for the duo's identities in response. Chai tilted his head, brows furrowed with some concern. His tone wasn't all placid, that was for sure. "Oh, my name's Chai-- I'm a member of the Blue Banner Army's KAOS division!" The goat introduced himself, before lowering a hand and gesturing to the sheathed weapon. "And this is my partner, Guardia. He's, uh, a demon actually also! G here just got stuck in a sword when his spirit tried to escape from Hell or something." Chai decided to clarify- A lot of people had misidentified Guardia, causing more annoyance in the blade. 'Oh, come on Chai. You know how embarrassing that is!'
"Would you rather have been born a sword and never have limbs, a mouth, or senses in general to begin with?" Chai narrowed his eye, a frown briefly replacing his smile. Guardia let off a telepathic sigh, defeated. '...You got me there.' Guardia's usual confidence returned quickly, his eye glancing up at nothing in particular with a sparkle. 'Still, I'm sure my amazing powers will return someday! And you'll get strong too- strong enough, eh?' Guardia nudged his partner's side with his handle, earning a smile and a nod of affirmation from Chai.
Chai turned his attention back to Dantallion, briefly flinching when another, much louder echo of thunder crashed from the nearby storm. "Oh, that looks bad." Chai chirped, biting his lip while glancing back at the flickering clouds. "...So, uh, my offer still stands. Wanna crash at my place?" Chai twiddled his thumbs with another grin. 'We have a Baotendo Swap! And a bunk bed! And a roof!' Guardia chimed once more, still sitting in his scabbard.

He tapped his fingers wildly at his leg, he wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon. He had work to do, loose ends to tie up and most importantly resources to gather. He let the pause draw out as if contemplating in a deep state about his response to their overly kind offer. It had all been kind and it was starting to leave him rather befuddled as to how to respond. His first trip to Earth was met with either indifference or radical fear, though the latter only really extending to a single instance; with a single drawn out breath, he finally answered the question he had let hang for so long. "Nah. I... I think I will be fine here for a bit. Get a feel for the place." He continued, it might be a prime time to get some information for when or if Xylo ever decides to strike out on Earth.
The sword made a brief remark, him being a dweeb but that was soon to be rectified. Their names uttered, a subtle grin parted across his face as it almost literally slipped from ear to ear his finger elongating as at the tip of his keen finger dropped a pustulent slime that bubbled and boiled at the touch of the few rain drops that descended from the skies, leaving a hissing 'Tssss' in response. His finger brushed and scrapped, the sound of bone on vellum auditing as he wrote down the duo's names on separate pages. "You may call it 'dweebish'." His words nonchalant and rather amused by such an awry comment from a Makai, though maybe word of the Mystic Folio's had simply not reached whatever corner of the hell-pit he came from. "I call it information gathering." He responded, letting the ball of slime move and shift across the page as he listened to the daggered words swapped between the two.
He pressed his book against his chest, taking in a deep breath as he heard the words roll. BBA. It sounded important, especially if the thing had its own separate Divisions. Or it was simply large enough to have its own, and large tended to mean important in his experience. He pressed the bottom of his hand against his teeth, the sound of bone tearing flesh audible as he peeled it back, letting roll flesh droplets of blood, splashing against the page as the cantankerous book began to press its fangs into Dantalion's chest, his fleshy clothing holding it back until finally it was fed; Following this little outburst, he inquired further, "BB... A? Never heard of them. I have heard of Chaos. But not BBA." He questioned, followed up by the all so delightful question. "So. You went to Hell. How'd ya die?" He was sure it was a rather vile question, bringing back memories of the horrors of death, the suffering in those few final seconds but a slip up happened to the best, and Dantalion was far from one of them.
It was breathtaking, watching a battle of wits be engaged between a Makai and a being no doubt folds greater than he. He would have expected a little more venom to drip from the duo, but it seemed this Makai had long since been placated, amused by the idle banter of the upper worlds. Responding only with a raised brow as the sound of thunder erupted, the patter of rain intensifying into a proper clap of thunder as Chai once more reiterated the idea of staying at their place, the Makai pipping up about some Baotendo System. The fuck is Baotendo? His eyes met Chai proper as if trying to decipher the clues played along before giving up since he lacked the determination. "What is a Baotendo?" He inquired, behind him, his cloud had already begun to worm and slither its form shifting as it raised itself from the ground, hovering a few feet above the duo as it stretched out, keeping the rain and possible lightning from striking the duo as to not impede their current conversation.
