Name: Muda (literally based on the Japanese word for "uselessness")
Alias: Bastard, Disgrace, Useless. He stopped keeping track of every insult directed towards him, but these are the most common.
Species: Hera-seijin
Gender: Male
Age: 23 years old
Appearance:
Muda is an insult. An insult not only to his family but to his kindred as well. While most Herans boast an impressive muscular stature and a ravenous appetite for violence, Muda seemingly possesses none of that. Born weak, the child was meant to die shortly after his birth. Scrawny, his skin rests on his bones with very little apparent musculature or body fat. Frail, the man appears as if in a constant state of fatigue, reddish bags under his deep blue eyes contribute to his general expression of tiredness. All these elements combined with a very nonchalant demeanor make it look like the simple fact of carrying his body around is a laborious task. His facial features are not as hard looking as other males. In fact, he possesses a smooth skin with soft lines, effectively granting him a more androgynous look.
While he is comparable in height to most other Herans, the similarities end there. The teal-colored skin is replaced with a grayish blue which is rarely seen among the members of the clan, mostly due to genetics. A recessive gene held by some Herans way before their imprisonment and a usually seen as a sign of weakness and impurity. While he was born with orange hair, his father made the decision to dye it neon green, as a somewhat cruel reminder that he was different. That he did not belong to the nomadic clan. Even now he keeps his hair green, at shoulder length, used to it after all that time. To add injury to insult, his father carved two words, one in each palm of his hands. On the right hand, the word “shame” is written in traditional Heran dialect while his left hand has the word “useless” inscribed in it. These scars have healed since long ago, but are still very much apparent.
He dresses in the usual attire. White Harem pants held at his waist by a red silken sash, a sleeveless unbuttoned jacket showing off his flat stomach and ribs. He wears three necklaces of different sizes, the longest one reaching as far as his mid-stomach, the second one to his chest and the third one to his clavicle. They belonged to his father once and are generally held by a clan’s leader as a sign of authority and power. Various ornaments are present, mostly precious metals like gold or precious stones.
History: And so, he was born, the third and last son of Kushi, chieftain of a nomadic clan of Herans who journeyed across Hera. A clan so heavily influenced by the traditions taught to them by their ancestors that they fell behind with the modern Heran society. First of all, they valued strength above all. The strength of an individual, but also the collective strength. For one, the fortitude required to keep going day after day and secondly, the strength to defend themselves from the dangers of Hera whether it was the local fauna or other clans clashing with them. It was indeed a hard life, but they took pride in their ability to face the odds and come out on top, so much in fact that it was considered an honor to be able to fight for the community. The younger warriors would quickly become obsessed with the idea of getting more and more power that lead to some form of elitism within the clan. Not everyone was equal and the strongest members had more privileges than anyone else. Which brings forth the second point: they possessed an absolute disgust for weakness. It was simply not allowed to show any sign of it. Should they face their end against a more powerful foe, they would do it with their head held high and no second thought. Those who failed at this simple task were deemed unworthy and exiled or simply killed on the spot because it wasn’t what Heran aspired to be. It goes without saying that given their unique point of view on things, they expected nothing but greatness coming from their soon to be born child. The Fate Readers also sensed great things ahead for this very special child. Whether they were right or wrong, Kushi didn’t seem to care, but he would very soon find his hopes shattered in an instant.
His birth was met with horror, quickly followed by disappointment. It was three months before the due date that Muda was born. Sickly, small and frail, the child had nothing going for him. Usually, newborns were chubby and healthy, but that was not his case. It was pointed out to Kushi that it was probably due to the fact that the baby was premature, but he would not hear anything. He was born with a light blue skin that seemed almost gray. He knew all too well what it meant. Weakness. He had conceived what he resented the most in this world. Out of shame, he asked that his child should be killed, that he could not bring himself to have such a stain on his glorious bloodline. The Fate Readers had lied to him or so he thought. The idea however lingered in his mind. Perhaps this was only a test, a trial that would cement the kid’s strength should he succeed. If he was to die because of his constitution, then it would most likely happen within the first few weeks. Until then, he could keep it a secret.
But this kid survived and after each passing day, Kushi’s hope that he would somehow recover faded a little. He had to tell the others, after all, it was in their rights to know. But to admit that his wife gave birth to such a… a thing would bring great embarrassment, not only to his name but to the clan as well. That this weak, feeble infant somehow had his blood running through his veins, even when faced with the evidence, he could simply not comprehend. While he dangerously flirted with the idea of killing him, something kept him from doing so. It was not the kid’s smile, nor was it his innocent stare. No, it was an opportunity. The opportunity to make an example for everyone. That perfection was but a mirage, an oasis that lay there, out of reach. That everyone had weakness within them which they must overcome in order to be true Herans.
He presented his kid as such. It was his mistake, a very humbling one at that. His desire to have the best offspring possible failed in the worst possible way and he showed him to the whole clan, holding the sickly child by the neck. A mistake he would carry with him until he died, but more than that, this child was a warning. “This”, as he would call him, was the very opposite of what Herans should strive to be. To make sure everyone would not stray from the path of the strong, they would keep this thing with them. As a reminder that it could be everyone else and that he would not tolerate this to happen again. And so, he called the child Muda, a pathetic weak excuse of a Hera-seijin. He was the very embodiment of failure, a being that was hated as much as it was looked at with disgust.
Muda was a silent child. In fact, he did not speak until he was six years of age. Always confined to the family caravan, rarely did he get to communicate with his kindred as he was not allowed around people. Most of his time was spent trying to understand the world around him as no one would teach him anything. He never learned to read or write and he practically only lived by proxy, picturing himself in place of other people. He was only allowed to eat once everyone had finished and could not participate in community activities. While solitude left him scarred, especially when surrounded by so many people, he had much difficulty interpreting what he felt. It was mostly due to the fact that no one had even bothered teaching him about these feelings inside him, leaving him wondering with these sensations meant. After some time, he started thinking like everyone else. That he was indeed a failure, something to make a mockery of. He accepted the idea fairly quickly, even. The thing is, once he had sunk enough to hit rock bottom, the only way to go was upwards. He cared very little about what others would say because after being repeated times and times again, it no longer held any meaning to him.
As he grew up, he tried understanding himself as an individual. A being with no purpose, a vessel to contain the hatred of everyone. That much was a given, but surely he possessed something lying deeper within himself. Through meditation, he reached out for that “something” that would be his and his only. He discovered potential, possibilities. Wasn’t he, after all, the son of Kushi? He and his wife were brilliant fighters, the best within the clan. Some of that potential must have been passed onto him. As the years went by, Muda slowly started tapping into this inner strength, making it his own while staying far from the suspicious eye. His body was capable of more than he thought; the only thing is that he lacked was a sparring partner. One time, still acting in secrecy, he mustered up all his courage and provoked a kid into a fight with him. At this particular moment, he felt something incredible. It was the thrill of the fight, the desire to push beyond, to eradicate and to humiliate his opponent. The Heran could barely comprehend all of these strange emotions welling up inside him, but he did want to explore them, to experience even more. The result is to this date uncertain, as no one could believe that Muda was capable of defeating a real Heran. That’s when he understood that as long as he was himself, he could do whatever he wanted; no one would believe him anyway. He learned to stay weak, heavily restraining his real strength and his urge to fight.
Time went on as he focused mainly on refining his strength until the fateful day where two clans clashed. The planet was very inhospitable and resources were often scarce. When such conflicts emerged, it was often out of necessity, the need for survival outmatching any sense of belonging to a species. It was especially true for Herans and their thirst for battle. Something that Muda learned to contain, unlike everyone else. The outcome was pretty clear and the reign of Kushi met an abrupt end. Muda who chose to hide and came back to a gory battlefield. Seeing his dead father, he removed the necklaces he wore as a chief and kept them to himself. He did not feel sadness nor relief. He felt nothing. He was never part of the clan after all. He was finally free. Free but lost. Lost in a world in which he had no direction, no purpose. He did not understand much of how the world worked in the first place or how to communicate properly. He had no choice but to forge ahead, with the only certitude that something was bound to happen someday. In truth, it was the only thing he could rely on.

Muda hi there. Your stun interrupts a charge. You can't have it immobilize + interrupt. Fix that please. Also, who are the Fate Readers? If they're you're own lore, that's fine, as long as they don't have a position of prominence within Heran society that other people would have to know. Once you've done those 2 things, start your BP.

Hey, thanks for pointing these things out Vi-Poi! Fate Readers are basically fortune tellers. I wanted to stay in touch with the gypsy vibe Herans have, like mentioning they were nomads and living in caravans. They serve no real purpose honestly and at first, I wanted to go with the term "fortune tellers" but I couldn't, for the life of me, remember what they were called in English. So the name stuck. I can change it if needed, that's no problem. As for the immobilize + stun effect, it's my bad, I got confused on the use of stuns here. I gotta ask though, are immobilization effects allowed for variant moves? For now, I'll just change it to something unrelated to both effects.
