Articho watched as Gira vanished upon her Aether Cannon touching her. She used an afterimage to dodge the attack, a clever technique that worked exactly as she intended. Gira reappeared directly in front of him, but with his own speed, the hybrid easily saw his pupil coming. He gave her another wink before vanishing himself, leaving only his jacket for her to grab onto as she reappeared next to her. The ground was quickly speeding towards the both of them as Arti gave her a goofy smile, his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth. "Race you to the ground!" he shouted before rotating his body towards the sky. Time to give a little demonstration of what he planned to teach her.
Articho cupped his hands next to his hip, a blue ball of energy forming between his palms. "Kame...hame..." he shouted, the blue glow of the energy ball steadily growing brighter. "HAAAAAAAA!" The hybrid thrust his hands forward, the beam launching from his palms and shooting up into the sky. A blast of force pushed him downwards, increasing his falling momentum and sending him rocketing towards the ground. He looked towards the ground, seeing it grow closer before backflipping and landing on the ground. The force of his landing sent a shockwave through the ground, tossing a shower of rocks and sand into the air around him. A steady stream of dull thuds sounded as the debris landed while Arti stretched his arms above his head and waited for Gira to join him.

Gira's eyes widened in shock as her sensei vanished from sight. She looked at the jacket in her hand. 'W-Where?' Before Gira could truly wonder about where Articho went, he reappeared next to her. After giving her a goofy smile, he challenged her to a race to the ground. Gira smirked confidently and prepared to propel herself towards the sand when her sensei's energy caused the hybrid to be distracted by what he was doing. She watched in awe as Articho cupped his hands to his side, a blue sphere of energy forming between his palms.
Gira could only watch as the Turtle Hermit unleashed the awesome power of his school's signature technique, the immense force propelling him towards the ground at great speeds. Gira watched the spectacle as she fell out of the sky, snapping out of her trance just long enough to land safely on the ground. Now that she was on solid ground, the teen bent over for a moment, trying to catch her breath.
After a few seconds, she straightened up, wiping the sweat off her brow. An excited grin spread across her face as she ran to meet her sensei. "Wow, that was so cool!" She stopped in front of Articho, giggling gleefully. "Are you gonna teach me how to do that? That would be awesome!" Gira's eyes gleamed with anticipation and excitement. Articho had her attention now for sure. Gira then came to a realization. "Oh, here ya go." She casually tossed her sensei his jacket.

Articho stretched one arm across his chest as he watched Gira land on the ground next to him. He caught his jacket as she tossed it to him, dusting it off a little bit before sliding it back on. "I think it'd be safe to assume that the Kamehameha was the ultimate goal for today," he replied, waving her over closer towards him. "Today's training was about establishing a strong base. It translates over to the Kamehameha, in that sense. It's a basic, but powerful move that will get you started on the track to mastering the school's techniques." He gave her a confident grin and a thumbs up.
"I can walk you through the motions, but you'll pick it up super quickly. It's a fairly simple technique to learn and it's easy to adapt for various situations," Arti explained. "If you want, I can give you a few demonstrations of what I've developed myself, just to give you some ideas of what you could come up with!"

Gira hurried over to Articho as he gestured for her to do so, listening to his every word. The Kamehameha was apparently the most basic of the school's techniques. Even with that being the case, it sure was flashy. When her sensei talked about walking her through the motions, Gira thought back to when he used the move minutes ago.
She tried her best to copy his stance. The first attempt wasn't very good, her footing was off entirely and her hands were cupped awkwardly at her side. She looked at herself, disappointed. "Hmm... maybe..." The hybrid shifted her stance a bit. It looked better, but still not perfect. Then she attempted a third time, widening her stance and cupping her hands at her side.
This stance was very close, but Gira looked just as disappointed in herself. "Yeah, I think I need some examples." A grin quickly found its way back to Gira's face. "It would be useful anyway. I would definitely like to see how that move can be adapted and changed."

Articho watched her try and position herself in the stance for the Kamehameha, waving his hand dismissively at her attempt. "Your stance isn't that important when it comes to this technique. For the most part, all you really need to do is bring at least one hand back," he instructed, turning to face out the ocean, but continuing to look over his shoulder at her. "Like I said, it's an easy technique to learn and it's easy to adapt for different purposes. You can burn your opponent, stun them, punch right through their barriers, and all sorts of other stuff."
The hybrid looked back out to the ocean, drawing his hands back towards his hips again. At first, a blue orb formed in between his palms only for it to change to orange in color. "The first thing I'm going to show you is what I call the Flame Kamehameha, which I developed so I could escape from prison by burning through the wall." He smirked, hoping the sudden announcement of his stint in Knutts would give her a bit of a surprise. Flames began lapping at the sides of his fingers. "Now, watch closely," he said. "Kamehameha!"
As he shouted out the attack's name, he thrust his hands forward. An orange beam with fire curling around its sides and a dragon's head extending off the front of the beam. It shot through the water, cutting a gash into the ocean's surface. Steam rose up off of water as the beam dissipated over the water.

Gira watched with intense interest as Articho brought his hands to his side once more, preparing to show off what he called a "Flame Kamehameha." Then came a shocker; her sensei was apparently an escaped convict! Her eyes widened visibly for a moment, then she laughed nervously. "I hope you didn't kill anyone!" She joked. While it was meant as a joke, she really said it because she was looking for a confirmation. While there was no way she would cease training with Articho over something like that, she would still like to know if she was learning from a convicted murderer.
All of that was soon forgotten, however, when Articho unleashed his attack. "Woah!" Gira stared in awe as the flames lit up her eyes with their orange light. "Awesome! I mean, the breaking out of prison stuff was kind of concerning, but that was SO AWESOME!" Gira grinned confidently and gave her sensei a nod. "Okay. I'm gonna do it. This time for sure." The hybrid took a deep breath and faced towards the ocean. 'Okay, I gotta have at least one arm back... but I think i'll do it how Articho-sensei was doing it.'
The hybrid assumed the stance. 'You got this, Gira. You got this.' She stared out over the ocean as she remained in her stance. "Kame..." Gira focused her energy in the point between her two palms. A point of light shone brightly for a moment before expanding into a bluish-white ball of energy. "Hame...!" The ball swelled with power as it filled the space in between the hybrid's hands. "HAAA!!!" With that one last roar, she thrust her arms outwards. A beam of energy the same color as the energy ball burst forth from her hands, parting the water as it rocketed ahead, vanishing in the distance before a soft rumble could be heard, a blue light shining on the horizon.
Gira simply stared ahead for a moment in disbelief, still in the pose she was in after firing the attack. Soon, however, a smile formed on her face. "YES!" She shouted joyfully. Gira leaped into the air and held her fist high in triumph. "I did it!" She turned back to her sensei and grinned, giving him a thumbs up.

Articho laughed at Gira's shock of his announcement of his time in Knutts, shaking his head in amusement. "No, I haven't killed anyone. You'd be surprised at how rare that gets as you encounter stronger and stronger foes," he said, rubbing the back of his head. "I got sent to the Saiyans' space prison Knutts cause I did a bit of a number on their Prince Luffa. But, no, I haven't killed anyone. I did die, though." Articho said it rather nonchalantly as he looked down at his hand wraps and tightened them, as well rubbing off a bit of soot.
The hybrid watched as Gira went back down into the stance, which she managed to get recreate perfectly. He was glad she managed to get it down since it really wasn't that hard and he really didn't want to have to go back on his conclusion that she was his best student so far. Gira had incredible potential for where she was, making him excited to help her realize the latent power he could feel was in her. "Nice job! I think it's safe to say you've got this technique down. But, it's not like it's very hard to do that," Articho said, crossing his arms over his chest as he walked over to her. "Your training is only just beginning and I've got more complex things to teach and test you on. Understand?"
Articho turned towards his house and floated a few feet off of the ground. "Go ahead and take off the shell and gravity belt. There's a button on the buckle that will turn it back into a capsule and you can just leave the shell here. I want you to rest for a bit and give your muscles time to recover," he instructed, looking at Gira over his shoulder. "Why don't you come on back to my house and have some lunch? You've earned a good meal and my mom's the best around for feeding Saiyans and their kids." He smiled warmly before flying over towards the island where his orange and blue home stood, waving at his student to come join him.

Gira blinked and looked over at Articho when she registered what he said. "Wait, you died? How'd you manage to escape death? That's gotta be an interesting story. Not to mention that stuff with the Saiyan prince. It seems like you've really lived." The half-Saiyan grinned at her sensei. Then he mentioned that her training had only just begun. Gira grew even more excited by this. If this was only the beginning, she was excited to see just how far this path would lead and to where she would end up.
Giving Articho an enthusiastic nod, the half-Saiyan bowed respectfully. "Yes, sensei!" Once she got the go ahead to take off the shell and belt, she straightened up and dropped the shell first, setting it onto the sand. "Phew! That's a load off!" She rolled her shoulders and stretched. Next, she pressed the button on the side of the gravity belt. In a plume of white smoke, the belt was put back in its capsule. Gira caught the little container and tossed it to Articho.
Now that she didn't have the shell or the increased gravity weighing her down, Gira hopped around on her toes a few times to test out how she felt. "Incredible..." She smiled and looked down at her hands, then threw a punch in the air. She felt twice as light as any feather now! It was absolutely amazing. 'I wish I could have done gravity training earlier. Who knows how much stronger i'd be right now?' Once all was said and done, Gira received a welcomed invitation to a meal.
The intense training did well to wake up her appetite. The mere mention of food caused her stomach to growl audibly. When it did so, Gira giggled, her cheeks turning pink with embarrassment. "My stomach says yes, please!" As Articho flew off, Gira flew in a hurry after him, landing nearby. "After you." She smiled.
Gravity belt deactivated!

Articho shrugged at Gira's question about how he escaped death. "I didn't really do much. Just some weird energy manipulating bullshit and getting smacked in the head by a giant red ogre," he explained. He gave another shrug at her follow up about his fight against Luffa. "I guess that's one way to put it. I've done my fair share of stuff, probably a lot more than what a lot of people can claim. It was actually during that fight that I reached Super Saiyan, but it wasn't against the Prince. It just...happened, I guess." The hybrid really didn't like to think about the true nature of his life. It confused him as to the sheer strangeness of it all and sometimes even made him think he was going down the wrong road. He wondered what it would have been like had he not pursued martial arts and beating his father the way he did. Where would have have been at this moment if he hadn't done so?
Articho caught the capsule containing his gravity belt and pocketed it. He smiled at Gira's enthusiasm to receiving a free meal. "Well, if I didn't think you were a hybrid before, I certainly do now," he said with a laugh before pushing the door to his house open and walking in. He spotted his mom sitting with Pasley at the table, feeding his little sister the weirdly colored baby slop Pasley seemed to adore. "Hey, mom. Having a guest over for lunch, one of my students if you don't mind whipping up some lunch. I'll feed Pasley, if you want me too."
"Alright. It probably is time to start making lunch," Yoguri mused. She stood up and walked into the kitchen as Arti took her place at the table and picked up the spoon and baby food. Pasley reached her chubby, baby hands out towards her older brother and gurgled with a smile on her face. Articho smiled back as he lifted the spoon to his sister's mouth. "One of these days, I'm going to have to teach you how to cook."
"We all know how well that went last time," Arti replied, looking back over to Gira. "The wonderful woman making our lunch over there is my mother, Yoguri Reville." Yoguri gave a cheery wave to Gira as the young hybrid looked back to his sister. "And this is Pasley, my baby sister." Pasley gurgled again, some of her food dribbling out of her mouth which Articho pushed back in quickly as she reached out to Gira as well.

Gira listened as Articho explained how he got out of hell and told her about how he went Super Saiyan. He spoke about it so casually, but Gira had a look of wonder on her face as she listened to him speak. 'He's a really interesting guy. I hope I can get to do half the stuff he has.' Gira thought back to how her life had changed so drastically these past six months. Ever since she decided to embrace her power and train, she had seen many incredible things.
Fought many incredible people too. It was definitely the right choice. As Articho entered his home, the hybrid followed behind him. The inside of the house appeared cozy-looking. It was definitely peaceful. Way more peaceful than living in the city. Gira took off her shoes as they entered the house, finding somewhere out of the way to put them. Then, she took a seat at the table with Articho. When her sensei introduced his mom, Gira smiled and waved back at her sensei's mother.
"Yo. I'm Gira. Thanks for making us lunch." Then Articho introduced his baby sister. Once the little one reached out to her, Gira slowly put her finger up to her if she wanted to grab onto it. "Hey Pasley." Gira smiled at the baby girl before looking up at her sensei. "She's cute. I don't have any brothers or sisters to play with. I have my best friend, Kaci, I guess. We're not related though. Plus, we're the same age." Gira chuckled and scratched the back of her head nervously with her other hand.

Pasley grabbed onto Gira's finger, wrapping her chubby fist around it tightly and giggling. A few strands of her pink hair fell into her face, which Articho quickly pushed back up. "Yeah, she was a surprise for me, too," he said, giving her another spoonful of slop. Pasley ate it, though she was still focused on Gira's finger, moving it around and changing her grip on it. "I found out my mom was pregnant with her after I, uh..., got back from my training off planet. And here we are, three months later." Articho cursed silently after finishing his sentence. His parents still didn't know he had died and trained with King Kai in Heaven. For all they knew, King Kai was some random alien that had taught him some techniques and that was the last of it. He hoped Gira wouldn't say anything about his dying on Konats while they were eating.
It only took a few minutes for Arti's mom to come back to the table with a plate stacked high with hamburgers. It didn't take much longer for Arti to inhale one and start on a second one. "As usual, absolutely delicious," he said to his mother. "Why you never started a restaurant, I'll never understand." His mother bowed her head in appreciation.
"I was too busy keeping an eye on you and your antics," she replied before sitting down, gently prying Pasley's fingers off of Gira's, and returning to feeding her. "I hope they taste good enough for you, dear," she told the young hybrid. "Don't be afraid to ever stop by for a meal or to take a break if Arti gets too rough with the training, alright?" Arti rolled his eyes, but didn't reply, his mouth too full of hamburger to do so.

Gira nodded after Articho told her about how he came to discover his mom was pregnant with his sister. "Oh, that's a pretty cool surprise. I came as something of a surprise to my mom too. She was on her way back to Earth when she found out she was pregnant with me." As her sensei's mom approached the table with their lunch, Gira could smell it. 'Oh Kami, that smells divine.' Gira sat up straight, preparing to get down to some serious eating. Once Yoguri set the plate of hamburgers down on the table, the half-Saiyan dug in, finishing her first hamburger in two bites before moving on to the next.
"Thanks for the food. It's really good." Gira smiled at Articho's mother. Once she got started on her third hamburger, Yoguri invited Gira back again for a meal or just to take a break if training got too rough. The hybrid swallowed her food in one big gulp. "That's very generous of you. Thanks. Articho-sensei knows how to put together an intense training regimen." She turned next to her sensei. "It's fun though." Today in particular was fun.
While she enjoyed her initial spar with the Turtle Hermit, today was by far the best training session she ever had. Gravity training, a rather fun game of tag, learning a new technique... today was incredibly fun and productive. After she was done speaking, Gira grabbed a fourth hamburger, devouring it almost immediately.

Articho grinned as he watched Gira dig into the hamburgers. "My mom is a top notch cook, especially in large quantities. She knew my father for a while before I came around and she was cooking for him all the time." He lifted another burger to his mouth and wolfed it down, before nodding towards his mother with a smile. "Practice makes perfect, but forced situations makes experts!" Yoguri simply rolled her eyes as she kept her eyes on Pasley.
Articho blushed as Gira referred to him as "sensei" in front of his mother, a sheepish smile on his face. Yoguri laughed as her son's reaction to the term before looking at the younger hybrid. "well, we don't get too much company out here, so visitors are always welcome," she said. "Just be sure to not let him push you too hard. I'd hate to see a nice girl like you get really hurt. I hope he's not the one who put you up to the little 'sensei' title you're calling him." Articho nearly opened his mouth to protest, but a look from his mother silenced him.
"Let's just enjoy lunch for now. I'm certain there will be more time for training later," Yoguri said with finality. After a moment, Articho smiled and nodded. It was a good end to a day of training, with lots more to come in the future. Gira was getting awfully close to Super Saiyan levels and he really wanted to help her reach that. He just hoped he wouldn't have to push her too far to get her there or accidentally hurt her too much while he did it.

Gira was in the middle of her fifth hamburger when Yoguri mentioned how she'd hate to see her get hurt by Articho pushing her too hard in training. She smiled and giggled. "Don't worry. I'm real careful. I'm a lot stronger than I look, too! Also, the sensei thing was my idea. I've never trained under a martial arts master before, so I guess i'm kind of getting into it." Gira chuckled nervously before going back to the hamburger in her hands, finishing it in two massive bites and then revisiting the plate in front of her for a sixth one. "Mm-mm! Delicious!"
Once Gira was finished with lunch and talking to Articho and Yoguri, she said her goodbyes to the two. "Articho-sensei, i'll be back real soon. I'm gonna train real hard and get super strong! Next time you see me, i'm gonna be a lot stronger." She smiled at him. "I wanna learn everything you have to teach me, so I won't be gone too long." She levitated into the air, hovering a few feet off the ground. The half-Saiyan turned towards home as she prepared to fly off. Turning to look back at Articho, she waved goodbye. "See ya later!"
With that, Gira rocketed into the sky, heading in the direction of her mom's house in West Capital.
Thread exit! Thanks a lot. :3 I'll be taking PL w/ x10 gravity for this one.
