My body is shaking, not because of the cold, but because of the fear. That message i had received, it was from a saiyan in an elite class. the boy who's wanted my dead since my father's mishap. "Oh, gods, oh gods...!", my voice was empty, dry, and worst or all shaky. A sign of fear, made quite evident by my voice, the one thing i was hoping wouldn't betray me. "Okay Parry, calm down, maybe they aren't going to kill you, maybe he really is apologizing." I always heard lying to yourself is a bad habit, but i might as well start thinking positive, after all, i still have my saiyan pride to look after, so i might as well go down acting tough.
My teeth are clattering now, maybe it is just the cold, though i can't complain. The breeze feels so good and my stomach does not. I shake my head furiously, slowing my flight to a stop. "God dammit! This can't be happening, I'm going to die!" If there were any other saiyans around, I would've been seen as not only the son of a traitor, but as insane, and my family cannot take such a heavy title again. I recover my structure and continue my flight, the thought of my father still stuck in my head.
Why would he want to betray? The Acrosians were no threat to us, our race has been growing and we're powerful once more, so why? Thoughts like these have always been in my head, I question everything about my life has lead to. I'm a middle class warrior and I still get pushed around like a low class runt! Kids, adults, elders, all acting like I'm nothing because my father! Are they stupid?! I'm nothing like him!
It suddenly occurs to me that my anger has forced me to fly too fast where I almost miss my destination. I fly down to a slightly grassy area with a bit of cliff and canyon like structures. I examine the area with caution, being careful for the ones out to get me... Luckily, for now, I'm alone. Leyanch, Tamoto, Henrish, and Kale, all higher classes than I, who have always treated me and attacked me when I was little. I can still remember the first day I was beaten by those filthy creatures that think they're so much better than me... I've lost count how many times I've come home with new injuries...
"Hey guys, look, it's that punk who tried to get his dad to kill us all" This voice belonged to Henrish, the response to it was Leyanch. "Hah, he looks really upset, maybe we should go comfort him?" "Comfort? When did you become a softy?" Kale owned this voice. Leyanch looked back at his friend and eyed him with a harsh stare. "You know damned well what I mean, you fool." Kale grinned, his eyes sharp as he eyed his prey, me.
"Heyyy there, buddy pal!" Kale rushed over beside me, the posy not following far behind. "Uhh, s-sorry, I don't feel so good right now, I... I gotta go" I attempted here to subtly increase my pace, recognizing immediately that the people mean no good. Suddenly, a body blocks my path, Kale. Here is where I manages to get a good look at him and his now surrounding crew. They were all no older than I was. Kale looked about 15 while his friends were around 13 to 14, meaning they had all the mean to kick down someone who's only 11 and still feel accomplished. "What's wrong, buddy, feeling sick? Daddy issues?" They all laughed except Tamoto, how never seemed to talk at all. "Don't worry, kiddo, we'll make sure you get home to mommy safe and sound, alright?" I nodded in agreement, as if I had choice to begin with.
The walk was about 10 minutes before it was over and we found ourselves in an abandoned, partially destroyed city. "I think ya took a wrong turn, Kale! I've never seen this place before!" "Never? good." Next thing I know, there's a set of arms around my neck and another set hitting themselves into my stomach, then getting tossed in a pile of rubble. "Ya know, kid, most people fight back, or are you scared of something?" I couldn't talk, my lungs felt like they were being crushed by breathing, and that was before Henrish slammed his foot into my stomach, knocking any breath i had in me, out. I don't know how i remained conscious, but i wish I hadn't. They left me there, gasping for air, coming back and doing it again any day they found me out of the house.
I'm tired suffering to these four monsters that we consider our race...
Back to Now
My breathing is calm and I can hear the footsteps of approaching people. My guess was obvious on who it was. I stand up from my meditation and turn to two saiyans, which surprised me, I expected them all... "Hello, Pracross" Henrish smirked and waved over-exaggeratedly. "Where's Kale? I was expected he'd show up to do this, but it seems he sent his best lackeys" "Lackeys? You calling me a low class?" "Might as well be, from how obedient you are to him." Leyanch popped his neck and laughs. "Oh, please, he's just running late, and this wasn't his idea, it was mine." "Oh! So you got promoted to head lackey? Great to hear!" "Oh-ho-ho-hooo, I'm so glad I finally get to shut you up for good, this is so annoying"
We stand there, silent, with Hemrish's occasional hum tune, until two more people fly down from the sky, one with a big grin. "Kiddo, I missed ya! How's the mother? Still heartbroken? Yes? No? Don't really care, I only care about whether or not you know why we're here." It gets quiet once more and I look at the elites, clenching my knuckles as I prepare for an all out massacre. They probably will turn this into a game of "Who can rip up the runt fastest?" I take one last shaky breather before nod and prepare myself. "Good, good... Leyanch, go ahead and kill him." The muscular, tall one steps forwards. leaning over me by a couple of inches at least as his laugh, that ugly laugh, pierces my ears. "This is going to be such a bitter sweet."
Leyanch examines me, popping his knuckles. The statue of bulk swings, astonishingly fast for a man of his size, landing a blow straight across my face. Wh-what?! He just... hit me?! I can feel the pain but it hasn't registered to me yet that the fight has begun until another brutal punch slams into chest, forcing me to fall ground, where Leyanch attempts to stop my skull, failing as I roll away in time. I quickly stand up and rub my mouth, finding blood already being spat out. He's been training for this moment... I take my fighting pose and wait for the heathen to run at me, which, as expected, he does. Suddenly, everything seems slow. He's coming at me, but yet he's barely moving. Is this adrenaline? The feeling that boosts you in a desperate measure? or is this something else, deep down...? Rage, focus, sadness, whatever it is, I can feel it building up. I decide to embrace it, and look at my task at hand.
I jump to the side, avoiding the charge, looking at my now exposed target. I find myself in front of him before I realize it, hitting the side of his head with my palm, then jamming my elbow to his neck, sending him to the side, then stopping him with a wall of force. To a normal, untrained Earthling, this would have snapped their neck, while to a Saiyan who's been pushed beyond his limits, this was the equivalent to a light jab. "I have to say, Parry, I'm impressed you hit me, but i won't allow it anymore..." The Behemoth recovered easily, standing back up and rolling his neck. He started to fly up, so I followed suite to reach agreed terms. We then stood and waited for the other to move, which eventually lead to both sides to charge as we entered a clash.
"I can't see what's going on, where did they go?! They just vanished!" "Hemrish, that joke is so old, please don't start that"
My body, soon bruised and stained by combat, was launched to the ground, creating a small crater, a perfect fit for my body. As I sit back up, Leyanch is slowly flying down, his body bruised, beaten, and bloody as well, though he was hiding behind his smile. "Leyanch, your power dropped, what happened?" "Don't worry, it's just the masking technique." But it wasn't, he was getting tired from using the technique that gave him the muscle to beat me, he was attempting to amp his power so he could kill me with ease, but he seems to have failed the technique... meaning...! I jump up and point at Leyanch with a rock in hand, "He's exposed!" With all my might, I throw the rock and hit it across the bulking figures forehead, successfully hitting and forcing him to grab it in pain.
"You damned, rugged brat! I'll kill you for that, you ignorant-" Leyanch looks up to see a fist heading straight for him.
Horosha Strike!
The hit forces the man back, all the way to the ground, where I take opportunity once more and kick him in the gut to keep him down, revenge for the many times he's done it
"W-woah, that attack... Was that a special attack?" "No, you idiot, Pracross, just hit him as hard as he could and shouted something to make it sound cool, I swear, you're such an idiot" "Hey! Am not!" "Hemrich, Tamoto, go, you're both up" The hyper, slender boy and the large, overweight, yet still somehow flexible... thing... step up next. "You got it, boss" "Remember, whoever kills him first gets the money prize!" I knew there would be a game involved! "So, is it not too late to talk about this?" I smile awkwardly as the boy draws a sword from the sheathe at his side and the thing adjusts his body. "Go"
Hemrich didn't hold back, he dashed forward with his sword and brought an onslaught of slash after slash, but i refused to let it touch me. This carried on for a full minute, the boys arms were obviously getting tired and so was I, and that's when I heard it. It was like the sound of pure agony condensed into a ball of energy... Oh, that's because Tamoto is using break cannon... Wait, what?! I turn to the source and see he's about to shoot, then I look at the boy still striking at me. "Dammit dammit dammit...!" I start to move my ki to my hands as I look down Hemrich, looking for any opening to attack. "What's wrong, Pracross? Getting tired?" Wait, does he not hear the break cannon being charged?! Then that'll be my opening! I focus on my breathing as the boy makes one final slash before-
The sound of a deadly ki blast is found from the creatures mouth, a yellow beam shooting straight at me, catching Hemrich by surprise. "What in the hell...?" NOW! I slam my foot into the side of Hemrich as hard as i can, knocking him back and giving me barely just enough time say-
COSMIC BEAM!
I shoot a purple beam from my finger tip, focusing half my ki into the laser, enough to keep the blast away from me, just long enough to keep him occupied long enough so that I can transition between Hemrich and Tamoto. I grit my teeth as I feel myself losing the battle, so I focus 70% of my ki, pushing against it desperately. "come... on... come.... oooon..." I can't tell who's winning, but i can definetly feel the nergy of the area rising as if someone who charging their ki... The earth around us is rising up slowly... but... it's not one of the two I'm dealing with, and Leyanch should still be out cold... so it's... oh no...
VOLCANIC VOLLEY
The sky starts to fill with orbs of ki that slowly fall down like snow, when they touch us, they feel like nothing, like a waste of a move... no, i couldn't be... Kale with such a useless move or does it have different use? "Wait, boss, this move... You'll kill us!" "From the service you three have given me, you have been found useless to me and shall die here, it seems that if you want something done, it must be done yourself..." The beam on the other side ends, so I end mine in curiosity and fear, looking around at the red snow like ki. It's not doing anything... how is it supposed to kill us? But I spoke to soon. The ground underneath us starts to split and beams of ki blast out of the ground. My instinct took in and I shot up, avoiding the rang of the blasts and looks at the three below... 3? Where is Kale? There was no time to search, or even speak, for the ground was consumed by red beams, obliterating the three up into ash.
"Are... are they dead...?" The beams have stopped and everything is quiet... Kale is nowhere to be seen... I heard there was a technique to sense ki but I never thought it would be useful to me, yet now I realize how valuable a skill it would be. I examine the now destroyed area and grit my teeth. "I can't believe this... How could any person be capable of this?" "You're not very bright, are you?" I jolt around quickly to see a smirking Kale, with his arms crossed. "You honestly think THAT'S powerful? I've heard stories of people who destroy planets with basic techniques, they were so strong that by charging their ki, they could move mountains! this small display is nothing compared to them, but I don't mind that, any challenge that comes my way, I'll fight them and become stronger, expanding my power until I become stronger than those blood thirsty ladies we have in power now.
Is he really monologuing? or is he kind of just talking to himself? either way, it was weird. "So... are you here to kill me?" He looks at me as if he was surprised by the question, then grins bigger than before. "I mean it's not like you could kill me, you could barely hold your own against Leyanch, though i had told him not to use that technique, it would've made him weaker the longer he was in it, and you guys were up there for a solid 23 minutes and 17 seconds, honestly, I was more surprised you came out less injured than you had... You must have been getting stronger from your saiyan blood, you know, the whole "brink of death makes you stronger" Do elite class people just monologue a lot when they're about fight? I don't understand this... "Oh, right, you probably want to get down to business, you body must be killing you from dodging that sword" He holds his hand open, in it, a senzu bean. "Eat it, I want this to be as far as I can, what's the honor in bringing down a wounded opponent?" Wait, didn't he JUST kill 3 wounded people?
I decide not to question it much longer, other wise he might get sick of waiting. I take the bean and toss it in my mouth, munching on it slowly, and by the time i swallow, my body recovers astonishingly. I look down and my hands, then start to stretch. I learned when I was younger that senzu beans could restore your energy and health, just by eating one. I would've never guessed it felt like THIS! "You done?" I look at Kale, remembering the task at hand once more. "Uh, yeah! Yeah..." Kale sighs, and tilt his head to the side. "You better be ready, cause this is going to be painful" Wow, I feel so much better...
The time to be sarcastic didn't last long, as pain seeped into my gut from a punch Kale had thrown. This punch was twice the pain from Leyanch's first strike. I can't believe he's had this much power and I've never noticed it. Has he ever used it on me before? In a previous fight? Maybe he's never shown it? I didn't have much time to think much more into it as a second fist follows after the other, forcing me to fall back and hold my stomach, my breath barely managing to keep itself in my body. Wasn't Saiyan armor supposed to help me with these situations? I don't know anymore, but I do know that if i want a chance to win, I need to get on the offensive!
The next blow that is swung at me, this time for my arm, maybe an attempt to break it, but for some reason, it's slowed, just like before. This feeling, maybe it IS adrenaline... who know? I duck under the swing, then jump up, fist balled up as I hit his jaw, knocking Kale back a couple of steps. "Ohhh MAN that felt good" Kale smiled and pops his jaw. "you actually got some bite kid, too bad it's got to go to waste."
He charged, his fist glowing, he's using a technique...
Kurassharasshu
A hard jab to gut, then a combo that varies around my chest, that ends with an upper cut and spike, sending me flying back down into a canyon. The pain is unbearable, but I still force myself up. The impact had carried through the area and now the small canyon i had fallen in is crumbling apart and falling. "W-woah!" I shoot up out of the collapsing area and look at Kale, who is popping his knuckles. "He must really want me dead to start off with a technique. a waste of ki, but that's okay, I can do that, too" I shoot towards Kale, building up speed for my punch, expecting him to block, but yet he doesn't move. I punch him full force on the shoulder. Kale, even after full force, doesn't budge. "Iron Guard, the technique that cancels out any physical blows damage by strengthening your skin to that of, well, iron." He smirks again, making me sick. Can't I just finish this? No, if I use my cosmic beam now, he'd dodge it or even counter it, i have to where his energy down... So I punch again, this time, he jumps back. "Hey there kid, watch it, I don't have my guard up anymore!" Exactly my point, you idiot!
I punch at him, hitting the side of his waist, then swing again. A miss, so I try again, another miss. If I keep up a barrage, then maybe he'll get tired, that is, if I don't get tired first. I get into his personal space and focus on htting him as hard and as fast as I can. He dodges a majority of my hits, but some do land, causing him some harm, but not enough to stop him... yet. I keep my flurry of fists going, scanning his body for any opening... He's trying his hardest to avoid openings, smart, but that keeps his mind busy with multiple tasks. He could be dodging all of my attacks, but he's choosing to hide his weak spots... weak spots...! His tail! How could I forget about such an important weakness! Tim to change the strategy...
I keep my fists flying, waiting for that perfect chance, that perfect opening... When it happens, it's such a small opening, but I can see it, the pattern, the timing of that leg that sticks out a little to far when I strike up with my right arm, It's there... Just gotta... time... this... RIGHT! I swing my leg into Kale's causing him to spiral in the air, giving me the perfect chance to throw a solid punch at his stomach, stunning him. Now, quickly! I jolt behind him as he regains his structure and grab his tail, sticking out with pride. "Wait, what are you-" I don't let him finish. I pull as hard as I can and Kale goes silent. His body is still, in such agonizing... He's more open then I'll ever get him! I hold up my finger as my ki builds into it.
Cosmic beam!
The beam fires into Kale's back, piercing through him, along with pushing him, sending him flying into a canyon... dead, most likely.
I... I just killed someone... I never expect that I would ever attempt such a bold thing, or that I would ever do it in the first place. It hits me, the people will find this scene eventually... I had to get away. They'll think that I ended up like my father, they'll think I'm a traitor! I have to get to the space pods, I have to get to Earth, quickly. That's the one place that i'll trully be protected from my blood thirsty race. It's time to move, and just in case if Earth is just as scary, i'll get a training pod and work up my power... It's the only way I'll survive, now that I am a wanderer...
