The light had flicked on upon the dark room, causing her to wince as her eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness. Silently she watched as the policeman who had taken her in sit down upon the opposite side of the desk she sat on, fidgeting slightly due to her nerves. He was the first to break the silence, “Where are your parents little one? What is your name?” While his tone was firm, hesitation was within his eyes as he stared at the young woman. She found herself whimpering at his tone, akin to one of a scared child. He sighed, “I’m not here to hurt you or get you in trouble, I simply need to know who you are and where your parents are.”
Finally, she spoke although in an almost inaudible voice. "I'm not a child, I'm eighteen years old. My name is Mizuna." The police looked slightly taken aback by this revelation but continued to nod in response. "I want to go now, I didn't mean to cause all this damage. It was an accident!" Looking as if she was on the verge of tears the policeman sighed and shook his head.
"With the way you look and act you seem like a young girl, although looking at your records you aren't one." Placing a few files upon the desk he continued to speak, "Destruction of public property huh? It's incredible how a young woman like you can cause so much damage." Glancing over the desk he flinched as something caught his eye. "Are you a saiyan?" He asked hesitantly. Mizuna paused for a moment, taking a minute to think before she shook her head.
"Only half." While she was still nervous, Mizuna found herself breathing in a less erratic pattern and was able to twitch the corners of her mouth into a small smile. "My father is fully saiyan, but my mom is not." Absentmindedly she waved her tail back and forward, the policeman nervously watching it almost as if he was afraid she would turn into a dangerous beast at that moment.
"Human?" She shook her head, watching the policeman pick up a pencil and wrote a few words. "Are you affiliated with the Saiyan Solar Empire in any way?" Another shake of her head was the answer. "Your records do say you were born on Earth so I'll take your word for it. But may I ask you why you decided to cause so much public damage that had endangered the lives of so many people. That little 'incident' of yours could have had us mistaking it for another attack. You're lucky it happened in a small town like this or else things would have turned out a bit more differently." Nodding once more, Mizuna shrunk down in her seat a little out of fear. "I wouldn't be surprised if someone thought this was another attack. But I have to admit, you did manage to bring in a wanted criminal around here. One that even the strongest of policemen wasn't able to take down. Was that your intent?"
Mizuna found herself nearly on the verge of tears again, but still found the courage to speak. "It was all by accident. I just found myself wrapped up in the situation and I had to do something. I really did not mean to cause destruction I'm so sorry!" This time she did begin to cry, tears rolling down her face.
The policeman placed his hands onto his face as he made a grunt of exasperation, "It's hard to believe that you are actually a legal adult... Care to explain the entire story for me?" Mizuna nodded, wiping away her tears although unable to choke down a few sniffles. If she wanted to tell her story as coherently as possible she had to stay calm, but the situation at hand made her eyes water up. Fortunately, he was patient enough to wait for her to relax. Finally feeling as if she wasn't going to freak out any further she began to recount her story.
---
It wasn't a very sunny day that morning as the clouds littered the air. Yet despite the sun being hidden behind the thick clouds, the people of the city were up and quite lively. Mizuna had arrived here the previous day, wanting to see if there was anything that would catch her eye. From what she had seen so far, it was rather quiet, almost feeling as if it were one of those towns in which nothing happened in. She felt her stomach growl in demand of more food, giving a small sigh in the process. Looking around for a nearby restaurant, she began navigating towards the many alleyways the city had to offer. It was difficult not to get lost but, she would somehow manage to see the light of the open street, but just as she had arrived at the opening a rough hand pulled her backward and another clamped over her mouth before she could even scream.
She looked up in fear as two very muscular looking men scrutinized her rather closely. "No, no. We can't have you going out in broad daylight can we?" The man gave her a grin, as the other began to force her hands behind her back and bound them. "We're going to take you somewhere fun young girl. Somewhere you will never see your parents again." Tears began to overflow her eyes at this situation, the other man called out, "Um boss? What is this?" With a rough tug, the man pulled at her tail. Pain was all she could register for a moment causing her to black out for a moment, finding herself on the ground. The two men flinched for a second, fear clearly showing in their eyes before they put on their rough exterior again. "Saiyan huh? Should sell for a good amount. You don't see Saiyans in the market often, I'm sure her customers would love it." Her eyes widened as she noticed what the phrase meant.
The hand lifted from her mouth before she began to cry out, "Please leave me alone. I don't have much money. I won't report you to the police if you do, just- mmmmf" She was abruptly cut off as the disgusting taste of a dirty cloth wrapped around her mouth only allowing her to make muffling sounds. The hand was placed firmly on her tail, giving it small tugs as she tried to struggle only causing her weakly to flinch... so much pain.
"Yeah shut up already. Think of this as payback for what you did to Earth, saiyan scum. We'll be making money in no time!" The larger man laughed. The two dragged her towards a vehicle while the other one took a firm grasp on her tail so she would not be able to struggle much. Mizuna began to panic, unable to control her own sobs. What should she do? The two had an advantage when they had a hold of her tail, but if they could just let go... These bindings weren't that powerful and she could possibly escape... But if she were to escape then it would mean someone else would suffer in her place. Was it truly just to allow another to suffer in one's place? She had to think fast, the vehicle was getting closer and closer until she was just a few steps away but the grasp on her tail was as firm as ever. Was there simply no escape? An idea popped into her mind at the final moment. Just as they opened the door to the van and was about to push her inside, she stuck out her leg as quickly as she could in front of the smaller man's. He stumbled a little, loosening the grip for a split second but that was all the time she needed.
Quickly she reacted before he could keep a hold, thinking back on the words that she learned during her training with her father. Freeing her hands from their restraints, she then quickly slammed her fist into the man's guts he suddenly stopped, completely releasing the grip on her tail, and immediately she shielded it with her entire body so that it would not be grabbed again. The man growled. "You bitch" He exclaimed, the other larger man began to react trying to make a grab. Thankfully his enormous size had hindered his movements slightly, giving her the speed advantage in this scenario. Immediately she had jumped into the sky in order to fly away from them when a voice stopped her. She didn't want another woman to take her place, to be sold off into the unknown. Biting her lip, to her surprise she saw the larger man flying after her. So she wasn't the only one who could use ki...
Having no other option, Mizuna took a deep breath and began to ready herself. This was a real fight now, no longer training. While she still felt as if she wasn't ready to fight still, she had no other option. Moving close would be a suicide move, at that moment a ranged attack would be the best, however she was scared. While her physical strikes she could have some accuracy where they would strike, her ki blasts were unpredictable. Even in training, they were as accurate as an if someone tried to throw a ball into a small hole a hundred meters away. She could only just pray to whatever god of luck there was and try.
Placing her hand in front of her, she was shocked by the sudden flow of ki into her palm and had little time to react before it formed a hot ball before it grew out of control. Before she could even properly aim, the blast exploded in front of her in her full power, hitting a nearby building, causing debris to fall upon to the floor but most of all, missing the large man who didn't even have to dodge the attack. He scoffed as he charging at her. "You think that's something." She was able to dodge out of his way before she moved right behind the man, sending another fist at his back. Surprisingly one would think a large muscular man to be tough, but her attack was able to cause him to slam roughly against the road, causing damage to the paved floor. If people had not noticed what was happening before, now this would definitely catch their attention. People immediately cleared ways as the muscular man manage to get back into the sky. "Damn brat" He screamed as he tried to charge after her again. Once again she was able to dodge him thanks to her speed, however this time her dodge were getting slower.
Mizuna was getting exhausted from dodging his attacks. It would only be a matter of minutes if not seconds before she was hit and it would be the end for her. Having no other choice, she tried a risky technique. As he flew towards her direction once more, she placed her hand right in front of her. The hot sensation filled her entire palm as the sudden energy gathered. The muscular man scoffed. It wouldn't have been surprised if he thought she was going to miss again, even she was unsure if this attack was going to hit its mark. Just as her blast was once again fully charged, a fist connected with her own stomach knocking the wind out of her sending pain all across her gut. However, she had also managed to place her hand right in front of his face and released the blast, allowing her to hit him point blank. The two were knocked back, although the man launched back even further. Taking a few moments to recover her breath she waited for him to fly back with another attack but to her surprise, he did not return.
Scanning around the area, she also noticed his accomplice was nowhere to be found either. Thinking she was finally safe, Mizuna descended upon the ground where she took a seat on the ground, exhausted by this entire ordeal. It wasn't long before sirens filled the air. She would find herself surrounded by the city's police. "Place your hands up where we could see them." They screamed as multiple firearms were pointed at her direction. She complied with what they said, but her sobs which had faded during the fight once again resurfaced, leading tears to once again flow back down her cheeks as they took her into custody.

"I see, the damage you caused was in self-defense?" He asked her as he began writing down a few more words. "You can't control your own power so you accidentally destroyed stuff in the process." Hesitating for a moment, being caught off guard by the question she began to think. While she would not have worded it in that way, it was essentially what had happened. "Well, I'm glad you are safe at least. Ramu Izeral has been known as a trafficker around here, managing to make off with many women in the past. It was rumored if he got his hands on you, you were never to be seen again. He specifically targetted young women and girls just like you since he believed he could over power them along with his henchman, Wanton Lankstar who we also found a few streets down as he attempted to escape from the fight scene." Taking a look at her he nodded. "Is that your full testimony?"
"Yes," She replied, sniffing before wiping her tears with her sleeve. "May I go now. I still haven't eaten my breakfast yet. I already told you what you know." She fidgeted in her seat slightly as she spoke.
The policeman shook his head. "Not yet. Even if your story was completely the truth it still hasn't excused the damage you caused the city with your little skirmish. I'm afraid you're going to need to help pay it off along with Ramu himself once he is out of jail. Do you understand me?" She slouched a little before nodding. "Well since your fight did bring in a wanted criminal, it brought down the amount you owed the city by a considerable amount." He said flipping the folder in front of him a few times. She nodded slowly. "This leaves you with about this much." Placing the folder in front of her so she could see what was written, he pointed at a number which caused her eyes to widen slightly. "Now this isn't that much if you consider how much you owed before you received the money from the bounty but it is still about a month's work. Are you willing to accept this?"
Having no other choice, Mizuna nodded. "Yes, I understand and take responsibility for the damage." Holding her head low, the truth slowly settled within her mind. She was going to have to get a part time job in order to pay off the debt. While she would not have wished to get a job in order to first start off her journey, a warm feeling found itself within her chest. Even if she was going to have to pay off some money in order to repay damage she cost this situation had possibly the best outcome from what could have happened. If she had not stayed and fight, more women would have suffered. Ramu and Wanton would still be around causing chaos. Even if she had to face some consequences and she was in small trouble with the police, she still brought in a wanted criminal and helped others escape a fate that originally could not avoid. In Mizuna's eyes, starting off her journey of self-discovery on a note like this only made her feel hope for what is yet to come.
Finally, she spoke although in an almost inaudible voice. "I'm not a child, I'm eighteen years old. My name is Mizuna."
