“There’s this really large franchise in South Capitol! It’s known as the Cherry Valley Loft! I’ve heard that it’s one of the world’s greatest vacation locations.” The girls seated around the table were getting loud as they chatted about mundane things. They all got quiet as a girl their age strolled out from behind a curtain, carrying three plates of food. She set them down with a flourish in front of the teenagers, before flashing them all a smile.
“Sorry for the wait! The best Chinese food in West Capitol, at your command, Mistresses!” The girls blushed, as the maid spoke to them in such a bold manner. Unbeknownst to Chaya, she’d been labeled the Maid Prince by girls from her former high-school and the local precinct. It wasn’t a huge change from the Delinquent Prince she’d been after beating every delinquent that had badmouthed her friends. But, with her change in outfit and mannerism, her title and the way she was received had been changed for the better. The girls whispered among themselves as the maid turned away, taking the tray with her.
“Hey, Old Man...you ever hear of Cherry Valley Loft?” The blonde girl set the tray down, sitting on the stool as the old man mixed ingredients in his old wok. The man paused, before lifting the metal container off the stove.
“That was an old place my mother had a rivalry with in the past. The owner’s name was Artus, or something of that sort. What’s with the sudden interest?”
“I’m taking a vacation, Old Man!” Before the old, Chinese man could finish his explanation, the girl was already sprinting out the door. She grabbed a wok on her way out, setting it on her shoulder as she ran. Strolling slowly up to the huge buildings, with its sprawling grounds, the maid tried not to be in awe. This was a huge contrast to the reserved Chinese restaurant she worked at. She looked at the hand-drawn map she’d gotten from the sailor she’d ridden with here. The Restaurant was located a bit further on. Glancing back up, the blonde maid grinned and started forward. Pushing open the doors, the young maid strolled up to the greeter. “I’m here to work at your restaurant! Is the boss in? I’d like to discuss the standard expected here!” The blonde girl lifted the wok off her shoulder and set it on the ground next to her foot, smiling.

(Hey, sorry about the delay! Lets do this!) (Thread PL: 242,443) (Dorgia and Eres Thread PL: 121,221.5) Business was quickly getting back on track, even after the first day of being in town had been resulting in adversaries of Alaistair turning up and finding out they'd still lived! The Devil, since then, had been aiming to develop his resources further, wanting to get Arthus's pay to get rolling as quickly as possible. The funds from that first night were still to be counted and collected, but for the most part, Alaistair figured it to be successful! The reputation of the Cherry Valley Loft, after all, had spanned many years! Centuries, even! Alaistair and company were working with assembling a new work crew. Alaistair was observing the new faces, trying to determine who'd be more useful outside of just working at the Loft in more precocious jobs. Dorgia had been giving those working at the bell service a list of objectives to accomplish, while Eres had taken those aiming to work at her bar and kitchen to the very locations, spouting insults, both playfully and angrily, to identify those she was satisfied with and those that she didn't like. This negative reinforcement caused some of those cooks to leave, but those that stayed were getting praise and why those colleagues that left were bad at what they did and how to avoid their mistakes. "She doesn't have many subordinate workers, but I suppose it can work," Alaistair thought, looking at some of those leaving. Some looked a little rough around the edges, as though their skills laid elsewhere! He was going to bring one individual over to the side when a surprisingly energetic woman, dressed in what looked like a maid-cafe outfit, had approached Dorgia at the front and requested an audience with Chaya about the standards here, a wok in hand! Dorgia, the craggy granite-looking old man in the brown suit and hat, looked over at Alaistair, who had been at the bar counter of the restaurant, with a nudge to the kitchen. Alaistair walked over to the neatly lit entrance hall of the hotel where they were at, looking over Chaya himself. Was the girl a cook of sorts? It also made Alaistair think she was a performer of sorts! "First, and foremost, ma'am, we'd like to interview you," Dorgia spoke up with his old voice, pulling a digital pad with an application on it, "Identification and experience is what we ask you to tell us. Please fill out this form and the interview will be conducted with Mr. Alaistair himself!""That would be me," Alaistair stated aloud, a hand behind his back and the other outstretched to shake her hand, "If you would to like to sit and fill out this application while we conduct this interview, we can head over to the lounge over to our left!"The room he identified was a very large on, with a gargantuan fireplace that seemed capable of holding 10 people of Chaya's size inside. Its interior looked as though it had been modified greatly, a modern day Konatsian design that was very reminiscent to the palaces that could be found hidden in the Fortune Teller's desert! Gold etchings along deep red colors, with a stage where 4 men: An Arcosian on a silver and glossy black saxophone, a Human with red hair at a microphone who'd been dancing in place and singing a jazz song, a Namekian playing bass, and a Konatsian man on small drum set that he seemed to be playing very nicely. The song they were playing was a sad one, like what you would hear in the Noir-esque soap opera shows while the character was narrating his thoughts! "OH! Could I get your name?"( Chaya Black, here ya go!)

Chaya’s blue gaze traveled over the old man who addressed her. He mentioned something about identification and experience, which the girl started to give, but was interrupted. He introduced her to the ‘boss’, who immediately made the girl pause. Whoever this guy is...he definitely knows his way around a fight. My gut tells me that’s the case. Maybe he knows something about the Maid League and the Fated Five! But that’s something to ask after I’ve landed the job and earned myself a place here. The man who’d been labeled the boss spoke to her, holding out a hand for her to shake. She took it firmly, but without squeezing in a rude fashion. She listened to his next statement, before taking the piece of paper. It was a simple form, asking for stuff like home of record, age, contact info, all of the basics. She was led into a new room, that was grand in size and scale. The fireplace alone was bigger than the kitchen the Chinese Dragon had, which just added to the awe factor. She stopped gawking after noticing the band; a fine touch, but their song wasn’t one to promote a cheery mood that a real restaurant should have. Maybe this is the gambling room? Even then, negativity tends to draw people away from poor choices and cheerful spending. Not my place to question, though! When the boss asked for her name, the maid scrawled it in large letters on the block within the form, before holding it up with a huge grin for him to see. “The name’s Chaya Black! I’m also known as Maid Black in my line of business, for obvious reasons, Mr. Alaistair!” Her confident tone rang out throughout the room, lending a small bit of cheerful light within the foreboding, somber room. She spun the form around in her grasp, before starting to fill out the rest. “As for experience working, I’ve waited tables at the Chinese Dragon for 2 years, along with running the orders, register, dishes, and occasionally cooking when the boss was out for around a year. I’m a professional with open-fire cooking, woks, and Asian food. Other types of food I’m okay with, though my other specialty lies in making any form of heated beverage. Ciders, coffees, teas, I’ve made almost all of them and know all the trade secrets.” Finishing scrawling the last bit of info into the form, the girl grinned at him and held the form out towards him. “I can tell you’re a smart man, Mr. Alaistair, so I’m gonna skip the formalities and ask what sort of tests you have for new employees.”
Looking forward to working with you! Alaistair

A firm handshake was given! One that showed some restraint, as to not squeeze the hand. There was good strength in her hands, probably due to her training as a cook! This put a smile on his face, as she introduced herself as Chaya Black, with a simple nickname of Maid Black. She was a cheerful and dexterous, as she confidently spoke about her experience being in waiting tables at a place called the Chinese Dragon a couple of years, on top of various other experiences. The name partly fell from Alaistair, but only due to it having been a while and having undergone much in the last few years. Dorgia, however, perked his head up, upon hearing this! "The Chinese Dragon," Dorgia clarified to Chaya, "It's been some time since I've heard of that name! How has Mai been doing?""You know of this business, Dorgia," Alaistair asked, releasing her hand and straightening himself as he looked to Dorgia. The old man nodded with a smile, stating, "Of course! The young lady had been a rival of the ol' Loft for quite some time!""I see! So you were rivals with that old wind bag, Cesaire," Alaistair stated aloud, as he guided her to the lounge for the two of them to sit. It seemed that Chaya had quickly finished the form, handing it over to Alaistair, who took the data panel form and handed it to Dorgia for him to look over later! She was quick to compliment Alaistair, but was even quicker to talk about what sort of tests the employees would undergo! He told her, "That is quite dependent upon what you are seeking! Right now, you've clarified that you're more or less a restaurant worker, so those tests would be directed by Eres, our hot-broiled chef that is, to be honest, kind of quick to temper. She takes her work very seriously and has shown herself to be very judgemental of the people that work in her kitchen. In the past few hours, having had about ten people go into her kitchen and bar, she had about 7 people have their spirits be crushed and only 2 of them had been open to improving their skills as chefs and bartenders. The others left in, admittedly, emotional states, but this is because we have some very high standards to uphold..!"Alaistair leaned to her ear, and gestured her to move closer so she could better hear what he had to say in a whisper. "And to be honest, wearing an outfit that makes it seem like you're going to fall out of the dress, or light up on a stove ain't exactly the safest thing in the kitchen... Which she'll probably roast you about."( Chaya Black back to you! And looking forward to that as well! )

Chaya’s eyes widened in shock as the old man mentioned Mai, the Old Master’s mother. Her gaze fell, before the blonde girl grinned at the man who Alistair called Dorgia. She spoke firmly to the old man, addressing his question with a simple statement. “Mai passed a number of years back. The business has fallen into the hands of her son, my Master. But thanks for your compliment in saying we rival this incredible business.” Then the young maid listened as the boss explained that her tests would be administered by a woman named Eres, who was a bit of a slave-driver. That didn’t faze the young blonde; the old man had done far worse to her as a starting waitress than most labor laws even permitted. But it had all been a part of her training; to balk here because the ‘cook’ might break her spirit was laughable at best. The young girl grinned at the man, waiting till he finished. He motioned for her to move in closer, before he whispered that her current outfit might not be the best for working. Her blue gaze widened in shock, before she sighed and leaned back in her chair. “I’d like to see how Eres reacts to my outfit, unless there is a standard uniform for workers within this establishment. If there is, far be it from me to resist the rules set forward by the boss. Otherwise, I’m ready to start working. I’ve experience in every manner of table courtesy and etiquette, though my hope is I can find a place in the kitchen and bar, to experience new styles of food and preparation, along with gaining knowledge of the finer art of bartending. But, as this is your establishment and Eres is the head chef, I’ll await your say in all matters.” ( Alaistair Sorry about the wait!)

(All good!) This Chaya didn't seem to mind challenging Eres about her outfit. Alaistair wasn't sure if he should be scared for the girl or if he should commend her for her courage! She went to focus on explaining that she was really looking forward to this, thinking she already had herself the job before Alaistair even got the words out! It struck him that she was, perhaps, a bit brash. "We'll have to see when the time comes. First, I'd like to get to know a bit more about the person I'm about to send to the 'wolf' in the kitchen there," Alaistair stated, before he had taken a seat at a coffee table nearby in the lounge, gesturing for her to have a seat with him. Whether she did or did not, Alaistair would ask her, "Do you have any recipes in mind you'll be looking to cook for her to taste? She is a connoisseur of food and has not only dabbled, but effectively learned an encyclopedia's worth of recipes from many regions! I see you brought a wok, so I imagine you'd be cooking something that is more region specific to the Eastern lands?"( Chaya Black the interview begins! Feel free to go a bit wild with the recipes in mind. )

The young teenager listened as the tall man spoke. He took a seat, while the girl rocked forward onto her chair firmly. She listened attentively to everything the man had to say. When he mentioned the knowledge of Eres, the girl grinned. The woman in charge of the kitchen sounded incredible, unlike anyone the girl had met to date. The old man at the China Dragon was amazing with Eastern food, but after that it wasn’t his area of expertise. The maid, though unknowledgeable about other areas of cuisine, was confident in the tool she held. When he asked her directly, the girl paused for a moment. A pale shade crossed her face, before her gaze dropped to the floor. There was a soft whisper, as the maid admitted her greatest mistake since entering here. She repeated it, looking up slightly at the owner of the amazing restaurant. “I was going to cook pork chow mein...but I forgot to bring my own ingredients.” The maid rose to her feet, lifting the wok up onto her shoulder. She turned towards the exit, preparing to leave the amazing establishment. She’d try again in the future, when she had her own ingredients and didn’t make such an elementary mistake. She’d pause if Alaistair called out to her, but the maid was moving quickly towards the doorway.
( Sorry about the wait! Alaistair )

"My word," Alaistair thought, watching Chaya go from chipper and attentive to upset and submissively defeated, "She has no confidence at all!""Hang on! You don't need to w-"Eres came walking out from the restaurant on the other side, escorting out a flour covered individual. She didn't state anything to them, instead looking around for Alaistair to see if he had any else. Instead of seeing him first, she saw Chaya with her wok, in the outfit she was wearing and didn't seem to flinch at the odd dress! "You there," Eres pointed her out, in a fairly demanding voice, "Are you here for a job in the kitchen?"Dorgia, who was closest to Eres, spoke aloud with a smile and cheerful tone, telling her, "She is! She actually comes from the Chinese Dragon, in the Western Capital."Eres's stern demeanor turned into a zealous grin, as she crossed an arm under her chest to her other arms elbow, to balance it as she tapped her cheek! "Oh really," she sang delightfully, "Has Mai's restaurant fallen under its level?"Dorgia grimaced, informing Eres, "Chaya here claims that it is under her son's care now, with her passing on."Eres changed expression quite quickly hearing this news. She hadn't heard of this until Dorgia's statement. "I am sorry to hear that... She was a great chef and would manage to outdo my cuisine every other year in a contest until maybe a decade ago," Eres elucidated, walking up to Chaya and grabbing her by her shoulders, telling her, "You must come with me and show me what you can do. No ifs or buts! Even if you are not related to Mai, I must see that the Loft's friendly rival hadn't dwindled greatly!"She really wasn't intending Chaya to weasel her way out. Eres had a surprising amount of strength hidden in her slender form! A great flame looked practically visible in Eres's eyes, enticing and energetic to see! Alaistair remained seated where he was, blinking and just thinking to himself, "Oh my... She's in that Banshee's grip now..!"( Chaya Black)
