Infinity
This was what the proclaimed 'goddess' of Earth sat in as she closed her eyes, emptied her mind, and meditated. To most of a weaker will and a lesser mind: this muted emptiness would be maddening. Yet, to the golden dragon, it was a canvas for thought, a place to remove all emotion, or a road map to one's truest and most inner self. In truth: she'd come to this edge of time and space to reflect, to experiment, or...
...To breathe.
A slow exhale escaped the Kami's lips as her six arms all weaved effortlessly through the void as if she were but a leaf on a still pond. Each hand would slowly circle around her seated form before stopping with two cupping the air around her chest. The kami filled her lungs with a sharp inhale as suddenly an explosion of light and color erupted around her. In that blinding instant a sea of stardust and energy enveloped the void filling it with the beginnings of life as time made it's first step.
Maeve's eyes fluttered open, witnessing the aftermath of what some had referred to as the 'big bang' as she did countless times during her meditation before. Once more, the breathtaking sight was marred by the endless stream of tears she felt pouring down her cheeks upon facing the truest image of perfection. In one moment she was swept from the edge of infinity into the realm she had grown to love.
She paused however, feeling something in her hands that distracted her from the sight that was unfurling before her. An orange round stone as smooth as glass was nestled in her palms, She held the sphere up, and gazed into her reflection as she stared at the singular red star. She tilted her head curiously as she stood inspecting it curiously only to be suddenly eclipsed by the shadows of seven looming planets.
Her eyes widened as she gazed upon the very same sphere only hundreds of times bigger. Her headfins twitched a bit as she felt her mouth swing open in a mixture of confusion and awe. She had to shut her eyes however, as the planets began to radiate with a golden light that would have otherwise blinded her. "W-what...What is this?!" She cried out breathlessly as a new, even larger shadow took the place of the orange planets of crystal.
A roar that shook the universe ripped out as suddenly Maeve was engulfed in an endless stream of colors she had never seen before. She watched on, paralyzed by marvelous wonder until...
Everything stopped.
A sharp, prolonged inhale escaped Maeve's desperate lips as she hunched foreward and began to let out a spastic cough. Over and over again, the kami's throat contracted to let out a cough as if she were breathing for the first time in an eternity. She let out a few haggard breaths to the rhythm of the pendulum's tick and the ancient gears rumbling clicks. She looked to the engraved flooring, beads of sweat pooling on her forehead as she tried to register
...Just what had happened.
She pulled herself to a stand, her body trembling all over, as she slowly inched toward the doors of the pendulum room.
The doors swung open with a fierce push as the demonic Kami stood gazing upon the lookout with fire in her eyes. Her spiky mohawk and braided ponytail billowed in the breeze as she walked along the ivory tile toward the center most point of the lookout. As if responding to the determination and solemn air of the goddess, the sky began to darken as Maeve suddenly held her hands up, high above her head. "I saw it..." She spoke aloud, to no one in particular, as the sky began to rumble and shake. The gentle breeze that kissed the young woman's face had upgraded to a howling wind that threatened to knock her away if she had any lesser resolve than she did.
"I watched the creation...Of everything!" She continued, her eyes closing suddenly as she swayed her arms into a similar position that they were in during her vision. She swayed her hips forward as she began to slowly rock back and forth in tune with the whistling wind and claps of thunder. Her aura of white and black ki began to seep free from her form creating a haze of silvery light that only seemed to grow and grow as the sky got darker and darker.
"I know now...What I must do! What this world needs!" She bellowed out, her eyes slowly opening as lightning cracked the sky above her. "Using my own life force combined with the Earth's I shall craft a tool for the mortals of this and every other world! A tool for construction or destruction, of light and darkness! A tool where they will be able to carve their own destiny!" She concluded, holding her hand up above her head as if she were reaching out to the heavens above. A few splinters of light streaked through the sky as if it were brewing something big.
"Now! Come!" She called out as the heavens split and a torrent of energy crashed into her form. Maeve let out a roar that mirrored the one in her vision as the wrath of the Earth combined with her ki, magic, and very soul. Her roar continued as her swell of energy was suddenly split seven ways forming a set of seven lights that began to swirl and condense into spheres. The orbs of light spun around her reaching high above before shooting off in all directions creating shimmering trails as they began their journey across the universe.
Maeve panted, sunlight breaking through the clouds as she watched her Dragon Balls fade from sight. A weak little giggle slipped through her teeth as a wave of accomplishment washed over her. She fell back, collapsing in a heap as she lay against the smooth tile and let her giggle form into a full on laugh. The laughter continued for a few moments before the faint ring of her phone beckoned to her from inside the lookout.
Her scaled ears flicked at the sound as she sat up. A creeping feeling of worry burrowed to the pit of her stomach as she looked onward.

The vast reaches of perpetual potential. The endless chasm of emptiness. The beginning and end of all things.

Little did she know, that she'd be called to Vegeta shortly after.
