SO, I've been thinking
It's about time we open up the Hypberbolic Time Chamber.
As shown in Canon, the HBTC does NOT need a Kami to be active, as evidence when Goku and Gohan and Vegeta and Trunks when in it when there was no Kami for Earth.
Now you may be thinking
"It's supposed to be a year in there. How do we do that for the site."
Simple. 600% PL gain modifier.
I chose 600% cuz it seems like a good number. But it's not 600% per year you're in there. It's 600% total. That's a 300% gain per year you'd choose to be in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. For instance.
If you earned, say, 10k PL naturally, put a 600% modifier on that, suddenly you're at 60k PL gain. Which seems good for a HBTC training session. If you earned 15k, you'd get 75k back. Etc etc.
Also of course, if you spent less than a year in there, say you only spent 6 months of the 2 year time you're alloted, you'd only gain 150% modifiers for it. And you can only enter the HBTC twice in a lifetime. If you went in there twice for 6 months each and didn't use the full 2 years, well sucks for you, you used your two chances.
I say it should be this high because the HBTC is supposed to be HARSH. So harsh in fact that it drove Trunks, who was a Super Saiyan, to the brink of breaking. He claimed it was the hardest thing he'd ever done. Even Goku almost died as a kid in there, and he was still stronger than most of the early-Z Z-fighters as a kid.
My plot idea for bringing the HBTC into play is having Toma go into it, since he discovered the lookout, training for 1/2 years (1/2 days in normal time) then going and telling the other "good" people about it, who could then do as they wished with the information.
So, I ask the site. What are your thoughts on this?

Honestly, it sounds like a cheap way to gain power. Besides, I thought the whole thing with Buu was to get rid of the Time-Chamber so that the characters couldn't technically go in there every single time, because it should've been the perfect solution after the Cell SAGA for every new opponent. That's how I interpreted it, at least.
You do have some ideas to balance it out, with the whole maximum of 2 years, and twice per lifetime, etc, but it still seems quite overdone.

Actually, there is a way around that. If you have a character with magic, that can open portals, that can teleport, or can rip open dimensions, they can escape and use it as many times as they want. But why can no one enter it more then 2 times per life time? It was a very strange rule from the anime, and why was it that?

It wasn't that you can enter the chamber two times, it was that you can spend a maximum of 48 hours inside.

It wasn't that you can enter the chamber two times, it was that you can spend a maximum of 48 hours inside At a time. And there is only enough food to last 1 person 2 years, 2 people 1 year, etc

If you stay longer then those 48 hours you are trapped in there forever and will likely die because there's only food in the chamber for one year. Also, more then one or two people can enter, but the amount of food in there is meant to be split between two people evenly so therefore you end up having a situation where one or two people would starve if more then one or two people entered at a time and stayed in there for the maximum amount of time.
However, Toma is also correct. You only get two opportunities in a life time to go in there because I do remember when Goku mentioned that, the wiki backs this up with information on that based on the Fusion Saga with Majin Buu.

Don't think it'd be right to use it now but it would be good to know about.
As far as the goodies go there isn't any major threats ATM...
It'd be like. "IMA GO TRAIN IN THERE JUST INCASE." Instead of. "FUCK, SHIT. ENEMIES N STUFF. I NEED A POWER BOOST TO SAVE THE PLANET."
I believe it should be used as a need and not a want.

Currently access to the HBTC is a perk of the Kami, so without a Kami no one knows about it's existence/can't use it. It would be meta-gaming to use your OOC knowledge of it's existence to go seek it out As for the HBTC itself, it is really meant as an emergency/major plot event, so my personal vote is no for just everyone using it for a cheap boost. I've actually been giving thought to each of the roles and possible items which may be attached to them. As part of it, my thought was potentially that HBTC counts as a 150x gravity chamber, except instead of having to work up to that amount you just go straight to the full bonus. and yes, if you stayed longer you'd be trapped forever, and no one here is anywhere near ssj3 strength to be able to yell their way out

A bit late, but since we got our Kami back:
I personally like the idea of a 150x gravity chamber, more than a 600% modifier, because 600% can be HUGE. To give you an example: Let's say that I, as Reikiko entered said hyperbolic time chamber.
Even if I went in solo, that would be a ridiculously high bonus.
Let's imagine I do an average 'big' thread in the hyperbolic time chamber of 10k. That would net me up to 48000 TWICE (that's almost a free 100k buff). Sure it's a 'once in a lifetime' thing, but it would be rather unbalanced.
Instead a gravity chamber would likely still serve as a fairly strong boost, and yet not be too 'game-breaking. Let's take the following example we could use:
First, to actually learn about the hyperbolic time chamber, one has to be either the Kami, or learn from him about it icly. I'm not even sure if Scargot icly knows about its existence, but if you can imagine that Reikiko who icly lived there for several months, does not even know the room's purpose. You'd pretty much understand why learning about the HTC should involve a plot with Scargot, or at least a very solid ic reason to get access to it (but I'd still vote for the plot way, since it adds character development).
Now a curious thought I had:
From what I heard you can only spend up to 2 days before you'd get trapped. What if we actually employ this in a RL time-mechanism?
Once a player 'unlocks' the room, they are given the chance to train there, this training pretty much will work in two potential ways.
1: You get to do a solo thread that has a timer limit of two RL days. However, to prevent someone from pre-writing a novel and walking out with a super crazy boost there would be a word count cap placed.
2: You enter alongside someone else, and a time limit is applied of a slightly longer period (for example the two days cap might become two weeks? Since basically you'd be waiting on another person to write alongside with). I'd say we shouldn't add a cap here, but we'd have to depend on the players to ensure they play fair and not pre-write a huge topic and then machine-gun post inside the hyperbolic time chamber.
I think this would be one method to go about it, of course it all depends on numbers, for example if I entered alongside someone, and each of us posted daily at least once then we'd get to see Reikiko obtain a minimum of: 33600 from a 2 weeks group session/2 Ingame days. While this boost might not be as dramatic as the 600% gain, it's still a fairly nice number (and sounds about the same amount I'd get from around 2 sagas.)
Just... if we do this, we might want to consider if LMB is applied to this >_> <_< because then it would be a much larger boost on top of the number.

I'd only go for it it if it's essentially a 150x GC that you don't need to build your way up to. Seems fair, but not too powerful.

I agree with the x150 boost but I also think it shouldn't be open to just everyone who wants to go in there. Characters will need a motivation other than solely being stronger unless their motivations have something behind it like to fight a greater power or to simply be selfish, and I doubt Kami would let the selfish go in there anyway without attempting to prevent them from entering.
In other words you can't just go into the HBTC because you feel like it.

Well, certainly it needs to be remembered that only the kami knows about it currently, and he would absolutely try to stop people abusing it. But that's not really something we need mechanical rules for. Rather, people just need to RP properly.

And, of course, the limitation rule.
So, in summary:
- Equivalent to 150x gravity (+x1.5 modifier) - No need to have 'reached' 150x (as an aside, in canon, the training area was confirmed to be 10x). - Two days at a time (only enough food and water for one day if two people go in). - "It is mentioned by Piccolo that a person can only spend 48 hours in real life time inside the Time Chamber, and by Goku during the Fusion Saga of Dragon Ball Z that a person can only enter the chamber twice in a lifetime."

That being the case, though, what if somebody dies? Obviously that doesn't create a loophole (Unless we add an item to the afterlife shop that allows it...) but it should be stated that dying and being brought back doesn't reset your hyperbolic time chamber limit.
Everyone wants to get swole.
