The lush blue fields of Namek stretched as far as the eye could see. Green streams of water flowed peacefully, grass swaying in the wind as it whistled by. It was a strange feeling and sight, this relative peace on Namek. It hadn't seen much violence ever since the Mazoku Dominion took their war to the Arcosian Empire. Stories went around of their warpath, and what they had done...Soon also reaching Rhytid's ears, a young Namekian of the Warrior Caste.
They had actually done it. The rumors couldn't have been a lie, Xylo really did conquer planet Arcose with his army. It sickened the Namekian to the pits of his stomach. That a member of his peace-seeking race, an ideal they had cherished for centuries, was now waging war against the Saiyans.
If he were to be completely honest, Rhytid could somewhat understand the feelings the Mazoku held. The hatred and resentment for the other races...The horrors they had put Namek through, along with her people. It was unimaginable how long the Namekians had suffered at the hands of outsiders, and Rhytid agreed that it was time to put a stop to it...
...But this was NOT the way to do it.
War and conflict were below the standards of true Namekians. Rhytid believed in tradition, and through tradition, he was taught the value of peace. Conflict would only bring more conflict...People would die, over and over again. It was only a matter of time until Xylo's warpath was halted, and he, along with his army, would die.
Rhytid nearly couldn't believe how dense the Mazoku lord could be, leading his own people to their demise...It was pathetic. He wanted to do something about it, yet Rhytid was too weak, nor did he have a voice. And if he had one, what would he do then? Seek to kill the Mazoku? The thought sent shivers down his spine- yuck.
Whether or not he agreed with their vision, they were still Namekians. No, no...Rhytid needed another way to stand up to the Mazoku, and preserve the Namekian tradition. Through stories of fellow clansman, he came to know about the 'Porungian Sentinels', a group formed by their very own Guru!
The young warrior had quickly set out to find the Guru in the Grand Elder Village, so he could join the Sentinels himself, as he really wished to help in some way. The Namekian had arrived after a few hours of flying, the Guru's palace quickly coming into vision...
''There it is...''
He confirmed it himself mentally as he flew over, slowing down as he approached the building. A Namekian could be seen outside the palace, presumably guarding the place. As Rhytid touched down, they exchanged peaceful glances before the guard approached him with a calm posture. ''Why are you here, brother?'' He asked curiously. ''I came to see the Guru...This is the place, correct?'' Rhytid quickly responded, his ignorant question made the guard raise an eyebrow. ''Yes, but...Why do you wish to see him?'' The guard asked again, his curiosity piqued somewhat...
''I'm here to join the Sentinels.''
A thick silence washed over the two, the guard's eyes were wide, as if he were thinking 'How does he know about the sentinels!?!'. Yet, he didn't ask questions, if the Namekian somehow knew about their cause...He should be allowed a chance to prove himself worthy of joining.
''...I see...Carry on, brother.''
The guard finally stepped aside, and allowed Rhytid through...He had never seen the Guru in person before, so he couldn't help but be somewhat curious to see who he would be meeting up with...
Without a second thought, Rhytid stepped inside the mystical palace, a strange sense of nervousness suddenly hitting him like a storm...

[T4 SHOP] On the top floor of the deceptively ancient Namekian lookout was a short bed, jutting slightly out of the floor below. With the push of a button, the small cot could flip over and seemlessly press into the tile below. But currently, it was covered in a thick frosting of blankets, and underneath the cocoon laid a namekian.
The guru was a somewhat scrawny dragon caste, trickles of age beginning to lick at the edges of his eyes and cheeks. His broad unwrinkled forehead sported his scar: a flame shaped marking, a permanent reminder of the suffering he endured at the hands of the Mazoku. The guru was tall, so tall in fact that his feet dangled off the Palace's built in bed; the cot was made for namekians who were much wider than they were long.
Helix never asked for guards to stand outside his palace, although he supposed it was necessary. The result, however, was that the guards rarely came inside, and Helix rarely went outside. It was a lonely existence.
Certainly Mazoku authorities would not tolerate outright resistance of the new regime, and so Helix kept a painfully low profile. He moved through his days like water, sloshing to and fro without much direction. But by night, the prophet quietly manicured his brother's empire, weakening its hold on the people and keeping it from planting its roots too deep to dig out later. Xylo's regime was a temporary evil, and it was Helix's job to make sure that it didn't get a chance to infect namekian society beyond what was absolutely necessary.
Now that Xylo was off-planet, Helix's resistance had kicked into full force, if it could be called that. For the past forty eight hours, the prophet moved silently and quickly, disrupting the Mazoku outposts outside of the main castle and speaking to a couple of warrior caste leaders. It was subtle, slow progress. At times, it seemed too slow.
The guru stirred in his bed, rolling off the side and shedding his blankets. His forehead glew nonchalantly, notifying him of the approach of a fellow namekian. With a swift exhaustion, the prophet dowsed himself in his robes, humble grey garb, and then paced over to his table.
A snap of his fingers conjured a magical blue flame in the center burner, and the prophet placed a kettle utop the porcelain casing. Always good to have a pot of tea ready for the company.
Rubbing his eyes, Helix's finely attuned ears twitched as the palace's first floor door slid open with a magi-mechanical whir. "Just a moment--" Helix called down the stairwell, shifting his robe into place and pulling his neck to the left, producing a satisfying crack.
Within a few seconds, the guru would pace down the stairs, his normally blackish forehead marking radiating a slight white glow. Each barefoot step down the stairwell would echo out slightly through the main room of the palace.
The central room was the largest partition of the palace, a large dome lined with bookshelves and carpeted with a blue woolen substance. At either side of the main hall lay another smaller room, one more densely packed with books, and the other filled with cabinets and exotic teas. Helix tended to prefer herbs from his own Asijja garden.
In the center of the hall was a short small table containing a stone cracked in half: it was perfectly grey, and looked as if it was a beautifully crafted sphere before it was shattered.
"Why hello there brother-" Helix chimed with a goofy smile, scratching the back of his head, "I don't believe we've met. Welcome to my home."

Rhytid wondered what type of person he would run into inside of this home. The scent of ancient books and fresh leaves instantly hit him as he stepped inside. The entire place smelled like...Wisdom, if that was even possible. What was the guru like? Old, young? Like him, proud and strong? Or the frailer, sage-type dragon clansman?
The patter of Rhytid's shoes echoed through the silent home, the lack of any response making the Namekian feel somewhat uneasy. ''...Hello?'' He called out in a somewhat unconfident tone. Had the Warrior Clansman interrupted something? Was the Guru busy with important matters...?
Rhytid hoped not, he was eager to make a decent first impression, as he held a great amount of respect for their Guru, despite not knowing who he was.
A voice called back to him from above, Rhytid's sensitive hearing easily able to discern the call. It made him jump slightly, admittedly, knowing that the Dragon Clan leader was about to make himself known to Rhytid.
As the footsteps drew closer, Rhytid took it upon himself to step further into the main room, eyes nervously glancing about as his hands fidgeted around behind his back. The Namekian could see into the adjacent rooms- which held even more books and ancient tomes. It was to be expected that the wise prophet of Namek would be an avid reader, yet his collection was...Ridiculously huge.
Rhytid's eyes were dragged to the distant stairwell as the pitter-patter of the Guru's footsteps grew closer. Eventually, he came into view, Rhytid's eyes widening slightly before focusing once more. The Warrior mentally slapped himself, he had to keep his composure, and not look like a complete idiot- although he couldn't help but feel somewhat...Inferior, infront of a Namekian with such importance.
Much to his surprise, though, the Guru seemed to be quite the casual, friendly guy! Rhytid cracked a half-grin, giving the Guru a respectful nod as he extended a hand toward the wise Namekian. ''It's an honor to meet you, sir Guru.'' Rhytid paused, his eyebrows discreetly curling up in slight discomfort.
''My name is Rhytid, of the Warrior Caste...I came here hoping to speak to you about some matters...''
The Warrior Namekian gazed to the sides, and then to the Guru himself...Something told Rhytid that he was kind of rudely barging into his home without warning...Solid first impression, right there.
''I hope I'm not interrupting anything important, lord Guru...If you wish for me to leave, I could always...Come back later...??'' The young Namekian asked with a slight hint of anxiety behind his tone. It was pretty obvious that he didn't feel entirely calm in the presence of the prophet himself. But, who could blame him? He had always been an irrelevant member of the Warrior Caste, who could never make any difference whatsoever...To boldly go and seek an audience with the Guru was one of the most important choices he had made so far in his life.

As Helix reached the bottom of the stairwell, he caught a full view of the namekian standing in the main hall and smiled. He was a warrior caste! Helix didn't often have warrior castes come to talk to him. In fact, most of the time even dragon caste's kept their distance from the hermit of a guru.
But the prophet wasn't a hermit by choice: After Xylo's coup, a grim atmosphere washed over Namek's beautiful plains, choking up communication and splitting people apart. The phenomenon was unfortunate, as these were the times in which it was most important to stay together!
"The honor is mine," Helix replied with a warm smile, pacing over to meet the warrior caste. The guru extended his hand to the younger namekian. "I am Helix Crust, the guru of namek for a couple of months now." He made a face, sheepishly. "Well I suppose you already know I'm the guru. But you might be surprised about how many of the warrior castes on the other continents do not even know my name!"
The guru felt his brother's slight discomfort, and loosened his own shoulders, leading by example. "It is good to meet you, Rhytid. Believe it or not, I don't get many visitors- Especially from castes outside of my own."
"Come in, I've got a pot of tea brewing upstairs," chimed the dragon caste, "Or would you rather take a look at the library?"
Helix placed a hand on the shattered stone dragon ball sitting on the small table. "You're not interrupting anything at all! My home is a home of the people."

Much to Rhytid's own surprise, their Guru seemed like a very laid back and friendly person! He didn't seem to have any trouble with Rhytid's presence whatsoever- hell, he even looked happy to see him! It shaked off most of his nerves, now that the two were properly introduced to eachother.
His tone was friendly and inviting, and the Guru finally introduced himself by his actual name, Helix Crust. To be completely fair, Rhytid himelf didn't know his name either- most of the people in Rhytid's village didn't. Most of them were seasoned Warriors who never traveled far from their own village, especially recently. The Mazoku Dominion had certainly put Namek in a tension-filled air, everytime you went outside, it felt like wardrums were being banged in the distance...
''My own village didn't know much either, but I've heard stories and rumors about you, Guru.'' Rhytid replied to the Namekian sage, a calmer smile on his face. ''In fact, one of those rumors is the reason I came all this way to see you.'' The Warrior let out a brief chuckle as he stepped further into the room. Standing still in the doorway didn't exactly look all that comfortable.
''We all share a great respect for your efforts. Most of my brethren support you, even if they're not really making themselves known.'' Rhytid's tone became a bit softer as he gazed out of a window, his eyes and mind trailed off briefly, as if he just brought up some regrettable memories. ''They're concerned about the Mazoku, mainly...Some people even refused to go leave the village until recently. Yet now that they've left, Namek's been strangely peaceful and quiet...''
His voice was fairly distant, arms folded over one another as his eyes showed some genuine concern. This 'peace' would only last for a while, after all. It wouldn't be long until someone attacked Namek in retaliation for what the Mazoku has done. Briefly silent, he quickly shook his head, knocking himself out of his daydream. ''Oh- excuse me, I...I'm just...Concerned, is all.'' Rhytid voiced with a casual shrug and a smile. Helix had probably heard the same story millions of times, and it probably tired him, at this point.
''Shall we continue over some tea? I still wish to talk to you some things, if that's alright with you, Guru, sir...Or...Helix...Uh-''
Rhytid paused awkwardly, blinking twice with a lack of confidence or composure- he scratched his neck, trying to feign an innocent grin.
''...Do you prefer 'Guru', or just Helix...?''

Helix couldn't help but grin as the young warrior caste in his front hall spoke of Namek's respect for him. The prophet really did need to work on public relations, though. Rumors weren't necessarily bad, but it was far better to quench them with fact.
It delighted the 120-something to know that the grassroots supported his efforts to quietly fight Xylo's grip on the homeworld. Xylo's war elsewhere was a different story, but… His occupation of Namek itself was something Helix still couldn't take sitting down. And his violence was liable to turn namek into a battleground any day now.
"Xylo had a brief period of intensive occupation," Helix recounted to the warrior caste, who was likely already all too familiar with the facts, "His demons briefly tried to tax our people, and harassment was widespread. I've been told that namekians have died at the hands of his rowdy hired guns." Helix turned to the warrior caste, looking him up and down. He figured it was okay to tell him this: "He's off planet right now, taking on the first front of his war." Helix's voice was stone cold.
It seemed that the young warrior caste was an idealist— Or was that just Helix seeing himself in the passionate youth?
Helix paced quickly into the room devoted almost entirely to herbs and supplies, grabbing a small pottery off the shelf and opening the top. He took a strong whiff in and coughed loudly, chuckling as he placed it back on the shelf. Finally the namekian clutched a different pot, with a label in the native namekian language. "Guru Helix is fine," the elder turned with a goofy smile, accidentally losing his grip on the pot, "Oh — PORUNGA!" He fumbled with the porcelain for a second, snatching it just before it hit the ground.
"Whew…." Helix sighed with relief, wiping a sweat bead off his forehead. "Er— Let's head upstairs before i burn the whole palace down."
Leading the warrior caste up the stairs, Helix set the pot down on the side of the slightly table, where the kettle was placed on a burner in the center. "Take a seat," he offered the young man before he went to tidy up for a second. The guru quickly bustled over to his bed, flipping a switch and watching the mess of blankets be swallowed by the ground as the cot flipped over and merged with the floor.
Pacing back over to the table, he pulled out a seat for himself and opened the teapot and the subsequent pot of Assija herbs. "Freshly farmed," he commented with a sly grin, "If you'd care to see, I can show you my garden later!"
The prophet brewed the tea with the expertise of habit, placing the top back on the kettle as he waited for it to boil to a point of release. "So brother," Helix looked over at his namekian companion with a smile, "What's brought you to my home today?"

Rhytid clearly saw the concern in Helix's eyes when he spoke of the Mazoku. He pitied the Guru, really. Times must have been rough, and tiring for him. Being the shepherd of Namek, and their very own Guru, the Namekians expected him to guide them through these dark times. It was a harsh reality, but the truth...Helix really was their last hope in retaining an idealistic, and traditional Namek.
A peaceful Namek.
...If only Rhytid was more powerful. He too wanted to make a difference.
Baby steps, Rhytid. Baby steps.
''I've heard the news...It seems he was able to conquer Arcose with his people...'' Rhytid spoke in a distant tone, putting extra emphasis on the fact that the Mazoku were Xylo's people. The resentment was bitter, and Rhytid wished that he didn't have to feel this way about the Dominion, yet he couldn't help it. Even the Namekian people were divided, and at the very edge of conflict themselves...And things wouldn't stop until Xylo was brought to his knees, or succeeded in his conquest.
But how many lives was it going to take until either of those things would happen?
The Namekian shook his head, watching as the Guru fumbled with a kettle. Suddenly, the surprisingly goofy Guru nearly dropped the damn thing! ''Shh-! Watch it!-...Oh'' Rhytid extended a hand quickly, yet it seemed he was just able to keep it from leaving a nasty stain in his carpet. The Warrior Caste grinned in amusement, happy to see that the Guru hadn't become bitter, despite all of this. ''Yeah, that's...a good idea.'' Rhytid couldn't help but snicker lightly.
Following the Guru up the stairs, Rhytid's eyes quickly scanned across the Guru's room as he entered. Taking the offer to sit down, Rhytid nodded in thanks as he did so.
Rhytid couldn't help but reimnd himself of how much the Guru differed from his expectations as Helix fumbled around. When he got here, he was totally expecting a stoic, powerful, inspiring leader with limitless knowledge...Yet their Guru was lively, young (sort of), and cheerful! Not that it was a bad thing, merely unexpected.
The smell of the Ajissa herbs hit his nose, a pleasant, refreshing smell. He smiled faintly at the Guru, ''Maybe you could.'' he reponded in a calm tone. When Helix asked him what he came here for, though, his smile faded- Rhytid's expression became serious. ''Right...''
''The truth is, Guru Helix, that I've spent my entire life cowering in fear for the safety of Namek. People have used our planet and her people as mere objects, only caring about our Dragon Balls...I'm afraid of our future...''
Rhytid's gaze dropped sightly, distant eyes staring at the boiling pot of tea.
''While I respect the Mazoku for trying to change this...What they're doing will only lead towards more conflict and suffering...It's only a matter of time before Namek is attacked as well. I won't stand for this- despite my weakness...I'm sick of being a mere spectator...''
The Namekian took a moment to breathe, inhaling and exhaling deeply to calm his nerves.
''I've heard rumors of your resistance, Guru Helix...The Porungian Sentinels.''
A bittersweet half-smile crept up on his face, eyes traveling back up to meet Helix's.
''I've come to join your cause.''

Helix raised his brows in concern, biting his lip at the news of Xylo's arcose conquest. Why had his brother not told him of such a lofty ambition? Any threat to Xylo's life was a direct threat to Helix's own... But beyond that, could he afford to have two Empires turned against him at once?
At the table, the kettle began to whistle, in a slow whimper, growing into a shriek. Helix pulled the pot off of the flame and extinguished it with a flick of his finger. Pulling two perfectly cylindrical cups out of seemingly thin air, Helix set them down and poured tea into the side by side containers, before passing one over to his warrior caste companion. He nodded as Rhytid explained his fear for namek's future: it was a sentiment that the guru shared himself.
The Mazoku were attempting to gain their sovereignty, and bring Namek to galactic prominence... But there was no time for playing games: Namek was at risk. Helix took a slow whiff of the tea, inhaling the heat and taking a slow sip, his eyes lowered as the warrior caste spoke.
But then, something surprising happened. Helix's eyes flickered up, and he set the cup down. Certainly, a few of the namekians across the planet knew of Helix's underground efforts to circumvent Xylo's rule... But they always considered it Helix's burden to bear alone. Suddenly, a stranger in his home wanted to help him... And he felt himself opening up to the possibility immediately.
"The path is riddled with stones," Helix warned his brother, "I must warn you that it is not an easy fight, nor is it a direct one." He intertwined his fingers, breathing in deeply. "We must remain almost entirely in the shadows, for direct opposition of Xylo can destroy our cause before it begins."
"The warrior caste has fallen into disrepair," Helix commented somberly, "But with them behind the cause... There stands a chance of pushing out Xylo's rule."

The somber look on the Guru's face told enough as is. It was quite obvious that Helix was as broken and sick of the situation as he was. As any Namekian was, really...Some merely thought that war was the better solution, and chose to support Xylo instead of their Guru.
As the Guru replied to Rhytid's request of aiding him, the Namekian warrior stared deeply into the cup of tea. Tiny ripples distorted the surface, steam flowing up and puffing out of the cup, before evaporating into the air once more. Helix was right...The fight would be long, indirect, and difficult. Having to work against your own people in the shadows...Was Rhytid really ready for such a task?
Part of him wanted to admit that he was too weak, both physically as well as mentally. For a second, he almost wanted to retract his offer out of a lack of confidence...Yet then, he remembered something. Rhytid was, and still is, a Warrior. Raised to defend Namek against whatever forced dared to threathen it, and taught in the ancient ways of Namekian martial arts. His elders taught him everything they knew...And soon, Rhytid would be destined to teach the next generation the same techniques and ideals. Being a Warrior was everything he's ever known...Would he really back down now that actual danger was threathening Namek? He couldn't!
...A Warrior, a brave combatant and defender, fighter for what he thinks is right...!
That is what Rhytid really was!
''I won't let you down, Guru Helix.'' He spoke up in a clear, confident tone. His eyes lifted up, a determined fire burning deeply inside of them. ''I won't stand by as Namek is pulled into destruction once again. We have to stay strong, and continue to protect Namek with whatever strength we have.''
In a desperate attempt to raise both his own spirits, as well as the Guru's, he held his own chin high. His tone was loud and clear, trying to inspire the Guru to stay strong as well. If they were going to work together to undermine Xylo's rule, and bring Namek back to peace, they HAD to stay strong.
''I hate to admit that the Warrior Caste is as weak as it is currently...'' Rhytid sighed out, glancing away for a brief moment out of disgust. ''Our leader recently vanished with little reasoning...None of us know where he went, or if he's even alive anymore...Without a proper leader, we have little inspiration to work as hard as we did in the past...''
It truly was a disappointing fate. The leaders of the Warrior Caste, every single one of them, had either died or disappeared. Time upon time again, the Warrior Caste was left without a proper leader to inspire and lead them. They were the backbone of Namek...The brawn, the protectors...But they couldn't even lead themselves anymore.
Yet, Rhytid smiled as he sipped the tea that was infront of him. A crazy thought occured...A dream he once had long ago...Was it finally time to make that dream a reality?
''However...I plan to rise up and lead the Warrior Caste to a better future in his absence. I hope that together, we can finally change Namek...And bring peace to it, once and for all. '' Rhytid suddenly announced, heart pounding inside of his chest. The Namekian knew where his weaknesses lied, and leadership was certainly one of them. Never before had Rhytid lead his people before, or even a squadron of trainees...Yet he had no choice. The young Warrior was prepared for this huge step, and he hoped that the Guru supported his somewhat rash dream.
''However, I need to get more powerful, first...I'm not strong enough to take up the mantle yet...For that reason, I was wondering if you would be willing to train me, Guru Helix?''
Rhytid smiled in a melancholic way, taking another sip of the tea Helix gave him. ''It'd...Be an honor.''

[Thread PL: 7,194] [Heavy Weights Active] [Weighted PL: 1798.5]
"... Warrior Caste leader Riku was killed upon Xylo's recent rise to power." A sombre tone could be heard by the door of the room. It was only barely being held open. On the other side was another Namekian; Sax, who held several books under one arm. Once again they were wearing their Warrior's Garb. The lanky Namekian shot a hard glare at Rhytid, very clearly holding back some... Less than friendly words regarding the subject; but the aggression dulled. There was no point in getting mad over someone's ignorance if one was in the position to teach them. "So no, it is not as though he abandoned anyone. He was murdered while defending, doing his duty. There is a difference, Rhytid." Sax let out a dejected sigh. "I've even told some people about what I witnessed on that day before, but apparently nobody even cares to further inform others." Shoving the door open fully, Sax left the books they were carrying on the nearest unoccupied space. "Even some survivors of the attack that saw it happen mock the memory of a man that helped the Namekian people in earnest, a man who did what he did for no other reason than... It was the right thing to do."
Clenching their fists, Sax aggressively muttered to themselves. "I swear if it was because he wasn't a Namekian..." It was unclear if by this Sax meant Riku's death at their father's hand or the fact that nobody thought to remember him. All because Riku was a Saiyan.
Chances are Sax was mad about both outcomes.
"As for leader Namorel... I'm unsure. I fear the worst. There is little to no talk of him either." Sax shook their head. They had this habit of letting their emotions get the better of them; such as when family, maybe even someone innocent or even helpful wasn't properly remembered upon their death. "Rrrrgh, whatever... I was just in the library-- and I figured I'd say hi when you woke up, uncle. But you're busy. Sorry for interrupting. I'll just go, I guess."

Helix smiled warmly at the young warrior caste's ambition. He sipped his tea, and his face turned serious as the namekian across the table from him descended into a speech. "That seems to be the case," Helix lamented softly, remembering Namorel… He had seen many namekian warrior leaders come and gone in his time. It seemed that the job was cursed.
The aging guru almost jumped out of his seat in fright as a sudden sound emerged from the doorway. Standing in the arch was a very tall lightly warted mazoku, whom Helix vaguely recognized, but couldn't put a finger on. "T-That is true—" Helix replied, confirming the young mazoku's words. He had heard of Riku's sacrifice as well, although his primary focus moments earlier had been on the disappearance of Namorel.
Helix grew solemn at the youngling's grave words, but then raised his brow in suspicion of the tall namekian. It wasn't that he was racist towards mazoku— It was just he wasn't sure how this particular mazoku got inside of his house.
It seemed that Sax was particularly inclined to repspect regardless of caste or race. That was a virtue, and Helix simply sipped his tea, allowing the situation to play out.
"Yes—" Helix interjected, "Only weeks ago Namorel took up the mantle of the warrior caste, but…" Helix looked away, not wanting to offend the mazoku child. "I believe some tormenting on the part of Xylo's foot soldiers drove him off— Or perhaps he has just found sanctuary in solitude. Either way, he is no longer seen on Namek's fields, and I haven't been able to locate him."
When the child explained that he was his nephew, everything suddenly made sense. "Oh—" Helix leapt up from his chair, his eyes lighting up, "You are the nephew that I was told about? I was told that you are the one running the castle Mazoku in Xylo's absence. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
Just then, an idea bulged in Helix's head, and he blushed brightly. "Oh porunga!" Helix shouted in embarrassment, "You really shouldn't go into the library without telling me! There are books in there you are a too young to read!" The prophet sat back down with a groan. "Tell me you didn't read the Kami Slugtra!"
His temporary turmoil alleviated, the dragon caste insisted that his nephew come and stay for tea. "Come on now—" Helix smiled. The boy seemed scholarly and opinionated, two traits that Helix often found in himself. "Sit down, I'll pour you a cup of tea."

Rhytid's senses piqued once his sensitive hearing picked up the Namekian behind him. Eyes widening as his head quickly snapped around his shoulder, to see the Namekian standing in the doorway, the one he had met sometime earlier. Rhytid truly thought they were alone in the building- was this Helix's family, or just someone who waltzed in for no reason?
The words he spoke, though, made Rhytid lose interest in his reasoning. The Warrior caste let out a long sigh, mind flashing to the person who lead their Caste before Namorel took the position. Riku had indeed died a brave man, and did his very best to protect Namek until his last breath...Despite being a Saiyan, a species Rhytid was very biased towards, his ideals corresponded exactly with the Warrior Namekians'.
He was indeed their leader, and a good one...But he had died.
It was as if he was scolding Rhytid for his ignorance, while really, the truth was different. Rhytid wasn't selfish in his dream of leading the Warrior Caste...It was simply something he felt had to be done. And being accused of such ignorance by Sax really did spark some anger deep within him.
He breathed in deeply through his teeth, eyes shutting tightly as he tried to remain calm. Breathing out, Rhytid scooted his chair backwards and stood up, more or less ignoring and/or interrupting the Guru, who seemed to be worried about his books.
''...What do you suggest we do, then?'' He spoke in a melancholic tone as he paced toward a window. Gazing out of it, his eyes gently followed the swaying trees in the distance. The planet remained unharmed, partially because Riku chose to make the direst of sacrifices someone could make, that being their own lives. Yet where was their current leader, in all of this? ''Should we remain leaderless, then? Desperately pray to Porunga that Namorel returns from wherever he has been...?''
His words were obviously directed toward Sax, and held a light tint of irritation in them. Not toward the Namekian, no, but at the entire situation...The Warrior Caste had grown desperate, now more than ever. ''Riku died with honor. Most of us respect him greatly for his resolve to protect Namek...And so do I. But without a leader, what are we supposed to do?''
Rhytid's gaze once again reverted to the window. The blue fields of grass flickering in a soft breeze, as a small river streamed softly in the distance. Someone had to protect all of this...Someone had to show the courage. ''...He can return. It's no secret that people can return from the Afterlife...I'm certain that Riku will come back to us someday.'' Rhytid nodded with a clear tone. In truth, he was partially lying to himself, as well as the others, to keep their spirits high. One could never be sure that he'd return from heaven...But all they could do was hope.
''...Someone has to lead in his absence, don't you think? Times are desperate, and I'm afraid most of our stronger Caste members fear Xylo too much to take up the mantle, so I'll do it.''
''I know I may be weak, yet...I'll try my very best, if given the chance.''
The Namekian breathed out deeply through his nose. His gaze drifted toward the wooden floor- all of this was a lot to take in, even for himself. He could've never guessed that this conversation would grow to be so deep. While it was imposing, and scary...For the first time ever, Rhytid felt as if he was actually helping Namek itself. No longer was he a nameless Warrior- he was finally breaking out of his unconfident shell.
Silently, Rhytid sat back down in his chair again, and clasped his hands around the cup of tea. ''We just need someone- ANYONE, to lead. For now, at least...'' He spoke, his tone somewhat desperate. Rhytid's eyes slowly traveled up, meeting Helix's, and hopefully Sax's. He cracked a slight apologetic grin.
''...I...Sorry for my rant just now...I'm probably sounding like an idiot and killing the mood, heh.''

"That I am, yes." Sax paused and instead of exiting, bowed lightly upon Helix's inquiry. "As I said; I apologize if I interrupted anything. I was planning to wait a while as is." The lanky Namekian quirked an eyebrow. Kami-wah? Whatever that was, they didn't see it. "No need to worry. I was told to avoid a specific corner of the library, and so I did. All I sought were history books." Gesturing to the books they had brought in; it was clear enough that they were in fact Namekian Histories; Dragon, Warrior, Mazoku, volumes one through to six. "I knew more about current events and less about times gone by than I would have liked."
Given that information, Helix's assumption would be correct. Sax often thought things through instead of bull rushing ahead. Not often enough however that passion wouldn't periodically butt in and cause problems as it just did. "Phhh. Me and my big mouth. One moment, uncle." Shaking their head in regret over their outburst, Sax walked over to Rhytid. "Hey. Sorry. I might pride myself on being clever, but I do get hot-headed sometimes. I know now that my frustration is not directed at you, as you are aware of what happens around us and care deeply for our home. For my rash assumptions; I apologize." Thinking back on the earlier encounter in the Quiet Plains, Sax couldn't help but laugh a little. "Given the last time we met, I was a bit of a hypocrite just now, huh?"
As for returning from the afterlife... "Oh, I know. My father returned from the realms beyond. That didn't make it feel better though. I doubt it ever really will." Sax sighed, this was a heavy subject and opinions would likely become divided in larger groups.
Right now; the Dragon and Warrior Clans were potentially in the same position as the Mazoku were once in. Using others as a stepping stone to feel better after being cast aside would only cause those that were trampled upon to react in the same manner, creating a vicious cycle. "I agree. All three clans need a dependable leader; Namek needs the best of the best to lead the three pillars of our society. The wisdom of the Dragons, the courage of the Warriors and the power of the Mazoku need to be united so Namek can hold its true and honest independence. At the moment, and as I've read in these few history books each clan has either completely secluded itself or allied with one other to combat the third. Not once has it been detailed that all three existed in harmony."
Sax took a deep breath before speaking any further. "This needs to change." After a moment of silence, Sax also realized that they had also had a bit of a rant and gave the other two an embarrassed smile. "Heheheh, thats two out of the three of us." A burst of snark emerged as Sax attempted to lightly elbow Rhytid in the shoulder. "Your heart is in the right place. I can't judge you for that."

Helix's cautiousness shifted into excitement the more his nephew spoke. Although he was clearly of Mazoku lineage, it appeared that he was quite well read on the histories of namek: perhaps even more well read than his father. The guru grinned at the growing conversation with his nephew. It took a wise namekian to realize that all answers come from the paths paved by one's ancestors.
"It is a pleasure to meet you then," Helix chimed, standing and pulling out a chair from the table, and then offering his nephew his hand. "You already know my name, but Xylo neglected to tell me yours," Helix fibbed with a blush. He actually had just forgotten it!
As the conversation shifted towards Rhytid's statements of ambition, he watched Sax's previously clashing wit come to a more warm resolution. "The warrior caste cannot be left without a Shepard," Helix commented, scratching his chin. "Even as much as I grew to like Namorel, and hold respect for Riku. The opposite respecting one's ancestors is leaving their shoes unfilled."
Helix remained silent during the conversation of Xylo's return from the dead, debating in his mind wether or not to tell the younger namekians of his subsequent death and return. Although his had occurred on earth, and thus could not be directly linked to a life line between the brothers, it was probably best to stay quiet for now. So far, nobody had heard any hints of Helix's link with Xylo.
The combined force of Rhytid's passion and Sax's wisdom was enough to nearly bring Helix to giddiness. Porunga- the future of Namek may not be so dark if the youth were all like this!
But the solemness of Sax's words sunk in after he punctuated them with a desire for change. It was true, never once had the three castes lived in complete harmony. Dominance has always been a force in the namekian world.
"The castes were reaching a closer point of equality-" Helix said quietly, and then bit his lip, backtracking, "That was to be my ultimate goal since my return. Unfortunately, my brother's domain has taken hold of our planet with a snug grip."
As Helix spoke, he poured a perfectly cylindrical cup of tea for his nephew, and turned to the warrior upstart. "You will have both my support and the support of my caste if you continue on the path of leadership," Helix assured Rhytid with a determined look, "Be certain in your decisions, and lead with your actions. The rest will follow."
The guru sipped his own tea, inhaling the scent and closing his eyes for a moment. "I certainly hope you do not think I talk badly of your father," Helix commented to Sax apologetically. "I hold deep respect for him, but his current course of action is misguided at best."

Rhytid felt a little silly for the long, overdramatic rant he just gave to his own Guru and Sax. It felt a bit unneeded, in hindsight, thinking he might've been killing the mood. Luckily, though, Helix, as well as Sax, seemed to agree with Rhytid. It warmed his heart to know that two people, both of different Castes, agreed with his thoughts.
The Warrior Clansman was well aware that Sax was of the Mazoku Caste, and their own Commander, no less. He wondered why such a kindhearted, peaceful Namekian like Sax was given the position of Commander, though. Was Sax secretly very powerful? Or was his wisdom also respected among the Mazoku?
Then, though, he dropped a piece of information that Rhytid wasn't really expecting...His father returned from the depths of the Afterlife. From rumors, Rhytid was well aware that Xylo was among the people who climbed his way out of the Afterlife.
So, Sax was in fact Xylo's own son...
It felt strange, to see the son of a warlord like Xylo be this kind and wise. Rhytid always thought the Mazoku were war-crazed savages, ready to throw their entire race at risk for their petty conquest. Yet maybe they weren't all that bad...?
''Change...Yeah. That'd be nice.''
Rhytid nodded slowly, taking a sip of his tea just before Sax nudged him in the side. The nudge forced a bit more of the steaming liquid down his throat, and ended up burning his tongue a bit! ''Agh-fff! Hothothot...!'' He muttered quickly, cupping a hand over his mouth with a soft groan. ''I, err...Thanks, Sax.'' He muttered a bit embarrasedly, sending a sideways glance toward the Mazoku clansman. ''No, no I'm serious, really. Thanks for the support...It uh, means a lot.'' He muttered out again, feeling a bit weird thanking someone of the Mazoku like that. Also the fact that he wasn't used to thanking people this genuinely didn't really help. It came out a bit forced, but he was honest about it all.
Helix quickly spoke his thoughts as well, and his words immediately caught Rhytid's attention. After all, the young Warrior did just exclaim his wish to lead his Caste, so his curiosity peaked to hear the opinion of his own Guru. Helix's eyes met with Rhytids in a determined gaze, and with the utmost confidence, Helix exclaimed his support to the young Warrior.
In all honesty, Rhytid wanted to yell out in victory and thank their Guru a thousand times over. His approval meant the world to Rhytid, as this brought him one step closer to his goal. Having to keep his composure, though, he simply nodded with a thankful smirk.
''And you will have our support, Guru Helix.''
The topic took a quick turn toward Xylo, and Rhytid was quickly lost in thought. Ofcourse, he had his negative bias regarding the Mazoku lord's decisions...But with his son there, he figured he had to be a bit careful with his words. ''I can't say I agree with his choices myself, either...Tradition aside, from what I've heard, most of his strongest forces have joined him on the front lines...'' Rhytid took a moment to pause, taking another sip of his tea. Thankfully, it had cooled off a bit.
''It's no secret that the Mazoku are the strongest Caste, at the moment...With his strongest fighters off-planet, this leaves Namek an easy target for attacks by the Saiyan Empire, wouldn't you two agree?'' Rhytid glanced up and at the two other Namekians, his expression serious and stoic. ''While I don't doubt our strength...The Saiyans are insanely powerful, and merciless. Who's to say they aren't planning an assault on Namek as we speak? Would we even be able to defend Namek properly right now?'' The aspiring leader took a brief silence, gripping the cup of tea between both hands, the warmth of the liquid warming his hands. His eyes widened quickly, realizing that he had been rambling away AGAIN.
''Oh, jeez, here I go again with the ranting...! I-uh, sorry...Just saying whatever comes to mind, you know? Hahaha...''
Rhytid laughed it off a bit unconfidently. He hated to be 'that guy', and keep ruining the mood with super serious topics, yet in the back of his mind, he believed that they HAD to be discussed one way or another. While he was just 'spitballing', Rhytid actually did seem to have a grasp on military tactics, more or less. He just hoped Sax and Helix weren't starting to get annoyed by his rambling.
