PL: 4,192 The world truly did look better through the bottom of a glass.
On a dark and cool, overcast night, the bar on the edge of town was exceptionally crowded. Soldiers had come home to spend their earnings. Marketers came to take advantage of the soldiers. Regular patrons were doing their usual. Whatever their reason, the older man behind the bar was happy to serve his brew to the masses.
At the end of the bar, Ginge sat, nursing her third drink of the night. She was poorly dressed, in only her under-armor spandex and boots, as the breastplate itself had been damaged beyond usability on her last mission. The black top made her seem more scrawny than usual, somehow. Her tail, curled vaguely around the leg of her stool, only completed the image.
With a hand less steady than she'd prefer, the glass of brown liquid clinked against its brothers on the counter. Two sat in naked emptiness, set apart from the last remaining that'd yet to be touched. As had happened twice already in the past hour, the young woman emptied her third beer, then slammed it hard against the wooden bar with a loud shout.
"TO BEEN! I DIDN'T KNOW YOU FOR LONG, BUT DAMN, YOU COULD FIGHT!" Almost as soon as she'd said her piece, a few of the men and women around her repeated the toast, some adding their own comments, but it didn't last for long. This was her tradition, almost five years in the making. There were no tears, only laughter and remembrance.
The problem was, it was a lot more fun when there were others to laugh with.

Purika sat in a bar in the random town, having been sent to it to crush a rebel cell. He wore his black spandex suit, having short sleeves and long leggings which was accompanied by his weighted armor. His power level was suppressed from earlier so he wouldn't alert the rebels. He had put down the rebel cell rather easily, all it took was him knocking down their reinforced door and taking them out. He had let the ones who decided to surrender live, contacting the authorities to come and pick them up.
The authorities came to pick them up, Purika not knowing what'd happen to them after he left the scene to come here. Now he sat on a stool at the counter, next to a female. An expensive beer in his hand, he took a gulp of it before letting out a refreshed sigh. While he was sitting next to the woman, he noticed that she had drunken two beers and was on her way to finishing the third. Taking another gulp out of his drink, he'd remove the beer from his lips as the woman slammed the emptied onto the counter.
Now she shouted out a toast, Purika grinning as she did. Purika raised his beer up a bit, before returning the toast. "To Been!", Purika said, chuckling and putting his beer back on the counter. Purika was curious, who was this Been and what happened to him? Purika turned his head towards the woman that he sat next to.
"So, whose Been?", Purika asked while looking at the cheerful woman.

The young woman's brown eyes were slow to gravitate towards the man who had spoken to her. It was normal for others to join in her toasts, but few ever talked to her beyond that. It was so common to see the drunken patrons standing and shouting about whatever had come to mind to give them reason, but this...
Ginge glanced at the man seated beside her, who had been so silent up until now. He was quite large, of course; most Saiyans were. In fact, she had to tilt her head up quite a bit just to look him in the eye. It almost hurt, but then again, she was still quite sore, herself, even after spending a day in a healing tank.
"He was..." She paused for a moment, after a small *plink* drew her attention back to the empty glass in her hand. Her toast had damaged the handle quite a bit, and it'd just broken off in her hand. With a small chuckle at the owner's expense, she dropped the broken handle into the cup and continued where she'd left off. "Been was a comrade in my last mission. I'm commemorating his death.
"What about you?" She pondered aloud by mistake, as she reached for her fourth beer of the night. Maybe this would be enough for her tonight, she thought. She didn't want to get too chatty again, not after the last incident. "You carry yourself well. What brings you to this place?"

Purika watched as Ginge's head turned as he asked about Been, gaining her attention and watching as her head tilted her up a bit so they could have eye contact. The young woman was a bit small, especially compared to one of his squad mates, Shukaku. He didn't usually have to look up at others, but that was a different situation when in the presence of Shukaku. He listened as she started to speak, being cut short. Purika looked over to where she was looking, her having broken the handle off her glass.
"Looks like you pulled on it a bit too hard.", Purika said while chuckling a bit. She spoke again after she got the broken handle out of the way, Purika picking up his beer bottle and taking a gulp out of the beer in it. He sat it back down after she got done speaking, sighing a bit in content. "Oh, sorry to hear that.", Purika said. He took another sip of his beer as she spoke again, finishing the rest of the beer in the glass bottle.
"Huh?" Purika would say in reply to her first comment, wondering what she meant. Well, she did drink 4 glasses of beer so she could've been not thinking right. She made up for what she said with her next compliment and question, listening as she spoke. "Got a mission to take down some rebels located in this town, I came from the capital so I figured I should enjoy myself while im here.", Purika replied. After this, he was going to head home and most likely go to sleep.
Purika looked over to the bartender. "Bartender.", Purika said to get his attention. The bartender turned around and walked over to him. "Gimme another one of these.", Purika said, pointing to his bottle. "Sure thing.", the bartender said, walking off to retrieve him another bottle. He came back less than a minute later, putting a bottle on the counter. Purika would retrieve some zeni from his pocket and placed it on the counter for the bartender.

The bartender nodded and took the zeni and went back to what he was doing after depositing it. Now he turned his full attention back on the female.

"Oh, a big shot, eh?" Ginge teased through an amused smirk, all in good fun. Ignoring the broken glass, she reached for the last remaining drink and brought it slowly to her lips. Her hands were still shaking, and she was having some difficulty controlling her newfound strength.
"We should all be feeling honored, then. We've got one of the capitol's Saiyan elite in our presence tonight!" She practically stood and shouted with feigned irritation. Truth be told, she didn't know anything about rebels in the area, but then again, dissent wasn't uncommon in these parts. There were many who felt they weren't given a fair slice of the proverbial pie, yet very few actually willing to do anything about it.
"I'm just fuckin' with you." The young woman chuckled again, and took another drink from her glass. Her outburst had drawn a little bit of attention to the two, but she didn't think anything of it. It was nice to have a distraction at times like these. "So, does our visiting elite have a name?"

Purika took a gulp of his beer as the female called him a big shot. Purika was about to respond, placing his bottle back on the counter as she continued to speak. He continued to listen until she was done speaking, having a smirk on his face as she announced to the whole bar. The bar's attention drew to him, rotating his swivel chair 180° as she asked him for his name, his arms spread across the counter. "I'm Purika." He stated.
"I wouldn't call myself much of a big shot since barely anyone knows me, but I am pretty strong without my energy being suppressed. Let me demonstrate." He said, his ki suppression having completely vanished, showing his current strength while having his weights on. "As you can see, I'm way stronger than you all, and my armor is weighing me down." Purika said, laughing after he spoke. "The only reason I'm not breaking this chair is because I'm using my ki to prevent doing so." He said. The bar couldn't believe it, he was thing strong and in some random town. Purika had something he felt like putting out there.
"I also trained with the new commander, Shemha, a few weeks back, and I managed to transform temporarily while I was training with her." He said, just throwing some extra information out there. He felt that it was an honor to be able to train with somebody of such high status. Even more so that he accessed the transformation, even it was only temporary. He planned on attempting to access the form again sometime soon, but he would save that for later.
The bars reactions were mixed, some not believing the words that came out of his mouth. This made for quite the interesting discussion in the bar, them chatting amongst themselves. Meanwhile, he took another sip out of his expensive beer. Now he turned his focus onto the female who asked his name. "So, what's your name?" Purika asked, feeling it was only right to ask for hers since he told her and everyone else his name.

Ginge watched in idle amusement as the much larger Saiyan played along with her small tease. Some of the other patrons, too, continued to watch as he boasted of his strength. Truth be told, she couldn't help but to think of someone flexing before a blind woman as he, apparently, undid his suppressed power. She could hear the beeping of scouters from all across the bar, of course, but without her own, it didn't do much good.
However, it was what he'd said next that caught her full attention. The name Shemha might've been familiar, though she couldn't pair a face to it, but the claim to have transformed temporarily while training. Without asking further, she only had speculation to go off, but they were at the tail end of Vegeta's lunar cycle. How had he become the mighty Oozaru without the moon?
His question pulled her from her light pondering, unfortunately.
"Noone important." She replied through her light smirk. This was good, she thought. She still had enough self control to withhold so much information. For just a few moments, she put their conversation on hold to take another drink of beer, not to mention to give her neck a damn rest.
In fact, she stopped bothering with looking up at the extremely tall man. It was too tiresome.
"Now, don't change the subject! What was that about transforming?" A hint of excitement might've made its way into her voice as she spoke. "How'd you become the Oozaru without a full moon?"

Purika's question about her name was met with a statement and a smirk. Well, he guessed he would try and get her name later but for right now he would try and stay on subject. He also noticed that she was lacking a scouter, which meant that the female could not scan for his power level which was a little bit disappointing. She could be able to sense him, but there was a possibility she couldn't because most saiyans didn't know how to do that. He couldn't do it either until recently, being glad that he learned it just in case he didn't have his scouter on it or wasn't trying to get it broken in a fight.
Now she spoke again, Purika listening to her question. There was a way to transform into the Oozaru form without the full moon present by the use of a power ball, but the chances of getting that technique were low. That was beside the point though, that wasn't what he was talking about. He was talking about a transformation that required greater strength and gave you greater strength itself, unlike the Oozaru form where you didn't require anything but having blutz waves transfer into your body. Purika grinned, did she not know about the Super Saiyan form or did she think he was capable of using such a transformation?
If she didn't think he was capable of using it, that would kind of be an insult to him but not a lot of people were capable of using such a transformation so he would understand. He wasn't able to use it at will, that was something he would have to save for another time. He hadn't used it since his fight with Shemha, the form only came to him temporarily and left him almost as quickly as it came. Now it was time for Purika to explain the whole situation to her and anyone else in the bar who wanted to listen in. Now that she wasn't facing him, Purika guessing it would've been bothersome to hold her head up to look at him for that long, he would hunch over a bit so they would be on the same level.
He was quite a tall person, after all, and if he were in her shoes he wouldn't be looking up for long either. "Well I didn't become an Oozaru, I became something greater, a Super Saiyan!" Purika stated proudly. "But, unfortunately, the form was only temporary." He said, disappointed that he couldn't continue to use it. Now he waited for a reaction, some people in the bar discussing amongst themselves even more, or at least the people that were listening. Quite a few people in the bar didn't believe him, but he didn't care, he was there and he felt it for himself.
The new commander of the empire's military, Shemha, also witnessed it as well.

Ginge nearly leapt up out of her seat, as she jerked at his mention of the legend itself. For a moment or two, she turned to look at him with excitement, then that quickly died as her expression turned to one of puzzlement. She thought about taking another drink, but her arm wouldn't move in the aftermath of the larger man's claim. He was... It was...
"Bullshit!" She shouted with a brief couple of laughs. In her accusation, she nearly fell off the back of her seat before righting herself again. Even as the bar as a whole continued to watch and listen to the two, she didn't go easy on the would-be braggart. "You! You became the legendary Super Saiyan, and it was, conveniently for you, only temporary? If that's true, then I'm the Queen of Vegeta herself!"
Despite the volume of her voice, the Saiyan woman wasn't as angry as she was amused. She was laughing throughout her tirade, in fact, and she wasn't quite done with the man yet. The only thing to change was that the patrons had gone back to their own games and conversations.
"Hell! I'd give you points for thinking up an excuse for not showing off the power if it weren't so funny." She continued, her voice dropping back to its usual volume as her mean spirited revelry came to an end. For a few seconds more, she brought her laughter and breathing under control, then lifted the glass of beer before stopping just short of her lips.
"I needed that. Thanks, Purika." She chuckled again, and pat the larger man on the shoulder while taking another drink from her glass. "A word of advice? People make that claim about as often as there are fights around here." She was exaggerating, of course, but not by too much.

Purika watched the female and listened as she seemed amused at his claim of ascending to the legendary form, the super saiyan form, calling his statement bullshit. Purika just watched her and listened as she went on with his usual grin on his face, not caring what she said because he knew he did so and that's all the proof he needed. Purika just kept quite until she finished talking, preparing to give his two cents about her rejecting his claim. Purika picked up his glass and held it in his hand, raising it to his lips and taking a sip out of it before sighing in relief and sitting the beer bottle back on the counter. As he sat his bottle down, he thought about what he was going to say before he spat it out.
"You don't have to believe it, but if you want to ask a witness you can go and ask the new commander, Shemha." Purika said with a grin on his face. "If you still don't believe me, well, that's just you." He said. Now he picked up his bottle yet again, taking quite a few more sips than he normally would out of it, getting it down to 1/4 of how much beer was originally in the bottle. Purika could not give her proof right now since the transformation was only temporary, but when he did finally achieve it so that he could use it whenever he wanted he would show her. Now he sat there, waiting for a reply from her.
She still had yet to give him her name, but he did not regret giving her name even if she wasn't going to give him hers since he wanted to become known when he became a legend. He would have to work hard to be called such, meaning that it would take some time and hard work to get there, but he knew he was slowly but surely getting there.

Ginge raised her glass back to her lips and drank, as the larger man wrote off her disbelief. To be completely honest, she didn't care any longer for boasts and claims. One could go on for days about how strong they are, how insurmountable their power was. That didn't matter, though. What did matter was whether or not they could back up their words with actual strength, and she simply hadn't seen that, yet.
With that said, something that he'd said did catch her attention again. There was a new commander of the Saiyan Empire, by the name of Shemha. She didn't know of anyone by the name, and nor did it sound anything like a proper Saiyan name. She couldn't help but to sigh in disgust at the thought that a non-Saiyan was leading them now. Just what was going on at the capitol to cause such a disgrace, she thought with a momentary bought of frustration.
However, dwelling on such matters wasn't why the young Saiyan woman had come to the bar, and the last of her fourth beer disappeared down her yawning gullet.
"To Tomats!" She yelled loudly, as she waved the emptied glass back and forth haphazardly. "To the best... No, closest..." She growled in frustration. She couldn't think of the proper thing to say now, so she simply vented her feelings in another way. "I'll see you in hell, you stupid asshole!" Like that, she'd made her final toast, and threw the glass sharply against the ground, where it shattered loudly enough to get the bartender's attention.
"Hey! I've told you to stop that! Get the fuck out!" He did not seem so amused by the woman's way of mourning.
"I was just leaving, anyways!" Ginge shouted back, unable to control her brief fit of giggling. Four had definitely been enough, she thought while climbing down from her stool. In her condition, she'd forgotten her tail wrapped around one of the legs, and the wooden seat crashed to the floor with a loud bang as she tried to leave. She didn't seem to mind this, though.
"Well, Mr. Elite, it was fun." She bid the much larger man farewell with a small pat on the back; she couldn't quite reach his shoulder, after all. While a little less steady on her feet than she'd have liked, she made her way to the door and outside, where the cool air did help to keep her sober for a little while longer.
OOC: Ginge has left the building, and the thread.

Purika leaned against the counter now, watching the television on the wall as the woman started to finish her beer and made yet another toast after she was done. Purika grinned as she did so, picking his beer bottle up and raising it into the air just like she was doing in response to her toast. "To Tomats!" Purika said as he watched her throw her glass to the ground, causing him to laugh a bit at the show she was putting on at the moment. Purika looked over to the bartender, him noticing that she had broken yet another one of his glasses. Purika smiled, laughing even more under his breath as he turned his attention away from the bartender and looked at the television yet again.
Purika didn't pay much attention to their short quarrel, the chair falling to the ground caught his attention, though. Purika shook his head, his smirk still remaining on his face as she patted him on the back and wished him farewell. Purika raised his hand before he spoke. "Yea. See you." He said, wishing her farewell. Purika was about to go back to watching television until the bartender interrupted him, coming around the counter to sweep the broken glass up off the floor.
"Mind picking that stool up for me?" He asked Purika. Purika simply took his left arm off of the counter and held it towards the chair, sending small amounts of his ki to the chair and starting to lift it back up to its original position. Purika figured while he was doing that, he could do him a favor by helping him with the shattered glass on the floor. Purika now turned his arm just a bit to point towards the glass before all of it would go into the dustpan. "Thanks." The bartender said to Purika as he headed back around the counter to dispose of the broken glass.
"No problem." Purika said as he put his arm back on the counter and folding it, now having almost all of his attention on the television that rested on the wall. After a few more minutes of watching the television, he finished the rest of his drink and then decided it was starting to get late so he should get going, and he was getting quite sleepy so he was ready for a good night sleep. Purika finally rose from the stool he was sitting on and started heading out of the bar. Once outside, his crimson aura would wrap around him as the cold air started to pour into the town. He used his ki to heat him up a bit before blasting off into the sky, headed back towards his home in the capital.
